    Hi, I was wondering if there's an easy way to install Eucalyptus on a single VT-enabled machine (all Front End, CC, NC..), without installing XEN along with it's specific kernel and dependencies: kernel-xen x86_64 2.6.18-194.3.1.el5 update 20 M xen x86_64 3.0.3-105.el5_5.3 update 1.9 M xen-libs x86_64 3.0.3-105.el5_5.3 update 155 k Only KVM. Is it possible ? Do I have to go for sources instead of packages ?

    With putty on windows I added some tunnel for terminal service through ssh 6664 192.168.20.44:3389 6665 192.168.20.45:3389 6666 192.168.20.46:3389 So when I connect with client to 127.0.0.1:6664 it work... Now I want to use localtest.me to select the machine directly without port number. I want when I type foo.localtest.me in TS client to connect automaticaly on the 127.0.0.1:3389 is it possible or do I need a proxy to translate port regarding domain name.

  • How to restore a Windows Easy Transfer file from a 64bit machine to a 32bit machine?

    Using a 32bit laptop, I saved my settings etc. using "Windows Easy Transfer" from the Win7 RC. I set the file destination to a Win2K R2 machine that happened to be 64bit. When I re-installed my laptop and tried to restore my settings from the file I'd saved I was surprised to get an error: "Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-bit computer to a 32-bit computer." Is there a known workaround? Ideas on how to unpack the file and get my stuff?

  • windows 7 numlock issues with rdp causes machine to go crazy

    After going through a few rdp sessions to xp machines, when I come back to my local machine it appears some setting has been tripped so every key I type is registered as one of the function/alt keys plus the key I type, causing windows to open and close windows randomly and other erratic behavior. Pressing windows key and numlock returns everything to normal. Any ideas what causes this. I have experienced this on multiple win 7 machines, but never in vista or xp.

    I have a urgent problem to solve today, but I'm lost. Please help. I've cloned a Virtual Machine hosted on VM Ware ESXi 4.1 The OS is now Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS, but at the time of cloning it was 10.04 LTS. I fixed the MAC address manually inside /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules. It is a known problem on Ubuntu. I had to remove the old MAC address and set the new one as eth0. Everything seems to work fine, except ARP. My provider OVH sent me a warning to resolve it today (this is the second day) or they will block my IP! The log contains many lines like this: Tue Jun 5 01:04:29 2012 : arp who-has 178.32.136.212 tell 178.32.136.224 where .224 is the cloned server that is causing problems, and .212 is the cloned one. arp -na returns: ? (178.33.230.254) at 00:07:b4:00:00:02 [ether] on eth0 ? (178.32.136.212) at 00:50:56:09:8e:f1 [ether] on eth0 The first IP is the ESXi machine. The second one should not be there. I'm not an expert and I don't know what else to do to fix this problem. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks. I have space on my Lab account which i usually SSH into, and i was wondering if URL's can be directly transferred over to a remote machine and saved on the hard disk.     I'm currently generating documentation on one machine, and publishing it to a web server using the following commands in a script: net use "\\someShare" PASSWORD /user:username del /S /Q "\\someShare" xcopy /E /Y Documentation\html\* "\\someShare\" However, it feels like a really bad idea to have a password as plain text in the script, so I'm looking for alternatives to my current solution. Ideas? I definitely would appreciate a solution that uses some kind of access control, as many different people should be allowed to publish their own documentation to the web server, but not mess with each other's docs.

    How do you decrease or shrink the size of a KVM virtual machine disk? I allocated a virtual disk of 500GB (stored at /var/lib/libvirt/images/vm1.img), and I'm finding that overkill, so now I'd like to free up some of that space for use with other virtual machines. There seems to be a lot answers on how to increase image storage, but not decrease it. I found the virt-resize tool, but it only seems to work with raw disk partitions, not disk images.

  • Safari 4 starting up slowly on a Vista machine

    I have two PCs (different specs) with the latest Windows Vista and Safari 4 updates installed. In one machine, Safari 4 works great but in the other, it starts up slowly (less than a minute though) with harddisk sound indicating data access activities. I have cleared all internet caches and I am quite sure that there is no virus in both machines. Are there any other reasons that Safari performances are so different in comparably similar software and hardware environments?

    I am currently trying to figure out which solution would be best for software renting service (with proper licensing and stuff). I know its kinda stupid and so on, but I just have to develop it. Long story short - user can connect to a virtual machine (with windows guest os) using vnc and use some specific software for some specific time (eg., 1 hour).     I've just installed Ubuntu 9.10 Edition in VMWare Fusion; the host is Mac OS X. I installed it successfully and I was even able to use. After shutting it down and reopening it, it no longer works. Here's what I see: I've checked the Virtual Machine settings. It appears as running. I waited for a long time, but there no response yet. Is there anything I can do apart from reinstalling it?

However, when I run gpresult /v /u localmachine\user I get the error that I do have to specify a server name, and when I run gpresult /v /s 127.0.0.1 /u localmachine\user I get the message user credentials for local system are ignored, and I get the group policies for the local administrator as a result. How do I get the settings for the users?
