CSS3 transparent gradient similar with Photoshop ColorPicker

I try to create a transparent gradient with CSS. I need it for a color picker app. I have a transparent PNG I could use but its is 20kb large and would request a new HTTP request. Suppress/Override application.html.erb

Is there any way to suppress the default js and css loaded by application.html.erb on a view by view basis? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to manage a global css and js includes configuration when certain views need different js libraries that for some reason seem to be conflicting with one another. For example, I might want jquery 1.3 for one view and 1.4.2 for another. I don't necessarily want to have to have an include for every view (I do want to have a global site-wide default), but I would also like to be able to override those for any view I want. Thanks!

Problem with From field in contact form and mail() function

I've got a contact form with 3 fields and a textarea... I use jQuery to validate it and then php to send emails. This contact form works fine but, when I receive an email, From field isn't correct. I'd like to want that From field shows text typed in the Name field of the contact form. Now I get a From field like this: <[email protected]> For example, if an user types "Matthew" in the name field, I'd like to want that this word "Matthew" appears in the From field. Creating a dataframe in pandas by multiplying two series together

Say I have two series in pandas, series A and series B. How do I create a dataframe in which all of those values are multiplied together, i.e. with series A down the left hand side and series B along the top. Hi there, Suposse you have to following tables where a sale consists of products and a product can be placed in multiple categories. Whereby categories have a hierachly structure like: Man Shoes Sport Casual Watches Women Shoes Sport Casual Watches Tables: Sale: id name 1 Sale1 Product: id saleidfk name 1 1 a 2 1 b 3 1 c 4 1 d 5 1 e ProductCategory : productid categoryid 1 3 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 10 Category: id ParentCategoryIdFk name 1 null Men 2 1 Shoes 3 2 Sport 4 2 Casual 5 1 Watches 6 null Women 7 6 Shoes 8 7 Sport 9 7 Casual 10 6 Watches Question: Now on my website I want to create a control where only the categories are shown of a certain sale and where the categories are filled with the products of the sale. I also want to include the hierachly structure of the categories. So if we have a leave node, recusivly go up to the top node. JavaScript Image zoom with CSS3 Transforms, How to calculate Origin? (with example)

I'm trying to implement an image zoom effect, a bit like how the zoom works with Google Maps, but with a grid of fix position images. I've uploaded an example of what I have so far here: http://www.dominicpettifer.co.uk/Files/MosaicZoom.html (uses CSS3 transforms so only works with Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Safari) Use your mouse wheel to zoom in/out. The HTML source is basically an outer div with an inner-div, and that inner-div contains 16 images arranged using absolute position. It's going to be a Photo Mosaic basically. I've got the zoom bit working using CSS3 transforms: $(this).find('div').css('-moz-transform', 'scale(' + scale + ')'); ...however, I'm relying on the mouse X/Y position on the outer div to zoom in on where the mouse cursor is, similar to how Google Maps functions. The problem is that if you zoom right in on an image, move the cursor to the bottom/left corner and zoom again, instead of zooming to the bottom/left corner of the image, it zooms to the bottom/left of the entire mosaic. This has the effect of appearing to jump about the mosaic as you zoom in closer while moving the mouse around, even slightly. That's basically the problem, I want the zoom to work exactly like Google Maps where it zooms exactly to where your mouse cursor position is, but I can't get my head around the Maths to calculate the transform-origin: X/Y values correctly. Please help, been stuck on this for 3 days now. Convert doc/docx to semantic HTML

I would like to convert doc/docx documents to semantic HTML. Some wishes/requirements: Semantic HTML such that headers in the document are <h1>, <h2> etc., tables are <table> and so forth. Should preferably be possible to handle headings, lists, tables and images. Graphs and math formulas is a nice extra. • Doesn't have to be converted straight from doc/docx to html, could use an intermediary format, such as xml or docbook. • Should work programatically, and with large number of documents. The closest thing to a solution I've found so far is http://holloway.co.nz/docvert/index.html, but unfortunately there are many a few bugs, small user base and it can't handle a lot of documents. More of a proof of concept.

So I want to refresh my php application once a day with a cron job. But I never wrote a cron job script before. I understand that I have to truncate all the tables/data and add the initial data. With phpmyadmin, I can import data. Is there any way I can import sql file after truncate the tables? What is the best way? Do I have to create table and insert all data? CSS3PIE: Internet Explorer 6 doesn't download PIE.htc

I'm using the very impressive CSS3PIE (http://css3pie.com) library to add support for CSS3 styles in IE6-8. It works fine in versions 7 and 8 and took a lot of pain out of the process. However, in IE6 no CSS3 styles are shown at all. In fact, looking at the server logs, I can see that IE6 doesn't even download the PIE.htc file, which is necessary for the magic to work. The content type for the file is set correctly as text/x-component, it's referenced by absolute URL, and works fine in IE7 and 8. I'm using Compass (www.compass-style.org) and the PIE helper which makes the CSS look like this: #shopping_cart { behavior: url("/media/static/css/PIE.htc"); position: relative; border-radius: 10px; } I can't figure out what the problem is. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause IE6 to skip the behavior definition altogether? Cheers, Jonas

django media url is not resolved in 500 internal server error template

Hi, I'm using a 500.html template for my app, which is an identical copy of the 404.html with some minor text changes. Interestingly the {{ media_url }} context variable will not be resolved by the server if the 500.html is presented (e.g. when I force an internal server error), resulting in a page without any css loaded. An easy way to circumvent this would be to hardcode the links to the css, but I m just curious why the media_url is not resolved. Probably it is because the server encounters a internal server error and that leads to context variables not any more available!?

Why is Magento 1.4 including javascript files by filesystem path?

I am in the process of testing a Magento 1.3 site using Magento 1.4. I am seeing very weird and inconsistent behavior. Instead of including the URL of my javascript files, Magento is creating tags with the full filesystem path of the js files, as so: <script type="text/javascript" src="/home/my_username/public_html/js/prototype/prototype.js"></script> I believe this is related to the new "Themes JavaScript and CSS files combined to one file" function. In fact, when I log into the admin and click "Flush JavaScript/CSS Cache", then the first page load is successful, and I see a single JS include similar to: <script type="text/javascript" src="/media/js/5b8cfac152fcb2a5f93ef9571d338c54.js"></script> But subsequent age loads load every single JS file, with the full path names. Which obviously isn't going to work. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix this issue?

I have two tables that I'm filling, 'msrun' and 'feature'. 'feature' has a foreign key pointing to the 'msrun_name' column of the 'msrun' table. Inserting in the tables works fine. But when I try to delete from the 'feature' table I get the following error: pysqlite2.dbapi2.OperationalError: foreign key mismatch From the rules of foreign keys in the manual of SQLite: - The parent table does not exist, or - The parent key columns named in the foreign key constraint do not exist, or - The parent key columns named in the foreign key constraint are not the primary key of the parent table and are not subject to a unique constraint using collating sequence specified in the CREATE TABLE, or - The child table references the primary key of the parent without specifying the primary key columns and the number of primary key columns in the parent do not match the number of child key columns. I can see nothing that I'm violating. Static Javascript files not loaded in Express app

I have an express app that has a bunch of static javascript files that aren't being loaded even though they are registered in my app.js file. Even public scripts (like jQuery: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.3/jquery.min.js) aren't processing. I can see the script tags in the generated html, but none of the functionality runs and I can't see the files loading in the web inspector. Trouble updating my datagrid in WPF

As the title indicates, I'm having trouble updating a datagrid in WPF. Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is a datagrid, that is connected to a SQL Server database, that updates automatically once a user enters information into a few textboxes and clicks a submit button. You'll notice that I have a command that joins two tables. The data from the Quote_Data table will be inserted by a different user at a later time. For now my only concern is getting the information from the textboxes and into the General_Info table, and from there into my datagrid. The code, which I'll include below compiles fine, but when I hit the submit button, nothing happens. So as a short-cut is just catching a key combination, I'm wonder how can I call the server methods which a short-cut key should fire? Jquery datePicker

I have slight issue with the jquery datepicker in that it displays ABOVE the target box. This is due to the way my page is set up. I found the issue with CSS in my page via firebug, unfortunately it conflicts with about 20 elements. Next I tried hooking into the "beforeShow event" which works but then after the event fires it just recalculates and puts it where ever it wants. beforeShow: function() { $('#ui-datepicker-div').show(); var offset = $('#ui-datepicker-div').offset(); $('#ui-datepicker-div').css({ top: (offset.top + 222) + 'px' }) } Does anyone else have any ideas how how I can reposition this? How to embed images in a single HTML / PHP file?

Hi, I am creating a lightweight, single-file database administration tool and I would like to bundle some small icons with it. What is the best way to embed images in a HTML/PHP file? I know a method using PHP where I would call the same file with a GET parameter that would output hardcoded binary data with the correct header, but that seems a bit complicated. Can I use something to pass the image directly in a CSS background-image declaration? This would allow me to utilize the CSS sprite technique. Browser support isn't an issue here, so more exotic methods are welcome also. EDIT Does someone have a link/example to how to generate Data URL's properly with PHP? I'd figure echo 'data:image/png;base64,'.base64_encode(file_get_contents('image.png')) would suffice but I could be wrong.

Best blogging tool to integrate into an existing website

Hi all, I'm looking for an easy way to integrate a blog into a website that I've developed with HTML and CSS and have already put a considerable amount of time and effort into. I've looked at WordPress, Movable Type, b2evolution, and a few others, but they all seem like overkill for me. I'm only going to be posting 1 maybe 2 times a week at most. Plus, all of the aforementioned tools seem hard to customize. I want my blog to look like the rest of my website, but I don't want to rebuild my site based on one of the blogging tools. Because, as I said before, I've already spent a lot of time rebuilding the site using HTML and CSS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
