I don't want to use my real tracking ID to see if everything is correct on my dev. environment, neither I want to put my code untested live...   • Create and display indoor map on Android

    I'm developing an Android application and I would like to display an internal (indoor) map of some buildings, but I don't know where to begin: I want to create a custom kml file (how it's possible to create it? with which tool?) and display it in a fragment. I already have it working with external maps (simple GoogleMap in MapFragment), so it would be super to have the kml file placed 'over' the GoogleMap, like real indoor maps. Thanks

    is there any way to increase performance of SQL server inserts, as you can see below i have used below sql 2005, 2008 and oracle. i am moving data from ORACLe to SQL. while inserting data to SQL i am using a procedure. insert to Oracles is very fast in compare to SQL, is there any way increase performance. or a better way to move data from Oracle to SQL (data size approx 100000 records an hour) please find below stats as i gathered, RUN1 and RUN2 time is in millisecond.

  • How does Hibernate detect dirty state of an entity object?

    Is it using some kind of byte codes modification to the original classes? Or, maybe Hibernate get the dirty state by compare the given object with previously persisted version? I'm having a problem with hashCode() and equals() methods for complicated objects. I feel it would be very slow to compute hash code if the object has collection members, and cyclic references are also a problem. If Hibernate won't use hashCode()/equals() to check the dirty state, I guess I should not use equals()/hashCode() for the entity object (not value object), but I'm also afraid if the same operator (==) is not enough. So, the questions are: How does Hibernate know if a property of an object is changed? Do you suggest to override the hashCode()/equals() methods for complicated objects? What if they contains cyclic references? And, also, Would hashCode()/equals() with only the id field be enough?

    Hey all, what would be best practice for clipping the bottom borders of a Bitmap? Just manipulate the Bitmap itself or overlay an alpha mask drawable or ...? The whole story: I've a Listview which looks like the iPhone's grouped UITableView style. I would like to display a Bitmap in the last row, but for now the Bitmap overlaps my custom background drawable of the Listview cell. Thx in advance!

    Can I somehow find out what was the change in the textfield? I would want to compare the old text with the new text ... the problem is, that I have multiple textAreas in a tab-editor, and all the textAreas are watched by one eventListener. I want to get a value calculated by the next formula: globalChangeCount += thisTextArea.currentCharacterCount - thisTextArea.oldtCharacterCount where the globalChangeCount is a value modified by all changes in any of the textAreas. I am searching for these values through the event variable, but can't seam to find the old text of the textArea.

    We have common library projects shared amongst many projects that are required to be checked out into a "Libraries" folder which a developer needs to checkout prior to opening the main project in visual studio. How I tell hudson that there is this dependency? I figured one thing I could do is setup a custom workspace and specify the location for all projects, but how do I wire up the dependency between them all? Is simply specifying "Build after other projects are built" enough?

    Hi, I have written a dummy (ram disk) block device driver for linux kernel. When the driver is loaded, I can see it as /dev/mybd. I can successfully transfer data onto it using dd command, compare the copied data successfully. The problem is that when I create ext2/3 filesystem on it, I have to use -o loop option with the mount command. Otherwise mount fails with following result: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on mybd, missing codepage or helper program, or other error What could be the problem? Please help.     I want to make 10 asynchronous http requests at once and only process the results when all have completed and in a single callback function. I also do not want to block any threads using WaitAll (it is my understanding that WaitAll blocks until all are complete). I think I want to make a custom IAsyncResult which will handle multiple calls. Am I on the right track? Are there any good resources or examples out there that describe handling this?

  • In C, would !~b ever be faster than b == 0xff ?

    From a long time ago I have a memory which has stuck with me that says comparisons against zero are faster than any other value (ahem Z80). In some C code I'm writing I want to skip values which have all their bits set. Currently the type of these values is char but may change. I have two different alternatives to perform the test: if (!~b) /* skip */ and if (b == 0xff) /* skip */ Apart from the latter making the assumption that b is an 8bit char whereas the former does not, would the former ever be faster due to the old compare to zero optimization trick, or are the CPUs of today way beyond this kind of thing?
