• Rational Application Developer (RAD) 7.5+ and websphere runtime will not pick up jars from projects

  With RAD Version: 7.5.3, Java 1.5. I have a couple of different projects. I needed to break out the java code and turn the *.class files into a jar. So basically, same *.class files I just removed the code and then jarred the class files into a jar. I broke the classes into a jar and then included the jar in the project. And I also did an order/export on the jar so that other projects can see the jar. At this point, ideally my project should not have changed because I am using class files in a jar instead of the java code. When I visit my web application in websphere, I get class not found errors on the classes that are now in the jar. Project Structure: A. Project earApp -- will need the webapp B. Project webapp -- will need the project (no jar files or *.java files are found in this project) C. Project javasrc -- the java source and the NEW JAR file are found here. I don't think websphere is acknowledging the jar. • Security flaw in this code approach

  Hello, Am wondering if there would be any security flaw in this approach. I am writing a piece of code which allows users to upload files and another set to download those files. These files can be anything. User uploads the file (any file including .php files), it is renamed to an md5 hash (extension removed) and stored on server. A corresponding mySQL entry is made. The user trying to download the file, uses say download.php to download the file where the md5 file is sent (with the original name). Is there someway in which anyone can exploit the above scenario?

  I am using Apache fop-0.95 to build pdf files from a JSP web application on IBM iSeries V5R4 using Websphere 6.0. Everything works perfect in my development using Websphere Development Studio client. When I put the application on the server, I get an error at this line. FopFactory fopFactory = FopFactory.newInstance(); The error is: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: javax/imageio/ImageIO Does anyone know how I can fix this error? All of the fop class files are part of the EAR file. The files were installed to the projects \WEB-INF\lib directory. I have added the fop jar files to the classpath, using the admin console. • How to read FoxPro Memo with PHP?

  I have to convert .DBF and .FPT files from Visual FoxPro to MySQL. Right now my script works for .DBF files, it opens and reads them with dbase_open() and dbase_get_record_with_names() and then executes the MySQL INSERT commands. However, some fields of these .DBF files are of type MEMO and therefore stored in a separate files ending in .FPT. How do I read this file? I have found the specifications of this filetype in MSDN, but I don't know how I can read this file byte-wise with PHP (also, I would really prefer a simplier solution). Any ideas?

• Trying to use a authlogic-connect as a plugin in place of gem - Server doesn't start

  I am trying to use Authlogic-connect as a plugin in Rails 3 in place of a gem. I have made an entry in the gemfile as gem "authlogic-connect", :require => "authlogic-connect", :path => "localgems" Now when I run the bundle install, it runs fine. When I try to start the server i get the error Could not find gem 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' in source at localgems. Source does not contain any versions of 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' Try running `bundle install`. I have placed the unzipped Gem renamed as authlogic-connect in the localgems folder. what is the problem? • How get file names using OpenFileDialog in .NET (1000+ file multiselect)

  Maybe some of you have come across this before.... I am opening files for parsing. I'm using OpenFileDialog, of course, but i'm limited to a buffer of 2048 on the .FileNames string. Thus, I can only select a few hundred files. This is OK for most cases. However, fore example, I have in one case 1400 files to open. Do you know a way to do this with the open file dialog. I just want the string array of .FileNames, I pass that to parser class. I was also thinking of offering a FolderBrowserDialog option and then I'd use some other method to just loop through all the files in a directory, like the DirectoryInfo class. I'd do this as a last resort if I can't have an all in one solution.

• htaccess Redirect 301 problem .. all redirects with one string fail to redirect and 404

  So I have moved a website and am trying to 301 redirect everything, which I do quite often so this is a weird problem but probably something stupid I'm not seeing. ALL of my redirects are working fine, except any redirect that the first string starts with "/Dining" or "/dining" are failing. For example, this redirect works fine- Redirect 301 /healthfitness/teeth.cfm /healthcare/pretty-teeth ...as well as 100s of others. • Using VB6 + WSH with Windows Compression

  Having trouble with WSH and Windows Compression. My goal is to be able to zip up files (not folders, but individual files from various locations, which I have stored in an array) using the built-in Windows Compression. I am using VB6. I start getting errors from Windows (presumably, its calling the compression too fast, and the zip file is locked). I cant seem to figure out how to WAIT until the COPYHERE function completes before calling the next one to avoid issues. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks -

Basically, I'm grabbing source files from a few different places (specified by the VPATH), and trying to compile them into the another directory ( $CURDIR/OBJ/ ) using simply a list of .o-files that I want. Can I create .o's in any another directory other than current dir when using VPATH??

• Running multiple instances of tomcat in eclipse WTP

  Hey, SCENARIO: 10 CATALINA_BASEs with own configuration (always the same port numbers 8080, but 10 different IP/hostnames on one host via virtual IPs). created a server in WTP and pick "Use the custom location" option in the server configuration in eclipse. New configuration files are created in workspace/Server/server-name-config/ Set up the server path and deploy path for my catalina base (not the internal .metadata one) After I started it, the new configuration files overwrote the original catalina-base/conf files I had there - I was glad, it should be like this but after I made changes in the eclipse config files workspace/Server/server-name-config/ and restarted the server, the changes didn't appeared in the original files in CATALINA_BASE/conf What the hell is that ? So I set the CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml to fault configuration and restarted tomcat from eclipse and it worked ! it took the configuration from /Server/server-name-config/server.xml Then I deleted CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml and it said that there is no server.xml in catalina base ! How is it possible ? I don't understand why eclipse WTP developers made so tight integration. There should by just symbolic links in /Server/server-name-config/ pointing to CATALINA_BASE/conf/ ... now there is a weird system which is totally unpredictable. The changes in /Server/server-name-config/ are not reflected in CATALINA_BASE/conf ... from where the standard bootstrap.jar or other catalina classloaders and classes build server, engine and other objects with particular setting. Moreover the CATALINA_BASEs could be used outside eclipse then. The second problem, I'm setting up various things in CATALINA_BASE/bin/startup.sh and setenv.sh which is easy cause I can use bash for it. Is then modifying VM parameters in the "Open launch configuration" settings the only way how to do it in eclipse ? Sorry for such a huge pile of questions, but I'm annoyed by the fact that it is much better to not use eclipse WTP for this because it is very poorly designed and it's a shame because this would spare me a lot of time. And using the internal .metadata/ instances it's even more terrifying way that the one I described.

Then I have to put the code in the 6th one into the 5th file. then works. so, is it 5 files in max? BY THE WAY, I'm developing the apps now, not in production. so it is not in the stage of compressing JS / minizing it. :) so it is kinda annoying to got missing js files or files not loaded..etc so, what is the limit from FB? what is the file size limit? I know that the JSON request call back data limit is 5000.. but not sure about the js include.

• Apache and file permissions

  I'm running LAMP on Ubuntu 8.04. Apache's username and group are www-data. I put my connection details and AES key in a file in a directory that's not web served. I chown-ed the files to www-data:www-data and set the permissions to 700. Still, the script that require()s these files will only run if I chmod the files to 755. What am I missing?

• RegAsm for Class Library Used in VB6 Application

  To be short and to the point, I've built a C# class library that is both COM-Visible and Registered for COM Interop. I've compiled the library, which resulted in the generation of .dll and .tlb files. I have another machine that's running a VB6 application. So, I copied the .dll and .tlb files over to C:/Windows/system32 folder on the machine. I then registered those files using the following: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\RegAsm C:\Windows\system32\TestClass.dll /tlb:TestClass.tlb After the files were registered successfully, I added a project reference to the Test.tlb file from inside my VB6 app, then I tried to invoke a method in my new referenced class like so: Dim myObject As TestNamespace.TestClass Set myObject = New TestNamespace.TestClass MsgBox (myObject.TestMethod()) It doesn't work, and I receive a -2147024894 Automation Error. I've read that I shouldn't install the dll into a private folder like system32. I should either be registering in the GAC or I should be registering in another location using the "/codebase" option: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\RegAsm C:\TestClass.dll /tlb:TestClass.tlb /codebase Is there any reason I shouldn't be using system32? Past devs that have worked on this project have placed assembly files used by this VB6 project into system32 and there haven't seemed to be any issues. When I register my dll in the system32 location, I get the Automation Error. When I register my dll in another location (i.e. C:/), the method call into my class library from VB6 works as expected. What gives? I should mention that we will NOT be using the GAC to register any DLL's. That's just the way it is. Any help is appreciated. Mike

• Add new language to existing Xcode project localization

  Hey guys, I'm working on an existing Xcode 3.2.2 Universal iPhone OS project which is already localized for 4 languages (EN, IT, DE and FR). We are now adding a new language (JA) into this project. Each existing .lproj folder (en.lproj, it.lproj, de.lproj and fr.lproj) has almost 60 files - including PNGs, HTMLs and the Localizable.strings file. Each one of those files appear as localized groups inside Groups & Files in Xcode. They're spread all over the tree. If I right-click one of those groups (say, Localizable.strings) inside Xcode, Get Info, click on "Add Localization" and type "ja" - as the Xcode docs suggest, nothing happens. From what I read in this newgroup, it's possibly because of the way those folders are named. If they were named like English.lproj and Italian.lproj, this was supposed to work. So, for me to actually import a new language localized file into the existing group, I have to: Right-click the localized group file. Choose "Add Existing File". Select the corresponding file inside the ja.lproj folder. I'm about to get a new ja.lproj folder with those 60 localized files and would love to import them in the project in a way that doesn't involve searching for every single file in Groups & Trees and performing those steps... for every one of those 60 files. Is that possible? Is there a right (or better) way to import a new language into this Xcode project?

• Advanced Array Sorting in Ruby

  I'm currently working on a project in ruby, and I hit a wall on how I should proceed. In the project I'm using Dir.glob to search a directory and all of its subdirectories for certain file types and placing them into an arrays. The type of files I'm working with all have the same file name and are differentiated by their extensions. For example, txt_files = Dir.glob("**/*.txt") doc_files = Dir.glob("**/*.doc") rtf_files = Dir.glob("**/*.rtf") Would return something similar to, FILECON.txt ASSORTED.txt FIRST.txt FILECON.doc ASSORTED.doc FIRST.doc FILECON.rtf ASSORTED.rtf FIRST.rtf So, the question I have is how I could break down these arrays efficiently (dealing with thousands of files) and placing all files with the same filename into an array. The new array would look like, FILECON.txt FILECON.doc FILECON.rtf ASSORTED.txt ASSORTED.doc ASSORTED.rtf etc. etc. I'm not even sure if glob would be the correct way to do this (all the files with the same file name are in the same folders). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Delphi-5 single-file storage solution?

  Hi! Is there a Delphi-5 solution to easily integrate single-file storage into existing code? I would like to have files like Java *.jar or Openoffice document files which are zipped/compressed files and folders but with their own file extension. Edit: I know some ZIP capable components but in a nutshell I want to access files within the "container" and use normal file handling routines on them (eg. TStringList.SaveToFile). Any overhead about compress/uncompress should be handled by the component.

• Visualizing rst diffs with rst2pdf

  Is there an easy way to visualize the differences between rst files using rst2pdf? I know I could use rst2latex instead and then latexdiff to generate PDF files (and that is the effect I am after), but I would like to have the same style in the original and diff files.
