  • libcurl (c api) READFUNCTION for http PUT blocking forever

    I am using libcurl for a RESTful library. I am having two problems with a PUT message, I am just trying to send a small content like "hello" via put. My READFUNCTION for PUT's blocks for a very large amount of time (minutes) when I follow the manual at curl.haxx.se and return a 0 indicating I have finished the content. (on os X) When I return something 0 this succeeds much faster (< 1 sec) When I run this on my linux machine (ubuntu 10.4) this blocking event appears to NEVER return when I return 0, if I change the behavior to return the size written libcurl appends all the data in the http body sending way more data and it fails with a "too much data" message from the server. my readfunction is below, any help would be greatly appreciated.     I am creating a windows app that uses a vector of stings as a member variable. For some reason, I can compile but when it tries to get at any of the vectors members is crashes. the error is 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xcdcdcdd9. in the member function of the vector class. this is the size() function where it breaks. size_type capacity() const { // return current length of allocated storage return (this->_Myend - this->_Myfirst); } I am using visual studios 2010. thank you Django

  • Suddenly Facebook API stopped working on Windows Phone

    My code hasn't changed, it was working yesterday or so. I can oauth, get the token but then doing the following: WebClient wc = new WebClient(); wc.DownloadStringCompleted += result; wc.DownloadStringAsync(new Uri("https://graph.facebook.com/me&access_token=xxxTOKENxxx", UriKind.Absolute)); Returns a NotFound WebClient exception: "The remote server returned an error: NotFound." Strange thing is that when pasting that same url on Chrome or IE it does work(PC). Tried on Emulator and on 2 different real WP devices, even pasting the same url on the WP browser. Feels like facebook is rejecting Windows Phone for some reason? Anyone has an idea of what might be happening?

    Is it possible to automatically detect, which certificate was used for signing APK? I'd like to have both debug and release Maps certificates in application and pass valid one to MapView constructor. With such setup I will not make mistake while releasing application - I'm using debug certificate on emulator and my device, then sign with release one before sending app to Market. I was thinking about detecting my particular device or whether debugger is connected but it is not perfect. Maybe some file marking need for debug certificate? Is there any better way?

  • Are there any NOSQL-compatible CMS projects?

    This question is partially related to an older question (Any CMS is Google App Engine compatible?) , but is slightly more general. It seems that in most CMS systems, the most fragile failure point is the database. Traditional database implementations scale poorly and will never be able to handle unforeseen spikes of traffic. Since Google App Engine was designed to help even small businesses overcome that problem, I had the same question that was asked earlier this year with less than satisfactory answers. But more generally, where are the CMS projects that support NOSQL databases? Looking over Wikipedia's list of CMS platforms, I see without much effort that only traditional RDBMS are supported by every single vendor on the list. I would have expected to see at least one or two projects handling CouchDB or similar engines. I understand the complexities of implementing a NOSQL solution to a problem that is typically solved using the relations cleanly expressed in any RDBMS, but there seems to be a rather wide market gap. Since databases are, today, easily outsourced to Google, Amazon, and others which use NOSQL models, I am amazed that there are not more projects actively pursuing this path. Am I simply not aware? Can someone please point me to projects that have real momentum that are developing on this path? I'm looking for two things: a CMS that has as its backbone a NOSQL database enabling easy database outsourcing (hosted MySQL clusters and similar solutions are not what I'm looking for) a project that is built to run on either a PaaS architecture like Google App Engine or an IaaS architecture like Amazon EC2 Any pointers in that direction would be most welcome.

    If I create this collection: IEnumerable<_TITLE> _titles = null; How can I set the result set from Netflix in this expression: _titles = from t in Titles where t.Id == "ApUFq" select new {t, t.Cast} I am getting: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Linq.IQueryable' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<_Title'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) I understand it's because I am using an anonymous type. _TITLE is a custom complex object I create that exposes a subset of Netflix properties. If I add "_TITLE" in front the of the "new" it says that my object does not implement IENUMBERABLE. If then _TITLE implements IENUMBERABLE, it says _TITLE does not contain a definition for ADD and still getting conversion error. Basically, I want to set the _TITLE properties with the data returned from Netflix. I have defined _TITLE to contain the fields I need, plus a collection of PERSON (for Cast).

    I'm currently migrating an application from Linq-to-SQL & ASP.net Web Services (asmx) to Entity Framework and WCF. My question is, I have a bunch of POCO classes which i have xml mapping files for (for the linq to sql) I've replaced my linq to sql with an entity framework data model I've got an interface - something like IService - that has all the methods on it that i need my service to implement - for example: Product[] GetProductsByKeyword(string keyword); In the above case, Product is a POCO. I now have them as entities within my ef data model - i'm using .net 4, and could take advantage of poco support, but don't really see the need - This service is strictly read only. What's the best way of returning entities in my WCF service? I want it to support other client platforms, not just .net (so php guys could use it)
