I have Asus R300 car navigation device. It has optional RDS TMS receiver. What does it mean? can I add external RDS TMC module? TMC button in branded iGo software is disabled. thanks
Hi looking for an events management solution. Admins would be able to create new event pages with information and booking forms that connect to a payment gateway.
Most of what I've seen is outdated and hard to use and back office intergration is zero or minimal. the front end pages are dull and use frames!!
Looking for upto date online software similar to what they are doing with Email marketing solutions (interspire, mailchimp) these application are easy to use and look the business.

Hi,
I have a machine behind a firewall to which I have only FTP and HTTP access - is there any remote desktop software available that I can install over FTP and access over HTTP (java based perhaps)?
The reason I'm asking is because ultraVNC stopped working for no reason and I need to access the PC (it has installed windows 7 with UAC disabled).
thanks

Client is creating a server that will be running our website and dual purposed to act as a print server.
We're trying to determine if Server 2008 Web Edition supports being a print server, however the comparison chart I found here only mentions Internet Print Client.
Unfortunately I work at a software company, so no one knows, and Microsoft's feature comparison isn't being incredibly helpful.
If Web Edition does not support Print Server, what is the recommended edition for a Web and Print server machine?
I would like my TrueCrypt virtual drive to act as a newly inserted USB drive or CD/DVD by executing commands in the partition's autorun.inf file.
I've read several suggestions online including creating a .bat file or installing software so Windows will think this is a CD, but I'd like to know the easiest and least intrusive way to pull it off. i.e. I want to keep from installing or messing with the host computer as much as possible, as this is intended to be a fully portable drive.
I have a client that is have an issue (it's slow) with a website on one of my servers. The server is a windows 2003 box running WebSphere 6.1.
I can't find anything in the logs that would indicates an issue.
Is there some free software out there that can help me figure out why the site is slow on the client's end?
The client has an IT department, but I need to be sure it's not my side of things.
Everytime I try to run a Enter-PSSession -ComputerName name, I am logged on to version 1.0 even tought 2.0 is installed.

When I bought my MBP 2.2 GHZ in 2007, it got from dead to an active dock in about 18 seconds, and now it takes about 1:30 to get a fully responsive home screen.
I want to find a way to profile the various things it does when it starts up so I can begin tuning it a bit.
Any good software or other recommendations for this process?
NetCut is a software which enables a network admin to turn off the internet connection of any machine in a LAN.
I want to know how it works. It has something to do with spurious ARP packets, however can't seem to find exactly how it works. I am looking for a detailed answer.
Any takers ?

Windows 8 and Microsoft Security Essentials
Windows 8 does not seem to have the "Security Essentials" Anti-Virus like Windows 7 installed. Also the Download doesn't say Win-8 compatible.
And in addition, my Soluto does not recognize any Anti-Virus program installed. Is there a Anti-Virus in Windows 8 installed by default? Or can I continue using Security Essentials?
(Please no discussion about the best anti-virus software)
Where can I download a virus, work, trojan, etc. for analysis? Yes, I'm actually hunting for malware, rather than keeping it at bay and hiding behind antivirus software and firewalls. I plan to analyze it in a lab for a project, but don't know where to even begin finding one.
I'm relatively new to the topic, so please help me. I have a single VPN connection plugin installed, and it's vpnc. As far as I can see, it's not the thing I need to establish a VPN connection to a Stonegate VPN gateway. Is there a plugin for that gateway? What software should I use, or at least where do I start reading?
Thanks in advance!

An open-ended question (ie I havn't encountered this yet...)
Being in the UK I consider it only a matter of time until I come across the following scenario:
Windows 8 Pro N install where the End User wants DVD playback without installing all the Media Player 'add-ins' to enable it.
Will just installing codecs and then some playback software work? (ie no huge downloads from Windows Update - consider this user to only want Crtical Updates due to a slow internet connection.)
Just for the research, which OS can work from the box or with some 3rd-party software as a fc-target?
I know only the following: Solaris (currently only OpenSolaris+COMSTAR), Windows Storage Server.
Is that the only two above can?
I'm currently an running a quad core processor on windows 7 and was wondering if there is a way to turn off unneeded cpu cores while I'm running on battery to extend battery life it would be nice to do this automatically but will also accept way to it manually if there is no way to do it automatically either in windows or through management software I've searched on the internet and haven't been able to find anything to this effect on google
So how do I go from installing MySQL from the Software Center to inputing data into fields and bringing in a comma delimited file? I've only had brief experience with MSAccess and OOo Base a long time ago, so details are appreciated, I just want to get up and running.
I have Ubuntu 10.10, 64 bit, if that affects much. If you can link me to a howto that does exactly what I'm looking for, that would work.
Again, Thanks!
I just installed Windows Vista on a laptop computer.
I was wondering if you could recommend any essential software to be installed on the system (i.e. anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc...)
Thanks
Hard drives are transitioning from 512 byte to 4096 byte sector sizes, and it looks like Windows XP won't support these newer drives without additional software (such as WDalign from Western Digital)
My question is: how does this affect external hard drives? I'll be buying a 1TB USB external drive, and it'll be plugged into a mix of Windows 7 and XP machines. Is there an easy way to tell what the sector size on an external hard drive is?
I have a batch file that outputs a text file. I thought it would be nice if I could zip it up too.
This will be used in an uncontrolled environment so I can't make assumptions about the presence of 3rd party software products such as 7-Zip etc. This needs to use Window's now-built-in capability to zip files.
I want something that will:
play mp3s
fit in my pocket
have a 3.5mm audio jack
let me write software for it
cost $50 max
I guess a cheap mobile phone could satisfy that too. Don't care much for brand names.
Any ideas?
My music library is organized (roughly) like this:
Music
mp3 (original)
Artist/Album/Song
mp3 (from Tom)
Artist/Album/Song
mp3 (from Dick)
Artist/Album/Song
mp3 (from Harry)
Artist/Album/Song
... etc.
When I use the desktop Zune Software, it finds all of this music. However, the Xbox Music metro app only seems to find music in the "mp3 (original)" folder. How can I force it to find all of my music?
Does anyone knows if it is possible to have more than 16 desktop "spaces" with Mac OS X Snow Leopard?
I know that it does not seem possible at all from the System Preferences settings, but I was wondering if there exists some software tools that would enable one to use more Spaces, say 20-25.
Thanks for the help.
Has anyone used MS Online Services - Exchange Online in production? I can't find any intelligent reviews about it.
MS is theoretically the best company to host their own software, but what about in practice?
My users primarily access their email through Outlook on their laptops, so I am not looking at Deskless Worker.
