• Updating Workflow Task without Correlation Token

  I have inhertied a sequential sharepoint workflow which deals with multiple tasks for different people; multi step approval based on certain condition..For each approval new task is created and monitored...For some reason; we have decided to use single task for the whole workflow and the single task will get assigned to required person at different stages...this will help us reduce the cluter in the task list For refactoring it; I am trying to create "CreateOrUpdateTaskAndWaitForCompletition" activity...so that I can use this component multiple times as per given workflow. Create/Wait branch of my activity works fine; as I have the correlation token within the activity. But when I try two instances of this activity; task is created in first activity and it needs to be updated in second instance where I dont have the correlation token. In the second instance; (Update/Wait branch) I have tried updating the task through code activity but its not working and I am getting "This task is currently locked by a running workflow and cannot be edited" exception! Can I use UpdateTask activity without correlation token? Can I programmatically update the workflow task? Can I programmatically unlock the workflow task?

• Why would Basic Auth not work with my WCF client to Java SOAP Web Service?

  I have a Java based web service that requires basic authentication to communicate with it. If I type the WSDL url into my browser I'm prompted for Basic Auth. Which I can get by entering the correct credentials. However using my WCF client doesn't work.   I know this is a basic function of the DataGridView, but for some reason, I just can't get it to work. I just want the DataGridView on my Windows form to submit any changes made to it to the database when the user clicks the "Save" button. Now ruleTableDA.Update(dt) is throwing the exception "Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records."

  I'm working on a PoSh project that generates CSharp code, and then Add-Types it into memory. The new types use existing types in an on disk DLL, which is loaded via Add-Type. All is well and good untill I actualy try to invoke methods on the new types. • How to catch an expected (and intended) 302 response code with generic XmlHttpRequest?

  So, if you look back at my previous question about Exchange Autodiscover, you'll see that the easiet way to get the autodiscover URL is to send a non-secure, non-authenticated GET request to the server, ala: http://autodiscover.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml The server will respond with a 302 redirect with the correct url in the Location header. I'm trying out something really simple at first with a Chrome extension, where I have: if (req.readyState==4 && req.status==302) { return req.getResponseHeader("Location"); } With another ajax call set up with the full XML Post and the user credentials, But instead Chrome hangs at this point, and a look at the developer panel shows that it is not returning back the response but instead is acting like no response was given, meanwhile showing a Uncaught Error: NETWORK_ERR: XMLHttpRequest Exception 101 in the error log. The way I see it, refering to the exact response status is about the same as "catching" it, but I'm not sure if the problem is with Chrome/WebKit or if this is how XHR requests always handle redirects. I'm not sure how to catch this so that I can get still get the headers from the response. Or would it be possible to set up a secondary XHR such that when it gets the 302, it sends a totally different request? Quick Update I just changed it so that it doesn't check the response code: if (req.readyState==4) { return req.getResponseHeader("Location"); } and instead when I alert out the value it's null. and there is still the same error and no response in the dev console. SO it seems like it either doesn't track 302 responses as responses, or something happens after that wipes that response out?

• Rails App hangs after few requests

  I have Bitnami Rails stack installed on my Mac. To better explain my problem i created a simple scaffold based rails app with mysql as the backend. I can get to perform simple POST and GET requests for a while and after a few requests the app just hangs indefinitely. No exception caught or anything worthwhile in the development log to report this strange behavior. • Access denied when trying to read information about SharePoint groups

  I am trying to get the membership of a group in WSS 3.0. I am doing this in an elevated permissions block. Here is the code: SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate() { using (SPSite site = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.ID)) { using (SPWeb rootWeb = site.RootWeb) { SPGroup gAdmins = rootWeb.SiteGroups["Admins"]; } } }); I get taken to the "access denied" SharePoint screen when I run this code. The group exists. The identity of the application pool for the web application is in the dbo role in the content database. The code works on my development server, but not on another server, which leads me to believe there is something wrong with the permissions or configuration on this server, maybe something in dcomcnfg? Here are some lines from the SharePoint log that seem to be related: PermissionMask check failed. asking for 0x08000000, have 0x00000000 Unknown SPRequest error occurred. • IIS 6 with wildcard mapping and UNC virtual directory problem

  Hi. On our production servers (win 2003 with IIS6 and load balanced with an F5 BIGIP), we have a problem when introducing wildcardmapping on IIS6. We use .net Framework 3.5 SP1. The issue manifests itself as by the server only sometimes serving the images stored on a virtual directory pointing to a UNC path. Sometimes the images are displayed, and sometimes not. Removing the wildcard mapping solved this problem. I will need wildcard mapping on the server for future features, so any help/pointers to if this is a known problem will be very helpful. In advance, thanks for any help. Edit: The exception it fails with is the following: Message: Failed to start monitoring changes to '\ourFileServer\folder1\thumbnails' because the network BIOS command limit has been reached. • Weird certificate error when trying to generate web service client from secure site

  Dear stack overflow. I get a weird error when trying to use AXIS1.4 Wsdl2Java tool to generate client code for the web service that is installed on the secure IIS site. Weird thing is that if I use the code generated from the other server against the weird server everything works fine. It is only Wsdl2Java that is giving me a problem.

• Is NUnit broken with Windows7 for C++/CLI?

  NUnit is failing in C++/CLI with a System.IO.FileNotFoundException. I have tried my own freshly-created project, the C++/CLI sample included with NUnit and the one from CodeProject How to use NUnit to test native C++ code using Visual Studio 2008sp1 with NUnit 2.5.5 as well as 2.4.8. I installed 2.4.8 just on C:\ in case there was something weird about paths with spaces such as Program Files (x86). I have no problems with a C# sample using NUnit. in NUnit GUI, all of these C++/CLI projects encounter the same problem, on attempting to open the projects. I'd really like to use NUnit but for now have had to go back to standard Microsoft tests System.IO.FileNotFoundException... • Problems requesting the LDAP: The server is unwilling to process the request.

  We have written an authentication provider for a SharePoint web application which can requests multiple LDAP directories. One of the LDAP server have to be requested via SSL. So we imported the CA certificate which was used to sign the LDAP server's certificate into the certificate store of the SharePoint server. The following code snippet shows how we authenticate an user. The passed credentials (account, password) belong to the user we want to authenticate. var entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://<ldap-server-address>", "cn=account,ou=sub,o=xyz,c=de", "password", AuthenticationTypes.SecureSocketsLayer); var searcher = new DirectorySearcher(entry); var found = searcher.FindOne(); When the code is processed, the call to searcher.FindOne() throws following exception. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80072035): The server is unwilling to process the request What circumstance can lead to this error? UPDATE: I found some information about the error message. There the problem seems to be the certificate store, as the user has only stored the certificate in the in the user's store and not in the computer's store. Unfortunately we've already stored it there. So could this be still a certificate issue? UPDATE/SOLUTION: Actually the problem is solved. It seems as if the root CA certificate was imported correctly but the error messages the LDAP server responded was caused by an expired user account our customer gave us for testing.

I am using an extension class for Linq querys found here - http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/linqtosqlcache I have wired up the code and when I open the page I get this exception - "The SQL Server Service Broker for the current database is not enabled, and as a result query notifications are not supported. Please enable the Service Broker for this database if you wish to use notifications." its coming from this event in the global.asax protected void Application_Start() { RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); //In Application Start Event System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDependency.Start(new dataContextDataContext().Connection.ConnectionString); } my question is... how do i enable Service Broker in my SQL server 2008 database? I have tried to run this query.. ALTER DATABASE tablename SET ENABLE_BROKER but it never ends and runs for ever, I have to manually stop it. once I have this set in SQL server 2008, will it filter down to my DataContext, or do I need to configure something there too ? thanks for any help Truegilly

• Jeditable Datepicker onblur problem

  Hi, I am using inline editing using Jeditable and datepicker. I have a column in my table which displays Date as a hyperlink. When I click on this it shows me the datepicker. And when a particular date is selected its updated in the backend and the cell now is updated with the changed value. However, am having problem with onblur event while changing month or years. This event gets triggered when I click on "Prev" or "Next" buttons on the datepicker control. This causes an exception when the date is selected. This works fine as long as the date selected is in the current month. I tried all possible solutions listed here: stackoverflow.com/questions/2007205/jeditable-datepicker-causing-blur-when-changing-month If settimeout the control does not change back to a normal hyperlink on closing the datepicker or on a true onblur event. • Subsonic Access To App.Config Connection Strings From Referenced DLL in Powershell Script

  I've got a DLL that contains Subsonic-generated and augmented code to access a data model. Actually, it is a merged DLL of that original assembly, Subsonic itself and a few other referenced DLL's into a single assembly, called "PowershellDataAccess.dll. However, it should be noted that I've also tried this referencing each assembly individually in the script as well and that doesn't work either. I am then attempting to use the objects and methods in that assembly. In this case, I'm accessing a class that uses Subsonic to load a bunch of records and creates a Lucene index from those records. The problem I'm running into is that the call into the Subsonic method to retrieve data from the database says it can't find the connection string. I'm pointing the AppDomain at the appropriate config file which does contain that connection string, by name. Here's the script. $ScriptDir = Get-Location [System.IO.Directory]::SetCurrentDirectory($ScriptDir) [Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom("PowershellDataAccess.dll") [System.AppDomain]::CurrentDomain.SetData("APP_CONFIG_FILE", "$ScriptDir\App.config") $indexer = New-Object LuceneIndexingEngine.LuceneIndexGenerator $indexer.GeneratePageTemplateIndex("PageTemplateIndex"); I went digging into Subsonic itself and the following line in Subsonic is what's looking for the connection string and throwing the exception: ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings[connectionStringName] So, out of curiosity, I created an assembly with a single class that has a single property that just runs that one line to retrieve the connection string name. I created a ps1 that called that assembly and hit that property. That prototype can find the connection string just fine. Anyone have any idea why Subsonic's portion can't seem to see the connection strings?

• How to mock HTTPSession/FlexSession with TestNG and some Mocking Framework

  I'm developing a web application running on Tomcat 6, with Flex as Frontend. I'm testing my backend with TestNG. Currently, I'm trying to test the following method in my Java-Backend: public UserPE login(String mail, String password) { UserPE dbuser = findUserByMail(mail); if (dbuser == null || !dbuser.getPassword().equals(password)) throw new RuntimeException("Invalid username and/or password"); // Save logged in user FlexSession session = FlexContext.getFlexSession(); session.setAttribute("user", dbuser); return dbuser; } The method needs access to the FlexContext which only exists when i run it on the Servlet container (don't bother if you don't know Flex, it's more a Java-Mocking question in general). Otherwise i get a Nullpointer exception when calling session.setAttribute(). Unfortunately, I cannot set the FlexContext from outside, which would make me able to set it from my tests. It's just obtained inside the method. What would be the best way to test this method with a Mocking framework, without changing the method or the class which includes the method? And which framework would be the easiest for this use case (there are hardly other things i have to mock in my app, it's pretty simple)? Sorry I could try out all of them for myself and see how i could get this to work, but i hope that i'll get a quickstart with some good advices!

  I'm having a problem with LINQ. I have 2 tables (Parent-child relation) Table1: Events (EventID, Description) Table2: Groups (GroupID, EventID(FK), Description) Now i want to create an Event an and a child. Event e = new Event(); e.Description = "test"; Datacontext.Events.InsertOnSubmit(event) Group g = new Group(); g.Description = "test2"; g.EventID = e.EventID; Datacontext.Groups.InsertOnSubmit(g); Datacontext.SubmitChanges(); When i debug, i can see that after inserting the event. the EventID has gotten a new value (auto increment). But when Datacontext.SubmitChanges(); gets called. I get the following exception "The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint ... I know this can be solved by creating a relation in the LINQ diagram between Events and groups. And then setting the entity itself. But i don't want to load the events everytime i ask a list of groups. All i need is some way that when inserting the group fails, the event insert won't be comitted in the database. Sorry if this is a bit unclear, My english isn't really good. Thanks in advance!

I ran the test and it failed. I know that that is what it's supposed to happen but I was left wondering if isn't there a way to launch an exception or throw in a message when trying to run the method params. Also, if I want to run this Generate() method 10 times with different values (let's say, from 1 to 10), will I have to make 10 mock setups or something, or is there a special method for it? • Starting an Erlang slave node in escript fails when using custom Erlang in Ubuntu 10.4

When running it on Ubuntu 10.04 I get this: $ ./start_slave Node started successfully! $ I want to install my own Erlang (latest version, debug compiled files for dialyzer etc) since the stock install of Erlang on Ubuntu lacks some features. I put my Erlang binaries inside ~/Applications/bin. Starting Erlang normally works, and starting slave nodes inside an Erlang shell works as well. However, now my escript doesn't work. After about 60 seconds it returns an error: $ ./start_slave escript: exception error: no match of right hand side value {error,timeout} Even if I change the first line to the escript to use my erlang version, it still does not work: #!/home/user/Applications/bin/escript The slave node is started with a call to erlang:open_port/2 which seems to be using sh which in turn does not read my .bashrc file that sets my custom PATH environment variable. The timeout seems to occur when slave:start_link/3 waits for the slave node to respond, which it never does. How can I roll my own installation of Erlang and start slave nodes inside escripts on Ubuntu 10.4?
