• Extending mysqli and using multiple classes

  Hi, I'm new to PHP oop stuff. I'm trying to create class database and call other classes from it.   Guys; Hope you are fine. I have to make a Web Project (very simple) I will have a DB with 2 tables. One table has 2 fields. From the WebPage I need a Google like search query, for example I have Movie Title and Movie Review on the Table. I need to be able to search those 2 fields like this: "Best Movie" + Action I will need to make a query to the DB to search for the "Best Movie" string togheter plus optional ACTION word on 2 fields of the table. Am I clear??? :) Does somebody know if this has already been made, and if it´s public and free and where to get it :) Thanks in advanced EDIT: My concern is to translate the Google like Symbols ("", +, -, ~) to build a valid query.

  Amworking on drupal 7. Created a rest services in drupal views. • How to instantly termainate an un-supervised script on demand?

  I have a GUI which resembles an interpreter. It allows the user to write a script in Jython (implementation of Python in Java) and run it whenever he wants. Apart from that, I also wish to allow the user to instantly terminate the run whenever he wants. Thing is, I don't really know how to do it. The script is being run on a different Thread, but I don't know of any secure way to stop/interrupt/terminate a thread in the middle of its run, let alone not knowing what is being run by the thread/script (it could be a simple task or maybe some sort of a heavy SQL query against a DB, and a DB is something which requires careful resource handling). How can I instantly terminate such run on demand?

  I would like to prevent the default behaviour of a click on a link. I tried the return false; also javascript:void(0); in the href attribute but it doesn’t seem to work. It works fine in Firefox, but not in Chrome and IE. • Comparing two collection lists

  I've been at this for few hors now and can't seem to find a solution. I have 2 invnetory lists, one a spreadsheet and the other data table. I need to match the spreadsheet agains the data table to find out if I have missing inventory. The spreadsheet should match with what I have in the db, ie the spreadsheet is like a master so when I have missing inventory in DB I need to add it an list and build a report. I thought by looping throught the spreadsheet and for each inventory in the spreadsheet loop through the data table I can achieve my goal but that proved to be wrong. Any ideas how I would do this?   I'm about to embark on a project that will need to: Process XML Heavy text parsing of non-xml documents Insertion of data from xml and non-xml documents into a relational DB. Present processed data to user from db using webpages. The website will be subject to short periods of very heavy loads to pages (300+ visitors a minute for several minutes), but most of the time will be idle (a dozen or so visitors a minute). The ability to cache or scale to load will be very nice. I have a very strong background in Java and web services, but I do not want to use Java for this project as I'd like to diversify my skill set. Which language would you recommend and what are some pros and cons that you might recognize from your own experiences?

• How to syntax-highlight XML in CDATA elements in Vim?

  Vim's syntax highlighting for XML/XSL is great, except it turns off all syntax highlighting in CDATA regions. Is there a way to turn on syntax highlighting on in CDATA regions? At work, we have a lot of XSL code embedded within other XML documents. It would be great if I could get all of the goodness of XML editing for the embedded XSL code as well without having to temporarily remove the CDATA tags, or copy the CDATA content into a temporary file. Example: <root> <someTag><![CDATA[ <xsl:template match="/"> <!-- XSL content here --> </xsl:template> ]]> </someTag> </root> Note that the name of the tag (in the example, someTag) containing the content could be anything. We also sometimes embed Javascript inside CDATA regions as well, and again, it would be nice to turn on Javascript syntax highlighting for those regions. Again, the tag the data is embedded in is usually arbitrary and can be anything.

  I am loading one swf into another using the Loader class, but when the child swf finishes loading and is added to the display list, its Document Class is not instantiated. I have a few trace statements should execute when the object is created. When I compile the child SWF on its own, the Document Class runs as expected. • STORED PROCEDURE working in my local test machine cannot be created in production environment.

  Hi, I have an SQL CREATE PROCEDURE statement that runs perfectly in my local SQL Server, but cannot be recreated in production environment. The error message I get in production is Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Incorrect syntax near '='. It is a pretty big query and I don't want to annoy StackOverflow users, but I simply can't find a solution. If only you could point me out what settings I could check in the production server in order to enable running the code... I must be using some kind of syntax or something that is conflicting with some setting in production. This PROCEDURE was already registered in production before, but when I ran a DROP - CREATE PROCEDURE today, the server was able to drop the procedure, but not to recreate it. • How to model my database when using entity framework 4?

  Trying to wrap my head around the best approach in modelling a database when we are using Entity Framework 4 as the ORM layer. We are going to use asp.net mvc 2 for the application. Is it worth trying to model using the class diagram modeller that comes with Visual Studio 2010 where you graphically configure your models into the EDMX file and then generate out the database structure? I have run into a bunch of non trivial issues and for complex many to many mappings or multi primary key entities the answer is not that obvious even after poking around a while with the tools. I figure its easy at this point to give up and start modelling the DB using real, working DB modelling tools and then try to generate out the EDMX from the database, rather than trying to do the model first approach.

The first console.log(parsed) also returns good data so it's just a problem with the return (I think). I knew I was clutching at straws and would be extremely if this worked, but it doesn't. To be honest, I don't know how to program callback functions for this situation. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  Hi, I am trying to dynamically load a progressive jpeg using actionscript 3. To do so, I have created a class called Progressiveloader that creates a URLStream and uses it to streamload the progressive jpeg bytes into a byteArray. Everytime the byteArray grows, I use a Loader to loadBytes the byteArray. This works, to some extent, because if I addChild the Loader, I am able to see the jpeg as it is streamed, but I am unable to access the Loader's content and most importantly, I can not change the width and height of the Loader. After a lot of testing, I seem to have figured out the cause of the problem is that until the Loader has completely loaded the jpg, meaning until he actually sees the end byte of the jpg, he does not know the width and height and he does not create a content DisplayObject to be associated with the Loader's content. My question is, would there be a way to actually know the width and height of the jpeg before it is loaded? P.S.: I would believe this would be possible, because of the nature of a progressive jpeg, it is loaded to it's full size, but with less detail, so size should be known. Even when loading a normal jpeg in this way, the size is seen on screen, except the pixels which are not loaded yet are showing as gray. Thank You.

• How do I copy files repository to new folder with PHP

  I have a folder named "repository" in my admin folders. This folder holds 2 files: index.html and content.php. When a user creates a new page the php creates a new folder specified by the user then will need to copy the two files into that folder while leaving them in the repository. copy(file,dest) does not work. rename(file,dest) moves the files to the new folder but I lose them in the repository. How do I copy the files in one folder to the new folder without losing the files in the original folder? $dest = '../'.$menuLocation.'/'.$pageName; $file1= "repository/index.html"; $file2= "repository/content.php"; mkdir($dest,0777); rename($file1,$dest.'/index.html'); rename($file2,$dest.'/content.php'); $menuLocation and $pageName are supplied by the user. The files are there, file_exists returns back true. Also, the directory is created with no issues. rename() also works I just lose the files in repository.

• Set date format in ruby model (sinatra/datamapper)

  Hi, I have a ruby model that contains a date attribue which I'd like to be able to pass in as a parameter in the format dd/MM/yyyy. However, my sqlite3 db stores the data in yyyy-MM-dd format so when a date like 20/10/2010 gets passed in, it will not be read to the database. I am using the Sinatra framework and using haml for the markup creation. Do I need to write a helper that takes the date string and converts it to the correct format for the db? Or can I set a format type on the models attribute? Thanks.

• How to not use JavaScript with in the elements events attributes but still load via AJAX

  I am currently loading HTMl content via AJAX. I have code for things on different elements onclick attributes (and other event attributes). It does work, but I am starting to find that the code is getting rather large, and hard to read. I have also read that it is considered bad practice to have the event code 'inline' like this and that I should really do by element.onclick = foobar and have foobar defined somewhere else. I understand how with a static page it is fairly easy to do this, just have a script tag at the bottom of the page and once the page is loaded have it executed. This can then attach any and all events as you need them. But how can I get this sort of affect when loading content via AJAX. There is also the slight case that the content loaded can very depending on what is in the database, some times certain sections of HTML, such as tables of results, will not even be displayed there will be something else entirely. I can post some samples of code if any body needs them, but I have no idea what sort of things would help people with this one. I will point out, that I am using Jquery already so if it has some helpful little functions that would be rather sweet¬
