    My knowledge of mysql is not very in depth. If I have two tables that for example look like this: Table1 Date v1 v2 v3 05/01/2010 26 abc 45 05/02/2010 31 def 25 05/03/2010 50 ghi 46 Table2 Date v1 v2 v3 05/01/2010 42 jkl 15 05/02/2010 28 mno 14 05/03/2010 12 pqr 64 How can I join them in a query by their date and have the sum of table1.v1 and table2.v1 and also have the sum of table1.v3 and table2.v3. V2 should be ignored.

  • Problem with GwtUpload on GAE

    I'm using GwtUpload to upload images on GAE. The problem is that the images seem to get much bigger when I move them into a blob. I've noticed the same for simple text fields and in that case I've realised that some weirdo characters are being appended to the end of the field values (encoding right?).   • Tutorial for texture mapping a map onto an Open GL ES sphere?

    I'm not looking for a library or even open source code. I want to learn how to do this on my own. Where do I start to find an online tutorial, a book chapter, or other educational material for generating a polygonal model of a 3D sphere suitable for feeding to Open GL ES on an iPhone, and then mapping the polygons to some sort of 2D map data so I can texture map the sphere? Is there some sort of software tool (blenders? mayan?) with a tutorial on how to do generate this data? Where is the best place to start?

  • GoogleTv video using VideoView is clipped, even though its in a separate layout of its own

    Wrote an application for GoogleTV box to play a video. The video is a separate activity to the main activity. Wired up a button on my main layout/activity to to start the video activity up (using its own video.xml layout), the video activity loads and starts playing, but the video is clipped, only showing a few centimetres of the bottom. The clipped region looks like the views that occupied the previous layout (main.xml) . The intriguing thing is that if I push the back button, before returning to the main activity the full video frame is shown. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Any suggestions welcome.   • Cross browser (chrome/firefox) trying to get top-pos defined in percentage as pixels

    I have a problem whit cross browser output, I'm trying to get the top and left css attribute of a div, but firefox gives me the exact pixel position and Chrome give me the percentage.   • Google's OpenID identifier is different depending on the "consumer" domain name. How to avoid potent

    I'm currently testing an OpenID implementation, and I'm noticing that Google sends a different identifier for different consuming host name / domain name, even for the same user. For example, Google sends a different identifier when the requesting site is localhost, compared to the identifier they send when the requesting site is 127.0.0.1 for the same user. Note: I haven't actually tested this using public domain names, but I can't see why the behavior would be any different. My concern with Google's behavior is that if we ever choose to change our website domain name in the future, then users will no longer be able to log in to the website using Google's OpenId as the identity provider. This seems to be a big problem. Am I missing something, or are all OpenID consuming sites faced with this potential problem? I've also tested this with MyOpenId, but the identifier that MyOpenId creates is fixed, so this wouldn't be a problem with them. Thanks.

    Hiya All, I have a rather strange bug which i can't make sense of that is apearing in webkit based browsers (chrome and safari). When this page http://bluprintliving.mammalworld.com/turnmill-street loads for the first time the content seems to jump out of the container but only at the end of the render. on refresh it stays in and behaves. Generally the page in cache and out of cache looks different. Anyone have any ideas or clues they can shed on this issue? Much appreciated.   • Unique task queue task names only for active duration

    I want to guarantee that a task is not in a task queue more then once, so I generate a unique name based on it's payload. But, that task name is reserved for up to 7 days, which is not what I want; I only want it reserved for the duration the task is queued; it could be immediately re-queued. Once a Task with name N is written, any subsequent attempts to insert a Task named N will fail. Eventually (at least seven days after the task successfully executes), the task will be deleted and the name N can be reused. Is there a way to check if the named task is already in the queue then add it if it's not? Or a totally different approach?

  • FB.logout not working in IE8

    I've integrated facebook login with my application and I want to logout the user from facebook when he logs out of my application. So I did the following: <a href="<c:url value='/security_logout'/>" onclick="FB.logout();">Logout</a> This works on Firefox and Chrome but doesn't work on IE8. In IE8 the user is logged out of the application but is not logged out of Facebook. Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Static files in (Java) App Engine not accessible.

    The example documentation says that you simply need to place your files in war/ (or a subdirectory) and they should be accessible from the host (as long as they aren't JSPs or in WEB-INF). For example, if you place foo.css in war/ then you should be able to access it at http://localhost:8080/foo.css. However, this isn't working for me at all. NONE of my static files are accessible. The docs on appengine-web.xml say that you can also specifically denote certain types as static. I've tried this as well and it makes no difference. Am I missing something obvious? UPDATE: Turns out one of the mappings in my web.xml was a little too aggressive. The following was the culprit: <servlet> <servlet-name>Main</servlet-name> <servlet-class>MainServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Main</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> It seems that it was grabbing everything that wasn't grabbed be one of the other rules, which I don't understand because there was no * on the end of the url-pattern. It also seems to be directly contradictory to the documentation that says: Note: Static files, files that are served verbatim to users such as images, CSS or JavaScript, are handled separately from paths mentioned in the deployment descriptor. A request for a URL path that matches a path to a file in the WAR that's considered a static file will serve the file, regardless of servlet and filter mappings in the deployment descriptor. You can exclude files from those treated as static files using the appengine-web.xml file. So, how can I have a rule that matches the base of my domain (eg. http://www.example.com/) and still allows the static files to filter through?

  • Unable to persist objects in GAE JDO

    Hello Guys, I am completely fresh to both JDO and GAE, and have been struggling to get my data layer to persist any code at all! The issues I am facing may be very simple, but I just cant seem to find any a way no matter what solution I try. Firstly the problem: (Slightly simplified, but still contains all the info necessary) My data model is as such: User: (primary key) String emailID String firstName Car: (primary key) User user (primary key) String registration String model This was the initial datamodel. I implemented a CarPK object to get a composite primary key of the User and the registration. However that ran into a variety of issues. (Which i will save for another time/question) I then changed the design as such: User: (Unchanged) Car: (primary key) String fauxPK (here fauxPK = user.getEmailID() + SEP + registration) User user String registration String model This works fine for the user, and it can insert and retrieve user objects. However when i try to insert a Car Object, i get the following error: "Cannot have a java.lang.String primary key and be a child object" Found the following helpful link about it: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2063467/persist-list-of-objects Went to the link suggested there, that explains how to create Keys, however they keep talking about "Entity Groups" and "Entity Group Parents". But I cant seem to find any articles or sites that explain what are "Entity Group"s or an "Entity Group Parents" I could try fiddling around some more to figure out if i can store an object somehow, But I am running sort on patience and also would rather understand and implement than vice versa. So i would appreciate any docs (even if its huge) that covers all these points, and preferably has some examples that go beyond the very basic data modeling.   • Issue on passing a checkbox set to an AppEngine script through jQuery Ajax/Json

    I have a set of checkboxes with multiple choice allowed. I parse the set this way: if ($("input[name='route_day']:checked").length > 0) { $("input[name='route_day']:checked").each(function(){ if(this.value != null) route_days_hook.push(this.value); }); dataTrap.route_days = $.JSON.encode(route_days_hook); } ...and pull the whole dataTrap to an AppEngine Python script via jQuery ajax. However, the Python script just bugs. If i change dataTrap.route_days value to a string instead of the JSON encoded object, everything works fine. My question is: how can i pass a checkbox set to the script using Ajax and still be able to iterate over it on the script?
