  • In Varnish, how can I read the Set-Cookie response header?

    - by Adam Friedman
    I am trying to detect if my application has set a cookie that holds an "alert message" for the user on the next page, where the Javascript displays it if detected. In my vcl_fetch(), I need to detect if the specific cookie value "alert_message" appears anywhere in the Set-Cookie header (presumably in the VCL variable beresp.http.Set-Cookie). If detected, then I do not want to cache that next page (since Varnish strips the Set-Cookie header by default, which would obliterate the alert message before it makes it back to the browser). So here is my simple test: if(beresp.http.Set-Cookie ~ "alert_message") { set req.http.no_cache = 1; } Strangely, it fails to evaluate to true. So I throw the variable into the Server header to see what it looks like: set beresp.http.Server = " MyApp Varnish implementation - test reading set-cookie: "+beresp.http.Set-Cookie; But for some reason this only displays the FIRST Set-Cookie line in the response headers. Here are the relevant response headers: Server: MyApp Varnish implementation - test reading cookie: elstats_session=7d7279kjmsnkel31lre3s0vu24; expires=Wed, 10-Oct-2012 00:03:32 GMT; path=/; HttpOnly Set-Cookie:app_session=7d7279kjmsnkel31lre3s0vu24; expires=Wed, 10-Oct-2012 00:03:32 GMT; path=/; HttpOnly Set-Cookie:alert_message=Too+many+results.; expires=Tue, 09-Oct-2012 20:13:32 GMT; path=/; domain=.my.app.com Set-Cookie:alert_key=flash_error; expires=Tue, 09-Oct-2012 20:13:32 GMT; path=/; domain=.my.app.com Vary:Accept-Encoding How do I read and run string detection on ALL Set-Cookie header lines?

  • What headers do I want to send together with a 304 response?

    - by Willem
    When I send a 304 response. How will the browser interpret other headers which I send together with the 304? E.g. header("HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified"); header("Expires: " . gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s", time() + $offset) . " GMT"); Will this make sure the browser will not send another conditional GET request (nor any request) until $offset time has "run out"? Also, what about other headers? Should I send headers like this together with the 304: header('Content-Type: text/html'); Do I have to send: header("Last-Modified:" . $modified); header('Etag: ' . $etag); To make sure the browser sends a conditional GET request the next time the $offset has "run out" or does it simply save the old Last Modified and Etag values? Are there other things I should be aware about when sending a 304 response header?

  • how can i make sure to get the server response correctly when i invoke the server with QNetworkReque

    - by noname
    I wrote the server site call in Qt, but i haven't get the server response for every server invoking. I have to use the server reply to continue the program flow. The request is correctly reached to server and server do reply.The server is also on my machine. Here is the code how i make the server site call; QNetworkAccessManager nam1 = new QNetworkAccessManager(this); qnetmg=nam1; QObject::connect(nam1, SIGNAL(finished(QNetworkReply*)),this,SLOT(finishedGettingMarker(QNetworkReply*))); QString strurl="http://localhost:8080/ServerWeb"; QUrl url(strurl); QNetworkRequest preq(url); QNetworkReply* reply = nam1->get(preq); qreply=reply; Inside finisedGettingMarker slot, i have already eliminate for QNetworkReply-error case and i used one global variable for QNetworkAccessManager;"qnetmg" and one global variable for QNetworkReply;"qreply". And also i make qnetmg.disconnect(this,0); and qreply.abort(); inside that slot method. But the problem is i haven't got the response for every server invoking time. If anyone who know the way to solve it , please reply me. This situation happened only in Opera. Thanks in advance.

  • How to get a nicely formatted PHP Web Service response?

    - by Bruno
    I called an API like this: $service = new Class_Service(); $parameters = new GetClasses(); $parameters->Request = new GetClassesRequest(); $parameters->Request->SourceCredentials = new SourceCredentials(); $parameters->Request->SourceCredentials->SourceName = "Name"; $parameters->Request->SourceCredentials->Password = "Pass"; $parameters->Request->SourceCredentials->SiteIDs = array( 12 ); $classes = $service->GetClasses($parameters); var_dump($classes); And received a response like this: object(GetClassesResponse)#7 (1) { ["GetClassesResult"]=> object(GetClassesResult)#8 (6 { ["Classes"]=> object(stdClass)#9 (1) { ["Class"]=> array(25) { [0]=> object(Mi_Class)#10 (21) { ["ClassScheduleID"]=> int(15) ["Visits"]=> NULL ["Clients"]=> NULL ["Location"]=> object(Location)#11 (30) { ["BusinessID"]=> NULL ["SiteID"]=> int(12) ["BusinessDescription"]=> NULL ["AdditionalImageURLs"]=> object(stdClass)#12 (0) { } ["FacilitySquareFeet"]=> NULL Does a response normally look like this? How do I go about getting the data in a formatted manner?

  • How do I deal with different requests that map to the same response?

    - by daxim
    I'm designing a Web service. The request is idempotent, so I chose the GET method. The response is relatively expensive to calculate and not small, so I want to get caching (on the protocol level) right. (Don't worry about memoisation at my part, I have that already covered; my question here is actually also paying attention to the Web as a whole.) There's only one mandatory parameter and a number of optional parameter with default values if missing. For example, the following two map to the same representation of the response. (If this is a dumb way to go about it the interface, propose something better.) GET /service?mandatory_parameter=some_data HTTP/1.1 GET /service?mandatory_parameter=some_data;optional_parameter=default1;another_optional_parameter=default2;yet_another_optional_parameter=default3 HTTP/1.1 However, I imagine clients do not know this and would treat them separate and therefore waste cache storage. What should I do to avoid violating the golden rule of caching? Make up a canonical form, document it (e.g. all parameters are required after all and need to be sorted in a specific order) and return a client error unless the required form is met? Instead of an error, redirect permanently to the canonical form of a request? Or is it enough to not mind how the request looks like, and just respond with the same ETag for same responses?

  • CakePHP sending multiple lines of same cookie information in response header. why??

    - by Vicer
    Hi all, I am having this problem with one of my cakePHP applications. My application displays a big html table on the page. I noticed that when the table goes beyond a certain size limit, IE cannot display that page. While trying to figure out why this happens, I noticed that my html response header contains a HUGE number of lines repeating the same thing. Response Headers ------------------------------ Date Thu, 20 May 2010 04:18:10 GMT Server Apache/2.0.63 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.7m PHP/5.2.10 X-Powered-By PHP/5.2.10 P3P CP="NOI ADM DEV PSAi COM NAV OUR OTRo STP IND DEM" Set-Cookie CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:12 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1; expires=Sun, 20-May-2035 10:18:13 GMT; path=/mywebapp Keep-Alive timeout=15, max=100 Connection Keep-Alive Transfer-Encoding chunked Content-Type text/html ========================================================================== Request Headers -------------------------- Host localhost:8080 User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding gzip,deflate Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive 115 Connection keep-alive Referer http://localhost:8080/mywebapp/section2/bigtable/1 Cookie CAKEPHP=q4tp37tn9gkhcpgmf1ftr1i6c1 Authorization Basic cGt1bWFyYTpwa3VtYXJh Notice the huge set of repeated lines at 'Set-Cookie' in the Response Header.   • WCF fails to deserialize correct(?) response message security headers (Security header is empty)

    - by Soeteman
    I'm communicating with an OC4J webservice, using a WCF client. The client is configured as follows: <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="MyBinding"> <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential"> <transport clientCredentialType="None" proxyCredentialType="None" realm=""/> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" algorithmSuite="Default"/> </security> </binding> My clientcode looks as follows: ServicePointManager.CertificatePolicy = new AcceptAllCertificatePolicy(); string username = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["user"]; string password = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["pass"]; // client instance maken WebserviceClient client = new WebserviceClient(); client.Endpoint.Binding = new BasicHttpBinding("MyBinding"); // credentials toevoegen client.ClientCredentials.UserName.UserName = username; client.ClientCredentials.UserName.Password = password; //uitvoeren request var response = client.Ping(); I've altered the CertificatePolicy to accept all certificates, because I need to insert Charles (ssl proxy) in between client and server to intercept the actual Xml that is sent across te wire. • JSF2 - Why does render response not rerender component setting?

    From the tutorial: "If the request is a postback and errors were encountered during the apply request values phase, process validations phase, or update model values phase, the original page is rendered during Render response phase" (http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/bnaqq.html) Does it mean that if view is restored in "Restore View" phase and then any apply request/validation/update model phase fails and skips to "Render response" that Render response only passes restored view without any changes to client? - by user1850936
    I am developing an app with eclipse. I tried to store the data that key in by user into database in phpmyadmin. Unfortunately, after the user has clicked on submit button, there is no response and data is not stored in my database. Here is my java file: import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import org.apache.http.NameValuePair; import org.apache.http.message.BasicNameValuePair; import org.json.JSONObject; import android.app.Activity; import android.app.AlertDialog; import android.content.DialogInterface; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.util.Log; import android.view.View; import android.widget.Button; import android.widget.EditText; import android.widget.RadioButton; import android.content.res.Configuration; public class UserRegister extends Activity { JSONParser jsonParser = new JSONParser(); EditText inputName; EditText inputUsername; EditText inputEmail; EditText inputPassword; RadioButton button1; RadioButton button2; Button button3; int success = 0; private static String url_register_user = "http://10.20.92.81/database/add_user.php"; private static final String TAG_SUCCESS = "success"; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_user_register); inputName = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.nameTextBox); inputUsername = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.usernameTextBox); inputEmail = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.emailTextBox); inputPassword = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.pwTextBox); Button button3 = (Button) findViewById(R.id.regSubmitButton); button3.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { String name = inputName.getText().toString(); String username = inputUsername.getText().toString(); String email = inputEmail.getText().toString(); String password = inputPassword.getText().toString(); if (name.contentEquals("")||username.contentEquals("")||email.contentEquals("")||password.contentEquals("")) { AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(UserRegister.this); builder.setMessage(R.string.nullAlert) .setTitle(R.string.alertTitle); builder.setPositiveButton(R.string.ok, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) { } }); AlertDialog dialog = builder.show(); } // creating new product in background thread RegisterNewUser(); } }); } public void RegisterNewUser() { try { String name = inputName.getText().toString(); String username = inputUsername.getText().toString(); String email = inputEmail.getText().toString(); String password = inputPassword.getText().toString(); // Building Parameters List<NameValuePair> params = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(); params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("name", name)); params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("username", username)); params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("email", email)); params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("password", password)); // getting JSON Object // Note that create product url accepts POST method JSONObject json = jsonParser.makeHttpRequest(url_register_user, "GET", params); // check log cat for response Log.d("Send Notification", json.toString()); success = json.getInt(TAG_SUCCESS); if (success == 1) { // successfully created product Intent i = new Intent(getApplicationContext(), StudentLogin.class); startActivity(i); finish(); } else { // failed to register } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } @Override public void onConfigurationChanged(Configuration newConfig) { super.onConfigurationChanged(newConfig); } } my php file: <?php $response = array(); require_once __DIR__ .   • Java Cloud Service Integration to REST Service

    - by Jani Rautiainen
    Service (JCS) provides a platform to develop and deploy business applications in the cloud. In Fusion Applications Cloud deployments customers do not have the option to deploy custom applications developed with JDeveloper to ensure the integrity and supportability of the hosted application service. Instead the custom applications can be deployed to the JCS and integrated to the Fusion Application Cloud instance. This series of articles will go through the features of JCS, provide end-to-end examples on how to develop and deploy applications on JCS and how to integrate them with the Fusion Applications instance. In this article a custom application integrating with REST service will be implemented. We will use REST services provided by Taleo as an example; however the same approach will work with any REST service. In this example the data from the REST service is used to populate a dynamic table. Pre-requisites Access to Cloud instance In order to deploy the application access to a JCS instance is needed, a free trial JCS instance can be obtained from Oracle Cloud site. To register you will need a credit card even if the credit card will not be charged. To register simply click "Try it" and choose the "Java" option. The confirmation email will contain the connection details. See this video for example of the registration.Once the request is processed you will be assigned 2 service instances; Java and Database. Applications deployed to the JCS must use Oracle Database Cloud Service as their underlying database. So when JCS instance is created a database instance is associated with it using a JDBC data source.The cloud services can be monitored and managed through the web UI. For details refer to Getting Started with Oracle Cloud. JDeveloper JDeveloper contains Cloud specific features related to e.g. connection and deployment. To use these features download the JDeveloper from JDeveloper download site by clicking the "Download JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.1 for ADF deployment on Oracle Cloud" link, this version of JDeveloper will have the JCS integration features that will be used in this article. For versions that do not include the Cloud integration features the Oracle Java Cloud Service SDK or the JCS Java Console can be used for deployment. For details on installing and configuring the JDeveloper refer to the installation guideFor details on SDK refer to Using the Command-Line Interface to Monitor Oracle Java Cloud Service and Using the Command-Line Interface to Manage Oracle Java Cloud Service. Access to a local database The database associated with the JCS instance cannot be connected to with JDBC.  Since creating ADFbc business component requires a JDBC connection we will need access to a local database. 3rd party libraries This example will use some 3rd party libraries for implementing the REST service call and processing the input / output content. Other libraries may also be used, however these are tested to work. Jersey 1.x Jersey library will be used as a client to make the call to the REST service. JCS documentation for supported specifications states: Java API for RESTful Web Services (JAX-RS) 1.1 So Jersey 1.x will be used. Download the single-JAR Jersey bundle; in this example Jersey 1.18 JAR bundle is used. Json-simple Jjson-simple library will be used to process the json objects. Download the  JAR file; in this example json-simple-1.1.1.jar is used. Accessing data in Taleo Before implementing the application it is beneficial to familiarize oneself with the data in Taleo. Easiest way to do this is by using a RESTClient on your browser. Once added to the browser you can access the UI: The client can be used to call the REST services to test the URLs and data before adding them into the application. First derive the base URL for the service this can be done with: Method: GET URL: https://tbe.taleo.net/MANAGER/dispatcher/api/v1/serviceUrl/<company name> The response will contain the base URL to be used for the service calls for the company. Next obtain authentication token with: Method: POST URL: https://ch.tbe.taleo.net/CH07/ats/api/v1/login?orgCode=<company>&userName=<user name>&password=<password> The response includes an authentication token that can be used for few hours to authenticate with the service: {   "response": {     "authToken": "webapi26419680747505890557"   },   "status": {     "detail": {},     "success": true   } } To authenticate the service calls navigate to "Headers -> Custom Header": And add a new request header with: Name: Cookie Value: authToken=webapi26419680747505890557 Once authentication token is defined the tool can be used to invoke REST services; for example: Method: GET URL: https://ch.tbe.taleo.net/CH07/ats/api/v1/object/candidate/search.xml?status=16 This data will be used on the application to be created. For details on the Taleo REST services refer to the Taleo Business Edition REST API Guide. Create Application First Fusion Web Application is created and configured. Start JDeveloper and click "New Application": Application Name: JcsRestDemo Application Package Prefix: oracle.apps.jcs.test Application Template: Fusion Web Application (ADF) Configure Local Cloud Connection Follow the steps documented in the "Java Cloud Service ADF Web Application" article to configure a local database connection needed to create the ADFbc objects. Configure Libraries Add the 3rd party libraries into the class path. Create the following directory and copy the jar files into it: <JDEV_USER_HOME>/JcsRestDemo/lib  Select the "Model" project, navigate "Application -> Project Properties -> Libraries and Classpath -> Add JAR / Directory" and add the 2 3rd party libraries: Accessing Data from Taleo To access data from Taleo using the REST service the 3rd party libraries will be used. 2 Java classes are implemented, one representing the Candidate object and another for accessing the Taleo repository Candidate Candidate object is a POJO object used to represent the candidate data obtained from the Taleo repository. The data obtained will be used to populate the ADFbc object used to display the data on the UI. The candidate object contains simply the variables we obtain using the REST services and the getters / setters for them: Navigate "New -> General -> Java -> Java Class", enter "Candidate" as the name and create it in the package "oracle.apps.jcs.test.model".  Copy / paste the following as the content: import oracle.jbo.domain.Number; public class Candidate { private Number candId; private String firstName; private String lastName; public Candidate() { super(); } public Candidate(Number candId, String firstName, String lastName) { super(); this.candId = candId; this.firstName = firstName; this.lastName = lastName; } public void setCandId(Number candId) { this.candId = candId; } public Number getCandId() { return candId; } public void setFirstName(String firstName) { this.firstName = firstName; } public String getFirstName() { return firstName; } public void setLastName(String lastName) { this.lastName = lastName; } public String getLastName() { return lastName; } } Taleo Repository Taleo repository class will interact with the Taleo REST services. The logic will query data from Taleo and populate Candidate objects with the data. The Candidate object will then be used to populate the ADFbc object used to display data on the UI. Navigate "New -> General -> Java -> Java Class", enter "TaleoRepository" as the name and create it in the package "oracle.apps.jcs.test.model".  Copy / paste the following as the content (for details of the implementation refer to the documentation in the code): import com.sun.jersey.api.client.Client; import com.sun.jersey.api.client.ClientResponse; import com.sun.jersey.api.client.WebResource; import com.sun.jersey.core.util.MultivaluedMapImpl; import java.io.StringReader; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Iterator; import java.util.List; import java.util.Map; import javax.ws.rs.core.MediaType; import javax.ws.rs.core.MultivaluedMap; import oracle.jbo.domain.Number; import org.json.simple.JSONArray; import org.json.simple.JSONObject; import org.json.simple.parser.JSONParser; /** * This class interacts with the Taleo REST services */ public class TaleoRepository { /** * Connection information needed to access the Taleo services */ String _company = null; String _userName = null; String _password = null; /** * Jersey client used to access the REST services */ Client _client = null; /** * Parser for processing the JSON objects used as * input / output for the services */ JSONParser _parser = null; /** * The base url for constructing the REST URLs. For this example we will create a "Transient" view object that will be programmatically populated based the data obtained from Taleo REST services. Creating ADFbc objects Choose the "Model" project and navigate "New -> Business Tier : ADF Business Components : View Object". On the "Initialize Business Components Project" choose the local database connection created in previous step. On Step 1 enter "JcsRestDemoVO" on the "Name" and choose "Rows populated programmatically, not based on query": On step 2 create the following attributes: CandId Type: Number Updatable: Always Key Attribute: checked Name Type: String Updatable: Always On steps 3 and 4 accept defaults and click "Next".  On step 5 check the "Application Module" checkbox and enter "JcsRestDemoAM" as the name: Click "Finish" to generate the objects. Populating the VO To display the data on the UI the "transient VO" is populated programmatically based on the data obtained from the Taleo REST services. Open the "JcsRestDemoVOImpl.java". Copy / paste the following as the content (for details of the implementation refer to the documentation in the code): import java.sql.ResultSet; import java.util.List; import java.util.ListIterator; import oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl; import oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowImpl; import oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowSetImpl; // --------------------------------------------------------------------- // --- File generated by Oracle ADF Business Components Design Time. // --- Tue Feb 18 09:40:25 PST 2014 // --- Custom code may be added to this class. // --- Warning: Do not modify method signatures of generated methods. // --------------------------------------------------------------------- public class JcsRestDemoVOImpl extends ViewObjectImpl { /** * This is the default constructor (do not remove). */ public JcsRestDemoVOImpl() { } @Override public void executeQuery() { /** * For some reason we need to reset everything, otherwise * 2nd entry to the UI screen may fail with * "java.util.NoSuchElementException" in createRowFromResultSet * call to "candidates.next()". On the "Create JSF Page" enter "JcsRestDemo" as name and ensure that the "Create as XML document (*.jspx)" is checked.  Open "JcsRestDemo.jspx" and navigate to "Data Controls -> JcsRestDemoAMDataControl -> JcsRestDemoVO1" and drag & drop the VO to the "<af:form> " as a "ADF Read-only Table": Accept the defaults in "Edit Table Columns". To execute the query navigate to to "Data Controls -> JcsRestDemoAMDataControl -> JcsRestDemoVO1 -> Operations -> Execute" and drag & drop the operation to the "<af:form> " as a "Button": Deploying to JCS Follow the same steps as documented in previous article"Java Cloud Service ADF Web Application". Once deployed the application can be accessed with URL: https://java-[identity domain].java.[data center].oraclecloudapps.com/JcsRestDemo-ViewController-context-root/faces/JcsRestDemo.jspx The UI displays a list of candidates obtained from the Taleo REST Services: Summary In this article we learned how to integrate with REST services using Jersey library in JCS. In future articles various other integration techniques will be covered.

  • What's the proper response to WM_ENDSESSION with ENDSESSION_CLOSEAPP and wParam == FALSE?

    According to the WM_ENDESSION docs, when lParam is ENDSESSION_CLOSEAPP and wParam is FALSE, "the application should not shut down". So, should I just ignore that and use the default response? What is it's purpose? (I'm listening to Windows events/messages in Qt (C++) to shutdown some launched processes, but that's just the context and shouldn't have any bearing here...)
