  This is almost a follow up of my last question. Now i have a splitview with a rootview / leftview that has a table and detailview / rightView that has some view controller pushed into it's navigationcontroller. So this is what i want to achieve: When i tap on a tablerow on my rootView , i want my detail view to push a viewController associated with that row... any ideas ? • Simple javascript string problem in ie6 and ie7

  I have a very simple function that takes a list of comma separated (x,y) points and imports them into a graph. I have FF, Chrome and IE8 installed. In Chrome, FF and IE8, I don't see the "After if:" alert. In IE6 and IE7, I see the following two alerts: Data in: (52,16),(100,90) After if: undefined undefined The "Data in" alert matches in all browsers. Any ideas?

• How to add request validation errors to ModelStateDictionary in ASP.NET MVC?

  Investigating the security of a system I'm building with ASP.NET MVC 2 led me to discover the request validation feature of ASP.NET - a very neat feature, indeed. But obviously I don't just want to present the users with the Yellow Screen of Death when they enter data with HTML in, so I'm out to find a better solution. My idea is to find all the fields that have invalid data and add them to the ModelStateDictionary before invoking the action such that they automatically appear in the UI as error messages. After googling this a bit it appears that no one have implemented this before which I find puzzling since it seems so obvious. Does anyone here have a suggestion on how to do this? My own idea is to supply a custom ControllerActionInvoker to the controller, as described here, that somehow checks for this and modifies the ModelStateDictionary but I'm stuck on how to do this last bit. Just catching HttpRequestValidationException exceptions does not seem a useful approach since it does not actually contain all the information I need.

• Web setup project removes files after upgrade from VS2008 to VS2010

  I have a web setup project built using VS2008. I've converted my solution to VS2010 and now when I build my new installer and run the install from the MSI it installs fine, then at the last step, removes all the files it's just installed. I have RemovePreviousVersions set to true. If I turn this off the files remain in place (but I get multiple instances in the Programs and Features in the control panel). If I run the install again, the files reappear. From then on, the files always remain, even when installing another version. So, the problem seems to be with running an installer built using VS2008 and then running the same installer built by VS2010. The upgrade GUIDs on each installer are the same. What is the cause and how can I fix this?

  Hi, I have list of 200 rss feeds, which I have to downloading. It's continuous process - I have to download every post, nothing can be missing, but also no duplicates. So best practice should be remember last update of feed and control it for change in x-hour interval? And how to handle if downloader will be restarted? So downloader should remember, what were downloaded and dont download it again... It's somewhere implemented yet? Or any tips for article? Thanks

• Non-existent file in limbo prevents push to remote branch (Bazaar VCS)

  Hi! I use Bazaar VCS to version files locally on my notebook. When im in the office I merge the changes to a repository on a windows share and also push all the files there (for backup reasons). My Problem: The last push resulted in an error, because I added a file with a very long filename (I had that problem before ... python doesn't like long filenames). So I removed the file (I didn't need it anyway) and forgot about the problem for a while, because commiting still worked fine. The next time I wanted to push my new revision I got a new error: bzr: ERROR: [Error 3] Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden: u'//path/to/remote/branch/.bzr/checkout/limbo/new-8/loooooooongfilename.xls' translation: bzr: ERROR: [Error 3] The system can't find the following path: What I've tried: Deleting the limbo folder-- limbo folder doesn't exist Create the missing path with a dummy-file -- bazaar locks the branch -- unlock -- same problem as before bzr check -- Everything is fine -- No success bzr reconcile -- No success Thanks for reading ;o)

  I have a query that I'm trying to figure the "django" way of doing it: I want to take the last 100 calls from Call. Which is easy: calls = Call.objects.all().order_by('-call_time')[:100] However the next part I can't find the way to do it via django's ORM. I want to get a list of the call_types and the number of calls each one has WITHIN that previous queryset i just did. Normally i would do a query like this: "SELECT COUNT(id),calltype FROM call WHERE id IN ( SELECT id FROM call ORDER BY call_time DESC LIMIT 100 ) GROUP BY calltype;" I can't seem to find the django way of doing this particular query.   Hey guys, I have a WordPress site for a client. He owns a video store, and I made a site for him to update the list of movies, usually just the "new this week" movies. The Pod has a field where you insert the release date. 2010-04-20 Then there is a Pod page/template combo that calls the movies with a certain release date like this: $date = pods_url_variable('last'); He then just creates a blank WP page with the slug 2010-04-20 So when you open that page, the Pod page/template reads that slug and renders a list of the appropriate movies. My problem: I need these to be searchable. Is this possible. I'm also open to suggestions on other ways to go about making this site work. I need it to be as simple as that. Uploads some movies and creates a new page. Then the rest is done automatically. Please and thank you guys

  Is it just me or there is a serious dearth of Front End Web Developer positions for recent grads. I have been working as one for the last 6 months now after my graduation and I understand that most of the front-end skills are not taught at academia and the profession requires a lot of discipline and patience to learn them on your own. I see a plethora of opportunities for recent grads for back-end positions but very few for front end positions. Does the industry have an understanding that Front-End positions require more expertise than back-end positions? Just my thoughts but not many people seem to keen to hire recent grads for front-end positions.

• How to ignore/prevent javadoc folder from validation during Eclipse Build?

  In my war is a huge javadoc folder. There is no point in validating it since javadocs are produced by Sun(Oracle) javadoc utility. I have forgotten how I did it the last time. I need to tell Eclipse build not to validate that particular folder. Reasons why I need it: 1. the html produced by Sun javadoc generation utility does not meet the requirement that Eclipse uses - there is a bug report in Eclipse but Eclipse responds that Sun javadoc generator non-compliance is not their fault and that Eclipse intends to stick to their strict compliance. Which results in lots of html errors listed in the problems tab. 2. the javadoc folder is a remote link and high activity on that link is using up my cpu resource, and because it is a link to a remote location, that cpu high activity is sustained for long time until it finishes scanning the whole 35MB javadocs.   If my HTML says something along the following <div class="container"> <div class="element"> </div> <div class="element"> </div> [...] <div class="element"> </div> </div> is it then possible to align those elements as if they were in a two-column table? I.e. with 7 elements there would be 4 rows, with the last row only having one element. (The elements themselves have NO special classes or ids like right,left,etc.)

  Hi, I'm deploying my WPF app with ClickOnce. When developing locally in Visual Studio, I store files in the isolated storage by calling IsolatedStorageFile.GetUserStoreForDomain(). This works just fine and the generated path is C:\Users\Frederik\AppData\Local\IsolatedStorage\phqduaro.crw\hux3pljr.cnx\StrongName.kkulk3wafjkvclxpwvxmpvslqqwckuh0\Publisher.ui0lr4tpq53mz2v2c0uqx21xze0w22gq\Files\FilerefData\-581750116 (189 chars) But when I deploy my app with ClickOnce, the generated path becomes too long, resulting in a DirectoryNotFoundException when creating the isolated storage directory. The generated path with ClickOnce is: C:\Users\Frederik\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\Data\OQ0LNXJT.R5V\8539ABHC.ODN\exqu..tion_e07264ceafd7486e_0001.0000_b8f01b38216164a0\Data\StrongName.wy0cojdd3mpvq45404l3gxdklugoanvi\Publisher.ui0lr4tpq53mz2v2c0uqx21xze0w22gq\Files\FilerefData\-581750116 (247 chars) When I browse the folders all but the last directory of the path exists. Then when trying to create a folder at this location windows tells me I can't create a directory because the resulting path name will be too long. How can I shorten the path generated by the IsolatedStorage?

• Can't parse a 1904 date in ARPA format (email date)

  I'm processing an IMAP mailbox and running into trouble parsing the dates using the mxDateTime package.
