  Good day everyone! This is my first post on this site ^_^ My question is: What are my options if I need a Web 2.0 gallery software that work in a very similar manner to this removed web site. Essentially: users can create account, then create and manage their own galleries. And all other users and guests can see these galleries, add tags, comments, etc. Basically a community driven gallery web site. When it comes to "normal" cms I know a lot of good options, but I never worked with any gallery management software... If you can suggest me some good solutions (free) it would be great! Also: If you by any chance know what software is used at this removed website it would be even better, because this solution suits me the best and I would have used this engine, but I cant find any information on what this engine is and if it is even public, or privately developed thing. • What are different ways to reduce latency between a server and a web application? [closed]

  this is a question about a web application that provides SOAP web services. For the sake of this question, this web app is hosted on a server SERVER B which is located in California. We have an automated, scheduled, process running on a server SERVER A, located in New York. This scheduled process is supposed to send SOAP messages to SERVER B every so often, but this process typically dies soon after starting. We have now been told by the vendor that reason why the process dies is because of the latency between SERVER A and SERVER B. The data traffic is routed through many diffent public networks. There is no dedicated line between SERVER A and SERVER B. As a result I have been asked to look into ways to reduce the latency between SERVER A and SERVER B. So I wanted to ask, what are the different ways to reduce latency in a situation like this? For example, would it help to switch from HTTPS to some other secure protocol? (the thought here is that perhaps some other alternative would require fewer handshakes than HTTPS). Or would a VPN help? If a VPN would reduce the latency, how would it do that? NOTE: I am not looking for an explicit answer that would work in my specific situation. I am more like looking just for a simple list of what technologies could be used for this. I will still have to evaluate the technologies and discuss them internally with others, so the list would just be a starting point. Here I am assuming that there exists very few ways to reduce latency between two servers that communicate across public networks using HTTPS. Feel free to correct me if this assumption is wrong and please ask if there is a need for specific information. NOTE 2: A list of technologies is a specific answer to the question I stated in the title. NOTE 3: Its rather dumb to close this question when it is after all about me looking for information and furthermore this information can clearly be useful for others. • How could I manage Google Adsense to approve my Web App? It keeps denying it

  Google adsense keeps denying my app from having ads, because of an "insufficient content" issue. I manage a Web Application that allows the users to set Youtube Videos as Alarm Clocks. It includes an in-site Youtube search to retrieve videos from user queries and lists the users alarms. The site has a good traffic (500 users per day), is currently promoted by Google in Google Chrome Webstore, and the ajax requests are crawlable, following Google's guidelines (https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/). Although I understand there is not much content, beyond the user-generated, I really don't what else should I include in the site. Perhaps adding contact and about pages, and maybe another section would increase the navigation. Google argues I need a "fully launched and functioning site, allowing users to navigate throughout your site with a menu, sitemap, or appropiate links". They also ask for "full sentences or paragraphs" Isn't a Google Adsense solutions for Web Applications? Would all the web-apps have to include useless navigable subpages?

  I am a bit confusing and I need your help to undertand my problem. I have developed a web application (PHP, JQuery) for one of my customer. Recently, my customer ask me to add a new feature permitting PDF to JPG conversion. After web browsing, I have discovered that iMagick (Apache licence) PHP extension with GhostScript (GPL licence) is the only solution. But, as my customer want to sell the web application to others companies, I have to use non-GPL licences. By the way, this feature is OPTIONAL and the final user must download and install manually iMagick and GhostScript if he his interesting by using the PDF conversion. Is there someone to tell me if the fact to use Imagick to convert PDF to JPG (and therefore use GhostScript) turns my current proprietary licence to GPL? And what about if I don't use Imagick but call GhostScript using PHP exec() function? Is there others non-GPL projects to convert PDF to JPG that I could use with PHP? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I click on it, though, my web browser (Iceweasel 12) gives me a prompt to download the file, instead of just displaying it: Is there any magic I can add to the web page, or as a header to the file (that will still allow it to be included by a .c compiled with gcc), to get the .h file to be displayed in the web browser?

Each of these Windows and Linux servers has a different host name and domain name (and IP address). Our team would appreciate your guidance on: (1) Is there a way to implement this Web portal-based platform on these Linux and Windows servers without customizing the host name, domain name and IP address for each individual instance? (2) Is there a way to create some variables using JavaScript for host name and domain name and call them from the different implementations? If a reference to the host/domain names occurs on hundreds of our pages, the variables or objects would replace that. • What is the most cross-browser/system compatible option for 3d graphics on a web page?

  I would like to develop a bit of functionality for a web site that involves a bit of 3D - the user can move around objects, rotate them and texture them. So far I've looked into: WebGL (in particular three.js) and it looks great, but it's not supported in IE nor IOS. IOS supports the <canvas> tag, but only 2d. It looks like three.js has an unsupported hack to make a 3d thing use the 2d canvas instead without textures, but this looks like a hack. I also considered resorting to Flash which works on most browsers, but that won't work on IOS. What's my best option for doing 3d web graphics on the vast array of browsers and interfaces? At the moment I'm thinking WebGL for web (and ask people to use chrome or firefox, and take the hit on IE) and then maybe write a native app for IOS, but I am not sure if there are better alternatives available that I don't know of.

One difference I noticed between the test and production environment is when I used the soap url in the browser the production site pops up a 'Authentication Required' popup. When I gives my proxy username and password in this popup, it shows the soap request details. The same is applicable for the login url also. First it will ask for the 'Authentication' then it will take to the sugar crm login page? Is it a server security setting? If it is then how to set this user name and password using java in a web service call. The authentication required popup is same as the one which comes when we try to access the tomcat manager through a browser. Thanks
