Similarly, we want the scripts run by fastcgi/php to be able to create files in user created directories and modify user created files.

    I am looking for a good storage format for large, gridded datasets. The application is meteorology, and we would prefer a format that is common within this field (to help exchange data with others). I don't need to deal with special data structures, and there should be a Fortran API. I am currently considering HDF5, GRIB2 and NetCDF4. How do these formats compare in terms of data compression? What are their main limitations? How steep is the learning curve? Are there any other storage formats worth investigating? I have not found a great deal of material outlining the differences and pros/cons of these formats (there is one relevant SO thread, and a presentation comparing GRIB and NetCDF).

I basically want it do something like this class someClass{ public: someClass(char * FILENAME) { fstream fileToProcess; fileToProcess.open(<FILENAME>, fstream::in | fstream::out | fstream::app); } }; I want to pass the filename in as an argument to the class constructor, and then the class someClass will access it with fstream.

  • Android : How to Remove all capital letters from image filenames before importing into Eclipse

    As you know, you can't have capital letters in your image filenames that you use in your Android project (Ressource/Drawables folder). I've got hundreds of small images (GOOG.GIF as an exemple) that I need to import into my project (I usually do a simple drag and drop from a desktop folder into Eclipse). So here's the question : How do I quickly change all the filenames (replace all capital letters to lower case) before importing into my project ? So, GOOG.GIF becomes goog.gif AAPL.GIF becomes aapl.gif etc. Any quick command line solution or another tool to do just that ? Thanks.

    I'm trying to detect whether an image exists on a remote server. However, I've tried several methods and can't get any of them to work. Right now I'm trying to use this: if (!CheckImageExists("http://img2.netcarshow.com/ABT-Audi_R8_2008_1024x768_wallpaper_01.jpg")) { print_r("DOES NOT EXIST"); } else { print_r("DOES EXIST"); }; function CheckImageExists($imgUrl) { if (fopen($imgUrl, "r")) { return true; } else { return false; }; }; But it returns 'true' whether the image actually exists or not (the above image should, but change it to gibberish and it still will return 'true'). I have a feeling it could be because if the URL does not exist, it redirects to the homepage of the site. But I don't know how to detect that. Thanks for any help!

    I'm using Java Swing (GUI) and I want to add a button to my project for opening files . I don't like the JFileChooser since it opens a small window for browsing through the files of the directories . Can I use something else , instead of the JFileChooser under Java Swing ? I've tried to use elements of SWT but it didn't work , meaning is the use of the button object and then use it inside the Jframe , but that failed , so I guess SWT and Swing don't mix together? Here is the example of Java Swing with JFileChooser and I'm looking for something like this to put in my JFrame.

  • What is the best way to detect Copy (Ctrl+C) event in an IWpfTextView?

    I am trying to detect a copy event in the text view and I have been researching the best way to do this. Is it to possibly hook into the StandardCommand Copy event somehow and detect it that way? Or is it possible to use the KeyProcessor(and simply detect Ctrl+C keypresses)? My extension is currently implementing the IWpfTextViewCreationListener; is there a way to somehow get access to the KeyProcessor or StandardCommand from the IWpfTextView that the listener is passing to me?     I'm using PHP to upload an image from a form to the server and want to rename the image lastname_firstname.[original extension]. I currently have: move_uploaded_file($_FILES["picture"]["tmp_name"], "peopleimages/" . "$_POST[lastname]" . '&#95;' . "$_POST[firstname]") which, of course, renames the file lastname_firstname without an extension. How do I rename the file but keep the extension? Thanks!
