  I don't know whether this should be on programmers - I've been looking at the above three apps over the past few weeks just for myself and I'm in two minds. All three look good, are easy to use, and I came to this conclusion; Asana is the easiest to use ActiveCollab is the feature rich and easiest flow BaseCamp is the best UX / design But I didn't really find my workflow was any more quicker / efficient, in fact it was a bit slower and organized. Is there a realistic place for them in workflow - should programmers use them for themselves, or only when a project manager can take control of it?

• Can't Log in to Lubuntu 12.04 X Server

  As of rebooting yesterday I can't login as myself to the X server part of 64-bit Lubuntu 12.04. Same problem as Can not get passed the login screen but that solution didn't work for me. Troubleshooting steps I already took: I can log in as guest (with whatever window manager) to the graphic (X) view of Lubuntu. log in as myself into a virtual terminal. (In fact I'm writing this from w3m for that reason.) So I know my password is correct and that most aspects of the system are working. One of the top google results for "can't log into lubuntu" mentioned a disk-full problem on netbooks; I don't have that problem. • No wireless and display issues on Dell Inspiron 1210 (Mini 12)

  I recently upgraded a friend's Dell Mini 12 (Inspiron 1210) from Ubuntu 8.10 to 10.04 netbook edition. After installing, and performing the available updates, I'm unable to detect any wireless networks (it knows it has a wireless card, but won't list any active networks). There also seems to be an issue with the display drivers: when scrolling, resizing, or drawing any windows there is a noticeable lag as I watch the screen redraw. As if there are no compatible display drivers installed. All these problems go away the moment I boot up a version of 8.10. But I'd like to keep 10.04 if possible. Are these common problems? Everything I've read suggest this is laptop should be compatible. Any suggestions? Thanks.

• Keyring Password, Unity in 11.10

  Login to 11.10 I input my password and shortly afterward I am asked for a keyring password. I realize that I was asked for this during installation (second time lucky!) and I did enter a password (what a mistaka to maka). This now entails my having to input the keyring password on every boot up! Looking at previous answers it would seem that the applications - accesories - password and encryption keys - was the suggested route. However I assume that was in Gnome (At this stage I look back in fondness!!!) Certainly, I don't get the same route in Unity! I saw a reference to seahorse in a terminal - but this results in several error reports and a sub windows which does not seem to open. The objective in this exercise is to log in using the login password and not also the keyring password! any help would be appreciated - thank you

  I am not a computer savvy and need to know how to partition my USB drive without messing up my laptop. I already have the boot order set up properly and the USB drive already has the ISO image downloaded onto it. I am ready for install but just do not know how to partition. I am installing Ubuntu 12.4 LTS onto a USB. Can someone help me? I need an easy walk through please. What I need to know is from the screen shots above do I use the swap drive and if so how do i partition that drive to be my drive? I am stuck up to this part on the installation process. Yes please make a list of the steps for me.

      QUICKLINK: Note 153788.1 ORA-600/ORA-7445 Lookup tool Note 1082674.1 : A Video To Demonstrate The Usage Of The ORA-600/ORA-7445 Lookup Tool [Video]   Have you observed an ORA-07445 error reported in your alert log? While the ORA-600 error is "captured" as a handled exception in the Oracle source code, the ORA-7445 is an unhandled exception error due to an OS exception which should result in the creation of a core file.  An ORA-7445 is a generic error, and can occur from anywhere in the Oracle code. The precise location of the error is identified by the core file and/or trace file it produces.  Looking for the best way to diagnose? Whenever an ORA-7445 error is raised a core file is generated.  There may be a trace file generated with the error as well.   Prior to 11g, the core files are located in the CORE_DUMP_DEST directory.   Starting with 11g, there is a new advanced fault diagnosability infrastructure to manage trace data.  Diagnostic files are written into a root directory for all diagnostic data called the ADR home.   Core files at 11g will go to the ADR HOME/cdump directory.   For more information on the Oracle 11g Diagnosability feature see Note 453125.1 11g Diagnosability Frequently Asked Questions Note 443529.1 11g Quick Steps to Package and Send Critical Error Diagnostic Information to Support[Video]   NOTE:  While the core file is captured in the Diagnosability infrastructure, the file may not be included with a diagnostic package.1.  Check the Alert LogThe alert log may indicate additional errors or other internal errors at the time of the problem.   In some cases, the ORA-7445 error will occur along with ORA-600, ORA-3113, ORA-4030 errors.  The ORA-7445 error can be side effects of the other problems and you should review the first error and associated core file or trace file and work down the list of errors.   Note 1020463.6 DIAGNOSING ORA-3113 ERRORS Note 1812.1 TECH:  Getting a Stack Trace from a CORE file Note 414966.1 RDA Documentation Index   If the ORA-7445 errors are not associated with other error conditions, ensure the trace data is not truncated. If you see a message at the end of the file   "MAX DUMP FILE SIZE EXCEEDED"   the MAX_DUMP_FILE_SIZE parameter is not setup high enough or to 'unlimited'. There could be vital diagnostic information missing in the file and discovering the root issue may be very difficult.  Set the MAX_DUMP_FILE_SIZE appropriately and regenerate the error for complete trace information. For pointers on deeper analysis of these errors see   Note 390293.1 Introduction to 600/7445 Internal Error Analysis Note 211909.1 Customer Introduction to ORA-7445 Errors 2.  Search 600/7445 Lookup Tool Visit My Oracle Support to access the ORA-00600 Lookup tool (Note 153788.1). The ORA-600/ORA-7445 Lookup tool may lead you to applicable content in My Oracle Support on the problem and can be used to investigate the problem with argument data from the error message or you can pull out key stack pointers from the associated trace file to match up against known bugs.3.  "Fine tune" searches in Knowledge Base As the ORA-7445 error indicates an unhandled exception in the Oracle source code, your search in the Oracle Knowledge Base will need to focus on the stack data from the core file or the trace file. Keep in mind that searches on generic argument data will bring back a large result set.  The more you can learn about the environment and code leading to the errors, the easier it will be to narrow the hit list to match your problem. • How to make a disk image and restore from it later?

  I'm a new Linux user. I've reinstalled my Wubi from scratch at least ten times the last few weeks because while getting the system up and running (drivers, resolution, etc.) I've broken something (X, grub, unknowns) and I can't get it back to work. Especially for a newbie like me, it's easier (and much faster) to just reinstall the whole shebang than try to troubleshoot several layers of failed "fixing" attempts. Coming from Windows, I expect that there is some "disk image" utility that I can run to make a snapshot of my Linux install (and of the boot partition!!) before I meddle with stuff. Then, after I've foobar'ed my machine, I would somehow restore my machine back to that working snapshot. What's the Linux equivalent of Windows disk imagers like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost? I have this Linux Mint and i installed it on to one of my desktop PC, i have downloaded and installed freerdp-x11 for me to connect into my windows terminal server...The thing that I really need help is, i want the terminal command line to connect automatically to the windows terminal server so that every time i boot my Linux Mint pc i wouldn't have to keep typing "xfreerdp 000.000.0.000" on the terminal command line...Is there a script for it..???? • Can't install Ubuntu on a Z68xP-UD3p board

  I have tried to install Ubuntu version 10, 11 and 12 64 bit on my Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P motherboard using live CD and placing the DVD in the drive and starting the machine. When I go to install Ubuntu I get a dark screen and no text at all. When I go with Live CD I reboot and then I go right into the install from the boot menu and still get darkness. Nothing appears. I have a i7 intel CPU with Nvida Gefore GTX 560 Ti video board.

• Accenture Launches Smart Grid Data Management Platform

• GParted doesn't see any partition

  What I am trying to do couldn't be more logical I think. I have a 40gb drive with two partitions, Xp and Ubuntu. I have dual boot, everything boots and works perfectly. I have about 9gb free in the Windows partition When I run Gparted I only see 40gb unallocated space, booting from Gparted Live CD. What the hell is going on ? I've read everywhere this is a common problem, however it has no sense something like this remains unsolved by gparted developers, considering what I am trying to do is the very basic step anybody wanting to migrate from Windows to Linux would od Something like this honestly doesn't give anything else than frustration Could anybody on this forum be so kind to explain whats' going on ?
