  • Using JuJu with private Openstack cloud deployment?

    - by user76054
    I'm seeing a number of problems trying to use JuJu with our internally deployed Openstack cloud. Most of this appears to be centered around DNS host resolution as well as the need to deal with our company's internal HTTP proxies. Our Openstack deployment relies upon an unroutable 172.16.0.0/12 block of addresses for VLAN allocation to each project (tenant) hosted on our internal cloud. User's have the option of assigning one or more floating addresses to instances, allocated from a block of routable addresses on our internal companies LAN. Currently, Openstack doesn't register instance names with anything other than the DNSMASQ service running on the cloud controller. As such, there's no way to resolve this address through our internal DNS hierarchy (this issue has already been reported as Bug #945505). As such, even though I can bootstrap my JuJu server node, I can't connect to it with the JuJu client, since it can't resolve the local (private) network name. I am able to ssh to the node, once I've assigned it an internally routable (i.e. floating) address. Which leads to the next issue. Next, to install software on an instance running in our cloud, it must have our internal proxy address defined - either in the apt.conf file or via environment variables. Unfortunately, when bootstrapping the server node, there's no provision to pass this info into a instance via JuJu environment.yaml file (if this is even the best way to handle this issue). As a result, the bootstrap node is unable to install the required packages. I'm assuming (dangerous, I know) that the way that I've deployed Openstack in our internal environment is probably not unique. Has anyone else encountered these issues? And more importantly, are work arounds available? Regards, Ross

  • How to implment the database for event conditions and item bonuses for a browser based game

    - by Saifis
    I am currently creating a browser based game, and was wondering what was the standard approach in making diverse conditions and status bonuses database wise. Currently considering two cases. Event Conditions Needs min 1000 gold Needs min Lv 10 Needs certain item. Needs fulfillment of another event Status Bonus Reduces damage by 20% +100 attack points Deflects certain type of attack I wish to be able to continually change these parameters during the process of production and operation, so having them hard-coded isn't the best way. All I could come up with are the following two methods. Method 1 Create a table that contains each conditions with needed attributes Have a model named conditions with all the attributes it would need to set them conditions condition_type (level, money_min, money_max item, event_aquired) condition_amount prerequisite_condition_id prerequisite_item_id Method 2 write it in a DSL form that could be interpreted later in the code Perhaps something like yaml, have a text area in the setting form and have the code interpret it. condition_foo: condition_type :level min_level: 10 condition_type :item item_id: 2 At current Method 2 looks to be more practical and flexible for future changes, trade off being that all the flex must be done on the code side. Not to sure how this is supposed to be done, is it supposed to be hard coded? separate config file? Any help would be appreciated. Added For additional info, it will be implemented with Ruby on Rails

  • problem with template inheritance

VS is compiling OK) template<class T> class A { public: T t; public: A(const T& t1) : t(t1) {} virtual void Print() const { cout<<*this<<endl;} friend ostream& operator<<(ostream& out, const A<T>& a) { out<<"I'm "<<typeid(a).name()<<endl; out<<"I hold "<<typeid(a.t).name()<<endl; out<<"The inner value is: "<<a.t<<endl; return out; } }; template<class T> class B : public A<T> { public: B(const T& t1) : A<T>(t1) {} const T& get() const { return t; } }; int main() { A<int> a(9); a.Print(); B<A<int> > b(a); b.Print(); (b.get()).Print(); return 0; } This code is giving the following error: main.cpp: In member function 'const T& B::get() const': main.cpp:23: error: 't' was not declared in this scope It did compiled when i changed the code of B to this: template<class T> class B : public A<T> { public: B(const T& t1) : A<T>(t1) {} const T& get() const { return A<T>::t; } }; I just cant understand what is the problem with the first code... It doesn't make sense that i really need to write "A::" every time...

  • OpenCV 2.4.2 on Matlab 2012b (Windows 7)

    - by Maik Xhani
    Hello i am trying to use OpenCV 2.4.2 in Matlab 2012b. I have tried those actions: downloaded OpenCV 2.4.2 used CMake on opencv folder using Visual Studio 10 and Visual Studio 10 Win64 compiler built Debug and Release version with Visual Studio first without any other option and then with D_SCL_SECURE=1 specified for every project changed Matlab's mexopts.bat and adding new lines refering to library and include (see bottom for mexopts.bat content) with Visual Studio 10 compiler tried to compile a simple file with a OpenCV library inclusion and all goes well. try to compile something that actually uses OpenCV commands and get errors. I used openmexopencv library and when tried to compile something i get this error cv.make mex -largeArrayDims -D_SECURE_SCL=1 -Iinclude -I"C:\OpenCV\build\include" -L"C:\OpenCV\build\x64\vc10\lib" -lopencv_calib3d242 -lopencv_contrib242 -lopencv_core242 -lopencv_features2d242 -lopencv_flann242 -lopencv_gpu242 -lopencv_haartraining_engine -lopencv_highgui242 -lopencv_imgproc242 -lopencv_legacy242 -lopencv_ml242 -lopencv_nonfree242 -lopencv_objdetect242 -lopencv_photo242 -lopencv_stitching242 -lopencv_ts242 -lopencv_video242 -lopencv_videostab242 src+cv\CamShift.cpp lib\MxArray.obj -output +cv\CamShift CamShift.cpp C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2012b\extern\include\tmwtypes.h(821) : warning C4091: 'typedef ': ignorato a sinistra di 'wchar_t' quando non si dichiara alcuna variabile c:\program files\matlab\r2012b\extern\include\matrix.h(319) : error C4430: identificatore di tipo mancante, verr… utilizzato int. • Simple thread-safe non-blocking file logger class in c#

    I have a web application, that will log some information to a file. I am looking for a simple thread-safe non-blocking file logger class in c#. I have little experience with threading. I known there are great logging components out there like log4Net, Enterprise Library Logging Block, ELMAH, but I do not want an external dependence for my application. I was thinking about using this queue implementation http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cpp/lockfreeq.aspx

  • Specialization of template after instantiation?

    - by Onur Cobanoglu
    Hi, My full code is too long, but here is a snippet that will reflect the essence of my problem: class BPCFGParser { public: ... ... class Edge { ... ... }; class ActiveEquivClass { ... ... }; class PassiveEquivClass { ... ... }; struct EqActiveEquivClass { ... ... }; struct EqPassiveEquivClass { ... ... }; unordered_map<ActiveEquivClass, Edge *, hash<ActiveEquivClass>, EqActiveEquivClass> discovered_active_edges; unordered_map<PassiveEquivClass, Edge *, hash<PassiveEquivClass>, EqPassiveEquivClass> discovered_passive_edges; }; namespace std { template <> class hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass> { public: size_t operator()(const BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass & aec) const { } }; template <> class hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass> { public: size_t operator()(const BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass & pec) const { } }; } When I compile this code, I get the following errors: In file included from BPCFGParser.cpp:3, from experiments.cpp:2: BPCFGParser.h:408: error: specialization of ‘std::hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass>’ after instantiation BPCFGParser.h:408: error: redefinition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass>’ /usr/include/c++/4.3/tr1_impl/functional_hash.h:44: error: previous definition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::ActiveEquivClass>’ BPCFGParser.h:445: error: specialization of ‘std::hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass>’ after instantiation BPCFGParser.h:445: error: redefinition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass>’ /usr/include/c++/4.3/tr1_impl/functional_hash.h:44: error: previous definition of ‘class std::hash<BPCFGParser::PassiveEquivClass>’ Now I have to specialize std::hash for these classes (because standard std::hash definition does not include user defined types). When I move these template specializations before the definition of class BPCFGParser, I get a variety of errors for a variety of different things tried, and somewhere (http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/misc-technical-issues.html) I read that: Whenever you use a class as a template parameter, the declaration of that class must be complete and not simply forward declared. So I'm stuck. I cannot specialize the templates after BPCFGParser definition, I cannot specialize them before BPCFGParser definition, how may I get this working? Thanks in advance, Onur

    Hi, I have got this code and I am trying to understand the convention followed, all the method defined in the .cpp file have template<class KeyType, class DataType> written before them. What does that mean? Example: //Constructor template<class key, class type> MyOperation<key, type>::MyOperation() { //method implementation } //A method template<class key, class type> MyOperation<key, type>::otherOperation() { //method implementation } Thanks

  • draw ellipse in MFC C++ just use OPENGL?

    - by taki
    i trying to draw ellipse in MFC C++ just use OPENGL. it ran for the resulting ellipse but it is not correct mouse coordinates. My code: in class Ellispe.cpp void VeEllispe::putPixel(int x,int y,int xc, int yc) { glBegin(GL_POINTS);// bat dau bang ve diem glVertex2i(xc+x,yc+y); glVertex2i(xc-x,yc-y); glVertex2i(xc+x,yc-y); glVertex2i(xc-x,yc+y); glEnd(); } void VeEllispe::Draw(int a, int b,int xc,int yc) { int x = 0; int y = b; float a2 = (a*a); float b2 = (b*b); float p = b2 - a2*b + 0.25*a2; while(2*b2*x <= 2*y*a2) { putPixel(x,y,xc,yc); if (p < 0) p+= 2*b2*x + 3*b2; else { p+= 2*b2*x + 3*b2 - 2*a2*y + 2*a2; y--; } x++; } x = a; y = 0; p = a2 - b2*a + 0.25*b2; while(2*a2*y <= 2*x*b2) { putPixel(x,y,xc, yc); if (p < 0) p+= 2*a2*y + 3*a2; else { p+= 2*a2*y + 3*a2 - 2*b2*x + 2*b2; x--; } y++; } } in class XYZView.cpp . . VeEllispe e; void Cbaitap1View::OnDraw(CDC* /*pDC*/) { Cbaitap1Doc* pDoc = GetDocument(); ASSERT_VALID(pDoc); if (!pDoc) return; wglMakeCurrent(m_hDC,m_hRC); glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glClearColor(1.0,1.0,1.0,0.0); glColor3f(0.0,0.0,1.0); glPointSize(2); if (state==4) e.Draw(X2,Y2,X1,Y1); glFlush(); SwapBuffers(::GetDC(GetSafeHwnd())); wglMakeCurrent(NULL,NULL); } And if possible, can you teach me the document to drawing triangles or parapol use OPENGL?

  • Class Problem (c++ and prolog)

    - by Joshua Green
    I am using the C++ interface to Prolog (the classes and methods of SWI-cpp.h). For working out a simple backtracking that john likes mary and emma and sara: likes(john, mary). likes(john, emma). likes(john, ashley). I can just do: { PlFrame fr; PlTermv av(2); av[0] = PlCompound("john"); PlQuery q("likes", av); while (q.next_solution()) { cout << (char*)av[1] << endl; } } This works in a separate code, so the syntax is correct. But I am also trying to get this simple backtracking to work within a class: class UserTaskProlog { public: UserTaskProlog(ArRobot* r); ~UserTaskProlog(); protected: int cycles; char* argv[1]; ArRobot* robot; void logTask(); }; This class works fine, with my cycles variable incrementing every robot cycle. However, when I run my main code, I get an Unhandled Exception error message: UserTaskProlog::UserTaskProlog(ArRobot* r) : robotTaskFunc(this, &UserTaskProlog::logTask) { cycles = 0; PlEngine e(argv[0]); PlCall("consult('myFile.pl')"); robot->addSensorInterpTask("UserTaskProlog", 50, &robotTaskFunc); } UserTaskProlog::~UserTaskProlog() { robot->remSensorInterpTask(&robotTaskFunc); // Do I need a destructor here for pl? } void UserTaskProlog::logTask() { cycles++; cout << cycles; { PlFrame fr; PlTermv av(2); av[0] = PlCompound("john"); PlQuery q("likes", av); while (q.next_solution()) { cout << (char*)av[1] << endl; } } } I have my opening and closing brackets for PlFrame. I have my frame, my query, etc... The exact same code that backtracks and prints out mary and emma and sara. What am I missing here that I get an error message? Here is what I think the code should do: I expect mary and emma and sara to be printed out once, every time cycles increments. However, it opens SWI-cpp.h file automatically and points to class PlFrame. What is it trying to tell me? I don't see anything wrong with my PlFrame class declaration. Thanks,

  • .Net concurrency performance on client side

    - by Yaron Naveh
    I am writing a client side .Net application which is expected to use a lot of threads. I was warned that .Net performance is very bad when it comes to concurrency. While I am not writing a real-time application, I want to make sure my application is scalable (i.e. allows many threads) and somehow comparable to an equivalent cpp application. Anyone can share his experience? Anyone can refer me to a relevant benchmark?
