  Using PHP, I have a query that goes through my DB looking for pending tasks with reminder triggers at certain times of the day. I have a cronjob that runs every 10 mins and checks the DB for any rows that has "remind_me" field set to go off within the next 10 mins. If it does find something, what's the best way to queue an email with the task information? I guess I'll need some sort of message queue system, but how does the email part work? Will I need another cronjob that runs every minute to check the queue system?

  I have implemented the ability to upload, download, delete, etc. using the FtpWebRequest class in C#. That is fairly straight forward. What I need to do now is support sending arbitrary ftp commands such as quote SITE LRECL=132 RECFM=FB or quote SYST Here's an example configuration straight from our app.config: <!-- The following commands will be executed before any uploads occur --> <extraCommands> <command>quote SITE LRECL=132 RECFM=FB</command> </extraCommands> I'm still researching how to do this using FtpWebRequest. I'll probably try WebClient class next. Anyone can point me in the right direction quicker? Thanks! UPDATE: I've come to that same conclusion, as of .NET Framework 3.5 FtpWebRequest doesn't support anything except what's in WebRequestMethods.Ftp.*. I'll try a third party app recommended by some of the other posts. Thanks for the help!

• [Java] Send cookie with http request problem

  I'm trying to get a certain cookie in a java client by creating a series of Http requests. It looks like I'm getting a valid cookie from the server but when I'm sending out a request to the fnal url with the seemingly valid cookie I should get some lines of xml in the response but the response is blank because the cookie isw rong or is invalidated because a session has closed or an other problem which I can't figure out. The cookie handed out by the server expires at the end of the session. It seems to me the cookie is valid because when I do the same calls in firefox, a similar cookie with the same name and starting with the 3 first same letters and of the same length is stored in firefox, also expiring at the end of the session. If I then make a request to the final url with only this particular cookie stored in firefox (removed all other cookies), the xml is nicely rendered on the page. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong in this piece of code?   I had written a Web Service to return a DataSet back to my ASP.Net site and this was working fine. However due to security issues and also the ability to get certain references installed, I have to move this to an App Server and so doing it as a Windows Service and communicating with the ASP.Net site now via sockets. Is there a way I can easily give the Website a serialized DataSet via Sockets from my App Server so I can read this in and then just carry on using the code I currently have to bind this to a GridView?

  Hello, my question is quite simple: Our C# application has one MainForm with a menu and several keyboard shortcuts associated with the menu entries. Now we need to trigger the menu entries from some child forms too. But since the MainForm is inactive when one of the child forms is active, the shortcuts do not work. Is there a simple way to propagate all keyboard events from the child form to the 'Owner' form? Or just to another form in general? Ah, and we cannot use some low level windows stuff, because we need to run the application on Mono/Linux too.

  Hey, Im trying to write a program that would be listening for data (simple text messages) on some port (say tcp 6666) and then pass them to one or more different protocols - irc, xmpp and so on. I've tried many approaches and digged the Internet, but I cant find easy and working solution for such task. The code I am currently fighting with is here: http://pastebin.com/ri7caXih I would like to know how to from object like: ircf = ircFactory('asdfasdf', '#asdf666') get access to self protocol methods, because this: self.protocol.dupa1(msg) returns error about self not being passed to active protocol object. Or maybe there is other, better, easier and more kosher way to create single reactor with multiple protocols and have actions triggeres when a message arrives on any of them, and then pass that message to other protocols for handling/processing/sending? Any help will be highly appreciated!

  I have created one application on iPhone. I build an application that gather accelerometer value and pass this value to c# server in realtime via wifi connection. I use NSStream with IP and port number. I was working perfectly, but now I realize that it stops after fetch value only 248 lines. I tried to write this value in text file locally on iPhone. I can obtain more than 260 lines of data. Therefore, I suspect that it has some limitation or other problems on NSStream of wifi connection.

  Hi there, Just wanting to know if anybody has seen an example of a telnet/chat or other console like FLEX application where you can use the same TextArea as input/ouput area. I've been trying to modify the app at: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/17_Networking_and_communications_8.html but so far, computer says no. All the implementations I've seen use a combination of TextInput and TextArea. The challenge is that we'll be using this app to telnet into some old routers and we'll need to do a fair amount of copy/pasting. Based on what I've seen, it seems that I would need to point the mouse into the TextInput in order to be able to right click and paste, which is not very sleak..... Your thoughts, Fran
