  • Minimum permission required to access Site Columns page and edit site columns

    - by ParanoidMike
We've started to adopt SharePoint 2010, and are starting to manually migrate content from SharePoint 2007 sites to new sites we're rebuilding from scratch in SP2010. One of the things we previously had supported was to delegate responsibility for managing some of our site columns to a member of the team. The team member is not familiar with SharePoint internals, and doesn't want the responsibility of full permissions to the site and all its objects. We're now trying to figure out what the minimum permission is that we need to grant our team member, so they can continue to edit (& propagate) the content of the site columns we've defined. Permissions he currently has (which are obviously insufficient): Site permissions (according to _layouts/user.aspx): Read, Contribute, Manage Lists Permissions for specific objects in the site (according to _layouts/people.aspxMembershipGroupId=xxx, then choosing Settings, View Group Permissions): server/sites/[sitename]: Contribute server/sites/[sitename]/Lists/[a list with columns that inherit from site columns]: "Contribute No Delete" Note: the "Contribute No Delete" permission is a custom permission I designed by copying the SharePoint-native "Contribute" permission set and deselecting the Delete permission. The "Manage Lists" permission is a custom permission I designed that includes the following specific permissions: (List Permissions) Manage Lists, View Items; (Site Permissions) View Pages, Open. Operations that are throwing access denied errors: _layouts/mngfield.aspx: SharePoint returns the "Error: Access Denied" dialog, and provides three clickable options: "Sign in as a different user", "Request access", and "Go back to site" _layouts/fldedit.aspx?field=Level%5Fx0020%5F3 [one of the site columns we've defined]: can load the page and type in changes to the textboxes "...but when I press OK (save changes) I get the same message above." When our team member clicks the "Request access" link, the email I receive sends me to a page that recommends that I grant the user membership in the "[sitename] Users" group - of which he's already a member. So while SP2010 tries to request access, it doesn't actually direct me to either (a) a valid group that has the correct permissions or (b) the specific object to which I need to grant our team member access. Also note: on the SP2007 (MOSS) site (where our team member was successful in managing Site Column edits), they had dozens of additional permissions throughout the site that we do not wish to blindly re-allocate in SP2010 until we know they're necessary. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • How create widget with clickable text in QT/PyQt?

    - by serge
Hi everyone, i'm trying to realize non-editable QTableView with widgets in cells that should contain clickable listed text. With following code i'm setting widget in definite cell: view = QTableView() label = QLabel( <some html text> ) ... view.setIndexWidget(index, label) I used html to make label's text clickable, but links became blue with underline and moreover by clicking on it with right mouse button appears popup menu with "Copy Link Locaion" option, where i wanted to place some hidden information instead of url and of course do not let user see this info. I'm looking for light-weight widget, i thought that insertion of QGraphicsView in each cell will lead to big computer loads, but can't think of any other solution. Can you advice what should i use for this purpose? Thank you in advance Serge

  • Best practice for submits redirecting to another page in MVC2?

    - by blesh
I have a situation with my MVC2 app where I have multiple pages that need to submit different information, but all need to end up at the same page. In my old Web Forms app, I'd have just accomplished this in my btnSave_Click delegate with a Redirect. There are three different types of products, each of which need to be saved to the cart in a completely different manner from their completely different product pages. I'm not going to get into why or how they're different, just suffice to say, they're totally different. After they're saved to the cart, I need to "redirect" to the Checkout view. But it should be noted, that you can also just browse straight to the Checkout view without having to submit any products to add to the cart. Here's a diagram of what I'm trying to accomplish, and how I think I need to handle it: Is this correct? It seems like a common scenario, but I haven't seen any examples of how I should handle this. Thank you all in advance.

  • touchesEnded not being called??? or randomly being called

    - by Rob
    If I lift my finger up off the first touch, then it will recognize the next touch just fine. It's only when I hold my first touch down continuously and then try and touch a different area with a different finger at the same time. It will then incorrectly register that second touch as being from the first touch again. Update It has something to do with touchesEnded not being called until the very LAST touch has ended (it doesn't care if you already had 5 other touches end before you finally let go of the last one... it calls them all to end once the very last touch ends) - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; NSString* filename = [listOfStuff objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; // do something with the filename now } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { ITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; NSString* buttonPressed = [listOfStuff objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; // do something with this info now }

  • Horizontal "tab"ish scroll between views

    - by Steve Pomeroy
I'm interested in creating a horizontal scroll view that "snaps" to the viewed item, so only one item is ever shown at a time. The user can touch-drag left/right and will see previous/next views, switching to it if there's enough velocity. This interaction is exactly like what the new weather/news widget that comes with the Nexus One does for navigating between its "tabs". Are there any existing view widgets that do this? Update: found a copy of the news/weather widget (GenieWidget) and they seem to have implemented their own widget to accomplish this which they call com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget.ui.FlingableLinearLayout which is part of their own custom com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget.ui.TabView. As that source isn't available, that's not looking too hopeful a direction.

  • How do I make the "change order" button appear in SharePoint 2010?

    - by Jan Aagaard
How do I make the "change order" button appear in SharePoint 2010? I have followed a guide that allowed me to add OrderedList="TRUE" to my list template. This makes it possible to select "Allow users to order items in this view" for my view. But the change order button is still missing. Any idears on what I am missing? I am using SharePoint 2010 and the guide is from 2006, so that might explain why it doesn't just work. The guide from tech-archive.net.

  • Rails 3, changing a specific value in a row

    - by Elliot
Hey Guys, This question seems ridiculously easy, but I seem to be stuck. Lets say we have a table "Books" Each Book, has a name, description, and a status. Lets say I want to create link in the show view, that when clicked, solely changes the status (to "read") for example. So far, I've tried adding a block in the controller, that says: def read @book = Book.find(params[:id]) @book.status = "Read" @book.update_attributes(params[:book]) respond_to do |format| format.html { redirect_to :back} format.xml { render :xml => @book } end end Then I've added a link to the view that is like: <%= link_to "Read", read_book_path(@book), :method = :put % This isn't working at all. I have added it to my routes, but it doesn't seem to matter. Any help would be great! Thanks! -Elliot EDIT: Forgot to add I'm getting a NoMethodError: undefined method `read_book_path'

  • selectedSegmentIndex not updating UISegmentControl

    - by munchine
In my viewDidLoad, I'm retrieving user preferences and updating the settings tab. It is working for editSelection (see code) but the other NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; BOOL editSelection = [userDefaults boolForKey:@"editToggleSwitch"]; editingToggle.selectedSegmentIndex = editSelection; // this is working! bToggle.selectedSegmentIndex = [[userDefaults objectForKey:@"bSegment"] intValue]; In the view, the editingToggle segment is displaying correctly but bToggle is always at 0? NSLog shows that the data was saved and retrieved correctly. I've even set bToggle.selectedSegmentIndex = 1; but it still does not reflect correctly in the view? Any ideas?

  • Just-in-time invocation of Facebook login window from UIWebView

    - by Chris Garrett
I have an app that presents a UIWebView pointing to my own server. I have a Facebook Like button on some pages inside the UIWebView. I have it working now, but the login screen is way too big for the phone screen. I would like to present a nicer login dialog such as the one in the Facebook iPhone API, and then continue back to the web view. The Facebook iPhone SDK has support for a login button and iPhone-friendly login screen, but it assumes that a user will click a login button before doing anything Facebook related. I would like the Like button to just appear, and to bring up the iPhone login screen only when necessary. I have monitored HTTP requests from my web view, and it looks like I could intercept the login request there, and present the login dialog. However, it seems that this would be fragile, because if Facebook changes those calls then my app will no longer work. Is there a more elegant way to do this?

  • ASP .NET MVC; return HTML along with JavaScript

    - by effkay
I have a partial view which renders a table. On page load, I am using JQuery to perform Zebra Stripping on it. Whenever ajax refreshes the table, DOM elements are updated, but since JQuery code to do the Zebra Stripping is not executed; table looks ugly. I have tried adding Javascript in my partial view if( Request.IsAjaxRequest() ) return PartialView( "AdministrationGrid", Users ); but javascript is not executed. I guess the only way to execute the Javascript as reply is to do: return JavaScript( "alert( '' )" ); Anyone with an idea how can I achieve this? I thought about JQuery Live, but it is used to bind itself to events.

  • Search multiple datepicker on same grid

    - by DHF
I'm using multiple datepicker on same grid and I face the problem to get a proper result. I used 3 datepicker in 1 grid. Only the first datepicker (Order Date)is able to output proper result while the other 2 datepicker (Start Date & End Date) are not able to generate proper result. I've just been following the tutorial on the CakePHP website to create a simple Blog as a way to learn a bit about Cake. • Is there a way of executing embedded ruby in a javascript file in my /public/javascripts directory?

    - by brad
I have a form with an ever-growing amount of associated javascript. At present this javascript lives in my form view which is fine, but it's getting larger and starting to overwhelm the form making it difficult to work on the form. I want to put this in a separate file in my /public/javascripts directory but a lot of the javascript is generated by embedded ruby. This embedded ruby is ignored and passed through to the browser if I just put the code here. What is the best way (if any) of having this embedded ruby executed and the javascript being generated in the same way as if it were in my view?

  • UIScrollView strange zoom behavior when content is a UIView subclass

    - by sigsegv
Hi, I'm experiencing the following: I created a UIView subclass with a CATiledLayer as backing layer by overriding the layerClass method. The layer properties (delegate, tileSize, etc) are set in the initWithFrame: method of the subclass. +(Class)layerClass { return [CATiledLayer class]; } -(id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if(self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { renderer = [[MFPDFRenderer alloc]init]; tiledLayer = (CATiledLayer *)[self layer]; [tiledLayer setFrame:frame]; [tiledLayer setLevelsOfDetail:2]; [tiledLayer setLevelsOfDetailBias:3]; [tiledLayer setTileSize:CGSizeMake(512, 512)]; [tiledLayer setDelegate:renderer]; } return self; } Then I add an instance of said class as the content of an UIScrollView and set UIScrollView properties and implement the required delegate's methods. Everything works fine but when zooming the scroll view keep repositioning itself on its center. It's hardly noticeable when zooming in the center of the content, but unbearable otherwise. The same scroll view works fine when I use as (zoomable) content any other view such as an UIImageView or even a normal UIView with a CATiledLayer with the same properties and delegate of the subclass implementation as sublayer. When I check layer bounds and frame in the drawLayer:inContext: method of the delegate I get the following result as the zoom increase UIView with CATiledLayer as sublayer: 2010-04-03 21:05:33.499 Renderer[89293:4903] Layer: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 2010-04-03 21:05:33.500 Renderer[89293:4903] Bounds: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 2010-04-03 21:05:33.529 Renderer[89293:4903] Layer: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 2010-04-03 21:05:33.534 Renderer[89293:4903] Bounds: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 Custom subclass: 2010-04-03 21:04:15.969 Renderer[88957:4903] Layer: (0.000, 0.000) 657.910 x 945.746 2010-04-03 21:04:15.970 Renderer[88957:4903] Bounds: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 2010-04-03 21:04:17.428 Renderer[88957:4903] Layer: (-0.000, 0.000) 766.964 x 1102.510 2010-04-03 21:04:17.429 Renderer[88957:4903] Bounds: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 [...] 2010-04-03 21:19:10.388 Renderer[92573:4903] Layer: (-0.000, 0.000) 905.680 x 1301.916 2010-04-03 21:19:10.388 Renderer[92573:4903] Bounds: (0.000, 0.000) 320.000 x 460.000 I suppose that's the culprit or at least another symptom. I can add that I get the same erratic behavior if my subclass is built over a standard CALayer with the same renderer. Any suggestion will be appreciated!

  • Caching Solutions

    - by dave
Has anyone done a thorough comparison of AppFabric and NCache or AppFabric and ScaleOut? We are currently looking to implement either AppFabric, NCache or ScaleOut for distributed caching in geographically distant locations and I would like to know anyone's thoughts who has compared them side by side. I appreciate that many people use one or the other and tell me why their chosen solution is great but I am really looking for a comparison of the two products. Such things as what does AppFabric not do or not do well (if anything), partially from a features point of view but also from developer's point of view. Is working with one compared to the other nicer, easier, more flexible, more powerful, etc. There are plenty of lists of features which I can compare but am really looking for a comparison from someone who has perhaps been in a similar position to us and has performed the evaluation that we are about to launch into which will give us some food for thought whilst we do so. Thanks in advance.

  • WPF: How to dynamically find a usercontrol or datatemplate

    - by Elger
I have a bunch of datatemplates I use to display various sql-views in an ItemsControl. I don't know which datatemplate i'm going to use until run-time. (every view has different columns) Next to that, I made a generic dynamic datatemplate for all those views that don't need anything special. When I display the view I want to first look in all the available datatemplates if there is one that matches, else use the default dynamic datatemplate. My question is how can I 'search' a datatemplate by name in code? Usercontrol is also possible. Thanks, Elger

  • Implementing a horizontal compass on the iPhone - algorithm?

    - by Andrew Johnson
A horizontal compass looks something like this if you are facing due East (90 degrees). 85----90---95 If you were facing due 355 degrees northwest, it would look like this: 350----355---0 As you turn the compass, the number should cycle from 0 - 360 - 0 So, my question is, how would you implement a view like this on the iPhone? I had a couple of ideas: Make one long image with all numbers and tick marks, and shift it left/right when the compass heading changes Create pieces of the view as tiles and append them when the compass heading changes. Create a line of tick marks that shifts with the compass heading, and just write numbers on it as needed. How would you attack this problem? Im mainly looking for algorithmic advice, but if you ave code or pseudo-code to demonstrate, that would be helpful too.

  • UITextInput setMarkedText:selectedRange not working? (Can't be!)

    - by nacho4d
I want to set the marked text programmatically and since iOS5 UITextView and UITextField conform to UITextInput this should be possible but for some reason I always get the markedText to be nil. :( What am I missing here? This is what I've tried without success: (While the textview is firstResponder) 1.- When the text view contains no text: text: "", selectedRange : {0,0}, markedText: nil. [_textView setMarkedText:@"?" selectedRange:NSMakeRange(0, 1)]; Result: text : "", selectedRange: {0,0}, markedText: nil. (Nothing changed) 2.- When the text view contains text + some marked text: text : "AAA", selectedRange = {0,3}, marked text at the end : "??" then I do: [_textView setMarkedText:@"?" selectedRangeNSMakeRange(0,3)]; Result : text :"AAA", selectedRange: {0,3}, markedText: nil; (the marked text became nil) In both cases is like setMarkedText:selectedRange: would be setting the current marked text (if some) to nil. Any help would be highly appreciated :)

  • Bring to front DatePicker on an UITextField

    - by crazyfr
Hi, When an UITextField is firstResponder, I would like to bring to front an UIDatePicker (bottom part of the screen) without the "going down keyboard" (no call to UITextField resignFirstResponder). The aim is to process like UIKeyboard of UITextField which pop-up on nearly everything when it becomeFirstResponder. modalViewController seems to be fullscreen only. - showDatePicker:(id)sender { if([taskName isFirstResponder]) [taskName resignFirstResponder]; [self.view.window addSubview: self.pickerView]; // size up the picker view and compute the start/end frame origin (...) [UIView commitAnimations]; } This example is an animation of keyboard going down, and DatePicker going up, behind and not in front. Do you know a solution ? A piece of code would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

  • Activity Indicator not displaying based on whether the UIWebView is loading or not...

    - by Jack W-H
Hi folks Sorry if this is an easy one. Basically, here is my code: MainViewController.h: // // MainViewController.h // Site // // Created by Jack Webb-Heller on 19/03/2010. // Copyright __MyCompanyName__ 2010. [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Release any cached data, images, etc that aren't in use. } - (void)viewDidUnload { // Release any retained subviews of the main view. // e.g. self.myOutlet = nil; } - (void)dealloc { [spinner release]; [webView release]; [super dealloc]; } @end Unfortunately nothing is ever written to my log, and for some reason the Activity Indicator never seems to appear. What's going wrong here? Thanks folks Jack

  • Spring redirect: prefix issue

    - by Javi
Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method? Thanks

  • Databinding int32 to MaskedEditExtender enabled TextBox

    - by Zach Skinner
I have a master/detail scheme for editing an asp:GridView using an asp:DetailsView. One of my fields is for a phone number of type int64 (always 10 digits). I would like this field to always be displayed as (###)###-####. My issue is the first digit in the phone number is always truncated for my edit item field which I used a MaskedEditExtender to achieve the formatting. Here is my EditItemTemplate for the details view: <cc1:MaskedEditExtender TargetControlID="edtPROJ_Leader_Phone" Mask="(999)999-9999" runat="server" ClearMaskOnLostFocus="false" ClipboardEnabled="true" MaskType="Number" /> <asp:TextBox ID="edtPROJ_Leader_Phone" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("PROJ_Leader_Phone") %>' ></asp:TextBox> When my details view is displayed for editing, the text box displays(_23)456-7890 for the integer 1234567890. Also worth noting that if the property MaskType="Number" is removed, the textbox shows: (234)567-890_. I would of course have the textbox show (123)-546-67890 after binding.

  • Accessing WebKit Devtools JavaScript library

    - by VLostBoy
I noticed something in Chrome the other day- I had opened Developer Tools, and then hit view source and was initially surprised to notice that apparently the developer tools window is coded in HTML and JavaScript- you can see that by putting the following into the Chrome address bar: view-source:chrome://devtools/devtools.html Two things struck me- first, the codes copyright belongs to Apple (considering their backing of WebKit, thats not too surprising), and secondly, it appears that you cannot access the JavaScript, CSS or Image files directly through Chrome by clicking on links in the source code. So two questions: Where are the DevTools assets stored on my computer or how can I otherwise access them? Or even better, can someone identify the library that is used and let me know how its licensed? I'm always on the look out for a well implemented UI toolkit- and Devtools looks great.
