• need help using 2 mfc projects in one solution

  hi, ive created the first project as mfc application and i have tried to enter the solution another project which created as mfc dll. when i running program the gui from the first solution(demodlg) is shows up. and i want that in a prss of a button in the gui the second gui(CAnalyzerDialog) will show up. i've tried a lot of options and i cant get it done right. the last option ive tried is this code : CAnalyzerDialog dlg; dlg.Create(CAnalyzerDialog::IDD); please help. thank you for your time

• problem using keil uvision 3

  I am trying to compile a C code using Keil uvision 3. The entire code gets compiled only if I use large memory model by choosing option xdata for target. To use this model I have to use external data RAM which is not possible for me due to some reasons. So I decided to go with pdata option. Can anybody please help me with the exact steps to be carried out for using pdata? I am using 89V51RD2. I am much confused with the options like BL51 MISC, BL51 Locate etc.

• Stop MSVC++ debug errors from blocking the current process?

  Any failed ASSERT statements on Windows cause the below debug message to appear and freeze the applications execution. I realise this is expected behaviour but it is running periodically on a headless machine so prevent the unit tests from failing, instead waiting on user input indefinitely. Is there s a registry key or compiler flag I can use to prevent this message box from requesting user input whilst still allowing the test to fail under ASSERT? Basically, I want to do this without modifying any code, just changing compiler or Windows options. Thanks!

• Open URL with Safari no matter what system browser is set to

  In my objective-c program, I need to open a URL in Safari no matter what the system's default browser is. That means that this won't work, because it could launch Firefox or whatever other browser: NSWorkspace * ws = [NSWorkspace sharedWorkspace]; [ws openURL: url]; I think I'm close with this: [ws launchAppWithBundleIdentifier: @"com.apple.Safari" options: NSWorkspaceLaunchWithoutActivation additionalEventParamDescriptor: NULL launchIdentifier: nil]; only need to figure out how to pass in the URL as parameter...   Im developing an form in cakePHP where i want to set two forms next to eachother. Im creating it using this code. echo $form-input('timeback', array('options' = array('week',1,2,3,))); This creates a dropdown. Followed by this code: echo $form-end('submit'); This all works well, accept that these two forms should be next to eachother instead of below eachother. Is there a way to make this happen? • Should we develop code on a local machine in a VLAN?

  Because of security reasons, we will not be able to use IIS on our local machines. I'm sure that many of you have faced the same problem, so how did you solve it? Here are the options that we're looking at: Create a VLAN that is isolated from the network for development. This will allow us to use any software, including IIS, that we want. A disadvantage is testing Web services with external organizations, which can be overcome by using stubs. Not use a VLAN and use only the ASP.NET Development Server that comes with Visual Studio, and then deploying that code to the development server. This has the disadvantage of not being able to replicate the production environment during local development. In addition, at least one developer needs IIS for GIS development, so he couldn't develop locally. Thank you for comments or suggestions that you may have!

• Push a detail view in UITableViewCell class

  My class inherit from UITableViewCell, i have make some custom transitions to push a new detail view when an image get selected. [UIView transitionWithView:self.masterView duration:0.5 options:UIViewAnimationOptionShowHideTransitionViews animations:^ { [self.masterView addSubview:self.detailImage]; } completion:nil]; My code works fine, the detailImage subview is shown with a transition, but this transition is not what i want exactly. What i want to perform is a simple transition from bottom to up. The list of UIViewAnimation doesn't contain such animation. Is there any way to use that transition without changing my class inheritance to UINavigationController ?

• How can I search for the dot character using the search command?

  I'm trying to use the Search command in Vim: :Rs/F/T/X R = range F = text to find T = text to replace with X = options But, when I want to search for the "." (dot character) I'm getting some problems. The task: Replace all occurences of " ." (space dot) for "" (greater-than) So, first I tried this: :%s/ ./>/g But this changed me all the " ." (space ANY-CHARACTER) to the "" character. Then I remembered that the dot character is a special one, so I tried this: :%s/ \./>/g But vim threw me an error: E486 Can't find pattern " \." And finally I tried this crazy thing: :%s/" ."/>/g and this :%s/" \."/>/g But I got the same result: E486 Can't find pattern... So, how can I search for the dot character using the search command? PS: Sorry for my poor Enlish.

• log file not generated while accessing a jar having log4j support.

  I have a x.jar which is being used by some client y.jar. Both x.jar and y.jar are at the same package level. i have put the log4j.xml at the same package level. But the log file is never generated. Can i know why? I have tried few other options as well but no luck till now. i have added log4j-1.2.16.jar to ClassPath: variable in manifest files of both x.jar and y.jar. Put log4j.xml at the class level of y.jar which actually calls the x.jar classes. package structure is as follows: x.jar --manifest.mf has a entry ClassPath:log4j-1.2.16.jar y.jar --manifest.mf has a entry ClassPath:log4j-1.2.16.jar log4j-1.2.16.jar log4j.xml --has a RollingFileAppender. Can any one suggest whether i am missing anything?

• In Visual Studio 2010, intellisense isn't showing for long method signatures

  The problem is exactly as asked in the question title. When I'm typing in the text editor and referencing a public method that has a long signature (lots of parameters, usually 10 or more) the intellisense just stops working. It will sometimes flicker; other times it will not show at all. Only seen this happen with C#, but I don't use anything else. It might happen in VB too. Don't know. Anyone else seeing this? I've Googled for an hour but can't seem to iron it out. I've restarted VS, rebooted the machine, enabled/disabled intellisense in Tools - Options. NOTHING works.

• Statistics help on 3 choices

  I'm working on an Android app where, at one point, the user is asked to input whether something helped. Their options are 'Yes', 'No' and 'Don't Know'; or they could choose to ignore it. This is for multiple 'somethings' over a date range. A summary view for a date range shows the percentage of 'Yes', 'No' and 'Don't Know' entered for each 'something'. I'm also showing the 'Overall Effectiveness' as the percentage of 'Yes' inputs, which I realise is incorrect. I am thinking of changing that to 'Yes' minus 'No', but that doesn't address the 'Don't Know' inputs. How would I handle the data so that 'Overall Effectiveness' represents all 3 data inputs? So, for a 'something' which has a 'Yes' of 25%, a 'No' of 25% and a 'Don't Know' of 50%, would that be an 'Overall Effectiveness' of 0% ? Or would the 'Don't Know' affect that figure at all? As an additional to that, what graph type, other that Pie, would best display all 3 data?

• Description format for an embedded structure

  Hi, I have a C structure that allow users to configure options in an embedded system. Currently the GUI we use for this is custom written for every different version of this configuration structure. What I'd like for is to be able to describe the structure members in some format that can be read by the client configuration application, making it universal across all of our systems. I've experimented with describing the structure in XML and having the client read the file; this works in most cases except those where some of the fields have inter-dependencies. So the format that I use needs to have a way to specify these; for instance, member A must always be less than or equal to half of member B. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

  I've installed JCL into Delphi 2010. In the following code try raise Exception.Create('Error Message'); except on E: Exception do begin ResultStatus := JclLastExceptStackListToStrings(sl, True, True, True, True); end; end; Also I have this call in the initialization section: initialization JclStartExceptionTracking; ResultStatus is false and sl is empty. I have set options to generate map and .jdbg files. Other functions, like ProcByLevel work fine. Is there something else I need to do to make JclLastExceptStackListToStrings work? The central issue is that we don't know what we don't know and don't know how to best weigh our different options. At the moment, we're evaluating Flex, ExtJS, and Vaadin. • Checking if cookies are enabled doesn't work in IE8

  Hi, I'm trying to create a script that would determine if cookies are enabled and do some work if not. This is the code I use: var cookieEnabled = (window.navigator.cookieEnabled) ? true : false; if (typeof navigator.cookieEnabled == "undefined" && !cookieEnabled) { document.cookie = "testcookie" cookieEnabled = (document.cookie.indexOf("testcookie") != -1) ? true : false } if (cookieEnabled == false) { // do some work } The problem is that in IE8 it causes nothing to happen when I set cookies to be blocked in browser options. So, navigator.cookieEnabled is always true. This stuff works perfectly in Chrome and FireFox. Am I doing anything wrong?

  Let L= { w in (0+1)* | w has even number of 1s}, i.e. L is the set of all bit strings with even number of 1s. Which one of the regular expressions below represents L? A) (0*10*1)* B) 0*(10*10*)* C) 0*(10*1)* 0* D) 0*1(10*1)* 10* According to me option D is never correct because it does not represent the bit string with zero 1s. But what about the other options? We are concerned about the number of 1s(even or not) not the number of zeros doesn't matter. Then which is the correct option and why?

• Looking to redo a static website

  I have been asked to help redo my non-profit website. I would like to make it look better. What would be the best way to do this? I have some technical background and can learn. I have looked at various options such as Joomla, word press and so on but I am not certain on how to create a good UI for it. I have also looked at Ruby and such, which I think may be overkill for a static page such as this. I haven't done any programming etc in a few years, but I figure this may be an opportunity to get back into it.

• Enter a letter when prompted by another command

  Hi all, I'm trying to automate the installation and deployement of an application. To do it, i have a shell script with the following instructions: /usr/local/bin/amf install -u $1 -p $2 $localTarget where $1, $2 and $localTarget are options for the command named 'amf'. The problem is that the 'amf' command make severall instructions and ask the user to enter a letter during those instructions (to confirm the installation). At the moment, i can't bypass or modify the behaviour of the 'amf' command, so my question is: How can i catch this behaviour and/or automatically enter a letter in my script. This behaviour currently make my script not working, because the 'amf instal...' instruction is followed by another command to start my application.   So i created a web site a long time ago using a designer alot like frontpage + expression design put together, and since then Ive gotten more into coding, and I'm learning html, CSS, and all that good stuff.. and i have this re-designed header that Ive made here: http://prntscr.com/8zct So what I need to know, is how i can get it so that when a user clicks on one of the links in the header design it will redirect to a page. and also if possible, how to make it so when a user hovers over a link a drop down may appear with other options. As me being quite new to this sort of stuff, could anybody help me achieve this? PS. I'm working in Visual Studio with ASP. but that doesn't change anything about the html and css stuff. just letting you guys know.

• unittest in python: ignore an import from the code I want to test

  I have a python program that imports pythoncom (and uses pythoncom.CoCreateInstance from it). I want to create a unittest for the program logic without it importing pythoncom (so I can run the test on Linux as well). What options are there? Can I do it without modifying the system under test? What I found so far: sys.modules["pythoncom"] = "test" import module_that_imports_pythoncom My problem with it is if I have: from pythoncom.something import something I'll get: ImportError: No module named something.something And sys.modules["something.something"] or sys.modules["pythoncom.something.something"] doesn't work. Any ideas?

• jQuery autocomplete that retrieves items from a database

• What GC parameters is a JVM running with?

  I'm still investigating issues I have with GC tuning (see prior question), which involves lots of reading and experimentation. Sun Java5+ JVMs attempt to automatically select the optimal GC strategy and parameters based on their environment, which is great, but I can't figure out how to query the running JVM to find out what those parameters are. Ideally, I'd like to see what values of the various GC-related -XX options are being used, as selected automatically by the VM. If I had that, I could have a baseline to begin tweaking. Anyone know to recover these values from a running VM?

• Java swing doesn't show changes to source

  I'm using Java Swing graphical editor with netbeans to make my project...but using it brings some limitations like I can't add to a jpanel an image,using java swing options. So i'll need to code it, implementing a new jPanel. My problem is that the code generated by the java swing graphical editor can't be edited so instead of adding the new JPanel code in the initComponents() section I'm doing it after this function is called in the constructor of my main JPanel. But any code I add is not recognized by the "Designer" which means that after making my coded objects I can't use them in the "Designer" and everything must be coded, which is a pain considering how much easier is previewing and moving elements in the "Designer" tool. How can I code what I want but steel appear in the "DEsigner"? Thx in advance
