• Calling IPrincipal.IsInRole on Windows 7

  We use NTLM auth in our application to determine whether a user can perform certain operations. We use the IPrincipal of their current Windows login (in WinForms applications), calling IsInRole to check for specific group memberships. To check that a user is a local administrator on the machine, we use: AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetPrincipalPolicy(PrincipalPolicy.WindowsPrincipal); ... bool allowed = Thread.CurrentPrincipal.IsInRole(@"Builtin\Administrators") This works if the current user is the Administrator user, or is another user that is a member of the Builtin\Administrators group. In our testing on Windows 7, we have found that this no longer works as expected. The Administrator user still works fine, but any other user that is a member of the Builtin\Administrators group returns false for the IsInRole call. What could be causing this difference? I have a gut feeling that a default setting has changed somewhere (possible in gpedit), but cannot find anything that looks like the culprit.

  I am trying to implement FTP over SSL to upload encrypted files. I've created a SSL certificate and send it to the vendor. But I couldn't make a FTPS connection to the server. When connecting via FTPS, I'm authenticating using my private key file. I have tried .NET FTPWebRequest, SmartFTp,CuteFTP Pro. I am getting the following error:- A call to SSPI failed. • What is an efficient way to write password cracking algorithm (python)

  This problem might be relatively simple, but I'm given two text files. One text file contains all encrypted passwords encrypted via crypt.crypt in python. The other list contains over 400k+ normal dictionary words. The assignment is that given 3 different functions which transform strings from their normal case to all different permutations of capitalizations, transforms a letter to a number (if it looks alike, e.g. G - 6, B - 8), and reverses a string. The thing is that given the 10 - 20 encrypted passwords in the password file, what is the most efficient way to get the fastest running solution in python to run those functions on dictionary word in the words file? It is given that all those words, when transformed in whatever way, will encrypt to a password in the password file. Here is the function which checks if a given string, when encrypted, is the same as the encrypted password passed in: def check_pass(plaintext,encrypted): crypted_pass = crypt.crypt(plaintext,encrypted) if crypted_pass == encrypted: return True else: return False Thanks in advance.

  Hi, i have the next code written in C#....it create a tex file using utf-8.....the problem is that appears that is not a real valid utf-8 file because, when i use pdflatex it doesn't recognize the characters with accents. Somebody knows a way to write a real UTF-8 file? When i use TexmakerX to create a utf8 file with the same latex code, pdflatex doesn't complaints, so the problem must be in the generation. • MediaRecorder prepare() causes segfault

  Folks, I have a situation where my MediaRecorder instance causes a segfault. I'm working with a HTC Hero, Android 1.5+APIs. I've tried all variations, including 3gpp and H.263 and reducing the video resolution to 320x240. What am I missing? The state machine causes 4 MediaPlayer beeps and then turns on the video camera. Here's the pertinent source: UPDATE: ADDING SURFACE CREATE INFO I have rebooted the device based on previous answer to similar question. UPDATE 2: I seem to be following the MediaRecorder state machine perfectly, and if I trap out the MR code, the blank surface displays perfectly and everything else functions perfectly. I can record videos manually and play back via MediaPlayer in my code, so there should be nothing wrong with the underlying code. I've copied sample code on the surface and surfaceHolder code. I've looked at the MR instance in the Debug perspective in Eclipse and see that all (known) variables seem to be instantiated correctly. The setter calls are all now implemented in the exaxct order specced in the state diagram.   Hi, I've been trying to use the CacheManager for caching some http requests but it failed every time with a nullpointer exception. After some digging I believe I found out why: CacheManager.getCacheFileBaseDir() always returns null so when I try to use CacheManager.getCacheFile() or CacheManager.saveCacheFile() they fail. CacheManager.cacheDisabled() returns false :S I hadn 't created a cache partition via the AVD manager so I thought the problem lie there.   Hello everybody. I'm doing a small web app, which uses CKeditor for user input, and CKfinder for file management (images/flash). Those who know CKFinder, also know that the config file for CKFinder as a function named CheckAuthentication() that returns false or true, giving or not permissions to use CKFinder. This is were a Custom PHP Code checks if the user as authorization to access CKFinder or not. Well for my app I'm using Code Igniter, and of course I've created a model were i handle everything about User Permissions, Loggin, Session Cookies, etc. And i also have a function witch its propose is just to check if the user is Logged in. So I would like to know if someone knows a way that i can call the function isLoggedIn() inside the model security from inside the function CheckAuthentication() in CKFinder config file. • WPF, TreeView bug, can't select root item after item removed from treeview

  I have a very weird bug in a three level deep TreeView. It is intermittent and I can't find how to reproduce it consistently. After programmatically removing, adding then removing some third level items, when I click on the root item it isn't selected. It can still expand/collapse but can't be selected with a mouse click and it doesn't fire ItemSelectionChange event. You can click to select a second level or third level items and after that you're finally able to select the root item. I've tried to set IsSelected = false for all items after removing and tried to do a nice clean-up when removing items but it doesn't help. Did anybody run into that bug? Do you have any suggestions to remove this bug?

  Hi guys, Is there any way to turn the damned error provider off when i try to close the form using the windows close button(X). The problem is that, for elements that were not there when the page was loaded (i.e. that were added dynamically), the post callback does not get executed and it doesn't fade out after being deleted (the AJAX call is being made, it just doesn't execute the callback).   Hello Experts, I am trying for several hours to get the HornetQ Examples running in Eclipse. Using the Standalone Examples everything works fine, but when I run the examples in Eclipse I get the following error: javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: Unable to validate user: null What could this error mean? Where do I have to specify the user? Maybe HornetQ tries to look this user up in "Some Context/Properties" etc , but I do not know where and how to specifiy the user HornetQ is running under. What i did: 1.)Started Default HornetQ Server with the start.sh Script in the ./bin directory 2.)Copied the QueueExample over to eclpise 3.)Did some minor changes in the config files (to have the same Queue Names...) (I also tried to disable security completely by setting: <security-enabled>false</security-enabled> but with no success, always getting the same error.   What is the best way to set expect100continue when using WebClient(C#.NET). I have this code below, I still see 100 continue in the header.
