  • How to use LINQ to SQL to create ranked search results?

    I am looking for a way to use l2s to return ranked result based on keywords. I would like to take a keyword and be able to search the table for that keyword using .contains(). The trick that I haven't been able to figure out is how to get a count of how many times that keyqord appears, and then .OrderByDescending() based on that count. So if i had some thing like: string keyword = "SomeKeyword"; IQueryable<Article> searchResults = from a in GenesisRepository.Article where a.Body.Contains(keyword) select a; What is the best way to order searchResults based on the number of times keyword appears in a.Body?     I've checked "Don't use the index when searching in file folders for system files", but I don't see a way to tell Windows 7 that I'm looking for a system file. What does this option actually do, and how do I use it to search every file name on the drive for a specified character string? I intend to search file names in an indexed folder that contains non-indexed subfolders and "system" file types, and this option seems to have no effect on the skipping of those subfolders and file types.

It seems that way, but I can't be sure. I've even checked the Lucene documentation (class ScoreDocs) to no avail. You'll see I'm calculating the log of the "newRelevance" value, which is based on hits[i].score. I need hits[i].score to be between 0 and 1, because if it is below zero, I'll get an error; above 1 and the sign will change from negative to positive. I hope some Lucene expert out there can offer me some insight. Many thanks,

  • Using Lucene to index private data, should I have a separate index for each user or a single index

    I am developing an Azure based website and I want to provide search capabilities using Lucene. (structured json objects would be indexed and stored in Lucene and other content such as Word documents, etc. would be indexed in lucene but stored in blob storage) I want the search to be secure, such that one user would never see a document belonging to another user. I want to allow ad-hoc searches as typed by the user. Lastly, I want to query programmatically to return predefined sets of data, such as "all notes for user X". I think I understand how to add properties to each document to achieve these 3 objectives. (I am listing them here so if anyone is kind enough to answer, they will have better idea of what I am trying to do) My questions revolve around performance and security. Can I improve document security by having a separate index for each user, or is including the user's ID as a parameter in each search sufficient? Can I improve indexing speed and total throughput of the system by having a separate index for each user? My thinking is that having separate indexes would allow me to scale the system by having multiple index writers (perhaps even on different server instances) working at the same time, each on their own index. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Nate

    Does anyone know how to display a percentage format based on the locale using the zend framework? I've tried this below and it doesn't work for some reason: $xx = Zend_Locale::getTranslation(null, 'PercentNumber'); // This outputs: "#,##0%" for locale 'en_us' $percentage = Zend_Locale_Format::getNumber(133.3678, array('number_format' => $xx, 'locale' => $lang_LOCALE)); The output of $percentage is 133.3678.     I have included Zend_Form_Element_Hash into a form multiplecheckbox form. I have jQuery set to fire off an AJAX request when a checkbox is clicked, I pass the token with this AJAX request. The first AJAX request works great, but the subsequent ones fail. I suspect it may be once the token has been validated it is then removed from the session (hop = 1). What would be your plan of attack for securing a form with Zend Framework Hash yet using AJAX to complete some of these requests?

  • Correct method to search for AD user by email address from .NET

    I'm having some issues with code that is intended to find a user in Active Directory by searching on their email address. I have tried 2 methods but I'm sometimes finding that the FindOne() method will not return any results on some occasions. If I look up the user in the GAL in Outlook I see the SMTP email address listed. My end goal is to confirm that the user exists in AD. I only have the email address as search criteria, so no way to use first or last name. Method 1: Using mail property: DirectorySearcher search = new DirectorySearcher(entry); search.Filter = "(mail=" + email + ")"; search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("mail"); SearchResult result = search.FindOne(); Method 2: proxyAddresses property: DirectorySearcher search = new DirectorySearcher(entry); search.Filter = "(proxyAddresses=SMTP:" + email + ")"; // I've also tried with =smtp: search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("mail"); SearchResult result = search.FindOne(); I've tried changing the case of the email address input but it still does not return a result. Is there a problem here with case sensitivity? If so, what is the best way to resolve it?

I'm testing the same codes under 2 different protocols(http & https) in 2 different web servers. http site works just fine, but I get "SoapFault exception: [VersionMismatch]..." error in https.   • Running PHP Zend Test in Eclipse

    Is it possible to run PHP Zend test cases (those that extend Zend_Test_PHPUnit_ControllerTestCase, etc.) through Eclipse PDT? I would like to be able to run them in a similar fashion as you run JUnit tests in Eclipse, by right-clicking the test file and selecting "Run as a JUnit test case." I'd love to see the green or red bar instead of having to go to the command line :). Thanks in advance.
