  • @OneToMany and composite primary keys?

    - by Kris Pruden
Hi, I'm using Hibernate with annotations (in spring), and I have an object which has an ordered, many-to-one relationship which a child object which has a composite primary key, one component of which is a foreign key back to the id of the parent object. The structure looks something like this: +=============+ +================+ | ParentObj | | ObjectChild | +-------------+ 1 0..* +----------------+ | id (pk) |-----------------| parentId | | ... | | name | +=============+ | pos | | ... | +================+ I've tried a variety of combinations of annotations, none of which seem to work. This is the closest I've been able to come up with: @Entity public class ParentObject { @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String id; @OneToMany(mappedBy="object", fetch=FetchType.EAGER) @IndexColumn(name = "pos", base=0) private List<ObjectChild> attrs; ... } @Entity public class ChildObject { @Embeddable public static class Pk implements Serializable { @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String objectId; @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private String name; @Column(nullable=false, updatable=false) private int pos; ... } @EmbeddedId private Pk pk; @ManyToOne @JoinColumn(name="parentId") private ParentObject parent; ... } I arrived at this after a long bout of experimentation in which most of my other attempts yielded entities which hibernate couldn't even load for various reasons. The error I get when I try to read one of these objects (they seem to save OK), I get an error of this form: org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not initialize a collection: ... And the root cause is this: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Unknown column 'attrs0_.id' in 'field list' I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but the documentation is not clear on this matter, and I haven't been able to find any examples of this anywhere else. Thanks!

  • Domain Keys, DKIM and Sendmail

    - by Daniel
    When I am using DomainKeys and DKIM together on a linux system, do I run both of them on the same port? DomainKeys: /usr/bin/dk-filter -l -p inet:8891@localhost -d example.com -s /var/db/ domainkeys/default.key.pem -S default DKIM: /usr/bin/dkim-filter -l -p inet:8891@localhost -c simple -d example.com -k /var/db/dkim/mail.key.pem -s mail -S rsa-sha256 -u dkim -m MSA Or do I do something like this: DomainKeys: /usr/bin/dk-filter -l -p inet:8892@localhost -d example.com -s /var/db/ domainkeys/mail1.key.pem -S default DKIM: /usr/bin/dkim-filter -l -p inet:8891@localhost -c simple -d example.com -k /var/db/dkim/mail2.key.pem -s mail -S rsa-sha256 -u dkim -m MSA Just wondering since information about DomainKeys and DKIM tell you to run them on the same port: http://www.elandsys.com/resources/sendmail/domainkeys.html http://www.elandsys.com/resources/sendmail/dkim.html I want to run both of them together, is this a bad idea?

  • Invalidating Memcached Keys on save() in Django

    - by Zack
I've got a view in Django that uses memcached to cache data for the more highly trafficked views that rely on a relatively static set of data. The key word is relatively: I need invalidate the memcached key for that particular URL's data when it's changed in the database. To be as clear as possible, here's the meat an' potatoes of the view (Person is a model, cache is django.core.cache.cache): def person_detail(request, slug): if request.is_ajax(): cache_key = "%s_ABOUT_%s" % settings.SITE_PREFIX, slug # Check the cache to see if we've already got this result made. json_dict = cache.get(cache_key) # Was it a cache hit? if json_dict is None: # That's a negative Ghost Rider person = get_object_or_404(Person, display = True, slug = slug) json_dict = { 'name' : person.name, 'bio' : person.bio_html, 'image' : person.image.extra_thumbnails['large'].absolute_url, } cache.set(cache_key) # json_dict will now exist, whether it's from the cache or not response = HttpResponse() response['Content-Type'] = 'text/javascript' response.write(simpljson.dumps(json_dict)) # Make sure it's all properly formatted for JS by using simplejson return response else: # This is where the fully templated response is generated What I want to do is get at that cache_key variable in it's "unformatted" form, but I'm not sure how to do this--if it can be done at all. Just in case there's already something to do this, here's what I want to do with it (this is from the Person model's hypothetical save method) def save(self): # If this is an update, the key will be cached, otherwise it won't, let's see if we can't find me try: old_self = Person.objects.get(pk=self.id) cache_key = # Voodoo magic to get that variable old_key = cache_key.format(settings.SITE_PREFIX, old_self.slug) # Generate the key currently cached cache.delete(old_key) # Hit it with both barrels of rock salt # Turns out this doesn't already exist, let's make that first request even faster by making this cache right now except DoesNotExist: # I haven't gotten to this yet. super(Person, self).save() I'm thinking about making a view class for this sorta stuff, and having functions in it like remove_cache or generate_cache since I do this sorta stuff a lot. Would that be a better idea? If so, how would I call the views in the URLconf if they're in a class?

  • SQL to retrieve the latest records, grouping by unique foreign keys

    - by jbox
I'm creating query to retrieve the latest posts in a forum using a SQL DB. I've got a table called "Post". Each post has a foreign key relation to a "Thread" and a "User" as well as a creation date. The trick is I don't want to show two posts by the same user or two posts in the same thread. Is it possible to create a query that contains all this logic? # Grab the last 10 posts. SELECT id, user_id, thread_id FROM posts ORDER BY created_at DESC LIMIT 10; # Grab the last 10 posts, max one post per user SELECT id, user_id, thread_id FROM post GROUP BY user_id ORDER BY date DESC LIMIT 10; # Grab the last 10 posts, max one post per user, max one post per thread???

  • Using Spring's KeyHolder with programmatically-generated primary keys

    - by smayers81
Hello, I am using Spring's NamedParameterJdbcTemplate to perform an insert into a table. The table uses a NEXTVAL on a sequence to obtain the primary key. I then want this generated ID to be passed back to me. I am using Spring's KeyHolder implementation like this: KeyHolder key = new GeneratedKeyHolder(); jdbcTemplate.update(Constants.INSERT_ORDER_STATEMENT, params, key); However, when I run this statement, I am getting: org.springframework.dao.DataRetrievalFailureException: The generated key is not of a supported numeric type. Unable to cast [oracle.sql.ROWID] to [java.lang.Number] at org.springframework.jdbc.support.GeneratedKeyHolder.getKey(GeneratedKeyHolder.java:73) Any ideas what I am missing?

  • Spring - How do you set Enum keys in a Map with annotations

    - by al nik
Hi all, I've an Enum class public enum MyEnum{ ABC; } than my 'Mick' class has this property private Map<MyEnum, OtherObj> myMap; I've this spring xml configuration. <util:map id="myMap"> <entry key="ABC" value-ref="myObj" /> </util:map> <bean id="mick" class="com.x.Mick"> <property name="myMap" ref="myMap" /> </bean> and this is fine. I'd like to replace this xml configuration with Spring annotations. Do you have any idea on how to autowire the map? The problem here is that if I switch from xml config to the @Autowired annotation (on the myMap attribute of the Mick class) Spring is throwing this exception nested exception is org.springframework.beans.FatalBeanException: Key type [class com.MyEnum] of map [java.util.Map] must be assignable to [java.lang.String] Spring is no more able to recognize the string ABC as a MyEnum.ABC object. Any idea? Thanks

  • Multiple foreign keys to same table using Elixir

    - by Suvir
Hello, I am new to ORMs in general. I have a table (lets call it Entity) with columns -- ID expression type ( can be 'long_word', 'short_word' or 'sentence' ) Often, the first two types occur in a 'sentence', so, I want to maintain another table which maps 'Sentences' to 'long_word' or 'short_word' using the 'ID' field. All i need is another table with 2 'Integer fields' referring to 'ID' as a foreign key. But, how do i do this in Elixir? Thanks a lot...

  • [PHP] missing keys in $_POST

When I pass plain text, it works fine. When I printed $_POST [i.e. used - print_r($_POST) ], I got the following output - Array ( [ad_id] = 15 [name] = Banner [placement] = ad_468x60 [code] = [status] = 1 [banner_uploaded] = 1 [country] = IN [date-from] = [date-to] = [update] = Update Advertisement ) Please be known, I haven't entered the 'date-from','date-to' fields. I have entered on purpose as StackOverflow don't allow me to post images! People,any help will be highly appreciated.

  • C++ - Conway's Game of Life & Stepping Backwards

    - by Gabe
I was able to create a version Conway's Game of Life that either stepped forward each click, or just ran forward using a timer. (I'm doing this using Qt.) Now, I need to be able to save all previous game grids, so that I can step backwards by clicking a button. I'm trying to use a stack, and it seems like I'm pushing the old gridcells onto the stack correctly. But when I run it in QT, the grids don't change when I click BACK. I've tried different things for the last three hours, to no avail. Any ideas? gridwindow.cpp - My problem should be in here somewhere. Probably the handleBack() func. #include <iostream> #include "gridwindow.h" using namespace std; // Constructor for window. It constructs the three portions of the GUI and lays them out vertically. GridWindow::GridWindow(QWidget *parent, int rows, int cols) : QWidget(parent) { QHBoxLayout *header = setupHeader(); // Setup the title at the top. QGridLayout *grid = setupGrid(rows, cols); // Setup the grid of colored cells in the middle. QHBoxLayout *buttonRow = setupButtonRow(); // Setup the row of buttons across the bottom. QVBoxLayout *layout = new QVBoxLayout(); // Puts everything together. layout->addLayout(header); layout->addLayout(grid); layout->addLayout(buttonRow); setLayout(layout); } // Destructor. GridWindow::~GridWindow() { delete title; } // Builds header section of the GUI. This method populates the grid's 2D array of GridCells with MxN cells. QGridLayout* GridWindow::setupGrid(int rows, int cols) { isRunning = false; QGridLayout *grid = new QGridLayout(); // Creates grid layout. grid->setHorizontalSpacing(0); // No empty spaces. • Remove Registry Keys for Windows Phone 7 Emulator

    - by Jake Pearson
I am trying to get the updated Windows Phone 7 tools installed, but can't get rid of the old ones. The uninstaller wouldn't run, so I had to try more extreme means. I got everything removed except for "Microsoft Windows Phone Emulator x64". Does anyone know what vm_web.exe (the tool installer) is checking for (registry, file, etc.) that prevents the installer from running. I tried Aaron Stebner's clean up tool, and it helped a lot, but couldn't get rid of the emulator.

  • Linq Grouping by 2 keys as a one

    - by Evgeny
Hello! I write a simple OLAP viewer for my web-site. Here are the classes (abstract example): Employee { ID; Name; Roles[]; //What Employee can do } Order { Price; Employee Manager; Employee Executive; //Maybe wrong english. The person which perform order } Employee can be Manager and Executive in the order at the same time. This means that Employee role is not fixed. I have to group orders by employees and finally get IGrouping with Employee key. So .GroupBy(el=new {el.Manager,el.Executive}) is not allowed. I considered some tricks with IEqualityComparable, but found no solution. If somrbody will help I'll be vary glad, thank you.

  • Change Large Number of Record Keys using Map Table

    - by Coyote
I have a set of records indexed by id numbers, I need to convert these record's indexes to a new id number. I have a two column table mapping the old numbers to the new numbers. For example given these two tables, what would the update statement look like? Given: OLD_TO_NEW oldid | newid ----------------- 1234 0987 7698 5645 ... ... and id | data ---------------- 1234 'yo' 7698 'hey' ... ... Need: id | data ---------------- 0987 'yo' 5645 'hey' ... ... This oracle so I have access to PL/SQL, I'm just trying to avoid it.

  • Very long strings as primary keys in a database for caching

    - by Bill Zimmerman
Hi, I am working on a web app that allows users to create dynamic PDF files based on what they enter into a form (it is not very structured data). The idea is that User 1 enters several words (arbitrary # of words, practically capped of course), for example: A B C D E There is no such string in the database, so I was thinking: Store this string as a primary key in a MySQL database (it could be maybe around 50-100k of text, but usually probably less than 200 words) Generate the PDF file, and create a link to it in the database When the next user requests A B C D E, then I can just serve the file instead of recreating it each time. (simple cache) The PDF is cpu intensive to generate, so I am trying to cache as much as I can... My questions are: Does anyone have any alternative ideas to my approach What will the database performance be like? Is there a better way to design the schema than using the input string as the primary key?

  • perl hashes - comparing keys and values

    - by Aaron Moodie
    I've been reading over the perl doc, but I can't quite get my head around hashes. I'm trying to find if a hash key exists, and if so, compare is't value. The thing that is confusing me is that my searches say that you find if a key exists by if (exists $files{$key}) , but that $files{$key} also gives the value? the code i'm working on is: foreach my $item(@new_contents) { next if !-f "$directory/$item"; my $date_modified = (stat("$directory/$item"))[9]; if (exists $files{$item}) { if ($files{$item} != $date_modified { $files{$item} = $date_modified; print "$item has been modified\n"; } } else { $files{$item} = $date_modified; print "$item has been added\n"; } }

  • How to assign default values and define unique keys in Entity Framework 4 Designer

    - by csharpnoob
Hello, I've had a look at the Entity Framework 4. While generating code for the SQL Server 2008 I came to the point where I want to define some default values for some fields. how to define in the designer for a Created DateTime Field the DateTime. Now default value? - Error 54: Default value (DateTime. Now) is not valid for DateTime. The value must be in the form 'yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.fffZ' how to make for code generation a string Field unique. Like E-Mail or Username can exists only once in the table. I've search alot in the internet and also checked my books Pro Entity Framework 4.0 and Programming Entity Framework. But none of them seems to come up with the default value issue, or using sql commands as default values for database generation. Another thing is, how to prevent on database generation always from droping tables? Instead i want to append non existing fields and keep the data. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Nhibernate: one-to-many, based on multiple keys?

    - by e36M3
Lets assume I have two tables Table tA ID ID2 SomeColumns Table tB ID ID2 SomeOtherColumns I am looking to create a Object let's call it ObjectA (based on tA), that will have a one-to-many relationship to ObjectB (based on tB). In my example however, I need to use the combination of ID and ID2 as the foreign key. If I was writing SQL it would look like this: select tB.* from tA, tB where tA.ID = tB.ID and tA.ID2 = tB.ID2; I know that for each ID/ID2 combination in tA I should have many rows in tB, therefor I know it's a one-to-many combination. Clearly the below set is not sufficient for such mapping as it only takes one key into account. <set name="A2" table="A2" generic="true" inverse="true" > <key column="ID" /> <one-to-many class="A2" /> </set> Thanks!

  • cakephp filter index pages according to foreign keys

    - by Marki
Hi there, I'm pretty new to CakePHP and was missing a crucial feature not generated as scaffold: filtering. What do I have to do to provide dropdowns or multi-selects on the index pages for each field that is a (foreign) key, thereby allowing to filter the table ("OR" inside multi-select, "AND" between different multi-selects, if any)? From what my websearch has shown me there are many more people trying to accomplish the same thing, although I couldn't find anything that would work for me because either they have text fields and do wildcard filtering, or the plugins they propose only work for 1.2 whereas i now started with 1.3 etc. etc. Can someone alleviate the confusion and maybe present some working code or direct me to the definitive guide[tm] where this matter has been solved? Thx

  • Remove certain keys from a dictionary in python

    - by Margaret
I'm trying to construct a dictionary that contains a series of sets: {Field1:{Value1, Value2, Value3}, Field2{Value4}} The trouble is, I then wish to delete any fields from the dictionary that only have one value in the set. I have been writing code like this: for field in FieldSet: if len(FieldSet[field]) == 1: del(FieldSet[field]) But receive the error "RuntimeError: dictionary changed size during execution". (Not surprising, since that's what I'm doing.) It's not the be-all and end-all if I have to knock together some sort of workaround, but is it possible to do this?

  • NHibernate, legacy database, foreign keys that aren't

    - by Joe
The project I'm working on has a legacy database with lots of information in it that's used to alter application behavior. Basically I'm stuck with something that I have to be super careful about changing. Onto my problem. In this database is a table and in this table is a column. This column contains integers and most of the pre-existing data have a value of zero for this column. The problem is that this column is in fact a foreign key reference to another entity, it was just never defined as such in the database schema. Now in my new code I defined my Fluent-NHibernate mapping to treat this column as a Reference so that I don't have to deal with entity id's directly in my code. This works fine until I come across an entity that has a value of 0 in this column. NHibernate thinks that a value of 0 is a valid reference. When my code tries to use that referenced object I get an ObjectNotFoundException as obviously there is no object in my database with an id of 0. How can I, either through mapping or some kind of convention (I'm using Fluent-nhibernate), get NHibernate to treat id's that are 0 the same as if it was NULL?

  • Numeric operations over SHA-1 generated keys in C#

    - by webdreamer
I'm trying to implement a Chord distributed hash table. I want to use SHA-1 as the hash function to generate node ids and map values to the DHT. However, I'll need to use numerical operations on the SHA-1 generated key, such as a modulo, for example. I wonder in which type of variable should I put the array of bytes I get, and how can I convert from one to another.

  • Strange results - I obtain same value for all keys

    - by Pietro Luciani
I have a problem with mapreduce. Giving as input a list of song ("Songname"#"UserID"#"boolean") i must have as result a song list in which is specified how many time different useres listen them... so a output ("Songname","timelistening"). I used hashtable to allow only one couple . With short files it works well but when I put as input a list about 1000000 of records it returns me the same value (20) for all records. This is my mapper: public static class CanzoniMapper extends Mapper<Object, Text, Text, IntWritable>{ private IntWritable userID = new IntWritable(0); private Text song = new Text(); public void map(Object key, Text value, Context context) throws IOException, InterruptedException { /*StringTokenizer itr = new StringTokenizer(value.toString()); while (itr.hasMoreTokens()) { word.set(itr.nextToken()); context.write(word, one); }*/ String[] caratteri = value.toString().split("#"); if(caratteri[2].equals("1")){ song.set(caratteri[0]); userID.set(Integer.parseInt(caratteri[1])); context.write(song, userID); } } } This is my reducer: public static class CanzoniReducer extends Reducer<Text,IntWritable,Text,IntWritable> { private IntWritable result = new IntWritable(); public void reduce(Text key, Iterable<IntWritable> values, Context context) throws IOException, InterruptedException { Hashtable<IntWritable,Text> doppioni = new Hashtable<IntWritable,Text>(); for (IntWritable val : values) { doppioni.put(val, key); } result.set(doppioni.size()); //doppioni.clear(); context.write(key, result); } } and main: Configuration conf = new Configuration(); Job job = new Job(conf, "word count"); job.setJarByClass(Canzoni.class); job.setMapperClass(CanzoniMapper.class); //job.setCombinerClass(CanzoniReducer.class); //job.setNumReduceTasks(2); job.setReducerClass(CanzoniReducer.class); job.setOutputKeyClass(Text.class); job.setOutputValueClass(IntWritable.class); FileInputFormat.addInputPath(job, new Path(args[0])); FileOutputFormat.setOutputPath(job, new Path(args[1])); System.exit(job.waitForCompletion(true) ? 0 : 1); Any idea???
