• Unit Testing Codeigniter Classes with fooStack - clashes

  I'm having 'fun' testing interactions in a CodeIgniter based web app. It seems when running the entire test suite "phpunit AllTests.php" it loads all of the test classes, their targets (Systems under Test) and creates a PHPUnit_Framework_TestSuite instance which presumably iterates over the classes which extend CIUnit_TestCase and runs them. The problem comes where you have multiple classes referencing another class (such as a library). As all the classes are loaded into the same process space, PHP reports "cannot redefine class xyz". Have I missed something here or doing something haenously wrong? In my test class i'm doing something like: include_once dirname(__FILE__).'/../CIUnit.php'; include_once dirname(__FILE__).'/../../libraries/ProductsService.php'; class testProductsService extends CIUnit_TestCase { public function testGetProducts_ReturnsArrayOfProducts(){ $service = new ProductsService(); $products = $service->getProducts(); $this->assertTrue(is_array($products)); } } The problem manifests as I have a controller which does: $this->load->library('ProductsService');

• Need direction in creating an application which generates a crud form

  Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of any way i can implement an application which will do the following. Allow a user to specifiy a connection string to a sql db Allow a user to specify a table in the db Allow a user to specify columns from the specified table Generate Views & a Controller with Crud methods on the fly for the specified table columns in a subdirectory on the current web app. I'm aware that there are apps that currently do this (such as sharepoints list creation stuff), but i'd like to see how this was accomplished and recreate it for my own learning purposes. • iPhone UITableView trigger a parent method?

  Okay, so I'm working on an iPhone app with a preferences-esque section where there's a base TableView, which has one section, and several rows of customized cells to hold a name and a value label. Clicking on a row brings up another View, which allows the user to pick from a list (another TableView), and select an item. All of these TableViews are done programatically. The base TableView has a property that holds a Controller instance for each of the "pick from the list" Views. Each of the "pick from the list" views has a property called chosenValue that has the currently-selected option. I've gotten the UI to handle the didSelectRowAtIndexPath to update the chosenValue property and then "pop" the view (going back to the main TableView). But, even though the main TableView's cellForRowAtIndexPath method references the chosenValue property of the subview that's held in a property, the view doesn't update when an item is selected. In short, how can the sub-view trigger a reloadData on the parent object, after it "pops" and unloads?

  Hi, I have a screen with a webView in my navigation controller stack and when I navigate from this view back to a previous before the page completely loaded I get a EXCEPTION_BAD_ACCESS. Seems, that the view with a webView being released before it comes to webViewDidFinishLoad function. My question is how to overcome this problem? I don't expect from the user to wait till the page loads... • How UIWindow#addSubview can make memory leak?

  Hello, I started to learn using Instrument, but I cannot figure it out. After I start my application, the UI shows up, I do nothing and after few seconds I can see memory leak detected: When I have a look at the second leak I can see the following stack: When I double click on the cell related to my code I can see that it is pointing to the following line of code: [window addSubview:newPostUIViewController.view]; from the method: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { //creating view controller newPostUIViewController = [[NewPostUIViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"NewPostView" bundle:nil]; newPostUIViewController.title = @"Post it!"; [window addSubview:newPostUIViewController.view]; // Override point for customization after application launch [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } I wonder, how this can be a reason of a leak? • How do I render the scrollable regions of a canvas with IViewObject::Draw?

  Hi, I've been trying to render the entire canvas in an IWebBrowser2 control to a bitmap. IViewObject::Draw seems to be the most promising approach, but I can't get it to render anything that would requires a scroll to show. While I could automate the scrolling and stitch the images together, this would look weird with any fixed position elements. Is this even doable? Additionally, I've tried to set the controller's size to one that would allow the entire contents to display without needing to scroll, but Windows caps the max size to the current screen resolution, so that only gets me partially there. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm currently doing this in the context of Win7 and IE8, but I don't think that should matter much.

  Hello guys. I'm using ASP.MVC and trying to learn... Why is that? I even tried to create a specific method ListByType(int id) and the correspondent view, but that does not work too (URL: http://server/Autor/ListByType/1) Any ideas? Thanks in advanced EDIT Oh, the http://server/Autor works just fine. The method without parameters is spitting out my view correctly.

• Zend Framework - tinyMCE - plugin folders are mistaken to be controllers? Help

  Hi guys I'm trying to integrate the tinymce plugin however I'm running into problems such that almost every feature which requires a plugin to be rendered i.e the add url popup or add image pop up - it opens an empty pop up window. Even if I try to open it inline I get the same blank popup window.. I noticed that whenever I click on lets say url button in tinymCE it opens with reference to my localhost and because of that I'm assuming my application is mistaking the containing javascript folder to be some controller or action. How can I fix this please - I've set up mod rewrite to allow clean urls as well as ignore the javascript folder but this is a different issue altogether :( what should I be looking at here.. I can't notice any error sin firebug..

  I have a View that renders something like this: "Item 1" and "Item 2" are <tr> elements from a table. After the user change "Value 1" or "Value 2" I would like to call a Controller and put the result (some HTML snippet) in the div marked as "Result of...". I have some vague notions of JQuery. I know how to bind to the onchange event of the Select element, and call the $.ajax() function, for example. But I wonder if this can be achieved in a more efficient way in ASP.NET MVC2.

If I do this in my controller explicitly: ICollection<IValidationResult> test = bla.ValidationResults(); I get the validation errors which I could add to my asp.net mvc modelstate ideally, i would like an exception being thrown during: bla = blaRepository.SaveOrUpdate(bla); if i try to save or update the domain object. why is this not happening? my domain object bla derives from Entity. do I have to register something somehow? • ASP.Net MVC Toggling IsAjaxRequest property based on file upload?

  I have a form all setup to upload a file and that is working fine. However the way my form is submitted is through AJAX. The button that submits is still a type="submit" in case JS is off. When I save my form the controller determines whether the IsAjaxRequest is true and if so returns some JSON otherwise it does a RedirectToAction. When I don't specify a filepath in my input type="file" it considers IsAjaxRequest as true. If there is a filepath set then it thinks that IsAjaxRequest is false. How is it determining that? My other problem is that when it thinks IsAjaxRequest is false and does a RedirectToAction("Index") I don't actually get sent to the Index view. Thanks

  I have a Logon page in a MVC (1.0) application that I am securing with SSL, I have an attribute that inspects the request for the page and redirects to a https uri when it is requested with http. This all works, however when I post the form content i get the following error: The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter 'rememberMe' of non-nullable type 'System.Boolean' for method 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult LogOn(System.String, System.String, Boolean, System.String)' in 'DAC.US.Web.Portal.Controllers.AccountController'. To make a parameter optional its type should be either a reference type or a Nullable type. Parameter name: parameters here is the controller code... // // GET: /Account/LogOn [RequiresSSL] public ActionResult LogOn(string ReturnUrl) { if (TempData["Message"] != null) ViewData["Message"] = TempData["Message"]; TempData["Message"] = null; ViewData["ReturnUrl"] = ReturnUrl ?? "/Home"; return View(); } Again, the RequireSSL Attribute works, but the POST from that SSL uri does not. What is not working?

• System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Length of the data to decrypt is invalid Error

  I used the code on http://www.obviex.com/samples/Encryption.aspx for encryption/decryption. I was successful in creating a simple test to functionality encrypt and decrypt data. However, I keep on getting the following error when I test the decrypt function that is used from the Accounts Controller. I am thinking it either has to do with the Machine Code within the Web.config or the the last byte not getting read by the decrypt code. Error: "Length of the data to decrypt is invalid" Note: I tried the padding fix I found on the internet and that did not work. Thanks in advance.

• Zend Framework: Flash Messenger, add a message from the model

  Any idea on how best to add a message to flash messenger from the model? As FlashMessenger is an action helper, this seems not to be possible, so the obvious solution is to create an internal message object in the model, and return that to the controller from where you can use addMessage(). But if you want to return something else as well, this falls down. Another idea is an additional session namespace for these internal messages, which is then merged in with the Flash Messenger namespace messages at output time? Anyone have any thoughts or experience on this? Cheers.

  Hello All, My Application is crashing due to low memory [ Received memory warning level 1 + 2] To trace this I have used Instrument and come with following points Test Enviorment : Single view controller added on Window When I don't use UIImageView Real Memory is used 3.66 MB When I uses UIImageView with Image having size 25 KB : Real Memory is used 4.24 MB. almost 560 KB extra when compare to w/o UIImageView and which keep on adding as I am adding more UIImageview on the view. below is sample code for adding UIImageview which I am refering UIImageView* iSplashImage = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"Default-Landscape.png"]]; iSplashImage.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480); [self.window addSubview:iSplashImage]; AND dealloc if(iSplashImage) { [iSplashImage release]; iSplashImage = nil; } Issue is this 560 KB is not getting release and after some time application receives low memory warning. • DVD Drive Failing on Windows 7

  Hello, I have x64 Windows 7 running on an ASUS M50VM. The DVD drive works completely unreliably if not at all. But the story is not that simple so bear with me...here are the gory details. When I first got the machine it came with Windows XP and I upgraded it to Windows Vista X64 and the DVD worked fine. When Windows 7 RC2 came out I tried it on a Virtual Machine and I liked it so much that I upgraded the machine to Win7 RC1. The DVD worked fine. Of course, RC1 was going to start spontaneously rebooting, so when Windows 7 was released I DID A CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 7. Just to clarify...by clean install I mean I did a FORMAT of the HARD DRIVE and INSTALLED it from scratch. EVER since then the DVD mostly doesn't work. I can sometime read from disk but that will often hang. (Please see my description below of HANG for details.) CD or DVD writes ALWAYS fail with a HANG (I have done a successful write only one time.) Here is what I mean by HANG... *Explorer Window is unresponsive. *Any software accessing the DVD drive is unresponsive. *The DVD tray will not eject. *Using a paper clip will eject but the disk is usually spinning real hard. *Attempting to shut down windows will fail. I have waited as long as ten minutes but the whole OS seems to hang. I do a hard shutdown. *Sometimes accessing the DVD (when it does not cause a HANG) will still fail and the device will actually seem to disappear from the system until I reboot. A couple of other things. It is NOT a hardware failure. It is the Windows OS. I know this because I swapped out my DVD drive with a friend with the same model...his machine is fine (he is still running Vista X64) and my machine still fails. For what it is worth. I swapped out my primary disk with the INTEL 160GB SSD. • Why won't my UISearchDisplayController fire the shouldReloadTableForSearchString method when I enter

  I've been following Apple's TableSearch code example, but it's not working for me and I think I'm doing everything the same way they did it. The method below should be fired whenever the user types anything into the search box, but it never gets fired for me, just on the sample app. I have the appropriate @interface ContactsTableVC : UITableViewController { in the header file. I'm not sure what I'm missing or where else to look. My NSLog never gets called.   Hi, can anyone tell me, how to retrieve joined result from multiple tables in cakePHP ( using cakePHP mvc architecture). For example, I have three tables to join (tbl_topics, tbl_items, tbl_votes. Their relationship is defined as following: a topic can have many items and an item can have many votes. Now I want to retrieve a list of topics with the count of all votes on all items for each topic. The above route will match the following though: domain.com/layout/1-slug or domain.com/layout/1-slug_permalink Seems like the hyphen that separates the ID from the Slug is causing issues.

• Optimal setup for ASUS P6X58D Premium BIOS (no OC)?

  Normally, I'd trust the mainboard manufacturer to choose the best options as defaults. But I had trouble with the board, because even with Quick Boot enabled, it booted twice as slowly as a Pentium 4 Celeron. Then I changed lots of options at once (most of them weren't explained in the manual, just mentioned with a single sentence) and the boot time is only marginally worse than the Pentium 4 (54 sec against 46 sec from button to pw entering screen). Now I don't know if I have turned something off which should have stayed on. I guess I even won't be able to boot from a CD now, because even though it is present in the boot sequence, I took off a timeout I think it needs to check whether there is a disk in the drive. The second reason is that I don't have an internal HDD, only a SSD. I forgot my sources blush but I am under the impression that today's BIOS and OS options are geared toward booting from a HDD, which is often less than optimal when one boots from a SSD, especially when there are functions which cause avoidable writing cycles, as a SSD wears out after too many writing cycles. Most of the things I've read concern the OS, but there are some BIOS-relevant options too. I am especially confused about the disk mode. The board supports AHCI, IDE-simulation and RAID, but of the different articles I've read, there is a proponent for each and no clear arguments for any. So can one tell me which options are important in general and which are important for a SSD-only system? I don't want to overclock the CPU, so you don't have to say anything about this (yes I know the board is meant for OC:)). I am thinking of overclocking the RAM, since they sold me 1600er heatsinked modules which are running at 1066 now, but I'm not sure yet about that. The rest of the system: i7-930, Intel X25-m G2, 6 GB RAM, GTS 250, some no-name Blue-ray ROM. 2 external HDDs over USB 2.0. Lots of other USB-connected hardware (12 devices I think), no SATA 3 drives (will disabling the controller have an impact on performance?), no LAN, only WiFi. Lucid Lynx 64 bit, no dual boot, no virtual installations. The main uses of the system are: managing and playing/showing all the media stored on the external disks, lots of image manipulation, some video editing, a bit of (non-demanding) gaming, rarely development. Lots of Internet surfing too, but this shouldn't have much impact on performance.
