Renaud Schleck, the tinker behind the build, describes the guts: This is an alarm clock simulating the sunrise, which means that a few minutes before the alarm goes off, it shines some light whose brightness increases over time. • Songs bought from the Ubuntu One Music store showing Unknown Album/Artist in streaming app

  I've been using Ubuntu one for several years and have purchased several albums from the Ubuntu One music store. All was well while I was playing them from Rhythmbox or Banshee. However, I recently started using the U.O. streaming android app and streaming section of the one.ubuntu.com website and most of my music appears to be untagged. What is going on? Before this question is dismissed as a duplicate, let me reiterate the crucial differences: ALL of the music in my U.O. account was bought in the Ubuntu One music store. This is NOT music that I ripped or bought elsewhere The mp3s that end up on my hard drive DO appear to be tagged correctly The issue affects the U.O. Streaming Music Android app AND the website (viewed in Chrome on my Win7 work PC) Is this some problem with the streaming service? Is there anything I can do?

Everything of course, which is why that particular toy only lasted a single holiday. Buzzfeed reports on some of the toys of holidays past that were quickly pulled off the shelves. In regard to the nuclear kit pictured here, they write: Only available from 1951–1952, this science kit for CHILDREN included four types of uranium ore, a Geiger counter, a comic called Dagwood Spits the Atom, and a coupon for ordering MORE radioactive materials.   I'm researching Monogame. Their goal is to allow "easy" porting of an existing XNA/Windows game to mobile. Does this mean you can have one solution (theoretically) with shared code, and it works on all three platforms (PC, Android, iPhone)? Or do you need to port your game from PC to Android, and then again to iPhone? I'm sure "write once, run anywhere" works 80% of the time, I'm not worried about that other 20% like support for GPS, acceleratometer, etc. which doesn't exist on all platforms.

• Using your own gameloop logic on iphone?

  I'm currently working on moving some android-ndk code to the iphone and have hit a wall. I'm new to iphone development, and from looking at some samples it seems that the main loop is handled for you and all you've got to do is override the render method on the view to handle the rendering and add a selector to handle the update methods. The render method itself lookslike it's attached to the windows refresh. But in android I've got my own game loop that controls the rendering and updates using c++ time.h. is it possible to implement the same here bypassing apple's loop? I'd really like the keep the structures of the code similar. Thanks!

• Game Center alternatives for non-iOS development

  I have completed a game for iOS which integrates GameKit. I am happy with Game Center however my game also has an HTML5 web version and will soo have an Android version. My question is what alternatives do I have for non-iOS platforms but primarily for Android and to a lesser extent a Javascript/Web SDK. I looked at Openfeint a year ago and it seemed to be a good solution back then but am not sure if this is still the case? Note, I have no plans to replace what I already have in my iOS game and I understand the leader boards, users, and achievements won't be shared out of Game Center.

• Rapid prototyping and refactoring

  Sometimes when I start a small project (like an android app), I don´t know which approach will work out at the end, and I just go for one approach and give it a try. But if I never used this approach before (for a sort of application I´ve never programmed before) it is like stepping into unknown terrain. I don´t know which libraries to use (maybe I have to try out several libraries) and there are so many unkonwns (like: how to get raw audio data in android) So then my development process goes like this: Write a piece of code to see if the approach has a chance. (The more uncertain the approach is, the uglier the code gets) If it works, refactor a lot until it is beautiful I think it could be a waste of time if I planned my software design in detail at this point, it would be like planning a trip without a map. Is this part of aglie development? How do you deal with unknown terrain in software development?
