• Database Structure for CakePHP Models

  We're building a data tracking web app using CakePHP, and I'm having some issues getting the database structure right. We have Companies that haveMany Sites. Sites haveMany DataSamples. Tags haveAndBelongToMany Sites. That is all set up fine. The problem is "ranking" the sites within tags. We need to store it in the database as an archive. I created a Rank model that is setup like this: rank ( id (int), sample_id (int), tag_id (int), site_id (int), rank (int), total_rows) ) So, the question is, how do I create the associations for tag, site and sample to rank? I originally set them as haveMany. But the returned structures don't get me where I'd like to be. It looks like: [Site] => Array ( [Sample] = Array(), [Tag] = Array() ) When I'm really looking for: [Site] => Array ( [Tag] = Array ( [Sample] => Array ( [Rank] => Array ( ...data... ) ) ) ) I think that I may not be structuring the database properly; so if I need to update please let me know. Otherwise, how do I write a find query that gets me where I need to be? Thanks! Thoughts? Need more details? Just ask!

• How to reload a tableView i.e call the viewDidLoad method if a condition is met

  The problem is this i need a way to basically erase all the entry data a user placed into my arrays if a condition is met. Im new to Objective-C and iOS programming, but i believed the solution might be in calling the viewDidLoad method, thus it would virtually refresh the applications with the values of the array reset to default. If there is any other logical way of doing this i would appreciate the help. In short i need to refresh the arrays as they were when the application first launched and the user did not select anything. • MPI Odd/Even Compare-Split Deadlock

  I'm trying to write an MPI version of a program that runs an odd/even compare-split operation on n randomly generated elements. Process 0 should generated the elements and send nlocal of them to the other processes, (keeping the first nlocal for itself). From here, process 0 should print out it's results after running the CompareSplit algorithm. Then, receive the results from the other processes run of the algorithm. Finally, print out the results that it has just received. I have a large chunk of this already done, but I'm getting a deadlock that I can't seem to fix. I would greatly appreciate any hints that people could give me. Here is my code http://pastie.org/3742474 Right now I'm pretty sure that the deadlock is coming from the Send/Recv at lines 134 and 151. I've tried changing the Send to use "tag" instead of myrank for the tag parameter..but when I did that I just keep getting a "MPI_ERR_TAG: invalid tag" for some reason. Obviously I would also run the algorithm within the processors 0 but I took that part out for now, until I figure out what is going wrong. Any help is appreciated.

  Hello friends, I have a JSP page on which I have a div tag in which there is a a IMG tag. Using this IMG tag I want to show an image in it. Here the source path of an image is comes from database so I assigned a JSP variable using JSP scriplet. This JSP variable have the source path of an image. This path of image may be of different machine or of same machine i.e. images are stored on different machine or on same machine i.e. on local machine on different drive. The problem is that how to give path of image stored on different machine as well as on same machine. I have tried different ways like by giving ip address of that machine. Here is the path that of local machine where the image is stored img src= file:\localhost\D:\ScannedSheets\testproj/batch1/IMG001.jpg style="z-index:1; position:absolute; top:0; left:0; width:850; height:1099" With this syntax the image is visible in Internet Explorer but With the same syntax Its not visible in FireFox, Google Chrome etc. Please Guide me in friends. Also tell me that how to give path of the image stored on different machine which works In Internet Explorer, FireFox, Google chrome etc.

• HTML Table: How to resize data cells when already specified "colspan"?

  I have tabular data to display, which has a meaning to both rows and columns. Columns are time blocks, rows are days. A particular datacell is confined to a single day, but can be in multiple time block. To show this, I am using the colspan tag. <div id = "GuideTable"> <table> <tr> <td colspan = 3> </td></tr></table> </div> Or Whatever. I'm trying to apply CSS formating to the entire table, and for changing colors, etc, things are fine, but wanting to have a consistent width is where I am running into problems. Right now, each data cell's width seems tied to the maximum width in its column (everything auto lines up). Some columns are itty bitty, others are huge. I'm trying to make columns consistently sized (even if that means every column is as big as the biggest column needs to be), but setting an individual datacells width (either via css or in the tag itself) is getting me nowhere. I'm thinking maybe the colspan tag is overriding my manual width? If that's the case, how can I change the width of a column as a whole, especially since they aren't explicitly defined? (CAN you explicitly define columns?) Examples of the CSS I'm using: #GuideTable td{ background:#ffffff; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; width: 100px; }

  I get my Broadcast receiver to set a recurring alarm, to fire up a service. Unfortunately this does not result in the service being called repeatedly (based on logcat). I've experimented with different values for the time interval too. Can someone help? However, my case is that the keyboards are different some fields. For example, one fields is numeric & punctuation, and the next one is default (alphabetic keys). For the numeric & punctuation keyboard is OK, but the next field will stay as the same layout. It requires user to press 123 to go back ABC keyboard. I am not sure if there is any way to reset the keyboard for a field as its keyboard defined in xib? Not sure if there is any APIs available? I guess I have to do something is the following delegate? -(void)textFieldDidBegingEditing:(UITextField*) textField { // reset to the keyboard to request specific keyboard view? .... } OK. I found a solution close to my case by slatvik: -(void) textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField*) textField { textField.keyboardType = UIKeybardTypeAlphabet; } However, in the case of the previous text fields is numeric, the keyboard stays numeric when auto-jumped to the next field. Is there any way to set keyboard to alphabet mode?

• Encode_JSON Errors in Lasso 8.6.2 After Period of Time

  We are in the process of converting apps from Lasso 8 to Lasso 9, and as an intermediate step, have upgraded from 8.5.5 to 8.6.2 (which runs alongside 9 on our new box, in different virtual hosts). I am finding that with 8.6.2 we are getting a slew of errors on pages that call encode_json. The weird thing with these errors is that they don't start happening until some period of time after the site starts. Then, some hours later, all encode_json calls begin to fail with error messages like this: An error occurred while processing your request. Error Information Error Message: No tag, type or constant was defined under the name "?????????????????" with arguments: array: (pair: (-find)=([\x{0020}-\x{21}\x{23}-\x{5b}\x{5d}-\x{10fff}])), (r) at: onCompare with params: 'r' at: JSON with params: 'reload', -Options=array: (-Internal) at: JSON with params: @map: (reload)=(false), (tcstring)=(LZU), (timestring)=(10:42 AM&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;1442Z) at: [...].lasso with params: 'pageloadtime'='1383038310' on line: 31 at position: 1 Error Code: -9948 (Yes, those Chinese(?) characters are in the error message.) I have removed the 8.5.5 encode_json tag from LassoStartup, so we are using the correct built-in method. The encode_json method fails for any and all parameters I throw at it from simple strings to arrays of maps. Upon restarting the site, encode_json resumes working for an hour or two, seemingly depending on load. On 8.5.5, we don't have this problem. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Any advice regarding trying the 8.5.5 tag swap encode_json to see if I can override the built-in method? Maybe it will work better? Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. -Justin

  Hi, after processing my first steps in working with XML in java I am now at the point where I want to update some data in my XML/GPX file... Reaplacing it in my "Document" data type works great :) How here comes the question: how can I store the changed "document"-model back to my file? Do I have to do this by using the standart file-functions (via steams and so on) oder is the a more elegant way to do this? ;-) Here's the code I already worked out, maybe that could help. • Debugging Widget causes ANR

  I'm trying to debug an AppWidget but I incurred in a problem :D I placed a breakpoint on the top of the method: public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { Log.v(TAG, "onReceive 1"); // BP on this line super.onReceive(context, intent); String action = intent.getAction(); // Checks on action and computations ... Log.v(TAG, "onReceive 2"); updateWidget(context); Log.v(TAG, "onReceive 3"); } The breakpoint stops the execution as expected but then the process dies. The problem is that the breakpoint ( I guess xD ) cause an ANR and the ActivityManager kills the process. That's the Log: 01-07 14:32:38.886: ERROR/ActivityManager(72): ANR in com.salvo.wifiwidget 01-07 14:32:38.886: INFO/Process(72): Sending signal. PID: 475 SIG: 9 ...... ...... 01-07 14:32:38.906: INFO/ActivityManager(72): Process com.salvo.wifiwidget (pid 475) has died. This cause the debug to stop. So the question is: there's a way to debug the widget without incurring in the ANR?? thanks in advance for the answers

• bluetooth BluetoothSocket.connect() thread. how to close this thread

  I am trying to make an android app that makes connection with bluetooth device. It works fine but when I call BluetoothSocket.connect() and it is not able to connect to devise its blocking. The thread and does not throw any exception. So when I try to close application while connect() is running its not responding. How can I cancel it? • DotNetOpenAuth OpenID Provider "Sequence contains more than one element"

  Hello, all, I'm having trouble implementing my OpenID provider with DNOA 3.4.3. Everything was going absolutely peachy until I needed AX support as well. I set AXFetchAsSregTransform in the web config, as recommended by Andrew at http://groups.google.com/group/dotnetopenid/browse_thread/thread/5629a24c0a7e8d99. Doing this caused me to get the exception "Sequence Contains More Than One Element" on my decide.aspx page, however, and I haven't been able to get past it. The following line is throwing the exception: Edit: Strangely enough, this is not the line throwing the error anymore. The SendResponse() is now triggering the exception ClaimsRequest requestedFields = ProviderEndpoint.PendingRequest.GetExtension(); ProviderEndpoint.SendResponse() Any thoughts on why this may be? • Using Image Source with big images in WPF

  I am working on an application that allows users to manipulate multiple images by using ItemsControl. I started running some tests and found that the app has problems displaying some big images - ie. it did not work with the high resolution (21600x10800), 20MB images from http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/BlueMarble/BlueMarble_monthlies.php, though it displays the 6200x6200, 60MB Hubble telescope image from http://zebu.uoregon.edu/hudf/hudf.jpg just fine. The original solution just specified an Image control with a Source property pointing at a file on a disk (through a binding). With the Blue Marble file - the image would just not show up. Now this could be just a bug hidden somewhere deep in the funky MVVM + XAML implementation - the visual tree displayed by Snoop goes like: Window/Border/AdornerDecorator/ContentPresenter/Grid/Canvas/UserControl/Border/ContentPresenter/Grid/Grid/Grid/Grid/Border/Grid/ContentPresenter/UserControl/UserControl/Border/ContentPresenter/Grid/Grid/Grid/Grid/Viewbox/ContainerVisual/UserControl/Border/ContentPresenter/Grid/Grid/ItemsControl/Border/ItemsPresenter/Canvas/ContentPresenter/Grid/Grid/ContentPresenter/Image... Now debug this! WPF can be crazy like that... Anyway, it turned out that if I create a simple WPF application - the images load just fine. I tried finding out the root cause, but I don't want to spend weeks on it. When you just specify a file path in Image.Source - the application actually uses less memory and works faster than if you use BitmapImage.DecodePixelWidth. Plus with Image.Source if you have multiple Image controls that point to the same image - they only use as much memory as if only one image was loaded. With the BitmapImage.DecodePixelWidth solution - each additional Image control uses more memory and each of them uses more than when just specifying Image.Source. Perhaps WPF somehow caches these images in compressed form while if you specify the decoded dimensions - it feels like you get an uncompressed image in memory, plus it takes 6 times the time (perhaps without it the scaling is done on the GPU?), plus it feels like the original high resolution image also gets loaded and takes up space. If I just scale the image down, save it to a temporary file and then use Image.Source to point at the file - it will probably work, but it will be pretty slow and it will require handling cleanup of the temporary file. If I could detect an image that does not get loaded properly - maybe I could only scale it down if I need to, but Image.ImageFailed never gets triggered. Maybe it has something to do with the video memory and this app just using more of it with the deep visual tree, opacity masks etc. Actual question: How can I load big images as quickly as Image.Source option does it, without using more memory for additional copies and additional memory for the scaled down image if I only need them at a certain resolution lower than original? Also, I don't want to keep them in memory if no Image control is using them anymore.

• Magento My Account Layout XML Problem

  Hi there, I'm having issues getting the customer.xml layout file to work properly for the customer's "my account" pages. The navigation links and the previously ordered items that are usually on the left hand side of the page won't show up on the page, but if I change the reference name to "content" in the xml file, it shows up (except it's obviously then on the right hand side). I've checked the template it's referencing (2columns-left.phtml), and the getChildHtml('left') is there in the correct position.
