  • overridden three20 TTDefaultStyleSheet style not working

    - by funkadelic
hi, i recently got three20 integrated into my app and am trying to override the default toolbar color in TTWebController. In TTWebController.m:118 I see that this is setting the toolbar's tintColor: _toolbar.tintColor = TTSTYLEVAR(toolbarTintColor); So I created my own stylesheet that subclasses TTDefaultStyleSheet and overrides toolbarTintColor FooStyleSheet.h: #import <Three20Style/Three20Style.h> #import <Three20Style/TTStyleSheet.h> #import <Three20Style/TTDefaultStyleSheet.h> @interface FooStyleSheet : TTDefaultStyleSheet @property (nonatomic, readonly) UIColor* toolbarTintColor; @end FooStyleSheet.m: #import "FooStyleSheet.h" @implementation RaptrStyleSheet - (UIColor*)toolbarTintColor { return RGBCOLOR(0, 0, 0); // should override TTDefaultStyleSheet } @end and in my application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: i set my default stylesheet [TTStyleSheet setGlobalStyleSheet:[[[FooStyleSheet alloc] init] autorelease]]; but when I view the TTWebController, it doesn't inherit my tintColor. If I edit TTDefaultStyleSheet.m directly: - (UIColor*)toolbarTintColor { return [UIColor blackColor]; } it works as expected. Is there something I am overlooking that is preventing my style to be picked up? thanks, -norm

  • Multiple calls with Simple Modal OSX Style Dialog

    - by Brad Langdon
I am using Simple Modal, the OSX style version. I have two calls to the modal and therefore two versions of content. When either of the buttons is clicked it selects only the first lot of content. There is nowhere to put a hook on the content like most modal windows as there is no javascript on the page to add parameters... only an external .js file which I don't want to touch for obvious reasons. Can anyone help me with this problem? Click here to view the page

  • Loading FireMonkey style resourses with RTTI

    - by HeMet
I am trying to write class that inherits from FMX TStyledControl. When style is updated it loads style resource objects to cache. I created project group for package with custom controls and test FMX HD project as it describes in Delphi help. After installing package and placing TsgSlideHost on the test form I run test app. It’s work well, but when I close it and try to rebuild package RAD Studio says “Error in rtl160.bpl” or “invalid pointer operation”. It seems what problem in LoadToCacheIfNeeded procedure from TsgStyledControl, but I’m not understand why. Is there any restriction on using RTTI with FMX styles or anything? TsgStyledControl sources: unit SlideGUI.TsgStyledControl; interface uses System.SysUtils, System.Classes, System.Types, FMX.Types, FMX.Layouts, FMX.Objects, FMX.Effects, System.UITypes, FMX.Ani, System.Rtti, System.TypInfo; type TCachedAttribute = class(TCustomAttribute) private fStyleName: string; public constructor Create(const aStyleName: string); property StyleName: string read fStyleName; end; TsgStyledControl = class(TStyledControl) private procedure CacheStyleObjects; procedure LoadToCacheIfNeeded(aField: TRttiField); protected function FindStyleResourceAs<T: class>(const AStyleLookup: string): T; function GetStyleName: string; virtual; abstract; function GetStyleObject: TControl; override; public procedure ApplyStyle; override; published { Published declarations } end; implementation { TsgStyledControl } procedure TsgStyledControl.ApplyStyle; begin inherited; CacheStyleObjects; end; procedure TsgStyledControl.CacheStyleObjects; var ctx: TRttiContext; typ: TRttiType; fld: TRttiField; begin ctx := TRttiContext.Create; try typ := ctx.GetType(Self.ClassType); for fld in typ.GetFields do LoadFromCacheIfNeeded(fld); finally ctx.Free end; end; function TsgStyledControl.FindStyleResourceAs<T>(const AStyleLookup: string): T; var fmxObj: TFmxObject; begin fmxObj := FindStyleResource(AStyleLookup); if Assigned(fmxObj) and (fmxObj is T) then Result := fmxObj as T else Result := nil; end; function TsgStyledControl.GetStyleObject: TControl; var S: TResourceStream; begin if (FStyleLookup = '') then begin if FindRCData(HInstance, GetStyleName) then begin S := TResourceStream.Create(HInstance, GetStyleName, RT_RCDATA); try Result := TControl(CreateObjectFromStream(nil, S)); Exit; finally S.Free; end; end; end; Result := inherited GetStyleObject; end; procedure TsgStyledControl.LoadToCacheIfNeeded(aField: TRttiField); var attr: TCustomAttribute; styleName: string; styleObj: TFmxObject; val: TValue; begin for attr in aField.GetAttributes do begin if attr is TCachedAttribute then begin styleName := TCachedAttribute(attr).StyleName; if styleName <> '' then begin styleObj := FindStyleResource(styleName); val := TValue. From<TFmxObject>(styleObj); aField.SetValue(Self, val); end; end; end; end; { TCachedAttribute } constructor TCachedAttribute.Create(const aStyleName: string); begin fStyleName := aStyleName; end; end. • jQuery UI Autocomplete - style like a standard <SELECT>

    - by jkohlhepp
I'm on the verge of starting a new web application that is likely to have need for both standard, simple dropdowns as well as more feature-rich autocomplete controls for longer lists of values, better type ahead behavior, etc. I'm planning on using the jQuery UI Autocomplete widget along with some combobox behavior as detailed here: http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/#combobox My concern is that "out of the box" the Autocomplete widget looks very different than a standard control. Since is not easy to skin/style, I'm hoping to adjust the Autocomplete to look & feel as close to the as possible, except in the cases where the increased functionality justifies a different L&F. What is the best way to go about reskinning the Autocomplete to look more like a ? Has this already been done somewhere? Should I use jQuery UI theming? Other options?

  • What is the C# static fields naming convention?

    - by Matt
I have recently started using ReSharper which is a fantastic tool. Today I came across a naming rule for static fields, namely prefixing with an underscore ie. private static string _myString; Is this really the standard way to name static variables? If so is it just personal preference and style, or does it have some sort of lower level impact? Eg Compilation JIT etc? Where does this style originate from? I have always associated it with C++, is that correct?

  • Style Switcher & Text Resizer Combined?

    - by Stephen
Hi there, I've came across various style switchers that allow you to change the stylesheet (i.e. Light, Dark, High Contrast), and carious text-resizers that allow you to resize the test (usually with Three A's, small, medium and large). However, I can't seem to find a single switcher/resizer that works well together by allowing permutations of the two. i.e. so the user can choose a dark background with small text, or a dark background with large text, etc. I can only seem to get this working where the user can choose one or the other styles (large text or High Contrast, not a combination of the two). Any ideas on anything that may be suitable for this at all? Thanks, Stephen

  • functional-style datatypes in Python

    - by Danny Roberts
For anyone who's spent some time with sml, ocaml, haskell, etc. when you go back to using C, Python, Java, etc. you start to notice things you never knew were missing. I'm doing some stuff in Python and I realized what I really want is a functional-style datatype like (for example) datatype phoneme = Vowel of string | Consonant of voice * place * manner datatype voice = Voiced | Voiceless datatype place = Labial | Dental | Retroflex | Palatal | Velar | Glottal datatype manner = Stop | Affricate | Fricative | Nasal | Lateral type syllable = phoneme list Does anyone have a particular way that they like to simulate this in Python?

  • Dynatree multi - selection implementaion ala Windows style

    - by gnomixa
I would like to implement windows style multi-selection: when user holds CTRL key and selects several nodes of the tree. Dynatree (from here http://wwwendt.de/tech/dynatree/doc/dynatree-doc.html) by default has checkboxes for node selection which my client doesn't seem to like. My question is, is it possible to implement what I need using provided set of callbacks? also, curently, when I hold CTRL key and click on the node, it opens a new window. Is there any way to suppress this functionality? i am guess I would have to do through CSS?

  • How to style alternating rows in asp.net mvc

    - by YeahStu
I am using a <% foreach ...% loop to list a collection of items on my website. I want to add a different background color for the style of alternating rows in my list. I have found a way to do this but I am not satisfied with it as it seems like a hack. Here is what I have done to solve it so far: <table> <% int counter = 0; foreach (var item in Model) { counter++; if (counter % 2 == 0) { %> <tr class="colorfull"> <% } else { %> <tr> <% } %> ... Is there a best practice that I am missing that people are using for this scenario in ASP.NET MVC?

  • Javascript incapable of getting element's max-height via element.style.maxHeight

    - by Zane
I am making a simple accordion menu in javascript. I'd like to be able to set the compact and expanded heights for the elements via the css max-height and min-height values. For some reason, when I try to retrieve the min-height and max-height of the elements in javascript for animation purposes, I get an empty string rather than, for instance, "500px" like it should. The max-height value is set in css, e.g. #id { min-height: 40px; max-height: 500px; } is all set up, but when I put a debugging mechanism in my javascript such as alert( item.style.minHeight ); it pops up an empty alert box. This happens in Firefox 3.6.2 and IE 8. Does anybody know why javascript refuses to be able to get an element's minHeight and maxHeight?

  • ASP-style tags for Perl web development?

    - by Alex R
I feel like I'm traveling 10 years back in time by asking this, but... Are there any modules, patches, or any "new" version of Perl (released in the last 10 years) to enable writing web-oriented Perl scripts using ASP-style tags? e.g. from ASP/JSP some html <% some code %> more HTML e.g. from PHP some html <? some code ?> more HTML Please don't worry about "why" I'm asking this... It's related to programming language research.

  • PySide using Style Sheets to change QtoolBox

    - by efi_ex
I'm Wondering if somebody knows a better reference than the QT one for style sheets. I try to change the background of the content from a QToolBox but background-color only changes the header of the toolbox and the background of the content it reveals is left in a standard color. I then tried to change the bg of QWidget which worked but left me with problems now at Radiobuttons and Checkboxes, i also think changing QWidget isn't a good solution. The first picture is with Qt standard colors (this is a maya tool) the second when i change QWidget http://i.imgur.com/MNlSedx.png?1 http://i.imgur.com/wuplpmw.png?1

  • Achieve Rails-style migrations in MS Access VBA application

    - by avguchenko
This is a simple way to do Rails-style migrations in a VBA application. Just add additional migrations like migration(name, sql_string, database) to run_migratons and call run_migrations somewhere in the beginning of your execution. Function migrate(signature As String, sql As String, dbs As DAO.database) Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set rs = dbs.OpenRecordset("select * from versions where migration = '" & signature & "'") If rs.EOF Then dbs.Execute (sql) rs.AddNew rs("migration") = signature rs.Update End If End Function Function setup_versions(dbs As DAO.database) Dim t As DAO.TableDef On Error Resume Next Set t = dbs.TableDefs("versions") If Err.Number <> 0 Then dbs.Execute ("CREATE TABLE versions (migration text)") End If Err.Clear End Function Function run_migrations(dbs As DAO.database) setup_versions(dbs) migrate("20100315142400_create_table", "CREATE TABLE table_name (field1 type, field 2 type)", dbs) 'add migrations here' End Function

  • Latex: reset font style

    - by watain
    Is there a way I can reset the style of a certain character sequence? I'm using the listings package to display source code and the prebreak property to display a escape character \ to indicate that the current lines was broken. The problem is that sometimes the backslash is colored because of the syntax highlighting used. So I need basically something like a resetstyle statement, as in the following imaginary example: \textbf{Some bold text \resetstyle{not bold, no color} foo bar} EDIT: Here are the settings that I'm using via lstset: \lstset{ extendedchars = \true, inputencoding = utf8, basicstyle = \scriptsize\ttfamily, breaklines = true, breakindent = 10pt, breakatwhitespace = true, breakautoindent = true, prebreak = \\, frame = leftline, showtabs = true, numbers = left, stepnumber = 2, numberstyle = \footnotesize, numbersep = 10pt, keywordstyle = \color[RGB]{0,0,255}, commentstyle = \itshape\color[RGB]{120,120,120}, stringstyle = \color[rgb]{0.627,0.126,0.941}, emphstyle = {[0]\color[RGB]{236,0,168}}, emphstyle = {[1]\color[RGB]{34,139,34}\underbar}, emphstyle = {[2]\textbf} }

  • Cast from Void* to TYPE* using C++ style cast: static_cast or reinterpret_cast

    - by David Relihan
So if your converting from Void* to Type* or from Type* to Void* should you use: void func(void *p) { Params *params = static_cast<Params*>(p); } or void func(void *p) { Params *params = reinterpret_cast<Params*>(p); } To me static_cast seems the more correct but I've seen both used for the same purpose. Also, does the direction of the conversion matter. i.e. should I still use static_cast for: _beginthread(func,0,static_cast<void*>(params) I have read the other questions on C++ style casting but I'm still not sure what the correct way is for this scenario (I think it is static_cast)

  • Base-camp Style Subdomains and IDs of Models

    - by Newy
I have an app that has Basecamp-style subdomains, that is, I have Projects, Users, Apples and Oranges. The Users, Apples and Oranges are all keyed to a Project and only exist in the http://project.myapp.com. I added a project_id to Users, Apples and Oranges and everything works, except of course that the ids of those three objects increment globally, and throughout my app I lookup objects by that id. This doesn't seem like best practice. Should I instead do lookups by a secondary key? How does that affect efficiency? If there's a good blog post that covers this, would be wesome.

  • How to have localized style when writing cell with xlwt

    - by lfagundes
I'm writing an Excel spreadsheet with Python's xlwt and I need numbers to be formatted using "." as thousands separator, as it is in brazilian portuguese language. I have tried: style.num_format_str = r'#,##0' And it sets the thousands separator as ','. If I try setting num_format_str to '#.##0', I'll get number formatted as 1234.000 instead of 1.234. And if I open document in OpenOffice and format cells, I can set the language of the cell to "Portuguese (Brazil)" and then OpenOffice will show the format code as being "#.##0", but I don't find a way to set the cell's language to brazilian portuguese. Any ideas?

  • Drupal 6 / Views2 Grid style: whole cells link to nodes

    - by jackocnr
I have a Users page, which is simply a nicely styled grid (HTML table) of users. I'm displaying a few fields for each one, and both the name and the profile picture have been set to link to the user node. What is the best way to change it so that the whole cell (HTML td) links to the user node? Would you have to use javascript? I've looked into modifying the theme of the view (over-riding the Style output e.g. views-view-grid--users.tpl.php), but cant see an elegant way to get the URL of the user node. And I think you would have to use javascript anyway to turn a whole block element into a link.

  • What's so bad about in-line CSS?

    - by ChessWhiz
When I see website starter code and examples, the CSS is always in a separate file, named something like "main.css", "default.css", or "Site.css". However, when I'm coding up a page, I'm often tempted to throw the CSS in-line with a DOM element, such as by setting "float: right" on an image. I get the feeling that this is "bad coding", since it's so rarely done in examples. I understand that if the style will be applied to multiple objects, it's wise to follow "Don't Repeat Yourself" (DRY) and assign it to a CSS class to be referenced by each element. However, if I won't be repeating the CSS on another element, why not in-line the CSS as I write the HTML? The question: Is using in-line CSS considered bad, even if it will only be used on that element? If so, why? Example (is this bad?): <img src="myimage.gif" style="float:right" />

  • How to replace a div container with javascript

    - by Kovu
    Hi, I must have a little design in javascript. I have a menu with 5 entrys and only 1 HTML-page. So I will have a content-div and enabled and disabled different static content in it, each menu-entry is another content. I tried with 5 divs and disable 4 of them and enable 1, but the element under each other means every div is like a - enabled or not, so the "content" is moving then. Hope its understandable. Here is the code so far: <html><head><title>Des Einsame-Katerchen's kleine Homepage</title> <style type="text/css"> a:link { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } a:visited { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } a:focus { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } a:hover { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:line-through; } a:active { font-weight:bold; color:blue; text-decoration:none; } h1:focus { background-color:red; } h1:hover { background-color:silver; } h1:active { background-color:green; } </style> <script> function an(id) { document.getElementById('start').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('start').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('me').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('me').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('rpg').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('rpg').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('musik').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('musik').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById('screens').style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById('screens').style.height = '0px'; document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = 'visible'; document.getElementById(id).style.height = '500px'; } </script> </head> <body style=" " > <div style="width=100%; text-align:center; border: 1px red solid; height:40px;"> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('start')" >Startseite</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('me')" >Über mich</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('rpg')" >RPG-Chars</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:100px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('musik')" >Musik</a></div> <div style="float:left; width:150px;"><a href="#" OnClick="an('screens')" >Knuddels-Screens</a></div> </div> <br> <div id="start" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:500px; overflow: visible; " > a </div> <div id="me" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > b </div> <div id="rpg" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > c </div> <div id="musik" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > d </div> <div id="screens" style="border:1px red solid; width:500px; height:0px; overflow: visible; visibility: hidden; " > e </div> </body>

  • Consolidating coding styles: Funcs, private method, single method classes

    - by jdoig
Hi all, We currently have 3 devs with, some, conflicting styles and I'm looking for a way to bring peace to the kingdom... The Coders: Foo 1: Likes to use Func's & Action's inside public methods. He uses actions to alias off lengthy method calls and Func's to perform simple tasks that can be expressed in 1 or 2 lines and will be used frequently through out the code Pros: The main body of his code is succinct and very readable, often with only one or 2 public methods per class and rarely any private methods. Cons: The start of methods contain blocks of lambda rich code that other developers don't enjoy reading; and, on occasion, can contain higher order functions that other dev's REALLY don't like reading. Foo 2: Likes to create a private method for (almost) everything the public method will have to do . Pros: Public methods remain small and readable (to all developers). Cons: Private methods are numerous. With private methods that call into other private methods, that call into... etc, etc. Making code hard to navigate. Foo 3: Likes to create a public class with a, single, public method for every, non-trivial, task that needs performing, then dependency inject them into other objects. Pros: Easily testable, easy to understand (one object, one responsibility). Cons: project gets littered by classes, opening multiple class files to understand what code does makes navigation awkward. It would be great to take the best of all these techniques... Foo-1 Has really nice, readable (almost dsl-like) code... for the most part, except for all the Action and Func lambda shenanigans bulked together at the start of a method. Foo-3 Has highly testable and extensible code that just feels a bit "belt-&-braces" for some solutions and has some code-navigation niggles (constantly hitting F12 in VS and opening 5 other .cs files to find out what a single method does). And Foo-2... Well I'm not sure I like anything about the one-huge .cs file with 2 public methods and 12 private ones, except for the fact it's easier for juniors to dig into. I admit I grossly over-simplified the explanations of those coding styles; but if any one knows of any patterns, practices or diplomatic-manoeuvres that can help unite our three developers (without just telling any of them to just "stop it!") that would be great. From a feasibility standpoint : Foo-1's style meets with the most resistance due to some developers finding lambda and/or Func's hard to read. Foo-2's style meets with a less resistance as it's just so easy to fall into. Foo-3's style requires the most forward thinking and is difficult to enforce when time is short. Any ideas on some coding styles or conventions that can make this work?

  • Debugging F# code and functional style

    - by Roger Alsing
I'm new to funcctional programming and have some questions regarding coding style and debugging. I'm under the impression that one should avoid storing results from funcction calls in a temp variable and then return that variable e.g. let someFunc foo = let result = match foo with | x -> ... | y -> ... result And instead do it like this (I might be way off?): let someFunc foo = match foo with | x -> ... | y -> ... Which works fine from a functionallity perspective, but it makes it way harder to debug. I have no way to examine the result if the right hand side of - does some funky stuff. So how should I deal with this kind of scenarios?
