• Winforms: Enabling Localization by default (enforcing a project/solution policy)

  Is there an easy way to set the Localizable property to true for newly created usercontrols / forms? The scope of the setting should ideally be a solution or a project. In other words I want to say that this project/solution should be localizable, and then if I add a new form or control VS should automatically set the property to true. Edit: Although custom templates are possible, in a larger team they might not be always used. So it's more about enforcing a policy, ensuring that the team members do not ommit to set the property for the projects/solutions where it is a requirement that all forms/controls containing text resources should be localizable. Note: Team Foundation Server is not an Option.

• How to use the Rhino javascript engine in an applet

  For my java program I'm using Rhino to execute JS scripts. Now I'm trying to convert it to an applet which works great, except that everytime it's calling evaluateString(...) the JVM throws an AccessControlException. After some (a lot) of research I found out that this is caused by Rhino's custom classloader. My problem is that after hours of googling I still can't find a way to stop Rhino from trying to load it's own classloader. I hope someone can help me...

• Using WFC authentication service for web application

  I am using a WFC authentication service I set up with a web application. I have successfully set up and tested the AuthenticationService and RolesService. The web application can successfully call methods like ValidateUser and GetRolesForCurrentUser through the WFC services. I want to integrate the WFC authentication service with my web.config and site.map. Do I need to write a custom provider, or is there some way I can modify the web.config of the web application to use the WFC authentication service as its membership provider? This way I can set what roles have access to what directories based off the WFC authentication service.

  I am trying to get the on screen location of an NSStatusItem so that I can perform a click on that area via code like below.   I'm developing a CMS (with Django, but that doesn't matter) and have chosen GIT. Installations will vary in: Configs Database contents Media Templates First 3 are not a problem with git: we simply don't need these :) While developing, I have 1 default template with related media. Later, each customer will receive his own design based on default templates (some slight customization). I'm not going to support each of the custom templates as I introduce new features. Modularity helps with this but is not a 100% solution. Do you have any experience to share?

  Hi all, In my application I have this requirement that first tap on custom cell of uitableview with a label in it should expand it and second should contract it. I'm able to expand and contract cell and expand label inside cell, but not able to contract the label on second tap. I'm using this function - (void)setSelected:(BOOL)selected animated:(BOOL)animated { [super setSelected:selected animated:animated]; if( selected == YES ) { [self expandRow]; } else { [self contractRow]; } height = [lblFeed frame].size.height + 75; } expandRow expands the label and contractRow contracts it. I'm perplexed as for how many rows this function gets called. It doesn't get called only for the cell tapped, it gets called more number of times for single tap on single cell may be for other cells but I'm not getting which rows. This' really urgent. Can anybody please help?

  I am using a ASP.net form with custom onclick mouse events to modify data values. Upon clicking and updating the values, one div section of the form performs a postback. onclick="__doPostBack('ctl01$phCon1$gridReports','sel1')" This is working well, however when the browser BACK option is selected, the browser opens goes through the history of the DIV ajax/onclick actions prior to going back to the prior URL. I suspect that this may be due to the doPostBack being treated as a browsing operation. Is there a means to perform the necessary ASP.net code events to make the page work, but not have the action stored in the browser history?

  I'm working on a new presenation component for one of our applications. I am building a Custom WPF Control that just has a DocumentViewer in it and hosting that CC in a Windows Forms application with an ElementHost. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 with C#. I have customized everything through the XAML to give it the look and feel that integrates it perfecting into our application, but one thing remains... If you press CTRL+P the print dialog still comes up. I'm at a complete loss as to how to disable that fuction. The use of this CC is to allow the users to pull up and view the Manuals for the systems installed at that site, but we don't want them to accidently print them (100s of pages). Please help, -G

(based on this answer) I already have the mechanism how to catch an invalid route and the custom 404 page is served by my ErrorController/Handle404 action. My current implementation of Handle404: public ActionResult Handle404() { Response.StatusCode = 404; return View("NotFound"); } Currently, IIS serves the page as 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. (the standard IIS page, not my user friendly content) How can I include the 404 status code in the result served by the Handle404 action while still serving the content?

  Hi All, I am using XStream to serialize my Objects to XML format. The formatted xml that I get is as below: node1, node2, node 3 are attributes of pojo,DetailDollars 100 25 10 I have requirement where in I have to calucluate a percentage, for example 100/ 25 and add the new node to the existing ones. So, the final output should be : 100 25 10 4 I wrote a custom converter and registered to my xstream object. public void marshal(..){ writer.startNode("node4"); writer.setValue(getNode1()/ getnode2() ); writer.endNode(); } But, the xml stream I get has only the new node: 4 I am not sure which xstream api would get me the desired format. could you please help me with this .   I want to create a vector<vector<int>> where the outer vector is fixed (always containing the same vectors), but the inner vectors can be changed. For example: int n = 2; //decided at runtime assert(n>0); vector<vector<int>> outer(n); //outer vector contains n empty vectors outer.push_back(vector<int>()); //modifying outer vector - this should be error auto outer_it = outer.begin(); (*outer_it).push_back(3); //modifying inner vector. should work (which it does). I tried doing simply const vector<vector<int>>, but that makes even the inner vectors const. Is my only option to create my own custom FixedVectors class, or are there better ways out there to do this?

• ASP.NET authentication login and logout with browser back button

  Hi, I am looking for a solution for user use the browser's back button to navigate to previous page once logged out. I have a web application build in asp.net and using a custom membership provider for authentication and authorization. Everything works fine except when the user click on the logout link to log out of the application and being redirect to a default cover page, if the use click on the BACK BUTTON on their browser, it will actually go back to where they were before and the data will still show up. Of course they can't do anything on that page, click on anything link they will be redirect to a login page again. But having those information display is making a lot users confused. i am just wondering if there is any way i can either clear the browser's history so use can't go BACK, or when they click on the back button and have them redirect to the login page. thanks

  I have some data coming from a custom dataset that look like the following example Person Age P1 20 P2 21 P3 30 P4 31 P5 40 And I want to develop a pie showing the age distribution against the age. The point is that I want this Age to be shown in ranges. (20-29, 30-39, etc for example So we have: Slice with total number =2 (P1 + P2) as age is 20-29 (one at 20 and another at 21) Slice with total number =3 (P3 + P4) as age is 30-39 (one at 30 and another at 31) Slice with total number =1 (P5) as age is 40 (one at 40). How can i customize the pie chart to aggregate values by ranges that I can define?

For example, take a look at Google's number of MB of free storage on the Gmail homepage, under the heading that reads "Lots of space". It has a starting number in a <span> tag, and slowly counts upward every second. I'm looking for something similar, but I'd like to be able to specify: The start number The end number The amount of time it should take to get from start to end.   I'm writing an Eclipse plug-in... In my custom label decorator, I want to overlay a warning icon, and I'd like to use the standard one used by eclipse (the little yellow triangle). How can I get an image descriptor of this icon? I tried using workbench.getSharedImages().getImageDescriptor(ISharedImages .IMG_DEC_FIELD_WARNING), since that ID seems to match what I'm looking for, but the shared images collection doesn't actually have that image in it (so I just get a null returned). Is there some other shared image collection that I should be looking at?

  Hi I have a requirement to develop custom reports where we already have some reoprts developed using JasperReports using iReport tool. Now the requirement is to modify those reports design at run time. I should use those existing jrxml files and save as to new report then change the design at run time. Also I should see those newly created reports whenever I want. I have gone through the Jasper API and Dynamic Reports where we can create the reports dynamically at run time but we can't save the design (like JRXML). I am looking for any other JRXML design API to create and modify and save the Jasper Reports at run time. I appreciate if any one can help me. Thanks in Advance Srinivas

  If i have a Controller Action that may recieve both HTTP GET and HTTP POST from a number of different sources with each source sending different data e.g. Source1 performs a form POST with two form items Item1 and Item2 Source2 performs a GET where the data is contained in the query string (?ItemX=2&ItemY=3) Is it possible to have a controller action that will cater for all these cases and perform binding automatically e.g. public ActionResult Test(Dictionary data) { // Do work ... return View(); } Is this possible with a custom binder or some other way? Dont want to work directly with HttpContext.Request if possible

All works and the image is shown with my code but it creates a memory leak. • C# .Net file in use issue

  I'm having an issue opening files that have recently been closed by the .Net framework. Basically, what happens is the following: -Read in an XML file using DataSet.ReadXml() -Make some changes to the data -Write out the XML file using DataSet.WriteXml() -Copy the XML file to a new location using File.Copy -FTP the file using a custom control This sequence can intermittently fail either after the WriteXML or the File.Copy with a file in use exception. I'm guessing it could be the Windows write cache not flushing right away. Can anyone confirm that this could be causing my issue? Any solutions to suggest? Thanks, Dan

• Container Options in AWS Elastic Beanstalk

  We have deployed a java webapplication in Elastic Beanstalk with the minimum instance count 1 and max instance count 2 for Autoscaling. The custom AMI we are using is c1.medium with Sun JDK 6. The environment status changed to yellow and then red. After checking into the log file from the snapshot logs we found a exception - Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. Assuming this could be one of the possible reason for the Environment failure. The settings that we have configured in the Environment Container option are Initial JVM Heap Size (MB) - 256M Maximum JVM Heap Size (MB) - 512m The maximum heap size the java virtual machine will ever consume, specified on the JVM launch command line using -Xmx. Maximum JVM Permanent Generation Size (MB) - 512m Should i increase the Heap size from 512m to more or is it fine.
