  • JNI - GetObjectField returns NULL

    - by Daniel
I'm currently working on Mangler's Android implementation. I have a java class that looks like so: public class VentriloEventData { public short type; public class _pcm { public int length; public short send_type; public int rate; public byte channels; }; _pcm pcm; } The signature for my pcm object: $ javap -s -p VentriloEventData ... org.mangler.VentriloEventData$_pcm pcm; Signature: Lorg/mangler/VentriloEventData$_pcm; I am implementing a native JNI function called getevent, which will write to the fields in an instance of the VentriloEventData class. For what it's worth, it's defined and called in Java like so: public static native int getevent(VentriloEventData data); VentriloEventData data = new VentriloEventData(); getevent(data); And my JNI implementation of getevent: JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL Java_org_mangler_VentriloInterface_getevent(JNIEnv* env, jobject obj, jobject eventdata) { v3_event *ev = v3_get_event(V3_BLOCK); if(ev != NULL) { jclass event_class = (*env)->GetObjectClass(env, eventdata); // Event type. jfieldID type_field = (*env)->GetFieldID(env, event_class, "type", "S"); (*env)->SetShortField( env, eventdata, type_field, 1234 ); // Get PCM class. jfieldID pcm_field = (*env)->GetFieldID(env, event_class, "pcm", "Lorg/mangler/VentriloEventData$_pcm;"); jobject pcm = (*env)->GetObjectField( env, eventdata, pcm_field ); jclass pcm_class = (*env)->GetObjectClass(env, pcm); // Set PCM fields. jfieldID pcm_length_field = (*env)->GetFieldID(env, pcm_class, "length", "I"); (*env)->SetIntField( env, pcm, pcm_length_field, 1337 ); free(ev); } return 0; } The code above works fine for writing into the type field (that is not wrapped by the _pcm class). Once getevent is called, data.type is verified to be 1234 at the java side :) My problem is that the assertion "pcm != NULL" will fail. Note that pcm_field != NULL, which probably indicates that the signature to that field is correct... so there must be something wrong with my call to GetObjectField. It looks fine though if I compare it to the official JNI docs. Been bashing my head on this problem for the past 2 hours and I'm getting a little desperate.. hoping a different perspective will help me out on this one.

  • Run JavaScript after a DropDownList is DataBound

    - by Daniel Coffman
I need to trigger a JavaScript function to be called AFTER a DropDownList on my ASP.NET WebForms page is DataBound, because the SelectedIndex of this DropDownList is the parameter to the JavaScript function. I've tried this various ways, but it seems that if I do it with pure JavaScript onload by using ClientScript.RegisterStartUpScript, the control can be found (because it hasn't been assigned a clientID yet?). If I use jQuery (document).ready { } it says that the DropDownList has no selectedIndex.value. So I need some JavaScript to run AFTER the control has a value set by the DataBind. How can I accomplish this? onChanged won't work because I need the function to fire on the first page load, with no user input. DataBinding the SelectedIndex of the DropDownList doesn't cause the JavaScript onChanged event to fire.

  • Modify strings in Rails?

    - by Daniel O'Connor
Hey everyone, So I'm new to Rails (teaching myself as a senior project in high school), and I'm trying to figure out how to modify these strings. Let's say someone writes the following string in a form: "you know you are a geek when" How can I automatically change it to this: "You know you are a geek when..."? I need Rails to check the case of the first letter and check for the three dots then modify the string as necessary. I've looked here, but I can't find anything that would work. Thanks a lot!

  • ASP.NET DropDownList posting ""

    - by Daniel
I am using ASP.NET forms version 3.5 in VB I have a dropdownlist that is filled with data from a DB with a list of countries The code for the dropdown list is <label class="ob_label"> <asp:DropDownList ID="lstCountry" runat="server" CssClass="ob_forminput"> </asp:DropDownList> Country*</label> And the code that the list is Dim selectSQL As String = "exec dbo.*******************" ' Define the ADO.NET objects. Dim con As New SqlConnection(connectionString) Dim cmd As New SqlCommand(selectSQL, con) Dim reader As SqlDataReader ' Try to open database and read information. Try con.Open() reader = cmd.ExecuteReader() ' For each item, add the author name to the displayed ' list box text, and store the unique ID in the Value property. Do While reader.Read() Dim newItem As New ListItem() newItem.Text = reader("AllSites_Countries_Name") newItem.Value = reader("AllSites_Countries_Id") CType(LoginViewCart.FindControl("lstCountry"), DropDownList).Items.Add(newItem) Loop reader.Close() CType(LoginViewCart.FindControl("lstCountry"), DropDownList).SelectedValue = 182 Catch Err As Exception Response.Redirect("~/error-on-page/") MailSender.SendMailMessage("*********************", "", "", OrangeBoxSiteId.SiteName & " Error Catcher", "<p>Error in sub FillCountry</p><p>Error on page:" & HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.AbsoluteUri & "</p><p>Error details: " & Err.Message & "</p>") Response.Redirect("~/error-on-page/") Finally con.Close() End Try When the form is submitted an error occurs which says that the string "" cannot be converted to the datatype integer. For some reason the dropdownlist is posting "" rather than the value for the selected country.

  • Disk-based caching of dynamic images in IIS 7

    - by Daniel Schierbeck
I'm writing an image server which needs to handle a relatively large number of concurrent requests (~5,000). The images being served are dynamically scaled down and cropped based on per-image specifications, which are queried from a database. The number of images is rather large, so an in-memory cache isn't viable (thrashing would most definitely occur). I'm using native caching in IIS 7 to avoid hitting the ASP.NET app which generates the images on-the-fly. I've looked around, but I couldn't find a simple way to configure IIS to store the cache on-disk -- is there such an option, or would I need to roll my own? I'd rather avoid placing the generated images in a public folder, so they can be served statically, since I would prefer to invalidate the cache entries using a query parameter (last-edit time from the database,) which doesn't seem possible to reconcile with static caching. I would love to get some feedback on this!

  • Can you decode a mutable Bitmap from an InputStream?

    - by Daniel Lew
Right now I've got an Android application that: Downloads an image. Does some pre-processing to that image. Displays the image. The dilemma is that I would like this process to use less memory, so that I can afford to download a higher-resolution image. However, when I download the image now, I use BitmapFactory.decodeStream(), which has the unfortunate side effect of returning an immutable Bitmap. As a result, I'm having to create a copy of the Bitmap before I can start operating on it, which means I have to have 2x the size of the Bitmap's memory allocated (at least for a brief period of time; once the copy is complete I can recycle the original). Is there a way to decode an InputStream into a mutable Bitmap?

  • Batch Image compression tool for optimizing thousands of images

    - by Daniel Magliola
Hi all, I'm maintaining a site that has thousands of images that have not been compressed nearly enough. The homepage weighs in at 1.5 Mb currently, and it could easily be way less that half that. I'm looking for some kind of tool that'll take a folder full of JPG pictures and will recompress them to their "optimal" compression value. Obviously, "optimal lossy compression setting" is an oxymoron, but I'm thinking maybe a tool that'll try different levels and compare the outputs to the input, and choose a "sweet spot" between size and destruction? Or even try whether PNG is a better option, many times it is, for "drawing" type stuff. Does anyone of you know any such tool? I'd have lots of fun coding one, but I bet someone already did and will save me 2 days. Alternatively, of course, anything that'll take all pictures in a folder and recompress them with a fixed quality level (say, 40) will also work, it'll just not make my inner nerd as happy, but it'll solve my problem just fine. (Ideally something that can run on Windows, ideally from the command line) Thank you!

  • iPhone View Switching basics.

    - by Daniel Granger
    I am just trying to get my head around simple view switching for the iPhone and have created a simple app to try and help me understand it. I have included the code from my root controller used to switch the views. My app has a single toolbar with three buttons on it each linking to one view. Here is my code to do this but I think there most be a more efficient way to achieve this? Is there a way to find out / remove the current displayed view instead of having to do the if statements to see if either has a superclass? I know I could use a tab bar to create a similar effect but I am just using this method to help me practice a few of the techniques. -(IBAction)switchToDataInput:(id)sender{ if (self.dataInputVC.view.superview == nil) { if (dataInputVC == nil) { dataInputVC = [[DataInputViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"DataInput" bundle:nil]; } if (self.UIElementsVC.view.superview != nil) { [UIElementsVC.view removeFromSuperview]; } else if (self.totalsVC.view.superview != nil) { [totalsVC.view removeFromSuperview]; } [self.view insertSubview:dataInputVC.view atIndex:0]; } } -(IBAction)switchToUIElements:(id)sender{ if (self.UIElementsVC.view.superview == nil) { if (UIElementsVC == nil) { UIElementsVC = [[UIElementsViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"UIElements" bundle:nil]; } if (self.dataInputVC.view.superview != nil) { [dataInputVC.view removeFromSuperview]; } else if (self.totalsVC.view.superview != nil) { [totalsVC.view removeFromSuperview]; } [self.view insertSubview:UIElementsVC.view atIndex:0]; } } -(IBAction)switchToTotals:(id)sender{ if (self.totalsVC.view.superview == nil) { if (totalsVC == nil) { totalsVC = [[TotalsViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"Totals" bundle:nil]; } if (self.dataInputVC.view.superview != nil) { [dataInputVC.view removeFromSuperview]; } else if (self.UIElementsVC.view.superview != nil) { [UIElementsVC.view removeFromSuperview]; } [self.view insertSubview:totalsVC.view atIndex:0]; } }

  • jwplayer embedded with recent flash with html5 back end cant hide controls or add autoplay and loop

    - by Daniel Redwood
Hey all, After the unfortunate realization that Firefox is just not going to play nice with an embedded HTML5 video with my server set up, I've decided to go the JW Player route, since it's compatible with iPads and iPhones. I can get the file to show up on my page, but it's big and heavy. I would like for it to be just the video, no controls. Autoplay and on loop. Can you help me out? Here's the code... <div id="container">Loading the player ...</div> jwplayer("container").setup({ flashplayer: "jwplayer/player.swf", file: "Video/fernando.m4v", height: 520, width: 780, }); <script type='text/javascript' src='swfobject.js'></script>

  • Print out PDF with javascript [closed]

    - by Daniel Abrahamsson
I have a need to print out multiple PDFs with the help of javascript. Is this even possible without rendering each PDF in a separate window and calling window.print()? Basically, I would like to be able to do something like print('my_pdf_url'). Edit After some searching, I have come to the conclusion that there are no other methods than the one I've described above. It is a far from perfect solution, but it works in simple cases. Edit I ended up merging the PDFs to a monster PDF on the server side and then send this single PDF to the user, who can then choose to print it out.

  • Scaling an Image in GWT

    - by Daniel
Changing the size of an Image Widget in GWT changes the size of the image element, but does not rescale the image on the screen. Therefore, the following will not work: Image image = new Image(myImageResource); image.setHeight(newHeight); image.setWidth(newWidth); image.setPixelSize(newWidth, newHeight); This is because GWT implements its Image widget by setting the background-image of the HTML <img... /> element as the image, using CSS. How does one get the actual image to resize?

  • Why my application ask for a codec to pla the MVI(.MOV) video files while i can play them on WMP and QuickTime?

    - by Daniel Lip
I have an application i did some time ago when im loading the video file its ok when trying to play/use the file im getting the messageBox message say that its need a codec to use gspot or search the internet. Wehn im playing this files on my hard disk with Windows Media Play or either QuickTime there is no problems. The Video files for example name are: MVI_2483 in the file name properties i see its type: Quick Time Movie (.MOV) In my application im using DirectShowLib-2005.dll this is the class im using in my case to extract the video file im using it in my application to extract only lightnings from the video file name. In Form1 i have a button click event that just starting the action: private void button8_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { viewToolStripMenuItem.Enabled = false; fileToolStripMenuItem.Enabled = false; button2.Enabled = false; label14.Visible = false; label15.Visible = false; label21.Visible = false; label22.Visible = false; label24.Visible = false; label25.Visible = false; ExtractAutomatic = true; DirectoryInfo info = new DirectoryInfo(_videoFile); string dirName = info.Name; automaticModeDirectory = dirName + "_Automatic"; subDirectoryName = _outputDir + "\\" + automaticModeDirectory; if (secondPass == true) { Start(true); } Start(false); } This is the function start in Form1: private void Start(bool secondpass) { setpicture(-1); if (Directory.Exists(_outputDir) && secondpass == false) { } else { Directory.CreateDirectory(_outputDir); } if (ExtractAutomatic == true) { string subDirectory_Automatic_Name = _outputDir + "\\" + automaticModeDirectory; Directory.CreateDirectory(subDirectory_Automatic_Name); f = new WmvAdapter(_videoFile, Path.Combine(subDirectory_Automatic_Name)); } else { string subDirectory_Manual_Name; if (Directory.Exists(subDirectoryName)) { subDirectory_Manual_Name = subDirectoryName; f = new WmvAdapter(_videoFile, Path.Combine(subDirectory_Manual_Name)); } else { subDirectory_Manual_Name = _outputDir + "\\" + averagesListTextFileDirectory + "_Manual"; Directory.CreateDirectory(subDirectory_Manual_Name); f = new WmvAdapter(_videoFile, Path.Combine(subDirectory_Manual_Name)); } } button1.Enabled = false; f.Secondpass = secondpass; f.FramesToSave = _fts; f.FrameCountAvailable += new WmvAdapter.FrameCountEventHandler(f_FrameCountAvailable); f.StatusChanged += new WmvAdapter.EventHandler(f_StatusChanged); f.ProgressChanged += new WmvAdapter.ProgressEventHandler(f_ProgressChanged); this.Text = "Processing Please Wait..."; label5.ForeColor = Color.Green; label5.Text = "Processing Please Wait"; button8.Enabled = false; button5.Enabled = false; label5.Visible = true; pictureBox1.Image = Lightnings_Extractor.Properties.Resources.Weather_Michmoret; Hrs = 0; //number of hours Min = 0; //number of Minutes Sec = 0; //number of Sec timeElapsed = 0; label10.Text = "00:00:00"; label11.Visible = false; label12.Visible = false; label9.Visible = false; label8.Visible = false; this.button1.Enabled = false; myTrackPanelss1.trackBar1.Enabled = false; this.checkBox2.Enabled = false; this.checkBox1.Enabled = false; numericUpDown1.Enabled = false; timer1.Start(); label2.Text = ""; label1.Visible = true; label2.Visible = true; label3.Visible = true; label4.Visible = true; f.Start(); } And this is the class wich is not my oqn class i just just defined it in some places wich making the problem: using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Drawing; using System.Drawing.Imaging; using System.IO; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using DirectShowLib; using System.Collections.Generic; using Extracting_Frames; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace Polkan.DataSource { internal class WmvAdapter : ISampleGrabberCB, IDisposable { #region Fields_Properties_and_Events bool dis = false; int count = 0; const string fileName = @"d:\histogramValues.dat"; private IFilterGraph2 _filterGraph; private IMediaControl _mediaCtrl; private IMediaEvent _mediaEvent; private int _width; private int _height; private readonly string _outFolder; private int _frameId; //better use a custom EventHandler that passes the results of the action to the subscriber. public delegate void EventHandler(object sender, EventArgs e); public event EventHandler StatusChanged; public delegate void FrameCountEventHandler(object sender, FrameCountEventArgs e); public event FrameCountEventHandler FrameCountAvailable; public delegate void ProgressEventHandler(object sender, ProgressEventArgs e); public event ProgressEventHandler ProgressChanged; private IMediaSeeking _mSeek; private long _duration = 0; private long _avgFrameTime = 0; //just save the averages to a List (not to fs) public List<double> AveragesList { get; set; } public List<long> histogramValuesList; public bool Secondpass { get; set; } public List<int> FramesToSave { get; set; } #endregion #region Constructors and Destructors public WmvAdapter(string file, string outFolder) { _outFolder = outFolder; try { SetupGraph(file); } catch { Dispose(); MessageBox.Show("A codec is required to load this video file. • DirectShow EVR resizing window problem

    - by Daniel
So I've been looking into the world of media playback for windows and I've started making a C# Media Player using DirectShow. I started off using the VRM-7 windowed video renderer and it was brilliant except it had a couple of small problems (multi monitors, fullscreen). But after some research I found that it's deprecated and I should be using VRM9. So I changed it to use VRM9 windowless then found out that was an old post rofl _< so finally I'm using Vista/Win7 (or XP .net 3) Enhanced Video Renderer (EVR) which is apparently the most up to date Microsoft video renderer and has all the flashy performance/quality things added to it. (tbh I haven't noticed any difference but maybe I need a blue-ray or HQ video to notice it). With using EVR everything is working fine except resizing the video. Its really laggy/choppy/teary and probably something to do with its frame queueing mechanism. To demonstrate my problem open up windows media player classic. View - Options - Playback - output Chose the "EVR" DirectShow Video renderer Now restart wmp class and play a video, while it's playing click and drag a corner to resize it. You'll notice its horribly laggy. This is the exact same problem i am having. But if you chose "EVR Custom Pres. *" or EVR Sync *" resizing works beautifully! So i tried googling around for anything about EVR resizing issues and how to fix it but i couldn't believe how little i could find. I'm guessing "Custom Pres." stands for "Custom Presenter" which sounds like they made their own. Also you'll notice on the right hand size when you swap between EVR and the other EVR's the Resizer drop down on the right greys out. So basically I wan't to know how I can fix this retarded resizing problem and is there any decent documentation out there? There is a fair bit for VMR7/9 but not much for EVR. I downloaded the DirectX SDK which apparently has samples but it was a waste of 500mb of bandwidth as it had nothing relevant. Perhaps there is some way to force it not queueing up frames if that is the problem? If you want code say the word and I'll paste some in. But it's really quite simple and nothing much happens, i'm convinced it's a problem with the EVR renderer. EDIT: Oh and one other thing, what does VLC use? If you go into vlc options and change the renderer to anything but default, they all suck. So is it using VMR7? Or its own?

  • Windows repair console, impossible?

    - by Daniel
I found an old Windows XP SP2 in my -trash- cd can and tried it on a 30 GB FAT32 partition. Installation went fine till the copying operation was completed and XP asked for reboot. After that either it starts over again or throws invalid disk. Starting over is an infinite loop the only way I see is to choose the "Repair console" but I'm not used to a DOS box. Can anyone help me through this harmful installation?

  • YQL and FLickr query not understood in the console

    - by Daniel Hertz
Hello, So I am trying to use YQL to access the flickr api but I have been having some issues. From reading the YQL info, it seemed like I could use any flickr query in YQL but for some reason I cannot use flickr.people.getPublicPhotos call to access all pictures from a certain person. When I try any such query it isn't recognized. Is this possible? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

  • Same route nested in multiple resources ember.js

    - by Daniel Upton
I'm building an ember.js app which has a model called "Programme". A user can drill down to a programme by going: Genre > Subgenre > Programme or Folder > List > Programme Here's my router: this.resource('mylists', { path: '/' }, function() { this.resource('folder', { path: '/folder/:folder_id' }, function() { this.resource('list', { path: '/list/:list_id' }, function() { this.resource('programme', { path: '/programme/:programme_id' }); }); }); }); this.resource('catalogue', function() { this.resource('genre', { path: '/genre/:genre_id' }, function() { this.resource('subgenre', { path: '/subgenre/:subgenre_id' }, function() { this.resource('programme', { path: '/programme/:programme_id' }); }); }); }); The UI needs to be deeply nested (the genre view renders in the outlet of the catalogue template, the subgenre in the outlet of the genre template... and so forth). The problem I have is as both generated routes are called ProgrammeRoute when I linkTo the programme route inside the list template, it actually goes to the programme route nested in the subgenre route. What should I be doing here? To work around it I've named one route ListProgrammeRoute and SubgenreProgrammeRoute but that leads to some duplication.

  • How to perform a binary search on IList<T>?

    - by Daniel Brückner
Simple question - given an IList<T> how do you perform a binary search without writing the method yourself and without copying the data to a type with build-in binary search support. My current status is the following. List<T>.BinarySearch() is not a member of IList<T> There is no equivalent of the ArrayList.Adapter() method for List<T> IList<T> does not inherit from IList, hence using ArrayList.Adapter() is not possible I tend to believe that is not possible with build-in methods, but I cannot believe that such a basic method is missing from the BCL/FCL. If it is not possible, who can give the shortest, fastest, smartest, or most beatiful binary search implementation for IList<T>? UPDATE We all know that a list must be sorted before using binary search, hence you can assume that it is. But I assume (but did not verify) it is the same problem with sort - how do you sort IList<T>? CONCLUSION There seems to be no build-in binary search for IList<T>. One can use First() and OrderBy() LINQ methods to search and sort, but it will likly have a performance hit. Implementing it yourself (as an extension method) seems the best you can do.

  • How stable are Cisco IOS OIDs for querying data with SNMP across different model devices?

    - by Daniel Papasian
I'm querying a bunch of information from cisco switches using SNMP. For instance, I'm pulling information on neighbors detected using CDP by doing an snmpwalk on .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.23 Can I use this OID across different cisco models? What pitfalls should I be aware of? To me, I'm a little uneasy about using numeric OIDs - it seems like I should be using a MIB database or something and using the named OIDs, in order to gain cross-device compatibility, but perhaps I'm just imagining the need for that.
