How to convert DateTime to shortdatetime in C#??

I have a column in my datatable which is of DateTime Type. I only want the DatePart, hence when I use the ToShortDateTimeString it converts to short date but of string type. Hence when i reassign the string to the column of the datatable it again appends 12:00:00 to it. I cannot change the column type in my datatable. Is there any way to convert DateTime to ShortDateTime directly without converting to string?????

Is there a problem with the code or is WordPress meddling with the process?

Hiding an internal interface in a "friend" assembly

I have two assemblies: A and B. A has InternalsVisibleTo set for B. I would like to make calls from A to get information that can only be known by a type defined in B in a way that keeps things internal. I can do this using an internal interface defined in A and implemented explicitly in B. Assembly A internal interface IHasData { Data GetData(); } class ClassA { DoSomething(IHasData); } Assembly B public abstract class ClassB : IHasData { Data IHasData.GetData() { /** do something internal **/ } } The trouble comes when someone references assembly B and derives from ClassB - they get the error: "The type 'AssemblyA.IHasData' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced" even though that type should be invisible to them. If I look at the public type definition I see what I expect - ClassB with no interfaces implemented. Why do I get this error? All of the implementation is in assembly B. I could use IHasData internally in ClassB and that wouldn't require assembly A to be referenced. Can someone help me understand what is going on?

No Debug information of an iPhone app

Shadowbox not working in IE

Hi guys, I have a bit of a problem with my shadowbox, it works fine in FF, but it refuses to work in IE 7 or 8. There is a Special table, SpecialTag table, and then a SpecialTagging table which is the many to many mapping table between Special and SpecialTag. Can a Generic Method handle both Reference and Nullable Value types?

I have a series of Extension methods to help with null-checking on IDataRecord objects, which I'm currently implementing like this: public static int? GetNullableInt32(this IDataRecord dr, string fieldname) { int ordinal = dr.GetOrdinal(fieldname); return dr.GetNullableInt32(ordinal); } and so on, for each type I need to deal with. I'd like to reimplement these as a generic method, partly to reduce redundancy and partly to learn how to write generic methods in general. I've written this: public static Nullable<T> GetNullable<T>(this IDataRecord dr, int ordinal) { Nullable<T> nullValue = null; return dr.IsDBNull(ordinal) ? nullValue : (Nullable<T>) dr.GetValue(ordinal); } which works as long as T is a value type, but if T is a reference type it won't. This method would need to return either a Nullable type if T is a value type, and default(T) otherwise. How would I implement this behavior?

how to refactor user-permission system?

Sorry for lengthy question. I can't tell if this should be a programming question or a project management question. Any advice will help. I inherited a reasonably large web project (1 year old) from a solo freelancer who architected it then abandoned it. The project was a mess, but I cleaned up what I could, and now the system is more maintainable. I need suggestions on how to extend the user-permission system. As it is now, the database has a t_user table with the column t_user.membership_type. Currently, there are 4 membership types with the following properties: 3 of the membership types are almost functionally the same, except for the different monthly fees each must pay 1 of the membership type is a "fake-user" type which has limited access ( different business logic also applies) With regards to the fake-user type, if you look in the system's business logic files, you will see a lot of hard-coded IF statements that do something like if (fake-user) { // do something } else { // a paid member of type 1,2 or 3 // proceed normally } My client asked me to add 3 more membership types to the system, each of them with unique features to be implemented this month, and substantive "to-be-determined" features next month. My first reaction is that I need to refactor the user-permission system. But it concerns me that I don't have enough information on the "to-be-determined" membership type features for next month. Refactoring the user-permission system will take a substantive amount of time. I don't want to refactor something and throw it out the following month. I get substantive feature requests on a monthly basis that come out of the blue. There is no project road map. I've asked my client to provide me with a roadmap of what they intend to do with the new membership types, but their answer is along the lines of "We just want to do [feature here] this month. We'll think of something new next month." So questions that come to mind are: 1) Is it dangerous for me to refactor the user permission system not knowing what membership type features exist beyond a month from now? 2) Should I refactor the user permission system regardless? Or just continue adding IF statements as needed in all my controller files? Or can you recommend a different approach to user permission systems? Maybe role-based ? 3) Should this project have a road map? For a 1 year old project like mine, how far into the future should this roadmap project? 4) Any general advice on the best way to add 3 new membership types?

Is there a Scala version of .irbrc or another way to define some default libraries for REPL use?

I've written a little library that uses implicits to add functionality that one only needs when using the REPL in Scala. Ruby has libraries like this - for things like pretty printing, firing up text editors (like the interactive_editor gem which invokes Vim from irb - see this post), debuggers and the like. The library I am trying to write adds some methods to java.lang.Class and java.lang.reflect classes using the 'pimp my library' implicit conversion process to help you go and find documentation (initially, with Google, then later possibly with a JavaDoc/ScalaDoc viewer, and maybe the StackOverflow API eventually!). It's an itch-scratching library: I spend so much time copying and pasting classnames into Google that I figured I may as well automate the process. It is the sort of functionality that developers will want to add to their system for use only in the REPL - they shouldn't really be adding it to projects (partly because it may not be something that their fellow developers want, but also because if you are doing some exploratory development, it may be with just a Scala REPL that's not being invoked by an IDE or build tool). In my case, I want to include a few classes and set up some implicits - include a .jar on the CLASSPATH and import it, basically. In Ruby, this is the sort of thing that you'd add to your .irbrc file. Other REPLs have similar ways of setting options and importing libraries. Is there a similar file or way of doing this for the Scala REPL?

Hi all, I'm doing NSString *_type_ = @"report"; NSNumber *_id_ = [NSNumber numberWithInt:report.reportId]; NSDictionary *paramObj = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: _id_, @"bla1", _type_, @"bla2",nil]; _operation = [[NSInvocationOperation alloc] initWithTarget:self selector:@selector(initParsersetId:) object:paramObj]; But my _operation object is nil even after processing this line. The selector here is actually a function I'm writing which is like: -(void)initParsersetId:(NSInteger)_id_ type:(NSString *)_type_ { NSString *urlStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"apimediadetails?id=624&type=report"]; NSString *finalURLstr = [urlStr stringByAppendingString:URL]; NSURL *url = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:finalURLstr]; NSXMLParser *xmlParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url]; //Initialize the delegate. I've got problem with binding data type boolean to checkbox in MVC 2 data annotations Here's my code sample: label> Is Hot </label> <%=Html.CheckBoxFor(model => model.isHot, new {@class="input" })%> It always raise this error message below at (model=model.isHot). Cannot convert lambda expression to delegate type 'System.Func<Framework.Models.customer,bool>' because some of the return types in the block are not implicitly convertible to the delegate return type Cannot implicitly convert type 'bool?' to 'bool'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) Please suggest me how can I solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I want to set an observer for each of the following checkboxes: <div id="listr"> <ul id="lr" style="list-style-type: none"> <p class="tir">Text 1</p> <li class="ro"><input type="checkbox" name="r1" id="r1"/>A1</li> <li class="ro"><input type="checkbox" name="r2" />A2</li> <p class="tir">Text 2</p> <li class="rubro"><input type="checkbox" name="r3" />B1</li> <p class="tir">Text 3</p> <li class="ro"><input type="checkbox" name="r4" />B2</li> </ul> </div> It works if I write one observer per checkbox, but I want to do it in a short fashion, so I need something like $$('listr.lr.li.input').invoke('observe',click,function(field) { alert(this.name + ' clicked ' + this.checked); // other stuff ... }); Which is not working Thanks in advance
