  • SSIS - Connection Management Within a Loop

    - by Rob Bowman
    Hi I have the following SSIS package: The problem is that within the Foreach loop a connection is opened and closed for each iteration. On running SQL Profiler I see a series of: Audit Login RPC:Completed Audit Lout The duration for the login and the RPC that actually does the work is minimal. However, the duration for the logout is significant, running into several seconds each. This causes the JOB to run very slowly - taking many hours. I get the same problem when running either on a test server or stand-alone laptop. Could anyone please suggest how I may change the package to improve performance? Also, I have noticed that when running the package from Visual Studio, it looks as though it continues to run with the component blocks going amber then green but actually all the processing has been completed and SQL profiler has dropped silent? Thanks, Rob.

    - by user1755603
    Why is the "localStorage.removeItem" stopping the loop? If I remove "localStorage.removeItem" and only leave the "alert", it loops though whole thing, but with "localStorage.removeItem" it stops on the first match. function removeTask() { for (i=0; i < localStorage.length; i++){ checkbox = document.getElementById('utford'+i); if (checkbox.checked == true) { alert(i); localStorage.removeItem(localStorage.key(i)); } } printList(); }

  • Multithreaded Win32 GUI message loop

    - by Dave18
    When do you need to use this type of modified message loop in multithreaded application? DWORD nWaitCount; HANDLE hWaitArray[4]; BOOL quit; int exitCode; while (!quit) { MSG msg; int rc; rc = MsgWaitForMultipleObjects(nWaitCount, hWaitArray, FALSE, INFINITE,QS_ALLINPUT); if (rc == WAIT_OBJECT_O + nWaitCount) { while (PeekMessage(&msg, NULL, 0, 0, PM_REMOVE)) { if (msg.message == WM_QUIT) { quit = TRUE; exitCode = msg.wParam; break; } TranslateMessage(&msg); DispatchMessage(&msg); } } else if (rc >= WAIT_OBJECT_0 && rc < WAIT_OBJECT_0 + nwaitCount) { int nlndex = rc - WAIT_OBJECT_0; } else if (rc >= WAIT_ABANDONED_0 && rc < WAIT_ABANDONED_0+ nWaitCount) { int nlndex = rc - WAIT_ABANDONED_O; } }

  • Find files in a folder using Java

    - by Sii
    Hello, I'm new here so be kind to my stupidity :) What I need to do if Search a folder say C:\example I then need to go through each file and check to see if it matches a few start characters so if files start temp****.txt tempONE.txt tempTWO.txt So if the file starts with temp and has an extension .txt I would like to then put that file name into a File file = new File("C:/example/temp***.txt); so I can then read in the file, the loop then needs to move onto the next file to check to see if it meets as above. I hope this makes sense, thanks for taking the time to view this I do apperciate it :)

  • jquery dynamically genearate element id in a loop

    - by phil
    This is a loop in a function intending to create elements <li> and give each <li> an unique id. But it's not working. I suspect it's a simple syntax error with the use of quote in .attr(). But I can't get a straight answer from Google. for (i=0;i<array.length;i++) { //create HTML element of tag li $('#suggest').append("<li></li>"); $("li").attr("id",'li'+i); $('#li'+i).html(array[i]); }

  • Basic Python While loop compound conditional evaluation

    - by dbjohn
    In Python IDLE Shell it seems I cannot use a compound conditional expression and a while loop. I tried it within brackets too. k=0 m=0 while k<10 & m<10: print k k +=1 m+=1 If I write while k<10: print k k+=1 This does work. Is there a way I could achieve the first block of code with the "and" operator. I have done it in Java. Do I just need to put together "if" statements to achieve the same functionality in Python?

  • While Loop in TSQL with Sum totals

    - by RPS
    I have the following TSQL Statement, I am trying to figure out how I can keep getting the results (100 rows at a time), store them in a variable (as I will have to add the totals after each select) and continue to select in a while loop until no more records are found and then return the variable totals to the calling function. SELECT [OrderUser].OrderUserId, ISNULL(SUM(total.FileSize), 0), ISNULL(SUM(total.CompressedFileSize), 0) FROM ( SELECT DISTINCT TOP(100) ProductSize.OrderUserId, ProductSize.FileInfoId, CAST(ProductSize.FileSize AS BIGINT) AS FileSize, CAST(ProductSize.CompressedFileSize AS BIGINT) AS CompressedFileSize FROM ProductSize WITH (NOLOCK) INNER JOIN [Version] ON ProductSize.VersionId = [Version].VersionId ) AS total RIGHT OUTER JOIN [OrderUser] WITH (NOLOCK) ON total.OrderUserId = [OrderUser].OrderUserId WHERE NOT ([OrderUser].isCustomer = 1 AND [OrderUser].isEndOrderUser = 0 OR [OrderUser].isLocation = 1) AND [OrderUser].OrderUserId = 1 GROUP BY [OrderUser].OrderUserId

  • C++ iterators & loop optimization

    - by Quantum7
    I see a lot of c++ code that looks like this: for( const_iterator it = list.begin(), const_iterator ite = list.end(); it != ite; ++it) As opposed to the more concise version: for( const_iterator it = list.begin(); it != list.end(); ++it) Will there be any difference in speed between these two conventions? Naively the first will be slightly faster since list.end() is only called once. But since the iterator is const, it seems like the compiler will pull this test out of the loop, generating equivalent assembly for both.

  • Check one element on last row of a table is not empty using Jquery.

    - by Cesar Lopez
    I have the following function: var emptyFields = false; function checkNotEmpty(tblName, columns, className){ emptyFields = false; $("."+className+"").each(function() { if($.trim($(this).val()) === "" &amp;&amp; $(this).is(":visible")){ emptyFields = true; return false; // break out of the each-loop } }); if (emptyFields) { alert("Please fill in current row before adding a new one."); } else { AddRow_OnButtonClick(tblName,columns); } } Its checking that all elements in the table are not empty before adding a new row, and I only need to check that the last row of the table has at least an element which its not empty and not the whole table. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

  • How to Break out of multiple loops at once in C#?

    - by Rosarch
    What if I have nested loops, and I want to break out of all of them at once? while (true) { // ... while (shouldCont) { // ... while (shouldGo) { // ... if (timeToStop) { break; // break out of everything? } } } } In PHP, break takes an argument for the number of loops to break out of. Can something like this be done in C#? What about something hideous, like goto? // in the innermost loop goto BREAK // ... BREAK: break; break; break;

  • Python Tkinter after loop not working fast enough

    - by user2658538
    I am making a simple metronome where it plays a tick sound every few milliseconds depending on the bpm and plays the sound using the winsound module. I use tkinter because there will be a gui component later but for now the metronome code is working, it plays the sound at a constant rate, but even though I set the after loop to play the sound every few milliseconds, it waits longer and the beat is slower than it should be. Is it a problem with the code or a problem with the way I calculate the time? Thanks. Here is my code. from Tkinter import * import winsound,time,threading root=Tk() c=Canvas(root) c.pack() class metronome(): def __init__(self,root,canvas,tempo=100): self.root=root self.root.bind("<1>",self.stop) self.c=canvas self.thread=threading.Thread(target=self.play) self.thread.daemon=True self.pause=False self.tempo=tempo/60.0 self.tempo=1.0/self.tempo self.tempo*=1000 def play(self): winsound.PlaySound("tick.wav",winsound.SND_FILENAME) self.sound=self.c.after(int(self.tempo),self.play) def stop(self,e): self.c.after_cancel(self.sound) beat=metronome(root,c,120) beat.thread.start() root.mainloop()

  • loop in simplexml load file

    - by shantanuo
    I am using the following code to parse the XML data to MySQL table and it is working as expected. <?php $sxe = simplexml_load_file("$myfile"); foreach($sxe->AUTHAD as $sales) { $authad="insert into test.authad values ('".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->LOCALDATE)."','".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->LOCALTIME)."','".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->TLOGID)."','" ... ?> The problem is that when I get a new xml file with different format, I can not use the above insert into statement and have to change the parameters manually. For e.g. $authadv_new="insert into test.authad values ('".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->NEW1)."','".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->NEW2)."','".mysql_real_escape_string($sales->NEW3)."','" ... Is there any way to automate this? I mean the PHP code should be able to anticipate the parameters and generate the mysql_real_escape_string($sales-NEW1) to NEW10 values using a loop.

  • jQuery infinite loop w/ tablesorter

    - by Wells
    Got myself in a funny situation: page has three tables. Using sortEnd, any time you sort one table, it sorts the other three. However, since I bound sortEnd to the function that does the sorting, you get a infinite loop of sorting/resorting. It looks like: $("table.tablesorter").tablesorter({widgets: ['zebra']}).bind("sortEnd", function() { $(this).find("th.headerSortDown,.headerSortUp").each(function(i) { index = $(this).attr("cellIndex"); order = ($(this).is(".headerSortDown")) ? 1 : 0; $("table.tablesorter").tablesorter({sortList: [[index,order]]}); }); }); Any tips on how to clean this up?

  • Loop through collections

    - by ScG
    I have two classes class A { public string something { get; set; } public IList<B> b= new List<B>(); } class B { public string else { get; set; } public string elseelse { get; set; } } I have populated an object of class A called obj. How can I loop through this object and print values. Do I have to use two foreach's like the one show here or is there a better way? foreach (var z in obj) { // print z.something; foreach (var x in z.b) { // print x.elseelse; } }

  • Constant embedded for loop condition optimization in C++ with gcc

    - by solinent
    Will a compiler optimize tihs: bool someCondition = someVeryTimeConsumingTask(/* ... */); for (int i=0; i<HUGE_INNER_LOOP; ++i) { if (someCondition) doCondition(i); else bacon(i); } into: bool someCondition = someVeryTimeConsumingTask(/* ... */); if (someCondition) for (int i=0; i<HUGE_INNER_LOOP; ++i) doCondition(i); else for (int i=0; i<HUGE_INNER_LOOP; ++i) bacon(i); someCondition is trivially constant within the for loop. This may seem obvious and that I should do this myself, but if you have more than one condition then you are dealing with permuatations of for loops, so the code would get quite a bit longer. I am deciding on whether to do it (I am already optimizing) or whether it will be a waste of my time.

  • How to have game audio loop at a certain point

    - by Essential
    I have a storm in my game, and so I've made an ambient audio file which slowly grows into a storm and rain fades in, which then becomes a loopable storm audio file. Here is how I've done it: // Play intro clip and merge into main loop var introTime = stormIntro.length; AudioSource.PlayClipAtPoint( stormIntro, Vector3.zero, 0.7 ); Invoke( "StormMusic", introTime ); The way I'm currently trying to do it is get the length of the storm_intro audio clip, play the clip, and then invoke storm_loop to begin after the length of the intro has completed. This kinda works, but not really because there's occasionally a gap between the two. So how can I do it so the transition is seamless?
