I would like to know the options to manipulate the Excel spreadsheets using ASP.NET 2.0 without using Excel object as web server does not have MS Office installed.
What is the best way or recommended best practice in the flow of database driven asp.net web application? I mean the Database first or coding first or side by side?
Hi,
Just moved a symfony project from local (win) to server (linux), and the icons in the web debug toolbar have disappeared. Only the image alts remain so I guess it's a path issue with the images. Basically, I see "Time 300ms" instead of "[icon] 300ms" for each of the items.
I'm a little worried that some other paths aren't broken as well that are going to be a pain to find.
Has anyone had/resolved this issue?
Thank you.
I am working on a project where I need to embed a web server into my C++ application. I am looking for an open-source library supporting SSL, written in C or C++ and with a licensing scheme that will allow me to link it into my existing closed source code. Any suggestions of specific products or where to look first?
Looking for a way to retrieve a file size from a web server using cocoa/foundation. I know one can use NSURLconnection which will return NSURLResponse that contains the file size. Is there any other way to get the size. I'm looking for a synchronous way of doing it so when i do [myClass getsize] the size is returned.
Thanks

I wonder which option is more stable (leaving performance aside) and is more widely used (I assume the widely used one is the most stable):
apache - mod_wsgi
apache - mod_fcgid
apache - mod_proxy_ajp
apache - mod_proxy_http
for a project that will serve REST services with small json formatted input and output messages and web pages, up to 100 req/s. Please comment on apache if you think nginx etc. is more suitable.
Thanks.
I noticed in the main Django introductin they show a feature that maps python objects to the database. This doesn't strike me as being mutually exclusive with with development, is there any reason why this can't be used for non web apps? Is it easy to separate out?
A very broad question, but how would you handle multiple domain names for different clients? Do you setup a "Web Hosting"-like server where you install Cpanel?
What are other cheaper alternatives to Cpanel?

Hi,
i would like to set the date format of all the dates in my web application in a central location.
i mean if the website is opened in USA it will have a format such as
3/19/2010 (March/19/2010)
while in Italy will be
19/3/2010 (19/March/2010)
i am no really concerned with how to locate the users but indeed on how to set the different date format for the whole application in one single location in c#.NET
thanks

I have an erlang program which runs a server on a local machine and I would like it to start a local web browser and point to itself on startup. How can I do this in a portable way across Windows XP. Vista, and Windows 7?

I'm looking for a browser control where users can preview a web page and then highlight elements of it and once highlighted, I can get the div or id of the element selected.

Hello All-
I'm having trouble with a URL string in my Web Application. It's using a UNC path similar to \\houtestmachine\common\File1.pdf My problem is when it encounters files that have a # character. I tried doing a string newstring = originalstring.Replace("#", "%23"); but the # is still there in URL (target of a hyperlink) at runtime in the browser. How can I fix this?
In my web application(J2EE), I would like to print a pdf file generated on the server side

Hello, I have some text in a web browser on my form in visual studio, this form is going to be displayed on a big screen and it's content need to be mirrored(flipped) in order to be seen on the other place through mirror. It is not rotation actually. I know it is possible to do it with images, but it is not applicable in my case, because browser's document is scrolling.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
