  • Hash Function Added To The PredicateEqualityComparer

    - by Paulo Morgado
Sometime ago I wrote a predicate equality comparer to be used with LINQ’s Distinct operator. The Distinct operator uses an instance of an internal Set class to maintain the collection of distinct elements in the source collection which in turn checks the hash code of each element (by calling the GetHashCode method of the equality comparer) and only if there’s already an element with the same hash code in the collection calls the Equals method of the comparer to disambiguate. At the time I provided only the possibility to specify the comparison predicate, but, in some cases, comparing a hash code instead of calling the provided comparer predicate can be a significant performance improvement, I’ve added the possibility to had a hash function to the predicate equality comparer. You can get the updated code from the PauloMorgado.Linq project on CodePlex,

  • Css clicking problem [migrated]

    - by Shyghar
I'm building a strange div shaped structure and I need a hint to resolve a clicking problem. This is a jsfiddle to show you the issue. The structure for each element is: <div class="views-row"> <div class="diamonds-container"> CONTENT </div> </div> I have a onclick() event on .diamonds-container but the .views-row div of the next element [with red or blue background..] go over the container and stop the click event on it. I tryed to play with the z-index but I didn't have the expected result. How can I achieve this structure with a correct click event on diamonds-containers ? I think I can track the .views-row click with javascript and trigger manually a click on the previous diamonds-container but this will be my final option. How can I achieve this without javascript?

  • How can I make my generic comparer (IComparer) handle nulls? [closed]

    - by Nick G
Hi, I'm trying to write a generic object comparer for sorting, but I have noticed it does not handle the instance where one of the values it's comparing is null. When an object is null, I want it to treat it the same as the empty string. I've tried setting the null values to String.Empty but then I get an error of "Object must be of type String" when calling CompareTo() on it. public int Compare(T x, T y) { PropertyInfo propertyInfo = typeof(T).GetProperty(sortExpression); IComparable obj1 = (IComparable)propertyInfo.GetValue(x, null); IComparable obj2 = (IComparable)propertyInfo.GetValue(y, null); if (obj1 == null) obj1 = String.Empty; // This doesn't work! if (obj2 == null) obj2 = String.Empty; // This doesn't work! if (SortDirection == SortDirection.Ascending) return obj1.CompareTo(obj2); else return obj2.CompareTo(obj1); } I'm pretty stuck with this now! Any help would be appreciated.

  • Is there a way to specify a CSS3 transition to occur only on :hover and when returning from hover, not on every event? [closed]

    - by Steve
You could define the transition on the :hover event, which causes the browser to render only the effect into the hover and not out of it. a:hover { transition... } Using scale as an example, an image being scaled up would scale up on hover, but go straight back down without any transition when the cursor leaves the image. Or, you can set the transition on the element directly: a { transition... } Which by definition means any change that effects the scale of the element such as any developer set styles will work, but also the user zooming in and out the page, will cause there to be a transition. All the tutorials being spewed onto the internet at the moment point to using the latter, but wouldn't one consider this a usability flaw for anyone wanting to resize the page or taking any other action that may cause similar scenarios? Pages with large amounts of transitional hover scaling can go pretty mental if you zoom in and out of them.

  • Collisions and Lists

    - by user50635
I've run into an issue that breaks my collisions. Here's my method: Gather Input Project Rectangle Check for intersection and ispassable Update The update method is built on object_position * seconds_passed * velocity * speed. Input changes velocity and is normalized if 1. This method works well with just one object comparison, however I pass a list or a for loop to the collision detector and velocity gets changed back to a non zero when the list hits an object that passes the test and the object can pass through. Any solutions would be much appreciated. Side note is there a more proper way to simulate movement?

  • How do I swap two objects in C# (specifically Mono) without triggering GC?

    - by TenFour04
I have two array lists. that I want to swap each frame. My question is, does the variable 'temp' need to be a member variable to avoid triggering GC, assuming this method is called on dozens of objects each frame? I'm not creating a new object, just a new reference to an object. public void LateUpdate(){ ArrayList<int> temp = previousFrameCollisions; previousFrameCollisions = currentFrameCollisions; currentFrameCollisions = temp; currentFrameCollisions.clear(); } I've been told there's no reason to make a primitive into a member variable just to avoid GC, so my best guess is that this also applies to object references.

  • How can I find the closest vector to another in a specific direction?

    - by Sniper
Perhaps I am not phrasing it incorrectly in my searches, but I can not find anything on this. I have a vector3 with a specific direction that it is facing, I want to get the closest object to that position in that specific direction. Basically I want to get the object that is being aimed at. I have thought about finding all objects within a box and then finding the closest object to my vector from them results, but I am sure that there is a more efficient way. The Z axis is optional, the objects are most likely within a few meters of the search vector. http://i.stack.imgur.com/FafAu.jpg

  • Game Database Connectivity Java

    - by The Kraken
I'm developing a simple multi-player puzzle game in Java. Both players should be able to view the same game board on his own computer. Then, when one player makes an action in the game (ex. drags an object onto a coordinate space), the game's view should update automatically on the other computer's game screen. I'd like all this to happen over the internet, not requiring both computers to be on the same LAN connection. If I need to use SQL/PHP to accomplish this, I'm unsure how to design the database to accomplish something as simple as the following: Player A drags element onscreen Game sends coordinates of element to database/server Player B's computer detects a change to an item in the database Player B's computer grabs the coordinates of Player A's item Player B's machine draws onscreen elements at the received coordinates Could somebody point me in the right direction?

  • SQL Server Requery() sometimes hangs

    - by PSU
I have an issue with Visual C++ and Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2. The following code will occasionally hang: Object->Update(); if(Object->CanRestart()) { //Why does this not return?? m_pDBRoRBaseObject->Requery(); } Object is derived from CRecordset. It looks to me as though a call to ::SQLExecute(m_hstmt) in the Requery() method is hanging, but I can't (with my current skill set anyway) figure out a way around this. Has anyone had a similar problem, or an insight of any sort?

  • Why isn't the Spring AOP XML schema properly loaded when Tomcat loads & reads beans.xml

    - by chrisbunney
I'm trying to use Spring's Schema Based AOP Support in Eclipse and am getting errors when trying to load the configuration in Tomcat. There are no errors in Eclipse and auto-complete works correctly for the aop namespace, however when I try to load the project into eclipse I get this error: 09:17:59,515 WARN XmlBeanDefinitionReader:47 - Ignored XML validation warning org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: schema_reference.4: Failed to read schema document 'http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop/spring-aop-2.5.xsd', because 1) could not find the document; 2) the document could not be read; 3) the root element of the document is not . • handle null values for string when implementing IXmlSerializable interface

    - by user208081
    I have the following class that implements IXmlSerializable. When implementing WriteXml(), I need to handle the case where the string members of this class may be null values. What is the best way of handling this? Currently, I am using the default constructor in which all the string properties are initialized to empty string values. This way, when WriteXml() is called, the string will not be null. One other way I could do this is check using String.IsNullOrEmpty before writing each string in xml. Any suggestions on how I can improve this code? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Xml.Serialization; using System.Globalization; namespace TCS.Common.InformationObjects { public sealed class FaxSender : IXmlSerializable { #region Public Constants private const string DEFAULT_CLASS_NAME = "FaxSender"; #endregion Public Constants #region Public Properties public string Name { get; set; } public string Organization { get; set; } public string PhoneNumber { get; set; } public string FaxNumber { get; set; } public string EmailAddress { get; set; } #endregion Public Properties #region Public Methods #region Constructors public FaxSender() { Name = String.Empty; Organization = String.Empty; PhoneNumber = String.Empty; FaxNumber = String.Empty; EmailAddress = String.Empty; } public FaxSender(string name, string organization, string phoneNumber, string faxNumber, string emailAddress) { Name = name; Organization = organization; PhoneNumber = phoneNumber; FaxNumber = faxNumber; EmailAddress = emailAddress; } #endregion Constructors #region IXmlSerializable Members public System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchema GetSchema() { throw new NotImplementedException(); } public void ReadXml(System.Xml.XmlReader reader) { throw new NotImplementedException(); } public void WriteXml(System.Xml.XmlWriter xmlWriter) { try { // <sender> xmlWriter.WriteStartElement("sender"); // Write the name of the sender as an element. xmlWriter.WriteElementString("name", this.Name.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture)); // Write the organization of the sender as an element. xmlWriter.WriteElementString("organization", this.Organization.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture)); // Write the phone number of the sender as an element. xmlWriter.WriteElementString("phone_number", this.PhoneNumber.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture)); // Write the fax number of the sender as an element. xmlWriter.WriteElementString("fax_number", this.FaxNumber.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture)); // Write the email address of the sender as an element. xmlWriter.WriteElementString("email_address", this.EmailAddress.ToString(CultureInfo.CurrentCulture)); // </sender> xmlWriter.WriteEndElement(); } catch { // Rethrow any exceptions. throw; } } #endregion IXmlSerializable Members #endregion Public Methods } }

  • How do you traverse and store XML in Blackberry Java app?

    - by Greg
I'm having a problem accessing the contents of an XML document. My goal is this: Take an XML source and parse it into a fair equivalent of an associative array, then store it as a persistable object. the xml is pretty simple: <root> <element> <category_id>1</category_id> <name>Cars</name> </element> <element> <category_id>2</category_id> <name>Boats</name> </element> </root> Basic java class below. I'm pretty much just calling save(xml) after http response above. Yes, the xml is properly formatted. import java.io.IOException; import java.util.Hashtable; import org.w3c.dom.Document; import org.w3c.dom.Node; import org.w3c.dom.NodeList; import java.util.Vector; import net.rim.device.api.system.PersistentObject; import net.rim.device.api.system.PersistentStore; import net.rim.device.api.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder; import net.rim.device.api.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory; public class database{ private static PersistentObject storeVenue; static final long key = 0x2ba5f8081f7ef332L; public Hashtable hashtable; public Vector venue_list; String _node,_element; public database() { storeVenue = PersistentStore.getPersistentObject(key); } public void save(Document xml) { venue_list = new Vector(); storeVenue.setContents(venue_list); Hashtable categories = new Hashtable(); try{ DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory. newInstance(); DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); docBuilder.isValidating(); xml.getDocumentElement ().normalize (); NodeList list=xml.getElementsByTagName("*"); _node=new String(); _element = new String(); for (int i=0;i<list.getLength();i++){ Node value=list.item(i).getChildNodes().item(0); _node=list.item(i).getNodeName(); _element=value.getNodeValue(); categories.put(_element, _node); } } catch (Exception e){ System.out.println(e.toString()); } venue_list.addElement(categories); storeVenue.commit(); } The code above is the work in progress, and is most likely heavily flawed. However, I have been at this for days now. I can never seem to get all child nodes, or the name / value pair. When I print out the vector as a string, I usually end up with results like this: [{ = root, = element}] and that's it. No "category_id", no "name" Ideally, I would end up with something like [{1 = cars, 2 = boats}] Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Problem with XML Deserialization C#

    - by alex
I am having trouble with XML deserialization. In a nutshell - I have 2 classes: SMSMessage SMSSendingResponse I call an API that takes a bunch of parameters (represented by SMSMessage class) It returns an XML response. The response looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <data> <status>1</status> <message>OK</message> <results> <result> <account>12345</account> <to>012345678</to> <from>054321</from> <message>Testing</message> <flash></flash> <replace></replace> <report></report> <concat></concat> <id>f8d3eea1cbf6771a4bb02af3fb15253e</id> </result> </results> </data> Here is the SMSMessage class (with the xml serialization attributes so far) using System.Xml.Serialization; namespace XMLSerializationHelp { [XmlRoot("results")] public class SMSMessage { public string To { get { return Result. To; } } public string From { get { return Result. From; } } public string Message { get { return Result.Message; } } [XmlElement("result")] public Result Result { get; set; } } } Here is SMSMessageSendingResponse: using System.Xml.Serialization; namespace XMLSerializationHelp { [XmlRoot("data")] public class SMSSendingResponse { //should come from the results/result/account element. in our example "12345" public string AccountNumber { get { return SMSMessage.Result.AccountNumber; } } //should come from the "status" xml element [XmlElement("status")] public string Status { get; set; } //should come from the "message" xml element (in our example - "OK") [XmlElement("message")] public string Message { get; set; } //should come from the "id" xml element (in our example - "f8d3eea1cbf6771a4bb02af3fb15253e") public string ResponseID { get { return SMSMessage.Result.ResponseID; } } //should be created from the results/result element - ignore flash, replace, report and concat elements for now. [XmlElement("results")] public SMSMessage SMSMessage { get; set; } } } Here is the other class (Result) - I want to get rid of this, so only the 2 previously mentioned classes remain using System.Xml.Serialization; namespace XMLSerializationHelp { [XmlRoot("result")] public class Result { [XmlElement("account")] public string AccountNumber{ get; set; } [XmlElement("to")] public string To { get; set; } [XmlElement("from")] public string From { get; set; } [XmlElement("message")] public string Message { get; set; } [XmlElement("id")] public string ResponseID { get; set; } } } I don't want SMSMessage to be aware of the SMSSendingResponse - as this will be handled by a different part of my application

  • Correct XML serialization and deserialization of "mixed" types in .NET

    - by Stefan
My current task involves writing a class library for processing HL7 CDA files. These HL7 CDA files are XML files with a defined XML schema, so I used xsd.exe to generate .NET classes for XML serialization and deserialization. The XML Schema contains various types which contain the mixed="true" attribute, specifying that an XML node of this type may contain normal text mixed with other XML nodes. The relevant part of the XML schema for one of these types looks like this: <xs:complexType name="StrucDoc.Paragraph" mixed="true"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="caption" type="StrucDoc.Caption" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:choice minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="br" type="StrucDoc.Br"/> <xs:element name="sub" type="StrucDoc.Sub"/> <xs:element name="sup" type="StrucDoc.Sup"/> <!-- ...other possible nodes... --> </xs:choice> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="ID" type="xs:ID"/> <!-- ...other attributes... --> </xs:complexType> The generated code for this type looks like this: /// <remarks/> [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("xsd", "2.0.50727.3038")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTypeAttribute(TypeName="StrucDoc.Paragraph", Namespace="urn:hl7-org:v3")] public partial class StrucDocParagraph { private StrucDocCaption captionField; private object[] itemsField; private string[] textField; private string idField; // ...fields for other attributes... /// <remarks/> public StrucDocCaption caption { get { return this.captionField; } set { this.captionField = value; } } /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("br", typeof(StrucDocBr))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("sub", typeof(StrucDocSub))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("sup", typeof(StrucDocSup))] // ...other possible nodes... public object[] Items { get { return this.itemsField; } set { this.itemsField = value; } } /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTextAttribute()] public string[] Text { get { return this.textField; } set { this.textField = value; } } /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlAttributeAttribute(DataType="ID")] public string ID { get { return this.idField; } set { this.idField = value; } } // ...properties for other attributes... } If I deserialize an XML element where the paragraph node looks like this: <paragraph>first line<br /><br />third line</paragraph> The result is that the item and text arrays are read like this: itemsField = new object[] { new StrucDocBr(), new StrucDocBr(), }; textField = new string[] { "first line", "third line", }; From this there is no possible way to determine the exact order of the text and the other nodes. If I serialize this again, the result looks exactly like this: <paragraph> <br /> <br />first linethird line </paragraph> The default serializer just serializes the items first and then the text. I tried implementing IXmlSerializable on the StrucDocParagraph class so that I could control the deserialization and serialization of the content, but it's rather complex since there are so many classes involved and I didn't come to a solution yet because I don't know if the effort pays off. Is there some kind of easy workaround to this problem, or is it even possible by doing custom serialization via IXmlSerializable? Or should I just use XmlDocument or XmlReader/XmlWriter to process these documents?

  • Use JAXB unmarshalling in Weblogic Server

    - by Leo
Especifications: - Server: Weblogic 9.2 fixed by customer. - Webservices defined by wsdl and xsd files fixed by customer; not modifications allowed. Hi, In the project we need to develope a mail system. This must do common work with the webservice. We create a Bean who recieves an auto-generated class from non-root xsd element (not wsdl); this bean do this common work. The mail system recieves a xml with elements defined in xsd file and we need to drop this elements info to wsdlc generated classes. With this objects we can use this common bean. Is not possible to redirect the mail request to the webservice. We've looking for the code to do this with WL9.2 resources but we don't found anything. At the moment we've tried to use JAXB for this unmarshalling: JAXBContext c = JAXBContext.newInstance(new Class[]{WasteDCSType.class}); Unmarshaller u = c.createUnmarshaller(); WasteDCSType w = u.unmarshal(waste, WasteDCSType.class).getValue(); waste variable is an DOM Element object. It isn't the root element 'cause the root isn't included in XSD First we needed to add no-arg constructor in some autogenerated classes. No problem, we solved this and finally we unmarshalled the xml without error Exceptions. But we had problems with the attributes. The unmarshalling didn't set attributes; none of them in any class, not simple attributes, not large or short enumeration attributes. No problem with xml elements of any type. We can't create the unmarshaller from "context string" (the package name) 'cause not ObjectFactory has been create by wsldc. If we set the schema no element descriptions are founded and unmarshall crashes. This is the build content: <taskdef name="jwsc" classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.JwscTask" /> <taskdef name="wsdlc" classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.WsdlcTask"/> <target name="generate-from-wsdl"> <wsdlc srcWsdl="${src.dir}/wsdls/e3s-environmentalMasterData.wsdl" destJwsDir="${src.dir}/webservices" destImplDir="${src.dir}/webservices" packageName="org.arc.eterws.generated" /> <wsdlc srcWsdl="${src.dir}/wsdls/e3s-waste.wsdl" destJwsDir="${src.dir}/webservices" destImplDir="${src.dir}/webservices" packageName="org.arc.eterws.generated" /> </target> <target name="webservices" description=""> <jwsc srcdir="${src.dir}/webservices" destdir="${dest.dir}" classpathref="wspath"> <module contextPath="E3S" name="webservices"> <jws file="org/arc/eterws/impl/IE3SEnvironmentalMasterDataImpl.java" compiledWsdl="${src.dir}/webservices/e3s-environmentalMasterData_wsdl.jar"/> <jws file="org/arc/eterws/impl/Ie3SWasteImpl.java" compiledWsdl="${src.dir}/webservices/e3s-waste_wsdl.jar"/> <descriptor file="${src.dir}/webservices/META-INF/web.xml"/> </module> </jwsc> </target> My questions are: How Weblogic "unmarshall" the xml with the JAX-RPC tech and can we do the same with a xsd element? How can we do this if yes? If not, Exists any not complex solution to this problem? If not, must we use XMLBean tech. or regenerate the XSD with JAXB tech.? What is the best solution? NOTE: There are not one single xsd but a complex xsd structure in fact.

  • How to structure a Kohana MVC application with dynamically added fields and provide validation and f

    - by Matt H
I've got a bit of a problem. I have a Kohana application that has dynamically added fields. The fields that are added are called DISA numbers. In the model I look these up and the result is returned as an array. I encode the array into a JSON string and use JQuery to populate them The View knows the length of the array and so creates as many DISA elements as required before display. See the code below for a summary of how that works. What I'm finding is that this is starting to get difficult to manage. The code is becoming messy. Error handling of this type of dynamic content is ending up being spread all over the place. Not only that, it doesn't work how I want. What you see here is just a small snippet of code. For error handling I am using the validation library. I started by using add_rules on all the fields that come back in the post. As they are always phone numbers I set a required rule (when it's there) and a digit rule on the validation-as_array() keys. That works. The difficulty is actually giving it back to the view. i.e. dynamically added javascript field. Submits back to form. Save contents into a session. View has to load up fields from database + those from the previous post and signal the fields that have problems. It's all quite messy and I'm getting this code spread through both the view the controller and the model. So my question is. Have you done this before in Kohana and how have you handled it? There must be an easier way right? Code snippet. -- edit.php -- public function phone($id){ ... $this->template->content->disa_numbers = $phones->fetch_disa_numbers($this->account, $id); ... } -- phones.php -- public function fetch_disa_numbers($account, $id) { $query = $this->db->query("SELECT id, cid_in FROM disa WHERE owner_ext=?", array($id)); if (!$query){ return ''; } return $query; } -- edit_phones.php --- <script type="text/javascript"> var disaId = 1; function delDisaNumber(element){ /* Put 'X_' on the front of the element name to mark this for deletion */ $(element).prev().attr('name', 'X_'+$(element).prev().attr('name')); $(element).parent().hide(); } function addDisaNumber(){ /* input name is prepended with 'N_' which means new */ $("#disa_numbers").append("<li><input name='N_disa"+disaId+"' id='disa'"+ "type='text'/><a class='hide' onClick='delDisaNumber(this)'></a></li>"); disaId++; } </script> ... <php echo form::open("edit/saveDisaNumbers/".$phone, array("class"=>"section", "id"=>"disa_form")); echo form::open_fieldset(array("class"=>"balanced-grid")); ?> <ul class="fields" id="disa_numbers"> <?php $disaId = 1; foreach ( $disa_numbers as $disa_number ){ echo '<li>'; echo form::input('disa'.$disaId, $disa_number->cid_in); echo'<a class="hide" onclick="delDisaNumber(this)"></a>'; echo "</li>"; $disaId++; } ?> </ul> <button type="button"onclick="addDisaNumber()"><a class="add"></a>Add number</button> <?php echo form::submit('submit', 'Save'); echo form::close(); ?>

  • Getting an invalidoperationexception when deserialising XML

    - by Paul Johnson
Hi, I'm writing a simple proof of concept application to load up an XML file and depending on the very simple code, create a window and put something into it (it's for a much larger project). Due to limitations in Mono, I'm having to run in this way. The code I currently have looks like this using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Data; using System.Drawing; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.IO; using System.Collections; using System.Xml; using System.Xml.Serialization; namespace form_from_xml { public class xmlhandler : Form { public void loaddesign() { FormData f; f = null; try { string path_env = Path.GetDirectoryName(Application.ExecutablePath) + Path.DirectorySeparatorChar; // code dies on the line below XmlSerializer s = new XmlSerializer(typeof(FormData)); TextReader r = new StreamReader(path_env + "designer-test.xml"); f = (FormData)s.Deserialize(r); r.Close(); } catch (System.IO.FileNotFoundException) { MessageBox.Show("Unable to find the form file", "File not found", MessageBoxButtons.OK); } } } [XmlRoot("Forms")] public class FormData { private ArrayList formData; public FormData() { formData = new ArrayList(); } [XmlElement("Element")] public Elements[] elements { get { Elements[] elements = new Elements[formData.Count]; formData.CopyTo(elements); return elements; } set { if (value == null) return; Elements[] elements = (Elements[])value; formData.Clear(); foreach (Elements element in elements) formData.Add(element); } } public int AddItem(Elements element) { return formData.Add(element); } } public class Elements { [XmlAttribute("formname")] public string name; [XmlAttribute("winxsize")] public int winxs; [XmlAttribute("winysize")] public int winys; [XmlAttribute("type")] public object type; [XmlAttribute("xpos")] public int xpos; [XmlAttribute("ypos")] public int ypos; [XmlAttribute("externaldata")] public bool external; [XmlAttribute("externalplace")] public string externalplace; [XmlAttribute("text")] public string text; [XmlAttribute("questions")] public bool questions; [XmlAttribute("questiontype")] public object qtype; [XmlAttribute("numberqs")] public int numberqs; [XmlAttribute("answerfile")] public string ansfile; [XmlAttribute("backlink")] public int backlink; [XmlAttribute("forwardlink")] public int forwardlink; public Elements() { } public Elements(string fn, int wx, int wy, object t, int x, int y, bool ext, string extpl, string te, bool q, object qt, int num, string ans, int back, int end) { name = fn; winxs = wx; winys = wy; type = t; xpos = x; ypos = y; external = ext; externalplace = extpl; text = te; questions = q; qtype = qt; numberqs = num; ansfile = ans; backlink = back; forwardlink = end; } } } With a very simple xmlhandler xml = new xmlhander(); xml.loaddesign(); attached to a winform button. Everything is in the same namespace and the xml file actually exists. This is annoying me now - can anyone spot the error of my ways? Paul

  • Help with this code.

    - by karthick6891
    Heading ##Hey guys i need help with this code.The short version is,i have to do match the follwing by using drag and drop in jquery and later i need to show a message whether it is right or wrong. var output = "Wrong"; var old_item ; var new_item ; var newObjArray=[]; $(function() { var $gallery = $('.gallery'), $trash = $('.trash'); $('div',$gallery).draggable({ revert: 'invalid', containment: 'document', helper: 'clone', cursor: 'move', }); // let the trash be droppable, accepting the gallery items $trash.droppable({ //accept: '#gallery div', //activeClass: 'ui-state-highlight', tolerance: 'touch', drop: function(ev, ui) { new_item = ui.draggable; $(this).droppable("option","activeClass",'.ui-state-highlight'); if(contains(newObjArray,ui.draggable)) { newObjArray.pop(ui.draggable); } newObjArray.push(ui.draggable); deleteImage(ui.draggable,$(this)); } }); // let the gallery be droppable as well, accepting items from the trash $gallery.droppable({ //accept: '#trash li', activeClass: 'custom-state-active', drop: function(ev, ui) { recycleImage(ui.draggable); } }); // image deletion function function deleteImage($item,element) { var $list; $item.fadeOut(10,function() { if($(".ui-widget-content", element).length <1){ old_item = $item; $list = $('<div class="gallery ui-helper-reset"/>').appendTo(element); //$('ul',$trash).length ? $('ul',$trash) : $('<ul class="gallery ui-helper-reset"/>').appendTo($trash); $item.appendTo($list).fadeIn(10); } else{ recycleImage($(".ui-widget-content",element)); $list = $('<div class="gallery ui-helper-reset"/>').appendTo(element); $item.appendTo($list).fadeIn(10); old_item = $item; } }); } //check for given answer // image recycle function function recycleImage($item) { $item.fadeOut(10,function() { $item.find("img").end().appendTo($gallery).fadeIn(10); }); } // image preview function, demonstrating the ui.dialog used as a modal window }); function checkOrder(){ if(newObjArray==null){ } else if(newObjArray!=null){ if(newObjArray[0].attr("id")=="5"&& newObjArray[1].attr("id")=="1" && newObjArray[2].attr("id")=="3" && newObjArray[3].attr("id")=="2" && newObjArray[4].attr("id")=="4"){ parent.parent.increaseCorrectA(); } else{ parent.parent.increaseWrongA(); } } } function contains(a, obj) { var i = a.length; while (i--) { if (a[i] === obj) { return true; } } return false; } I am calling the function checkOrder() from the html page after the matching of items is over.What happens here is i have just stored the user responses on the draggable over droppable in an array,based on it's position.It is a bad practice cause,i am saying whether it's right or wrong through its position in the array.The only thing i can do is get the draggable's id present in the droppable.But i dont know how to get that inside the function checkOrder().Any ideas please?

  • Parse Nested XML tags with the same name

    - by footose
Let's take a simple XML document: <x> <e> <e> <e>Whatever 1</e> </e> </e> <e> <e> <e>Whatever 2</e> </e> </e> <e> <e> <e>Whatever 3</e> </e> </e> </x> Using the standard org.w3c.dom, I can get the nodes in X by doing.. NodeList fullnodelist = doc.getElementsByTagName("x"); But if I want to return the next set of "e" I try to use something like .. Element element = (Element) fullnodelist.item(0); NodeList nodes = pelement.getElementsByTagName("e"); Expecting it to return "3" nodes (because there are 3 sets of "e"), but instead, it returns "9" - becuase it gets all entries with "e" apperently. This would be fine in the above case, because I could probably iterate through and find what I'm looking for. The problem I'm having is that when the XML file looks like the following: <x> <e> <pattern>whatever</pattern> <blanks> <e>Something Else</e> </blanks> </e> <e> <pattern>whatever</pattern> <blanks> <e>Something Else</e> </blanks> </e> </x> When I request the "e" value, it returns 4, instead of (what i expect) 2. Am I just not understanding how the DOM parsing works? Typically in the past I have used my own XML documents so I would never name the items like this, but unfortunately this is not my XML file and I have no choice to work like this. What I thought I would do is write a loop that "drills down" nodes so that I could group each node together... public static NodeList getNodeList(Element pelement, String find) { String[] nodesfind = Utilities.Split(find, "/"); NodeList nodeList = null; for (int i = 0 ; i <= nodesfind.length - 1; i++ ) { nodeList = pelement.getElementsByTagName( nodesfind[i] ); pelement = (Element)nodeList.item(i); } // value of the nod we are looking for return nodeList; } .. So that if you passed "s/e" into the function, it would return the 2 nodes that I'm looking for (or elements, maybe I'm using the terminology incorrect?). instead it returns all of the "e" nodes within that node. I'm using J2SE for this, so options are rather limited. I can't use any third party XML Parsers. Anyway, if anyone is still with me and has a suggestion, it would be appreciated.

  • No improvement in speed when using Ehcache with Hibernate

I'm getting no improvement in speed when using Ehcache with Hibernate Here are the results I get when i run the test below. • Retrieve XML from URL

    I am having some problems retrieving a xml from url with the following code: private static String getAlbumArt(String artistName, String albumName){ try{ XMLParser xml_parser = new XMLParser(); String xml = xml_parser.getXmlFromUrl(getAlbumURL(artistName, albumName)); Document doc = xml_parser.getDomElement(xml); NodeList N = doc.getElementsByTagName("album"); Node node = N.item(0); NodeList N2 = node.getChildNodes(); System.out.println("1------"); for (int i = 0; i < N2.getLength(); i++) { Node detailNode = N2.item(i); if (detailNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) { System.out.println("2------"); if (detailNode.getNodeName().equalsIgnoreCase("image")) { String sizeVal = ((Element) detailNode).getAttribute("size"); String url = detailNode.getTextContent(); if (sizeVal.equalsIgnoreCase("large")) { return url; } } } } } catch (Exception e){ } return null; } The xml function which i call in the above code: public String getXmlFromUrl(String url) { String xml = null; try { DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost(url); HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity(); xml = EntityUtils.toString(httpEntity); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return xml; } getAlbumURL: public static String getAlbumURL(String artist, String album){ return URL_METHOD + METHOD_GETALBUM + AMPERSAND + API_KEY + AMPERSAND + PARAM_ARTIST + artist + AMPERSAND + PARAM_ALBUM + album; } XMLparser: public class XMLParser { // constructor public XMLParser() { } //Get XML from URL public String getXmlFromUrl(String url) { String xml = null; try { DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost(url); HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity(); xml = EntityUtils.toString(httpEntity); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return xml; } //Get dom element public Document getDomElement(String xml){ Document doc = null; DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); try { DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder(); InputSource is = new InputSource(); is.setCharacterStream(new StringReader(xml)); doc = db.parse(is); } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) { Log.e("Error: ", e.getMessage()); return null; } catch (SAXException e) { Log.e("Error: ", e.getMessage()); return null; } catch (IOException e) { Log.e("Error: ", e.getMessage()); return null; } return doc; } //Get nod element public final String getElementValue(Node elem ) { Node child; if( elem != null){ if (elem.hasChildNodes()){ for( child = elem.getFirstChild(); child != null; child = child.getNextSibling() ){ if( child.getNodeType() == Node.TEXT_NODE ){ return child.getNodeValue(); } } } } return ""; } //Get element value public String getValue(Element item, String str) { NodeList nlList = item.getElementsByTagName(str).item(0).getChildNodes(); Node nValue = (Node) nlList.item(0); return nValue.getNodeValue(); } } Any ideas ? I seriously don't know what is wrong.. I used this before and it worked.

  • Shrinking image by 57% and centering inside css structure

    - by Johua
Hy, i'm really stuck. I'll go step by step and hope to make it short. This is the html structure: <li class="FAVwithimage"> <a href=""> <img src="pics/Joshua.png"> <span class="name">Joshua</span> <span class="comment">Developer</span> <span class="arrow"></span> </a> </li> Before i paste the css classes, some info about the exact goal to accomplish: Resize the picture (img) by 57%. If it cannot be done with css, then jquery/javascript solution. For example: Original pic is 240x240px, i need to resize it by 57%. That means that a pic of 400x400 would be bigger after resizing. After resizing, the picture needs to be centered vertical&horizontal inside a: 68x90 boundaries. So you have an LI element, wich has an A element, and inside A we have IMG, IMG is resized by 57% and centered where the maximum width can be of course 68px and maximum height 90px. No for that to work i was adding a SPAN element arround the IMG. This is what i was thinking: <li class="FAVwithimage"> <a href=""> <span class="picHolder"><img src="pics/Joshua.png"></span> <span class="name">Joshua</span> <span class="comment">Developer</span> <span class="arrow"></span> </a> </li> Then i would give the span element: display:block and w=68px, h=90px. But unforunatelly that didn't work. I know it's a long post but i'v did my best to describe it very simple. Beneath are the css classes and a picture to see what i need. li.FAVwithimage { height: 90px!important; } li.FAVwithimage a, li.FAVwithimage:hover a { height: 81px!important; } That's it what's relevant. I have not included the classes for: name, comment, arrow And now the classes that are incomplete and refer to IMG. li.FAVwithimage a span.picHolder{ /*put the picHolder to the beginning of the LI element*/ position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; width: 68px; height: 90px; diplay:block; border:1px solid #F00; } Border is used just temporary to show the actuall picHolder. It is now on the beginning of LI, width and height is set. li.FAVwithimage span.picHolder img { max-width:68px!important; max-height:90px!important; } This is the class wich should shrink the pic by 57% and center inside picHolder Here I have a drawing describing what i need:

  • Inheritance Mapping Strategies with Entity Framework Code First CTP5: Part 3 – Table per Concrete Type (TPC) and Choosing Strategy Guidelines

    - by mortezam
This is the third (and last) post in a series that explains different approaches to map an inheritance hierarchy with EF Code First. I've described these strategies in previous posts: Part 1 – Table per Hierarchy (TPH) Part 2 – Table per Type (TPT)In today’s blog post I am going to discuss Table per Concrete Type (TPC) which completes the inheritance mapping strategies supported by EF Code First. At the end of this post I will provide some guidelines to choose an inheritance strategy mainly based on what we've learned in this series. TPC and Entity Framework in the Past Table per Concrete type is somehow the simplest approach suggested, yet using TPC with EF is one of those concepts that has not been covered very well so far and I've seen in some resources that it was even discouraged. The reason for that is just because Entity Data Model Designer in VS2010 doesn't support TPC (even though the EF runtime does). That basically means if you are following EF's Database-First or Model-First approaches then configuring TPC requires manually writing XML in the EDMX file which is not considered to be a fun practice. Well, no more. You'll see that with Code First, creating TPC is perfectly possible with fluent API just like other strategies and you don't need to avoid TPC due to the lack of designer support as you would probably do in other EF approaches. Table per Concrete Type (TPC)In Table per Concrete type (aka Table per Concrete class) we use exactly one table for each (nonabstract) class. All properties of a class, including inherited properties, can be mapped to columns of this table, as shown in the following figure: As you can see, the SQL schema is not aware of the inheritance; effectively, we’ve mapped two unrelated tables to a more expressive class structure. If the base class was concrete, then an additional table would be needed to hold instances of that class. I have to emphasize that there is no relationship between the database tables, except for the fact that they share some similar columns. TPC Implementation in Code First Just like the TPT implementation, we need to specify a separate table for each of the subclasses. We also need to tell Code First that we want all of the inherited properties to be mapped as part of this table. In CTP5, there is a new helper method on EntityMappingConfiguration class called MapInheritedProperties that exactly does this for us. Here is the complete object model as well as the fluent API to create a TPC mapping: public abstract class BillingDetail {     public int BillingDetailId { get; set; }     public string Owner { get; set; }     public string Number { get; set; } }          public class BankAccount : BillingDetail {     public string BankName { get; set; }     public string Swift { get; set; } }          public class CreditCard : BillingDetail {     public int CardType { get; set; }     public string ExpiryMonth { get; set; }     public string ExpiryYear { get; set; } }      public class InheritanceMappingContext : DbContext {     public DbSet<BillingDetail> BillingDetails { get; set; }              protected override void OnModelCreating(ModelBuilder modelBuilder)     {         modelBuilder.Entity<BankAccount>().Map(m =>         {             m.MapInheritedProperties();             m.ToTable("BankAccounts");         });         modelBuilder.Entity<CreditCard>().Map(m =>         {             m.MapInheritedProperties();             m.ToTable("CreditCards");         });                 } } The Importance of EntityMappingConfiguration ClassAs a side note, it worth mentioning that EntityMappingConfiguration class turns out to be a key type for inheritance mapping in Code First. Here is an snapshot of this class: namespace System.Data.Entity.ModelConfiguration.Configuration.Mapping {     public class EntityMappingConfiguration<TEntityType> where TEntityType : class     {         public ValueConditionConfiguration Requires(string discriminator);         public void ToTable(string tableName);         public void MapInheritedProperties();     } } As you have seen so far, we used its Requires method to customize TPH. We also used its ToTable method to create a TPT and now we are using its MapInheritedProperties along with ToTable method to create our TPC mapping. TPC Configuration is Not Done Yet!We are not quite done with our TPC configuration and there is more into this story even though the fluent API we saw perfectly created a TPC mapping for us in the database. To see why, let's start working with our object model. For example, the following code creates two new objects of BankAccount and CreditCard types and tries to add them to the database: using (var context = new InheritanceMappingContext()) {     BankAccount bankAccount = new BankAccount();     CreditCard creditCard = new CreditCard() { CardType = 1 };                      context.BillingDetails.Add(bankAccount);     context.BillingDetails.Add(creditCard);     context.SaveChanges(); } Running this code throws an InvalidOperationException with this message: The changes to the database were committed successfully, but an error occurred while updating the object context. The ObjectContext might be in an inconsistent state. Inner exception message: AcceptChanges cannot continue because the object's key values conflict with another object in the ObjectStateManager. Make sure that the key values are unique before calling AcceptChanges. The reason we got this exception is because DbContext.SaveChanges() internally invokes SaveChanges method of its internal ObjectContext. ObjectContext's SaveChanges method on its turn by default calls AcceptAllChanges after it has performed the database modifications. AcceptAllChanges method merely iterates over all entries in ObjectStateManager and invokes AcceptChanges on each of them. Since the entities are in Added state, AcceptChanges method replaces their temporary EntityKey with a regular EntityKey based on the primary key values (i.e. BillingDetailId) that come back from the database and that's where the problem occurs since both the entities have been assigned the same value for their primary key by the database (i.e. on both BillingDetailId = 1) and the problem is that ObjectStateManager cannot track objects of the same type (i.e. BillingDetail) with the same EntityKey value hence it throws. If you take a closer look at the TPC's SQL schema above, you'll see why the database generated the same values for the primary keys: the BillingDetailId column in both BankAccounts and CreditCards table has been marked as identity. How to Solve The Identity Problem in TPC As you saw, using SQL Server’s int identity columns doesn't work very well together with TPC since there will be duplicate entity keys when inserting in subclasses tables with all having the same identity seed. Therefore, to solve this, either a spread seed (where each table has its own initial seed value) will be needed, or a mechanism other than SQL Server’s int identity should be used. Some other RDBMSes have other mechanisms allowing a sequence (identity) to be shared by multiple tables, and something similar can be achieved with GUID keys in SQL Server. While using GUID keys, or int identity keys with different starting seeds will solve the problem but yet another solution would be to completely switch off identity on the primary key property. As a result, we need to take the responsibility of providing unique keys when inserting records to the database. We will go with this solution since it works regardless of which database engine is used. Switching Off Identity in Code First We can switch off identity simply by placing DatabaseGenerated attribute on the primary key property and pass DatabaseGenerationOption.None to its constructor. DatabaseGenerated attribute is a new data annotation which has been added to System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations namespace in CTP5: public abstract class BillingDetail {     [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGenerationOption.None)]     public int BillingDetailId { get; set; }     public string Owner { get; set; }     public string Number { get; set; } } As always, we can achieve the same result by using fluent API, if you prefer that: modelBuilder.Entity<BillingDetail>()             .Property(p => p.BillingDetailId)             .HasDatabaseGenerationOption(DatabaseGenerationOption.None); Working With The Object Model Our TPC mapping is ready and we can try adding new records to the database. But, like I said, now we need to take care of providing unique keys when creating new objects: using (var context = new InheritanceMappingContext()) {     BankAccount bankAccount = new BankAccount()      {          BillingDetailId = 1                          };     CreditCard creditCard = new CreditCard()      {          BillingDetailId = 2,         CardType = 1     };                      context.BillingDetails.Add(bankAccount);     context.BillingDetails.Add(creditCard);     context.SaveChanges(); } Polymorphic Associations with TPC is Problematic The main problem with this approach is that it doesn’t support Polymorphic Associations very well. After all, in the database, associations are represented as foreign key relationships and in TPC, the subclasses are all mapped to different tables so a polymorphic association to their base class (abstract BillingDetail in our example) cannot be represented as a simple foreign key relationship. For example, consider the the domain model we introduced here where User has a polymorphic association with BillingDetail. This would be problematic in our TPC Schema, because if User has a many-to-one relationship with BillingDetail, the Users table would need a single foreign key column, which would have to refer both concrete subclass tables. This isn’t possible with regular foreign key constraints. Schema Evolution with TPC is Complex A further conceptual problem with this mapping strategy is that several different columns, of different tables, share exactly the same semantics. This makes schema evolution more complex. For example, a change to a base class property results in changes to multiple columns. It also makes it much more difficult to implement database integrity constraints that apply to all subclasses. Generated SQLLet's examine SQL output for polymorphic queries in TPC mapping. For example, consider this polymorphic query for all BillingDetails and the resulting SQL statements that being executed in the database: var query = from b in context.BillingDetails select b; Just like the SQL query generated by TPT mapping, the CASE statements that you see in the beginning of the query is merely to ensure columns that are irrelevant for a particular row have NULL values in the returning flattened table. (e.g. BankName for a row that represents a CreditCard type). TPC's SQL Queries are Union Based As you can see in the above screenshot, the first SELECT uses a FROM-clause subquery (which is selected with a red rectangle) to retrieve all instances of BillingDetails from all concrete class tables. The tables are combined with a UNION operator, and a literal (in this case, 0 and 1) is inserted into the intermediate result; (look at the lines highlighted in yellow.) EF reads this to instantiate the correct class given the data from a particular row. A union requires that the queries that are combined, project over the same columns; hence, EF has to pad and fill up nonexistent columns with NULL. This query will really perform well since here we can let the database optimizer find the best execution plan to combine rows from several tables. There is also no Joins involved so it has a better performance than the SQL queries generated by TPT where a Join is required between the base and subclasses tables. Choosing Strategy GuidelinesBefore we get into this discussion, I want to emphasize that there is no one single "best strategy fits all scenarios" exists. As you saw, each of the approaches have their own advantages and drawbacks. Here are some rules of thumb to identify the best strategy in a particular scenario: If you don’t require polymorphic associations or queries, lean toward TPC—in other words, if you never or rarely query for BillingDetails and you have no class that has an association to BillingDetail base class. I recommend TPC (only) for the top level of your class hierarchy, where polymorphism isn’t usually required, and when modification of the base class in the future is unlikely. If you do require polymorphic associations or queries, and subclasses declare relatively few properties (particularly if the main difference between subclasses is in their behavior), lean toward TPH. Your goal is to minimize the number of nullable columns and to convince yourself (and your DBA) that a denormalized schema won’t create problems in the long run. If you do require polymorphic associations or queries, and subclasses declare many properties (subclasses differ mainly by the data they hold), lean toward TPT. Or, depending on the width and depth of your inheritance hierarchy and the possible cost of joins versus unions, use TPC. By default, choose TPH only for simple problems. For more complex cases (or when you’re overruled by a data modeler insisting on the importance of nullability constraints and normalization), you should consider the TPT strategy. But at that point, ask yourself whether it may not be better to remodel inheritance as delegation in the object model (delegation is a way of making composition as powerful for reuse as inheritance). Complex inheritance is often best avoided for all sorts of reasons unrelated to persistence or ORM. EF acts as a buffer between the domain and relational models, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore persistence concerns when designing your classes. SummaryIn this series, we focused on one of the main structural aspect of the object/relational paradigm mismatch which is inheritance and discussed how EF solve this problem as an ORM solution. We learned about the three well-known inheritance mapping strategies and their implementations in EF Code First. Hopefully it gives you a better insight about the mapping of inheritance hierarchies as well as choosing the best strategy for your particular scenario. Happy New Year and Happy Code-Firsting!
