• Compile a binary file for linking OSX

  I'm trying to compile a binary file into a MACH_O object file so that it can be linked it into a dylib. The dylib is written in c/c++. On linux the following command is used: ld -r -b binary -o foo.o foo.bin I have tried various option on OSX but to no avail: ld -r foo.bin -o foo.o gives: ld: warning: -arch not specified ld: warning: ignoring file foo.bin, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (x86_64) An empty .o file is created ld -arch x86_64 -r foo.bin -o foo.o ld: warning: ignoring file foo.bin, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (x86_64) Again and empty .o file is created. Checking the files with nm gives: nm foo.o nm: no name list The binary file is actually, firmware that will be downloaded to an external device. Thanks for looking

  I have an R matrix named ddd. When I enter this, everything works fine: i <- 1 shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) ad.test(ddd[,y]) stem(ddd[,y]) print(y) The calls to Shapiro Wilk, Anderson Darling, and stem all work, and extract the same column. If I put this code in a "for" loop, the calls to Shapiro Wilk, and Anderson Darling stop working, while the the stem & leaf call and the print call continue to work. for (y in 7:10) { shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) ad.test(ddd[,y]) stem(ddd[,y]) print(y) } The decimal point is 1 digit(s) to the right of the | 0 | 0 0 | 899999 1 | 0 [1] 7 The same thing happens if I try and write a function. SW & AD do not work. The other calls do.   I would like to have a very short / minimal example of how to create some tabular widget with different types of item in it. In the first round let's say I'd like to render [["Hello", 12, True], ["World", 13, False]] (Hello as string, 12 as number (right-align), True as a checkbox for eg.), but it would be nice to have Dates, Colors, and other type of info. Next round: editing (integer with spinbox, maybe sometimes a combobox is handy, but that may not work out of the box). There must be a simple solution, but I couldn't find...

• Calling NSFetchedResultsController & CoreData experts

  I am having a few nagging issues with NSFetchedResultsController and CoreData, any of which I would be very grateful to get help on. Issue 1 - Updates: I update my store on a background thread which results in certain rows being delete, inserted or updated. The changes are merged into the context on the main thread using the "mergeChangesFromContextDidSaveNotification:" method. Inserts and deletes are updated properly, but updates are not (e.g. the cell label is not updated with the change) although I have confirmed the updates to come through the contextDidSaveNotifcation, exactly like the inserts and deleted. My current workaround is to temporarily change the staleness interval of the context to 0, but this does not seem like the ideal solution. Issue 2 - Deleting objects: My fetch batch size is 20. If an object is deleted by the background thread which is in the first 20 rows, everything works fine. But if the object is after the first 20 rows and the table is scrolled down, a "CoreData could not fulfill a fault" error is raised. I have tried resaving the context and reperforming the frc fetch - all to no avail. Note: In this scenario, the frc delegate method "didChangeObject...." is not called for the delete - I assume this is because the object in question had not been faulted at that time (as it is was outside the initial fetch range). But for some reason, the context still thinks the object is around, although is has been deleted from the store. Issue 3 - Deleting sections : When the deletion of a row leads to the deletion of a section, I have gotten the "invalid number of rows in section???" error. I have worked around this by removing the "reloadSection" line from the NSFetchedResultsChangeMove: section and replacing it with "[tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths...." This seems to work, but once again, I am not sure if this is the best solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Let say that this request/response will take more that 10 seconds, meanwhile I'll see loading image near TextBox AND the most important, I can continue to work on other fields. • Suggestion on Database structure for relational data

  Hi there. I've been wrestling with this problem for quite a while now and the automatic mails with 'Slow Query' warnings are still popping in. Basically, I have Blogs with a corresponding table as well as a table that keeps track of how many times each Blog has been viewed. This last table has a huge amount of records since this page is relatively high traffic and it logs every hit as an individual row. I have tried with indexes on the fields that are included in the WHERE clause, but it doesn't seem to help. I have also tried to clean the table each week by removing old ( 1.weeks) records. SO, I'm asking you guys, how would you solve this?   Hi, Scenario is as follows:- I want to reverse the direction of the singly linked list, In other words, after the reversal all pointers should now point backwards.. Well the algorithm should take linear time. The solution that i have thought of using another datastructure A Stack.. With the help of which the singly linked list would be easily reversed, with all pointers pointing backwards.. But i am in doubt, that whether the following implementation yeild linear time complexity.. Please comment on this.. And if any other efficient algorithm is in place, then please discuss.. Thanks.

• client-side data storage and retrieval with html and javascript

  I'm building what I am hoping to be a fairly simple, quick and dirty demo app. So far, I've managed to build a bunch of components using only html and javascript. I know that eventually I'll hook-up a db, but at this point I'm just trying to show off some functionality. In the page, a user can select a bunch of other users (like friends). Then they go to a separate html page and there is some sorting info based on the selected users. So my first attempt was to put the selected users object into a cookie, and retrieve the cookie on the second page. Unfortunately, if the user changed their selection, the cookie wasn't getting updated, and my searches on StackOverflow seemed to say that deleting and updating cookies is unreliable. I tried function updateCookie(updatedUserList){ jQuery.cookie('userList',null); jQuery.cookie('userList',updatedUserList); } but though it set the cookie to null, it wouldn't update it on the second value. So I decided to put the selected users object into a form. Unfortunately, it looks like I can't retrieve the contents from the form on the client-side, only on the server-side. Is there another way to do this? I've worked in PHP and Rails, but I'm trying to do this quickly and simply before building it out into something larger and am trying to avoid any server-side processing for now, which I have managed to do up to this point.

More: if I remove that comment and then write History.Laps.Clear() (before or after setting binding) binding is not working anymore. It's like it gets crazy if collection is empty. I really don't understand the reason... UPDATE AND SOLUTION: If i move History = new ChronoLaps(); LayoutRoot.DataContext = History; from butStart_Click to public MainPage() everything works as expected. Can someone explain me the reason?

• Which data framework is better for an ASP.NET MVC site - LINQ to SQL or NHibernate

  We're about to embark on some ASP.NET MVC development and have been using our own entity framework for years. However we need to support more than our entity framework is capable of and so I'd like to get some opinions about using MVC with a more robust framework. We have narrowed down or choices to either NHibernate (with the Fluent APIs) or LINQ to SQL. Which framework lends itself best to MVC style development (I know SO uses LINQ to SQL)? If we want to support SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL - does that exclude LINQ to SQL?
