    I have to install windows service using Visual Studio. Target location for the install is handled by “DefaultLocation” property in Visual Studio setup project. I had used [AppDataFolder] tag to install the application. As the result, it has been installed in “C:\Users[username]\AppData*Roaming*” folder. I can not figure out how to modify “DefaultLocation” property in such a way that application will be installed in C:\Users[username]\AppData*Local* folder. Any idea how to accomplish that?

    How are paths determined on a remote machines? I have been assigned a network loaction. Let's call it \wassup\test1 I assume that wassup is the ame of the computer. The question I have is this. How can I determine what the local path from the point of view of the remote machine would be for "test1". For example, how would I know if it is c:\test1 or d:\test1 ?

    Hi, when running a Java application as service with the user 'LocalService', the temp directory ("java.io.tmpdir") points to 'c:/windows/temp' (for example). Running a Java application normally gives 'c:/documents and settings/user/local settings/temp' instead.   • Symfony: Web debug toolbar icons disappeared

    Hi, Just moved a symfony project from local (win) to server (linux), and the icons in the web debug toolbar have disappeared. Only the image alts remain so I guess it's a path issue with the images. Basically, I see "Time 300ms" instead of "[icon] 300ms" for each of the items. I'm a little worried that some other paths aren't broken as well that are going to be a pain to find. Has anyone had/resolved this issue? Thank you.

  • C# MySQL Connector works in IDE, not after publish?

    For some reason I can't seem to get the MySQL Net Connector to work with C# outside of the IDE. I have a very simple program working just fine in the IDE (connecting to the database and everything) but when I publish the code and run the .application file (on my local computers desktop or off the company server) it says it can't connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :( Thank you

I know latency over local wifi is probably fine but what are the issues with latency over GPRS/3G? I've searched and the best I've seen is someone saying it was 'high', without presenting any concrete numbers.     Accidentally I have created file "-" (just a minus) in a directory and commited it. I have to delete it because its causing error on other machines: svn: Can't convert string from 'UTF-8' to native encoding: svn: ?\226?\128?\147 I can remove it from local directory using "rm -i *" or with python "os.remove('\xe2\x80\x93')" but those methods do not work with "svn rm". How to delete such file from svn repository?

  • can the web.config be changed so roles wouldn't work any more?

    I have had two instances of this problem, first on my local computer, now on the main site. Users can log in to the site, but it doesn't seem to recognize their roles. When I log in (which the database still recognizes as having the role admin), the code does not recognize it as being in the admin role. If there are other web.configs in subfolders, would that cause the problem? What could possibly cause this issue? Thanks! scojomodena

  • Django Custom Field: Only run to_python() on values from DB?

    How can I ensure that my custom field's *to_python()* method is only called when the data in the field has been loaded from the DB? I'm trying to use a Custom Field to handle the Base64 Encoding/Decoding of a single model property. Everything appeared to be working correctly until I instantiated a new instance of the model and set this property with its plaintext value...at that point, Django tried to decode the field but failed because it was plaintext. The allure of the Custom Field implementation was that I thought I could handle 100% of the encoding/decoding logic there, so that no other part of my code ever needed to know about it. What am I doing wrong?   • Changing the block size of a dfs file in Hadoop

    I found that my map tasks is currently inefficient when parsing one particular set of files (total 2 TB). I'd like to change the block size of files in the Hadoop dfs (from 64MB to 128 MB). I can't find how to do it in the documentation for only one set of files and not the entire cluster, does anyone know the command that would change the block size when I upload it (ie copy from local to the dfs)?     Hi, I recently contacted a web host regarding support for external database access to a Microsoft SQL Server database included in a package they offer. They replied saying that it is only possible with an SSH-tunnel. Is it possible to connect to a SQL Server database in Visual Studio using an SSH-tunnel? It is important for me to be able to access the database from my local machine (for debugging, generating LINQ classes, editing tables, etc). Or, how should I go about working with their database?
