• Turning user ID into name (seperate tables) in PHP

  I am currently trying to display the username of people who i am following, the problem is that during the following process, only the ID of me and the person i'm following is stored. I've got it to the point where the ID's are displayed but i'd like to show the names hyperlinked. $p_id is the profile ID. Here's what I've got: $following = mysql_query("SELECT `follower`, `followed` FROM user_follow WHERE follower=$p_id"); I am following: <?php while($apple = mysql_fetch_array($following)){ echo '<a href="'.$apple['followed'].'">+'.$apple['followed'].'</a> '; }?> The usernames are in a different table "users" under the field "username" - I need them to match up with the ID's that are currently displayed, and be displayed. • can I change my open ID URL change?

  I wanted to know if I can change my open ID url from say: www.abc.com/username to www.pqr.com/username while the relying party still thinks I am the same user? or even say: www.abc.com/something/username to www.abc.com/somethingelse/username I intuitively think that this is not possible since if it were, then it is possible for anyone to spoof anyone else's identity. Also, does Open ID specify which fields the relying party should use to ensure secure determination of the user's identity? For example, I would expect it to club the URL provided with the username/email address sent back by the Open ID server.

  Hi, I am using a jquery contextmenu plugin for right click menus which I am trying to add to each li element of an unordered list with the ID mailbox. The code I have is: $("#mailbox > li").contextMenu('myMenu1', { bindings: { 'open': function(t) { alert('Trigger was '+t.id+'\nAction was Open'); } //CODE SNIPPED }); My assumption is that this should alert the id of the list element that the contextMenu was called from, however it is returning an empty string. • Encrypted ID in URLs

  I am trying to hash or encrypt a record's ID for URL's such that people can't view various records simply by guessing different integer ID's. Essentially, my URL's would be something like this: /plans/0AUTxwoGkOYfiZGd2 instead of /plans/304. Would the best way to do this just be to use SHA-1 to hash the plan's id and store it in a hashed_id column for plans? Then, overwrite to_param and add a finder to find by hashed_id? How do you ensure that the characters generated are 0-9, a-z, or A-Z? Thanks!

• How to keep only duplicates efficiently?

  Given an STL vector, I'd like an algorithm that outputs only the duplicates in sorted order, e.g., INPUT : { 4, 4, 1, 2, 3, 2, 3 } OUTPUT: { 2, 3, 4 } The algorithm is trivial, but the goal is to make it as efficient as std::unique(). • Adding <span> tags to all text nodes between custom self closing tags.

  I have a pair of custom self closing tags s1 and s2 defined in namespace x in my xhtml. For each tag pair s1, s2 having the same id, I want to add span tags to all the text nodes between them. Each s1, s2 tag pair have a unique id. The s1 tag has an attribute 'styleName' which needs to be copied as the class name for the span tags populated for the s1,s2 pair. Within a s1, s2 tag pair, other s1, s2 tags can occur. It is the id attribute of the tags s1 and s2 that help us to find the postion from where we need to start populating the span(for text nodes alone) and the end where we need to stop. In case of common text nodes that is part of the multiple s1, s2 pairs then the span tags needs to be opened and closed appropirately as shown in the sample below. I am not specific with the format of the id populated for the span tag. As long as it is unique it is fine. Can we achieve this kind of a solution using XSL. I am looking for a XSL based solution for the same. I am using Saxon java processor for XSL. I am trying to achieve this using XSL 2.0. Please share your ideas on this. • How do I know which Object I clicked?

  Here's the deal: I'm working on a personal portfolio in AS3 and I've run into a problem which I can't seem to find a logical answer to. I want everything (well, most of it) to be editable with an XML file, including my menu. My menu is just a Sprite with some text on it and a Tweener-tween, no big deal. But, I forgot to think of a way how I can determine which menu-item I have clicked. This is in my Main.as private function xmlLoaded(e:Event):void { xml = e.target.xml; menu = new Menu(xml); menu.x = 0; menu.y = stage.stageHeight / 2 - menu.height / 2; addChild(menu); } In Menu.as public function Menu(xml:XML) { for each (var eachMenuItem:XML in xml.menu.item) { menuItem = new MenuItem(eachMenuItem); menuItem.y += yPos; addChild(menuItem); yPos += menuItem.height + 3; } } and in my MenuItem.as, everything works - I have a fancy tween when I hover over it, but when I click a menu-item, I want something to appear ofcourse. How do I know which one I clicked? I've tried with pushing everything in an array, but that didn't work out well (or maybe I'm doing it wrong). Also tried a global counter, but that's not working either because the value will always be amount of items in my XML file. Also tried e.currentTarget in my click-function, but when I trace that, all of them are "Object Sprite".. I need something so I can give each a unique "name"? Thanks in advance!

• Synergy 1.4.2 Linux server, OSX client, Media/Function key mapping issues

  I'm using an Apple bluetooth keybord to control my Linux synergy server. SSH tunneling, Mouse, Keyboard, and Copy&Paste all work. Linux sees all the media/app keys that are on top of the F# keys correctly. However if I press any of those keys while controlling my OSX client, nothing happens on the client. Running synergys with -d DEBUG1 I can see the following keycode info: Pressing the "dim monitor" key that also serves as F1 generates: new mask: 0x2000 event: KeyPress code=232, state=0x0010 new mask: 0x2000 If I press "fn" and the same key, I can see it sending what I'm assuming is an F1: event: KeyPress code=67, state=0x0010 onKeyDown id=61374 mask=0x2000 button=0x0043 send key down to "foo.cisco.com" id=61374, mask=0x2000, button=0x0043 new mask: 0x2000 event: KeyRelease code=67, state=0x0010 onKeyUp id=61374 mask=0x2000 button=0x0043 send key up to "foo.cisco.com" id=61374, mask=0x2000, button=0x0043 I'm guessing I need to tweak my synergy.conf so that the server sends keys that it currently isn't. I'm also not sure what I need to do to tweak the keys that it is sending, but are not working. Below are all the other keys I'm having issues with. • Fastest way to compute a "Visual" checksum of an image

  I'm looking to create an ID system for cataloging images. I can't use md5() since that will change if I alter the EXIF tags of the image. I am currently using the SHA1 checksum computed by imagemagick. It works perfectly, but it's really, really slow on larger images (~15 seconds on a quad-core xeon for a 21 megapixel JPG). Are there any other "visual" methods of uniquely identifying an image that would be faster? Thank you.

  I'm making a partial overlay modal in my app with the code from “Semi-Modal (Transparent) Dialogs on the iPhone” at ramin.firoozye.com. In doing so, the button that calls the modal is still visible and clickable. I will hide this button when the modal spawns, but I want to be sure if the user clicks very quickly twice, a new modal doesn't come up for each click. What is the best way to check that the modal doesn't already exist when calling it from the button click? You can download the test project here. I'm using Coredata in my app, on first launch I download a data file and insert over 500 objects (each with 60 attributes) - fast, no problem. Each subsequent launch I download an updated version of the file, from which I need to update all existing objects' attributes (except maybe 5 attributes) and create new ones for items which have been added to the downloaded file. So, first launch I get 500 objects.. say a week later my file now contains 507 items.. I create two arrays, one for existing and one for downloaded. It would be better to finesse the specific target OSD notification to cancel, by using org.freedesktop.Notifications.CloseNotification(uint id). Is there an interface method that can put this on (in?) the DBus to fire when a particular notify event occurs? The method will need to get the notify PID to use as the argument for CloseNotification(uint id). Alternatively, qdbus org.freedesktop.Notifications \ /org/freedesktop/Notifications \ org.freedesktop.Notifications.CloseNotification(uint id) could be used from the shell, if the (uint id) argument could be determined. The actual command syntax would use an integer in place of (uint id). Perhaps a better question to ask first might be "How is the DBus address for a notification found?". In hindsight the previous question "How is the (uint id) for a notification found?" is rhetorical!
