  • Jquery Hover Flickering issue

    Hi, Hope u people will be fine. Here is my basic code: http://jsfiddle.net/kr9pY/7/ in this demo you can see when we hover on div with id="container", a div with class="nav" fades in. But the problem is that after doing this if i hover on div with class="nav" the div fades out and in again, and if i mover cursor slightly within .nav div, it repeats this behavior repeatedly. I don't want to this behaviour when we hover on .nav div or mover cursor within this div. Thank, and sorry for my bad english.

    $.getScript("somescript.js", function() { alert('Load Complete'); }); Once loaded, is it cached or is it loaded again if referenced more than once? If an event depends on this file being loaded, will the event be delayed of fail/timeout in case the file takes longer to load or doesn't load? How do I check and do something in case the file fails to load for some reason? Thanks in advance for your help.

    I am having a very weird problem that just came up and my guess it's that it may be easy to solve, I just can't seem to figure out. in my layout/application.html.haml, I have the following: = javascript_include_tag :all Rather than RoR translating this to a lot of script-loading lines, it does the following: <script src="/beta/assets/all.js" type="text/javascript"></script> similarly, with defaults I get: <script src="/beta/assets/defaults.js" type="text/javascript"></script> What should I look for? or what I am missing? The page code looks like <td class="dCCItemValue" valign="bottom> <span id="S_0_1_5">Problem type</span> The id of the span tag is also generated dynamically and I have no control over it.     Why would POST work but not GET? I'm not using [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]. I'm calling this: public ActionResult GetTest(string key) { var test = new { HelpTest = key }; return Json(test); } And it works when I do this: $.post("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); But not this: $.get("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); Why would this be? Using GET returns an XMLHttpRequest.status of 500. What am I confused about?

    I have this code: var originalBorder = container.css("border"); container.hover(function(event) { event.stopPropagation(); $(this).css("border", "1px solid "+options.color); },function(){ $(this).css("border", originalBorder); }); Which I am using to add a border to the currently hovered element. However for example if a span is inside a div they are both getting borders. I only want to target the span. I thought that adding event.stopPropagation() would do the trick (this is what I would do in Flex, which is what I am more used to) but I guess this is a live event which I dont even understand what that means. So basically how can target the youngest element without triggering the parents? Thanks!!
