Excel 2007 UDF keeps failing, why?

I've been trying to browse info about this for a while now. The user defined functions in Excel 2007 just make no sense to me whatsoever. According to all the tutorials, it should be really simple. Just press alt + f11, insert a new module, and enter the VBA code there. At this point typing '=FUNCTIONNAME(parameters)' into any cell should make it work. It did, at first. Then upon closing and reopening the worksheet it stopped working. I checked to see that macros were enabled, but either way, that didn't help. Then I browsed the graphic UI from the function button to locate user defined functions. I found it there by name of 'MyExcelWorksheet.xls!FUNCTIONNAME.FUNCTIONNAME' and clicking that, it started working again. Now, a day later, I get back to working on this and it's broken, again. I just get #NAME? error or some "Function Arguments - Function doesn't use any arguments" -popup (translated from Finnish Excel, not sure what that msg is in English) when I select the function from the GUI. So what does it take to just create a function, and actually make it work and KEEP working? For the life of me I can't figure out why this has to be so difficult. :) I'm starting to think my company has some weird settings enabled or whatever, because judging by the lack of information I've found on the subject, this isn't supposed to happen.

Event not triggering

I have no idea where to start on this one. I have a that does not appear until a button is clicked. The function is not even called, as I made a alert() the first line of the function at it does nothing. What is odd, is that onclick="Effect.Fade(aDiv,{duration: 0.5})" does work. Other simple javascript functions in the onclick="" work, except for the function call. Any help as to why this is happening would be very appreciated. Thanks, Dave

golang dynamically parsing files

For parsing files i have setup a variable for template.ParseFiles and i currently have to manually set each file. Two things: How would i be able to walk through a main folder and a multitude of subfolders and automatically add them to ParseFiles so i dont have to manually add each file individually? MFC/CCriticalSection: Simple lock situation hangs

I have to program a simple threaded program with MFC/C++ for a uni assignment. Everything works but, as soon as i do click on my list, and so triggers the handler function, the whole program hangs indefinitely.I tried using a Cmutex. I tried using a CSingleLock wrapping over the critical section object, and none of this has worked. What am i missing ?

jQuery resizable() dynamic maxWidth option

I have 3 columns that are resizable. When one is made wider, the one to it's left is made smaller. Essentially there are only 2 handles. Left col and Mid col. So when Mid col is made thinner, Right col expands accordingly. All three of them are contained with a 900px parent div, so the sum of all three is always 900. They have max and min widths set statically. My issue is that if you take the left handle and move it all the way to the right you're still able to use the right handle and expand the mid col past the edge of the parent div. I thought of a way to solve that issue by writing up a function that checks the widths of the columns and then subtracts left and right columns from the parent div width, I called it mWid. This leaves me with the number I want to set as the maxWidth for Mid col. Now the issue is that mWid is not gettings updated for here "maxWidth: mWid" Here is what the function for the right handle looks like: $(function() { $("#midResizable").resizable({ handles: 'e', containment: '#container', maxWidth: mWid, // gets set once, but doesn't update! Des decryption returns empty

Now my query is that irrespective of ValidateValue() returning true/false __doPostBack('ApplyBtn','') function is not showing any effect for me. My understanding is that string passed to onclick acts like function body, and return will from first function will return control preventing second function from execution. Is that correct ? Dual AJAX Requests at different times

Alright, I'm trying to make an AJAX Chat system that polls the chat database every 400ms. That part is working, the part of which isn't is the Active User List. When I try to combine the two requests, the first two requests are made, then the whole thing snowballs and the usually timed (12 second) Active User List request starts updating every 1ms and the first request NEVER happens again. Loading a CSV file using jQuery GET returns the header but no data

When reading a CSV file from a server using the jQuery 'GET' function I do not get any data. When I look at the code using FireBug I can see the GET request is sent and the return value is '200 OK'. Also I see that the header is returned correctly so the request is definitely made, and data is returned. This is also what I see in Wireshark. Here I see the complete contents of the CSV file is returned as a standard HTTP response. But the actual data is not there in my script. Firebug shows an empty response and the 'success' function is never called. jquery events on input submit fields

I have a problem with jquery submit button onclick and default event. What I want to do is replace an click event on submit button if it has one, and get an dialog box to show up, on clicking yes the dialog should start that default onclick event if submit button has one defined, if it hasn't than the default event should happen (button submits form), .submit() function does not work for me in any case cause I need to send this button also through a form and if button wasn't clicked .submit() sends form data without submit data. Problem with JQuery swapImage();

Hello!~ On my articles page (http://www.adrtimes.squarespace.com/articles) I have each entry start with an image that changes on rollover. This is working fine. However, on my homepage (http://www.adrtimes.squarespace.com), I am loading in the 2 most recent articles that are not categorized as video, and the 2 most recent articles that are tagged as video. I am using jQuery load() to pull in the content from the articles page. Everything works ok with that except the swapImage rollovers on the homepage. i tried including the swapImage function as callbacks but only one group or the other will rollover properly, not both groups of content. I'm not sure what the problem is!! ajaxStart() showing loading message doesn't seem to work....

I user jquery.ajax call to controller of asp.net mvc... I would like to show a loading indicator.. I tried this but that doesn't seem to work... <div class="loading" style="padding-left:5px; margin-bottom:5px;display:none;"> Loading...&nbsp </div> and my jquery ajax call looks like this, function getMaterials(currentPage) { $.ajax({ url: "Materials/GetMaterials", data: {'currentPage': (currentPage + 1) ,'pageSize':5}, contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", global: false, async: false, dataType: "json", success: function(data) { var divs = ''; $("#ResultsDiv").empty(); $.each(data.Results, function() { //my logic here.... $(".loading").bind("ajaxStart", function() { $(this).show(); }).bind("ajaxStop", function() { $(this).hide(); }); } }); return false; } My loading indicator doen't seem to showup..
