• Simple jQuery code contains a syntax error that I can't find

  I've got this (remarkably) simple JavaScript function that is called when a user clicks a "Cancel" link: function hideNewUserPanel(){ $('#create_user_panel').slideUp('slow'); $('.right_interior_panel').slideDown('slow'); } And the code to add the handler: $(function(){ $('#cancel_create_user_btn').live('click', function(){ hideNewUserPanel(); } }); Functionally, everything works as expected. Trouble is, when I click the "Cancel" link, Firebug shows an error in the console: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: # I've stepped through the code several times and the error appears at some point before the call to hideNewUserPanel(). At the risk of sounding like one of "those programmers" (the kind that claim to have found a bug in GCC and assume their own code is perfect), the exception is being thrown from somewhere within jQuery proper, so I assume the issue is in there. I'm using jQuery 1.3.2 (this is a legacy project using many jQuery plugins that will break if we update to 1.4.x). Is there anything obviously wrong with my code that I'm simply not seeing? This code is, frankly, very simple and I don't really see what the issue could be. Thanks!

• AJAX modalpopupextender pressing enter when cancel is focused doesn't trigger cancel

  Been using the Ajax modalpopupextender. I used a script to set focus on the cancel button when it gets showed on the page but when I press enter (expecting that cancel would've been triggered since it was focused) it went ahead and triggered the event for the OK button (which, unfortunately was a delete event). I've tried using various methods for focusing on the Cancel button and trying to make it work. Anyone know how to make this work?

• Passing parameters to eventListener function

  I have this function check(e) that I'd like to be able to pass parameters from test() when I add it to the eventListener. Is this possible? Like say to get the mainlink variable to pass through the parameters. Is this even good to do?   In this jsFiddle, I have a table with checkboxes in the first column. The master checkbox in the table header functions as expected toggling the state of all the checkboxes in the table when it is clicked. I have set up a hotkey for "shift-x" to toggle the master checkbox. The desired behavior when using the hotkey is: The master checkbox is toggled The child checkboxes each have their checked state set to match the master But what is actually happening is the opposite... • Javascript onclick stops working, multiple dynamically created divs.

  I have run into a strange problem, i am creating a lot of dynamically divs. And i recently found out that some of my divs doesn't fire the onclick event? All the divs are created using the same template, so why are some not working? Most of the time, its the 4-5 from the bottom. If you click on one of the others and then try again, you might get one of those to trigger. But only sporadically.   Hi, I have a quite simple scenario that I cannot get to work correctly. I have 2 views, CarView and CarWindowView (childwindow) with corresponding ViewModels. In my CarView I have an EditButton that that opens CarWindowView (childwindow) where I can edit the Car object fields. My problem is that the DisplayModule method in my CarWindowView ViewModel is getting called too many times...When I push the edit button first time its getting called once, the second time its getting called twince, the third time its getting called 3 times and so fort... ! • UIButton and UIControlEventState issue

  I'm having a very specific "bug" in my iPhone application. I'm setting two images for the highlighted and normal states of a button. It works as expected when you "press" and then "touch up" at a slow pace, but if you click/tap it quickly, there's a noticeable flicker between states. Is this a known bug or am I setting the states incorrectly? If i debug into the code I can see that item is a select not an anchor like i would expect it to be, and that confuses me even more.

  I restarted my slave to change configuration settings to skip reverse hostname lookup on connecting and to enable the slow query log. I edited /etc/my.cnf making only these changes, then restarted mysqld with /etc/init.d/mysql restart All appeared to be well but when I connect to msyqld remotely or locally though it connects okay a slight problem is that mysqld crashes whenever you try to issue any kind of statement.
