  • Pound symbol not displaying on web page

    Hello I have a mysql database table to store country name and currency symbol - the CHARSET has correctly set to UTF8. This is example data inserted into the table insert into country ( country_name, currency_name, currency_code, currency_symbol) values ('UK','Pounds','GBP','£'); When I look in the database - the pound symbol appears fine - but when I retrieve it from the database and display it on the website - a weird square symbol shows up with a question mark inside instead of the pound symbol.   • Making Browser Auto-Scroll to Most Recently Submitted Comment.

    Hello, I made a comment on a Wordpress blog and I noticed that after I submitted the comment, the top of the browser was flush with the top of my comment. In other words, the web page was auto-scrolled down to the top of my comment. How can I do this? I am using a comment system with PHP / MySQL. Thanks in advance, John

    I'm looking for a thin, generic layer (probably written in PHP) that sits between a database (probably MySQL) and web service clients (which could be anything). I imagine there would be config files of some sort that tell it how to map web service requests to database queries (or other DB commands). It would also need to handle authentication and authorization, of course. I've done some googling but failed to find anything that fits the bill. Can anyone suggest something like this?

Should I copy the 1000 char articles over multiple "buckets", duplicating them each time they are related to a bucket or should I use a normalized MySQL DB with lots of Memcache?
