• .NET vs Mono differences in Development

  I'm looking into Mono and .NET C#, we'll be needing to run the code on Linux Servers in the future when the project is developed. At this point I've been looking at ASP.NET MVC and Mono I run an ubuntu distro and want to do development for a web application, some of the other developers use windows and run other .NET items with Visual Studio. What does Mono not provide that Visual Studio does? If running this on Linux later shouldn't we use Mono Develop ? Is there some third party tools or addin's that might be an issue with Mono later?

• Android: Prompt user to save changes when Back button is pressed

  I have an activity that contains several user editable items (an EditText field, RatingBar, etc). I'd like to prompt the user if the back/home button is pressed and changes have been made that have not yet been saved. After reading through the android documentation, it seems like this piece of code should go in the onPause method. I've tried putting an AlertDialog in the onPause however the dialog gets shown and then immediately tears down because nothing is there to block the pause from completing. • How to write a tool, inverting colors in Windows?

  I read a topic in this site about it, but decided to post another one as I want to write such a tool, but I don't have much experience in C# & .NET, so it could take me too much time just digging the Net, while someone can just direct me to the right library or classes to be used. So, straight to the point. I want to write a tool that, when activated, inverts absolutely all items on the screen and lets you work that way without torturing your eyes with bright light colors. Does anyone have an idea of the needed .NET libraries or third-party frameworks, to implement this? Any help will be greatly appreciated! P.S. Changing to "High Contrast" theme in Windows is not the solution I seek, so please, don't mention it!

I'm looking to record the order that these buttons are pressed and enter them into an array and then compare it to another array that is static in the app. The check should be done on the Nth button press, where N equals the number of items in the other, static array. How do I A) have a button press add a value to an array B) stop after Nth button press equal to amount of numbers in the array I'm checking against and C) compare this array to the other array?

  what would be the impact on SEO of changing the text of the <h1> dynamically on the server side each time the web page loads? I'm not talking about changing the whole text, just part of it, for example if the header contains some fixed text (with keywords of course), and also contains the current date or time/the current number of logged on users/the count of items current in stock/whatever. how would that affect my ranking? is it bad? doesn't make a difference? thanks.

  I have a SharePoint list I converted to XSLT to do some additional grouping and counting and percentages. I need to return the number of items = true within my nodeset, I have: <xsl:value-of select="count($nodeset/@PartnerArrivedAtCall)"/> (which returns the count of all the nodes) I have tried <xsl:value-of select="count($nodeset/@PartnerArrivedAtCall [@PartnerArrivedAtCall = 'Yes'])"/> (returns zero) and <xsl:variable name="ArrivedYes" select="$nodeset/@PartnerArrivedAtCall [@PartnerArrivedAtCall='Yes']"/> (also returns zero) Can you please give me a good example of how to count only the true values (in my XML, true = "Yes") Thanks!

• Xcode puts Default.png in my plist as an Icon file when I assign a Launch Image

  When I set a Launch Image, Xcode creates a copy as Default.png and creates an entry in my plist in Icon Files (IOS 5) / Primary Icon / Icon Items -- Item 1 : Default.png Item 0 : MyIcon.png is the app icon which I have already placed through the Target. The reason this is a problem is that the launch image then takes precedence over the actual icon and as a result, it shows as the primary icon instead of my actual icon image. Why is Xcode doing this? Can I safely delete the Default.png entry from my .plist? (this seems to fix the problem) Do I need to copy Default.png somewhere else? Thanks!

• Infinite recursion trying to check all elements of a TreeCtrl

  I have a TreeCtrl in which more than one Item can be assigned the same object as PyData. When the object is updated, I want to update all of the items in the tree which have that object as their PyData. I thought the following code would solve the problem quite neatly, but for some reason the logical test (current != self.GetFirstVisibleItem()) always returns true leading to infinite recursion. • Extjs 3.4 - Button Icon does not show or does not center

  I want to fill a button with an icon I created but whatever I have tried just seems to put the icon either half cut off and way left, or it doesn't show at all. I've been trying different combinations of CSS and the icon, iconcls, cls button options. I was following the Ext 3 buttons example page but that doesn't seem to display anything for me...   Hi All, I have a bit of code that works with a result set called "result" (original I know) but depending on the incoming variable I'd like to fire the specific query depending. I have the below in an if statement but that just makes the "result" recordset gets those nasty red lines and it doesn't work.   Hello all, I have been reading StackOverflow for a while and now I have a question I cannot find an answer to. i am trying to fade a background and increase on img size on rollover. I have tried animate() and fadeTo(), however, the entire div fades. Do I need to absolute position my images over the div and not within it? img or img? Is that the only way to get items within a div to not fade along with the background? Thanks! Jason

  Hi, I use VS2008 C# + Windows Forms. I can't understand why comboBox does not behave the way it should. In Design mode, I added a comboBox to my form, and edit Items to add "A" and "B". Double-clicking brings me to SelectedIndexChanged event, which I edit to display the selected text with MessageBox. private void comboBoxImageSet_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show(comboBoxImageSet.SelectedText); } When I run, and select "A" or "B" in the comboBox, the MessageBox appears, but nothing is written. • Representing parent-child relationships in SharePoint lists

  I need to create some functionality in our SharePoint app that populates a list or lists with some simple hierarchical data. Each parent record will represent a "submission" and each child record will be a "submission item." There's a 1-to-n relationship between submissions and submission items. Is this practical to do in SharePoint? The only types of list relationships I've done so far are lookup columns, but this seems a bit different. Also, once such a list relationship is established, then what's the best way to create views on this kind of data. I'm almost convinced that it'd be easier just to write this stuff to an external database, but I'd like to give SharePoint a shot in order to take advantage of the automated search capabilities.

• Escaping if/else in Jade template

  So I have a simply block of html in my jade template with a loop: each dude, i in dudes div(class='someClass') div.otherStuff span.someContent #{name} I want to apply a data attribute to my top most div when a certain looping condition is met, in this case the first dude, I set it up like this each dude, i in dudes if i == 0 div(class='someClass, data-someAttr='first dude') else div(class='someClass') div.otherstuff span.someContent Setup like this it causes the div.otherStuff div and the span.someContent to only display on the else condition. I've moved the tab spaces around on those items but I can't get it escape that else and give the div.otherStuff and span.someContent to both the first dude and the subsequent dudes after that. I've also tried setting that data attr to a variable and trying to apply it that way but without any success. What I end up doing to get around it is this: each dude, i in dudes if i == 0 div(class='someClass, data-someAttr='first dude') div.otherstuff span.someContent else div(class='someClass') div.otherstuff span.someContent How do I escape that if/else so I dont have to duplicate the div.otherStuff and span.someContent?

  I used to use Spring.Net and want to switch to Ninject 1.5 (I have to use .NET2, since some unlucky guy like me still needs to consider users working with win 2k). I used to have everything done in xml and only invoke the container during startup. In this way, only very limited codes are depending on container. I have scenarios like this and I wonder how to do the same in Ninject. I have external config file, which are the items the end users can change basing on their environment/preferences. And some of my objects depends on those values to initialize. Mostly they are primary values, but some times can be list/dictionaries/etc.

I've learned that in c it's not straightforward to return an array, so I'd like to return this as a struct instead. Name(String) : Count(String) : Amount(String) Currently I am writing the database when someone is trying to access a section then reading from the database. The writing is taking too long. So my question is how can I perhaps create a nested array where I can say if name = carrot then print carrot['count'] and carrot['amount']. I am very new to Java so some sample code would be great. Or any other suggestions that you may have as far as tackling this issue.

• Does an HTTPS SharePoint Site Need to Use HTTPS-Compliant Web Parts?

  I am new to SharePoint, so this question may be a little naive. However, I sincerely appreciate any help with this. We are planning to create a new sub-site within our company's intranet site, which is built on SharePoint 2007. We want to add a 3rd-party weather web part (which is just a widget to display the local weather forecast) to the home page of the new intranet site. Since the intranet site uses HTTPS, do we need to find an HTTPS-compliant web part? Or, is it possible to use any web part and then configure it to use HTTPS? I'm assuming that if we use a non-HTTPS web part, then users will get some sort of "This page contains both secure and non-secure items" error message when they load the page.
