  Hi, I am fairly new to all this. I am trying to make a simple photo viewer with javascript or anything easy to alter. I just want a next and prev. button to take you between photos. Click next and next photo shows. Just that simple. I have a flash version but I would like to avoid using flash. I've been doing it the long way by making multiple pages, one for each photo and a button that repeats. I know there must be a better way but I just can't seem to figure it out. Please help

  Hi, I'm currently testing Vulnerabiltys to SQL Injections for my companys application as an it-trainee. So I found, that the application is indeed vulnerable to injections because I can alter some of the insert statements. So I altered the insert Statement to this: INSERT INTO tablename( column, column1, column2, column3, column4,column5, column6, column7, column8 ) VALUES ( 10965972, 185796154, 25, 23,2023, '', CURRENT_DATE, 'v0201100', 18); DELETE * FROM tablename;-- , 2023,'a', CURRENT_DATE, 'v0201100', 18 ) I thought this should be a correct statement, but the MySQL Server returned this Error: MySQL Error: 1064 (You have an error in your SQL syntax;[...] Would be nice if somebody could help and tell my why the syntax is wrong...   first off, is there a such thing as a random access random number generator, where you could not only sequentially generate random numbers as we're all used to, assuming rand100() always generates a value from 0-100: for (int i=0;i<5;i++) print rand100() output: 14 75 36 22 67 but also randomly access any random value like: rand100(0) would output 14 as long as you didn't change the seed rand100(3) would always output 22 rand100(4) would always output 67 and so on... I've actually found an open-source generator algorithm that does this, but you cannot change the seed. I know that pseudorandomness is a complex field; I wouldn't know how to alter it to add that functionality. Is there a seedable random access random number generator, preferably open source? or is there a better term for this I can google for more information? if not, part 2 of my question would be, is there any reliably random open source conventional seedable pseudorandom number generator so I could port it to multiple platforms/languages while retaining a consistent sequence of values for each platform for any given seed?

  I have a method with the following signature: foo (Sample sample, Aliquot aliquot) "foo" needs to alter a Sample object, either the first argument or from the second argument it can extract its Sample. For example: foo (Sample sample, Aliquot aliquot) { Sample out = null; if (sample != null) out = sample else out = aliquot.getSample() return out; } But that is so un-elegant, other than reading the API a developer does not know the reference of the first argument overrides the Sample of the second argument. Now, I could change "foo" to foo (SomeMagicalObject bar) where SomeMagicalObject is a tuple for Sample and Aliquot and holds some logic ... etc. But I am wondering, are there some patterns for this question?

  This is a follow up to this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2930256/unique-responses-rails-gem I'm going to create an index based on the user id, url and a date type. I want date type (not datetime type) because I want the day, the 24 hour day to be part of the index to avoid duplication of page views counts on the same day. In other words: A view only counts once in a day by a visitor. I also want the default value of that column (viewdate) to be the function GETDATE(). This is what I have in my migration: execute "ALTER TABLEpage_viewsADD COLUMN viewdate datetime DEFAULTGETDATE()`" But the value viewdate is always empty. What am I missing? (as an aside, any other suggestions for accomplishing this goal?)

• Rails Unit Testing with MyISAM Tables

  I've got an application that requires the use of MyISAM on a few tables, but the rest are the traditional InnoDB type. The application itself is not concerned with transactions where it applies to these records, but performance is a concern. The Rails testing environment assumes the engine used is transactional, though, so when the test database is generated from the schema.rb it is imported with the same engine. Is it possible to over-ride this behaviour in a simple manner? I've resorted to an awful hack to ensure the tables are the correct type by appending this to test_helper.rb: (ActiveRecord::Base.connection.select_values("SHOW TABLES") - %w[ schema_info ]).each do |table_name| ActiveRecord::Base.connection.execute("ALTER TABLE `#{table_name}` ENGINE=InnoDB") end Is there a better way to make a MyISAM-backed model be testable?

  This questions is semi-based of this one here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/582336/how-can-you-profile-a-python-script I thought that this would be a great idea to run on some of my programs. Although profiling from a batch file as explained in the aforementioned answer is possible, I think it would be even better to have this option in Eclipse. At the same time, making my entire program a function and profiling it would mean I have to alter the source code? How can I configure eclipse such that I have the ability to run the profile command on my existing programs? Any tips or suggestions are welcomed!

  Problem Statement I'm writing a very basic WPF application to alter the contents of a configuration file. The data format is an XML file with a schema. I want to use it as a learning project for MVVM, so I have duly divided the code into Model: C# classes auto-generated from xsd.exe View-Model: View-friendly representation of the Model. View: Xaml and empty code behind I understand how the View-Model can make View-binding a breeze. However, doesn't that leave the View-Model <- Model semantics very awkward? Xsd.exe generates C# classes with arrays for multiple XML elements. However, at the V-VM level you need Observable Collections. Questions: Does this really mean I have to keep two completely different collection types representing the same data in coherence? What are the best practices for maintaining coherence between the Model and the View-Model?

  Hello, Here's how the situation looks : I have a couple simple forms <form action='settings.php' method='post'> <input type='hidden' name='setting' value='value1'> <input type='submit' value='Value1'> </form> Other small forms close to it have value2, value3, ... for the specific setting1, etc. Now, I have all these forms placed on the settings.php subpage, but I'd also like to have copies of one or two of them on the index.php subpage (for ease of access, as they are in certain situations rather frequently used). Thing is I do not want those forms based on the index.php to redirect me in any way to settings.php, just post the hidden value to alter settings and that's all. How can I do this with JS ? Cheers

  (using Python-Sphinx Documentation tool) I have a .txt log file I'd like to build into _build/html unaltered. What do I need to alter in conf.py, index.rst, etc. Here is the layout: src/ index.rst some_doc.rst somefile.txt How do I get somefile.txt into the html build? I tried adding a line like this to index.rst: Contents: .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 some_doc "somefile.txt" hoping it would work by magic, but no magic here! Assuming this is even possible, what would I put in some_doc.rst to refer/link to that file? Note Yes, I'm aware I could put it in /static and just be done with it, but that seems like a total hack, and ugly.

I added a simple .htaccess with this simple code (I know this would require more code in .htaccess but it's just a test). RewriteEngine on RewriteRule .* index.php [NC,L] When I try : http://127.0.0.1:8888/website/folder/fileDoesntExistMustGoIndex I have an "Object not found 404" error and the access.log display: 127.0.0.1 - - [13/Mar/2010:13:48:31 -0500] "GET /website/folder/fileDoesntExistMustGoIndexHTTP/1.1" 404 1118 I have check the httpd.conf and I see nothing that could alter this .htaccess statement. • Where is the default language data stored in OS 10.6

  From a shell in 10.4 or 10.5, I was able to do this: /usr/bin/defaults read NSGlobalDomain AppleLanguages To get the list of the language preference for that particular machine. This was done so that I could restore it back to that list after changing it with the 'defaults write' command to something else (in order to help automate l10n testing). Now, along comes OS 10.6, and AppleLanguages is nowhere in any of our defaults domains. I know that I can alter it for each running application by altering their specific property lists...but at the cost of more complexity. Also, some of the apps I have under test here are installer packages...and It's a real pain to change stuff (like the .plist I'd have to change here) in those without being somewhat destructive; that's why I chose to do it globally in the first place. Anyways, it'd be great if I could find where they stashed it now...or if they deprecated it (like a zillion other things in OS 10.6) completely.

The final step is actually installing Wordpress, which usually involves pointing your browser to install.php and filling out a form in the GUI.   What is the most elegant (or least ugly) way of using typed constants in a case statement in Delphi? That is, assume for this question that you need to declare a typed constant as in const MY_CONST: cardinal = $12345678; ... Then the Delphi compiler will not accept case MyExpression of MY_CONST: { Do Something }; ... end; but you need to write case MyExpression of $12345678: { Do Something }; ... end; which is error-prone, hard to update, and not elegant. Is there any trick you can employ to make the compiler insert the value of the constant (preferably by checking the value of the constant under const in the source code, but maybe by looking-up the value at runtime)? We assume here that you will not alter the value of the "constant" at runtime.

  Here is my original query: $query = mysql_query("SELECT s.*, UNIX_TIMESTAMP(`date`) AS `date`, f.userid as favoritehash FROM songs s LEFT JOIN favorites f ON f.favorite = s.id AND f.userid = '$userhash' ORDER BY s.date DESC"); This returns all the songs in my DB and then joins data from my favorites table so I can display wich items a return visitors has clicked as favorites or not. Visitors are recognized by a unique has storred in a cookie and in the favorites table. I need to alter this query so that I can get just the last months worth of songs. • Properly trimming PCM data from a ByteArray

  I have a situation where I need to trim a small amount of audio from the beginning of a recorded clip (generally somewhere between 110-150ms, it is an inconsistent amount). I'm recording in 44100 frequency and 16 bitrate. This is the code I'm using: public function get trimmedData():ByteArray { var ba:ByteArray = new ByteArray(); var bitPosition:uint = 44100 * 16 * (recordGap / 1000); bitPosition -= int(bitPosition % 16); //should keep snapped to nearest sample, I hope ba.writeBytes(_rawData, (bitPosition / 8)); return ba; } This seems to work time-wise, but all the recorded audio gets staticy and gross. Is something off about my rounding? This is the first time I've needed to alter raw PCM data so I'm not sure about the finer details of it. Thanks!

  We have a need to fit database in 4G in order to use ms sql express edition. I started from 7G database, and found a lot of not needed records, and deleted them. After Shrink database size is 4.6G, and 748MB is free (according to database properties). However, when i execute exec sp_spaceused i am having interesting results: DatabaseName Database_size unallocation space xxxxxx 4726.50 MB 765.42 MB Reserved Data index_size unused 3899472 KB 1608776 KB 1448400 KB 842296 KB Any ideas, how can i bite at least some of this unused space? Also I know table, which occupied it. update: is it worth to try to rebuild table indexes? ALTER INDEX ALL ON Production.Product REBUILD

  Hi. In the "Regular Expression Editor" dialog in VS 2008 ( or 2005 for this matter ) , there is a list of "standard expressions" like : "French phone number" , "French postal code" etc.. And of course there is an option to select a "Custom" and then enter your own regular expression. Well.. I want to add a predefined expressions to that list . Like : "Israeli phone number" . I don't want to enter it every time by selecting a custom value . I want my developers in the team available items for them to choose. Anyone knows how to alter that list ? I've found some question about it on the web - and the answer given is that it's not possible . But that was at 2004. Anyone ?!?! Thanks.

  The excel spreadsheet is connecting to SQL server 2005 using the connection string below: Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=True;Initial Catalog=XXXXXX;Data Source=XXXXXX;Extended Properties="HDR=No";Use Procedure for Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Workstation ID=XXXXXX;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when possible=False It then pulls data from a view into Excel. The business user wants this information without a header row. This will allow her to review then save as a "headless" csv in SAGE file format. I attempted to alter the connection string by adding HDR=No but that hasn't worked. Additionally, I can't delete the header row. Deleting the content replaces the column names with "Column 1" etc. Any ideas appreciated!
