  • How to install Eclipse + PHP Development Tools (PDT) + Debugger on Mac in The Year 2010

    I had a lot of trouble installing Eclipse and PDT on my system. It took two days, largely because all the tutorials I could find were out of date (written in 2008, it's 2010 now) and various steps they included were no longer necessary, broken, or irrelevant. I wanted to write my process here so it could be improved upon (via wiki) as time goes on. Install Eclipse without PHP plugin ("Eclipse Classic"). This will give you a complete Eclipse, which I find preferable, as the UI is more fleshed out (e.g. you get a default list of Perspectives, which helps you understand what Perspectives are.) Install PDT SDK with the Help Install New Software menu item. You'd think you'd be done here, but if you try to run something, it'll fail complaining of not having a debugger. Install the Zend Debugger. It'll fail if you try to use the Install New Software option, as many tutorials suggest ("No repository found containing osgi.bundle.org.zend.php.debug.debugger.5.3.7.v20091116".) Instead, download it from http://www.zend.com/en/community/pdt, and manually copy the features/ and plugins/ directory into your Eclipse install (these instructions are not written anywhere). Restart Eclipse Monkey with preferences for a while -- if you followed a previous tutorial and tried to manually add your php executable to Eclipse prefs (/usr/bin/php), remove it (PHP PHP Executables). Set one of the Zend Debugger executables to the default. If you've already tried to execute a .php file, remove the existing "Run" profile you (maybe weren't aware that you) created (Run Debug Configurations...). Eclipse works! You should be able to run a .php file as a script just fine.

  • error C2512 in precompiled header file?

    I'm having a ridiculously strange problem. When I try to run the program below, there's an error message that says: "error C2512: 'Record' : no appropriate default constructor available". And when I double-click it, it directs me to a precompiled read-only header file named "xmemory0". Do they expect me to change a read-only file?   • phpUnit - mock php extended exception object

    I'm testing some legacy code that extends the default php exception object. This code prints out a custom HTML error message. I would like to mock this exception object in such a way that when the tested code generates an exception it will just echo the basic message instead of giving me the whole HTML message. I cannot figure out a way to do this. It seems like you can test for explicit exceptions, but you can't change in a general way the behavior of an exception, and you also can't mock up an object that extends a default php functionality. ( can't think of another example of this beyond exceptions... but it would seem to be the case ) I guess the problem is, where would you attach the mocked object?? It seems like you can't interfere with 'throw new' and this is the place that the object method is called.... Or if you could somehow use the existing phpunit exception functionality to change the exception behavior the way you want, in a general way for all your code... but this seems like it would be hacky and bad....

    This is more or less the inverse of my previous question. I need to debug some HTTP requests that I am making. Since these requests arise from the use of some external libraries, sometimes I am not sure of what is the actual data I am sending. Is there some dummy server (for Linux) that accepts HTTP requests and just prints them somewhere so that I can inspect them? I would like to be able to see in plain text the full request, like POST /foo HTTP/1.1 Host: www.example.com Accept: text/xml,text/html;q=0.9,text/plain;q=0.8,image/png,*/*;q=0.5 Accept-Language: en-gb,en;q=0.5 Content-Type: text/plain Content-Length: 11 Hello world

    I am using EF 4.0 and I need to implement query with one inner join and with N outer joins I started to implement this using different approaches but get into trouble at some point.   • How can I take browser screenshots at a higher resolution than my browser supports?

    I need to take a screenshot of a website as it would appear on a very high resolution monitor... say 4000x3000 pixels. My laptop's screen has a native resolution of 1400x768. Basically, I need to simulate having a monitor resolution much higher than my monitor and video card actually supports. I want the screenshot of the site to look pretty much how it does when you hit CTRL MINUS (zoom out) in Firefox repeatedly, but without any loss of pixels due to scaling. How can I do this? Is there some way to use virtual machine software to simulate a super-high-res display? If not, is there some way to open a browser window bigger than the screen, and then capture its contents as a PNG somehow? Anything else that might work?

    I have got a quite strange problem here. I am developing an IM software and need to play audio files recorded by another client on Android. The same audio file I've got can be played with AVAudioPlayer on 3GS(IOS 4.2.1) device and simulator 4.2. But when I tried by play it on iPhone4(iOS 4.3.3), the function "play" always return NO. I also tried with two iPhone devices, the audio files recorded by iPhone client can be played on both 3GS and iPhone4. So I asked the Android developers about the record parameters they've used. They said that the "AudioEncoder" used by them was "DEFAULT".     Is there a function that can be called on an Ext.grid.Panel in ExtJS that will make all columns visible, if some of them are hidden by default? Whenever an end-user needs to show the hidden columns, they need to click each column. Below, I have some code to add a custom menu option when you select a field header. I'd like to execute this function so all columns show. As an example below, I have 'Project ID' and 'User Created' hidden by default.     BACKGROUND I have a script to upload an image. One to keep the original image and one to resize the image. 1. If the image dimensions (width & height) are within max dimensions I use a simple "copy" direct to folder UserPics. 2. If the original dimensions are bigger than max dimensions I want to resize the width and height to be within max. Both of them are uploading the image to the folder, but in case 2, the image will not be resized. QUESTION Is there something wrong with the script? Is there something wrong with the settings?   • Method for launching audio player on Android from web page for streaming media

    To link to SHOUTcast/HTTP internet radio streams, traditionally you would link to a playlist file, such as an M3U or PLS. From there, the browser would launch the audio player registered to handle the playlist. This works great on any PC, Palm, Blackberry, and iPhone. This method does not work in Android without installing extra software. Sure, Just Playlists or StreamFurious can handle it just fine, but I am assuming there has to be a way to invoke the audio or video player commonly installed by default on Android installations. By default, no audio player is capable of handling M3U or PLS. The player seems to open it, but says "Unsupported Media Type". To make this more annoying, the browser is capable of streaming MP3 audio over HTTP, simply by opening a link to an MP3 file. I have tried simply linking directly to the MP3 stream hosted by SHOUTcast, which should end up in the same result, but SHOUTcast detects "Mozilla" in the user-agent string, and instead of sending the stream, it sends the information page for the station. How should I link to a SHOUTcast stream on Android, from a normal mobile site, without using extra applications?

    Does anyone know how I can get Axis2 to use a non-coalescing XMLStreamReader when it parses a SOAP message? I am writing code that reads a large base64 binary text element. Coalescing is the default behaviour, and this causes the default XMLStreamReader to load the entire text into memory rather than returning multiple CHARACTERS events.     Does ASP.NET MVC offer any simple way to get model binding to work when you have model classes that inherit from others? In my scenario I have a View that is strongly typed to List<Person>. I have a couple of classes that inherit from Person, namely PersonTypeOne and PersonTypeTwo. I have three strongly typed partial views with names that match these class names (and render form elements for the properties of their respective models). This means that in my main View I can have the following code: <% for(int i = 0; i < Model.Count; i++) { Html.RenderPartial(Model[i].GetType().Name, Model[i]); } %> This works well, apart from when the user submits the form the relevant controller action method just gets a List<Person>, rather than a list of Person, PersonTypeOne and PersonTypeTwo. This is pretty much as expected as the form submission doesn't contain enough information to tell the default model binder to create any instances of PersonTypeOne and PersonTypeTwo classes. So, is there any way to get such functionality from the default model binder?

  • Printing images with same orientation in Windows 7

    I have generated many graphs (GraphViz .dot, about 35 pcs) from a grammar and then I generated .png files from it. All of them are small graphs with a few (2 to 5) nodes on it. I would like to print them, 9 or 12 per page. The problem is that Windows 7 Print Pictures guesses orientation for every image on the grid individually. How can I force Windows 7 Print Pictures to use the same orientation for all pictures (use the files as-is, just do the fitting) What alternative solution can I use for my task which does not include repetitive manual labor? (OS: Windows 7 64 bit, regularly updated.) Thanks in advance!

  • Unable to ping server from client B but able to ping from client A. Please help

    This is not really a programming question, but I am at my wit's end ... I am trying to configure a IIS 6.0/Windows Server 2003 web server with a ASP.net application. When I try to ping the server from client computer A I get the following: PING 74.208.192.xxx ==> Ping fails PING 74.208.192.xxx:80 ==> Ping succeeds! From client computer B, BOTH the pings fail. PING 74.208.192.xxx ==> Ping fails PING 74.208.192.xxx:80 ==> Ping fails with a message "Ping request could not find host 74.208.192.xxx:80" Both clients A and B are on the same subnet. The server is outside (a virtual server hosted by an ISP) I have an ASP.NET application in a virtual directory on the server. In IE or firefox, if I enter http://74.208.192.xxx/subdir/subdir/../Default.aspx, it works from both the clients! The server has default firewall settings but web server enabled (Port 80 is open).

  • Uiimport does not save variable to base workspace

    I tried using uiimport to load a file to the base workspace.....It worked first time....but after trying again after a while...I wasnt seeing the variable in the base work space. I used the default variable name which is given by 'uiimport". This was the command I used: uiimport(filename) And two variables where created by default..."data" and "textdata"(which is the header)....but now when i run it is no longer saved in the base workspace I do not want to assign a variable to the uiimport like so... K = uiimport(filename) assignin(base,'green',K) I do not want to do that because My dataset has a text header and the data itself, and doing this would assign both "textdata" and "data" to "green" variable How would I be able to get the dimensions of ONLY the "data" in green and how would I pass only "data"(which is in the green variable in the workspace.."rmbr"...the green variable holds both "data" and "textdata") to another function. I was able to do all this when the uiimport automatically saved the variables in the base workspace....but somehow now it doesn't. I would appreciate any help or tips on this matter

  • Long running transactions with Spring and Hibernate?

    The underlying problem I want to solve is running a task that generates several temporary tables in MySQL, which need to stay around long enough to fetch results from Java after they are created. Because of the size of the data involved, the task must be completed in batches. Each batch is a call to a stored procedure called through JDBC. The entire process can take half an hour or more for a large data set. To ensure access to the temporary tables, I run the entire task, start to finish, in a single Spring transaction with a TransactionCallbackWithoutResult. Otherwise, I could get a different connection that does not have access to the temporary tables (this would happen occasionally before I wrapped everything in a transaction). This worked fine in my development environment. However, in production I got the following exception: java.sql.SQLException: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction This happened when a different task tried to access some of the same tables during the execution of my long running transaction. What confuses me is that the long running transaction only inserts or updates into temporary tables. All access to non-temporary tables are selects only. From what documentation I can find, the default Spring transaction isolation level should not cause MySQL to block in this case. So my first question, is this the right approach? Can I ensure that I repeatedly get the same connection through a Hibernate template without a long running transaction? If the long running transaction approach is the correct one, what should I check in terms of isolation levels? Is my understanding correct that the default isolation level in Spring/MySQL transactions should not lock tables that are only accessed through selects? What can I do to debug which tables are causing the conflict, and prevent those tables from being locked by the transaction?

  • UITouch Events and Table Views

    I'm working on a navigation-based iPhone-only app that serves two main purposes: One, to present data in a hierarchical view, allowing users to drill down and eventually edit said data, and, two, to all users to perform a default action when the table view cell is tapped. I now need to offer a small set of options tied to the same data; however, both the didSelectRowAtIndexPath: and accessoryButtonTappedForRowAtIndexPath: methods are obviously taken. So, my options seem to be to implement a double-tap method, wherein the small list of additional options would be presented after (you guessed it) a double-tap on said table row; or, preferably, a tap-and-hold method. From what I can tell, tap-and-hold seems like the way to go in SDK 4.0 - which does me no good right this red-hot minute. I decided to go with the double-tap option, but I'm having a little trouble. First and foremost, the touchesBegan:withEvent: method does not seem to be getting called at all; a breakpoint placed within the method is never called while the application runs, and the table view responds exactly as it did before I inserted the method (which is to say, it performs the default action): - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *aTouch = [touches anyObject]; if (aTouch.tapCount == 2) { [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self]; } } Second, I don't really need to handle a single-tap - the didSelectRowAtIndexPath: method can handle the single-tap just fine. The double-tap is the funky one I want to handle. I suspect the answer is going to contain the phrase, "You can't have the table view handle the single-tap and the touchesBegan: method handle the double-tap. The touch handling methods have to handle all of them." I would really appreciate some guidance from some of you who've dealt with this issue. Thanks in advance.

    Background: I have a asp.net webapplication project that should contain a public and a member area. Now I want to implement a SSL decription to secure communication between the client and the server. (In the university we have a unsecured wireless network and you can use a wlan sniffer to read username/password. I do not want to have this security problem for my application, so I thought of a ssl decription) The application is running on a IIS 7.5. It it possible to have one webapp that has unsecured pages (like the public area) and a secured area (like the member area, which requires a login)? If yes, how can I relealise the communication between these too areas? Example: My webapp is hosted on http://foo.abc. I have pages like http://foo.abc/default.aspx and http://foo.abc/foo.aspx. In the same project is page like /member/default.aspx which is protected by a login on the page http://foo.abc/login.aspx. So I would need to implement SSL for the page /login.aspx and all pages in /member/ How can I do that? I just found out how to create SSL certificates in IIS 7.5 and how to add such a binding to a webapp. How how can I tell my webapp which page should be called with https and not with http. What is the best practise there?

Everything works when I install it in the root of the virtual host: http://domain/ http://domain/home http://domain/home/index The problem happens when I try to install the framework in a subdirectory like: http://domain/blog/ Requests like: http://domain/blog/home http://domain/blog/home/index All of those requests should be sent to the index.php file that lives in /blog My current set up is: http://domain/index.php - This file just prints out 'we are in the root of the virtual host' The framework is not installed there. http://domain/blog - This works fine When I try to got to http://domain/blog/home I get the roots index.php file not the frameworks. I get the message 'we are in the root of the virtual host'. I have the following .htaccess file located at http://domain/blog/.htaccess RewriteEngine on Options Indexes FollowSymLinks -MultiViews RewriteBase /blog/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule !\.(js|ico|gif|jpg|png|css)$ index.php Any help is greatly appreciated.     Hello, I am new to Javascript and Web development and I have a question regarding the document.location.href. I am using a cookie for storing the language the user prefers and then load the english or the swedish version depending on the language. The default language in the beginning is the same as the browser's language, and my index.jsp is the swedish one. The first time everything works fine. The problem is when the cookie exists already. The basic code is: if (language!=null && language!=""){ if (language=="en-US" || language=="en-us") document.location.href = "en/index.jsp"; } else{ //Explorer if (navigator.userLanguage) language = navigator.userLanguage; //other browsers else language = (navigator.language) ? navigator.language : navigator.userLanguage; if (language!=null && language!=""){ setCookie('language', language, 365, '/', 'onCheck'); if (language=="en-US" || language=="en-us") document.location.href = "en/index.jsp"; else if(language=="sv") document.location.href="index.jsp"; } } When the cookie exists we enter the first "if", and there, if the language is swedish it opens the default blabla/index.jsp page. When the language is set to engish it should open the blabla/en/index.jsp but instead it opens the blabla/en/en/index.jsp which of course is wrong. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?? Thanks

    Our team is still in a love / hate relationship with it. I am hoping to put an end to the debate by having an internal vote on what rules should be excluded and which rules should be added. Before doing so, I wanted to ask others SO users. To standardize (but not limit) the responses: What is your current StyleCop version? What .Net version do you currently target? Which default rules did you turn off? Which non-default rules have you turned on? Have you coded your own rules? Please describe. Do you have any other StyleCop tricks worth sharing? Do you use Resharper? What version? Is it a good bang for the buck? Do you use any other tools for .Net / C++ which integrate with Visual Studio and aid development? Did you get your money's worth? I deployed a large EAR (contained more than ~1024 jars/wars) on JBoss running with Java 6 on Linux, and the deployment process cried throwing the following exception: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file) at org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException.rethrowAsDeploymentException(DeploymentException.java:53) at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.init(MainDeployer.java:901) at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.init(MainDeployer.java:895) at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.deploy(MainDeployer.java:809) at org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer.deploy(MainDeployer.java:782) .... Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file at org.jboss.util.file.JarArchiveBrowser.<init>(JarArchiveBrowser.java:74) at org.jboss.util.file.FileProtocolArchiveBrowserFactory.create(FileProtocolArchiveBrowserFactory.java:48) at org.jboss.util.file.ArchiveBrowser.getBrowser(ArchiveBrowser.java:57) at org.jboss.ejb3.EJB3Deployer.hasEjbAnnotation(EJB3Deployer.java:213) .... This was caused by the 'limit of number of open file descriptors' of Linux/Unix operating systems. The default is 1024. You can check the default value using: ulimit -n To increase the number of open file descriptors (say to 2048): ulimit -n 2048 Check the man page of ulimit for more details.

  • IIS7 integrated mode MVC deploy 404 not found on some actions

    Hello. Once deployed parts of my web-application stop working. Index-es on each controller do work, and one form posting via Ajax, other then that yields 404. I understand that nothing particular should be done in integrated mode. One interesting thing is that 1 AJAX action is working. I don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting. Some info: App is using default app pool set to integrated mode. WebApp is done in net framework 3.5. I use default routing model. Along web.config in root there is web.config in /View folder referencing HttpNotFoundHandler. OS is Windows Server 2008. Admins issued aspnet_regiis.exe -i IIS 7 Any help is appreciated. Thx. EDIT: Noticed one very strange thing. One ajax call works, other ajax call doesn't works as I login, but when I move to ther page and return to that one it starts working ?!
