• mysql circular dependency in foreign key constraints

  Given the schema: What I need is having every user_identities.belongs_to reference an users.id. At the same time, every users has a primary_identity as shown in the picture. However when I try to add this reference with ON DELETE NO ACTION ON UPDATE NO ACTION, MySQL says #1452 - Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (yap.#sql-a3b_1bf, CONSTRAINT #sql-a3b_1bf_ibfk_1 FOREIGN KEY (belongs_to) REFERENCES users (id) ON DELETE NO ACTION ON UPDATE NO ACTION) I suspect this is due to the circular dependency, but how could I solve it (and maintain referential integrity)?

  Hi, I am very new to the QT; please help me to solve the problem. I am using thread to perform intensive operation in back ground. Meanwhile I want to update the UI, so I am using SIGNALS and SLOTS. To update UI I emit a signal and update UI. In the QT document, it says that when we emit a signal it will be placed in the queue and late it will be delivered to the windows. Since my object is in local scope it will be delete once it goes out of the scope. Please tell me a way to send a pointer in a signal.

  I have 2 threads in my application, a game update thread and render/IO/main thread. My update thread updates the game state, and the render thread renders the scene based on the updated values of the game state models and a few other variables stored inside an object (gameEngine). The render thread gets executed while the game thread is still updating, which is a problem, so it appeared to me the solution is to use @synchronized like this: @synchronized(gameEngine) { [gameEngine update]; nextUpdate = now + GAME_UPDATE_INTERVAL; gameEngine.lastGameUpdateInterval = now - lastUpdate; gameEngine.lastGameUpdateTime = now; lastUpdate = now; } But the render thread still accesses the gameEngine object between -update and the last 3 lines of the block. Why is this?

• DBConcurrencyException happening on second delete

  My code keeps throwing a DBConcurrencyException ("Concurrency violation: the DeleteCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records.) when I make a second update to the data table. The problem actually happens on a table that is linked to a parent table. The two tables, CashReceipts and CashReceiptsApplyTo are displayed on the same winform, and when I delete two cash receipts the update on cash receipt apply to's table fails with the dbconcurrencyexception (the table is updated everytime the binding source [linked to a binding navigator] changes position). For that purpose I had created copy table then began to compare updated rows with the old copied ones.   I have the following setup, I am working on a project project with the submodule submodule. Whenever I push changes to github it sends a post request to update.php on the server. This php file executes a git command. Without submodules I can just do a git pull and everything is fine but with submodules it is much more difficult. I have this at the moment, but it does not do what I want.   Hello, In asp.net is it a requirement to rebuild the whole page during every callback? For example my web page is split into three distinct areas and I have an update panel for each area. Lets say I want to update the third area, do I have to bother with any processing of the other two areas? For example lets say there is a grid view in area two. • "Othello" game needs some clarification

  I am trying to see if my understanding of "othello" fame is correct or not. According to the rules, we flip the dark/light sides if we get some sequence like X000X = XXXXX. The question I have is if in the process of flipping 0-X or X- 0, do we also need to consider the rows/columns/diagonals of newly flipped elements? e.g. consider board state as shown in above image(New element X is placed @ 2,3) When we update board, we mark elements from 2,3 to 6,3 as Xs but in this process elements like horizontal 4,3 to 4,5 and diagonal 2,3 to 4,5 are also eligible for update? so do we update those elements as well? or just the elements which have starting as 2,3 (i.e update rows/column/diagonal whose starting point is the element we are dealing with, in our case 2,3?) Please help me understand it

  Hi, I've been experimenting with this plugin http://valums.com/edit-in-place/, so far so good... But i ran into this problem. I want to update my page when update or new request to save data is sent but if i update this function(edit-in-place) it will add second set of buttons, third, fourth and so on. How could i tell it that it would update just on that returned data, but not all elements? I have an idea it has to do something with each function of jquerys, but I'm not sure as I'm quite new to jquery. Thanks for any help!

• Package Installer misbehavoir

  Hi, I am unable to understand and fix the following behavior displayed by the Package Installer : in my application when I press on a "update application" button I download from a web server un update apk (in case there is) and start the Package Installer afterwards to install the package. Everything goes well and after the installation finishes there is displayed a view with two buttons "open" and "done" . However pressing the "open" button fails to open the installed update as it should even if the intent to the startup activity is sent as I observed in logcat . Pressing on menu button and going through the applications installed I am able to find the updated app and start it from here . What should I do to start the update by pressing open in the final Package Installed view ?

• Load Empty Database table

  I am using SQLexpress and VS2008. I have a DB with a table named "A", which has an IdentitySpecification column named ID. The ID is auto-incremented. Even if the row is deleted, the ID still increases. After several data manipulation, the current ID has reached 15, for example. When I run the application if there's at least 1 row: if I add a new row, the new ID is 16. Everything is fine. If the table is empty (no row): if I add a new row, the new ID is 0, which is an error (I think). And further data manipulation (eg. delete or update) will result in an unhandled exception. Has anyone encountered this? PS. In my table definition, the ID has been selected as follow: Identity Increment = 1; Identity Seed =1; The DB load code is: dataSet = gcnew DataSet(); dataAdapter->Fill(dataSet,"A"); dataTable=dataSet->Tables["A"]; dbConnection->Open(); The Update button method dataAdapter->Update(dataSet,"tblInFlow"); dataSet->AcceptChanges(); dataTable=dataSet->Tables["tblInFlow"]; dataGrid->DataSource=dataTable; If I press Update: if there's at least a row: the datagrid view updates and shows the table correctly. if there's nothing in the table (no data row), the Add method will add a new row, but from ID 0. • Redirecting Pages with PHP causing problems

  I have a page which has a link to a php page which takes data from $_GET and updates a database. After that it returns the user to the homepage with: header("Location: http://localhost/"); The thing is that this seems to "interrupt" the mysql part of the code. If I remove this redirect, everything in the database is updated, but when I put it back, nothing gets updated... • Rails dealing with blank params at controller level

  I have a User model: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_secure_password # validation lets users update accounts without entering password validates :password, presence: { on: :create }, allow_blank: { on: :update } validates :password_confirmation, presence: { if: :password_digest_changed? } end I also have a password_reset_controller: def update # this is emailed to the user by the create action - not shown @user=User.find_by_password_reset_token!(params[:id]) if @user.update_attributes(params[:user]) # user is signed in if password and confirmation pass validations sign_in @user redirect_to root_url, :notice => "Password has been reset." else flash.now[:error] = "Something went wrong, please try again." render :edit end end Can you see the problem here? A user can submit a blank a password/confirmation and rails will sign them in, because the User model allows blank on update. It's not a security concern, since an attacker would still need access to a user's email account before they could get anywhere near this action, but my problem is that a user submitting 6 blank chars would be signed in, and their password would not be changed for them, which could lead to confusion later on. • Unable to Connect to Management Studio Server

  I have a nasty situation. I am using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express edition locally on my pc for testing, and once tested I upload database changes to a remote server. I have a situation where I deleted the Default Database on my local machine, and instead of searching hard enough to find an answer to that problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled Management Studio. Since then Management Studio has not been able to connect to the server. Is there any help (or hope for me for that matter), out there????? In genericList view I hvae beginForm.. <% using (Html.BeginForm("Updatestudent", "expense", FormMethod.Post, new { @id = "id" })) { %> <% } %> so My updatestudent method is [HttpPost] public JsonResult Updatestudent(StudentBE e) { var status = common.Update(e.student); } } return Json(status.ToString()); } Here is my problem.. the GetStudentInfo Actionresult is having each student information.. in UpdateStudent method Update Method calls the DB calls for stored procedure to update each user information now to update each user I need to call GetstudentInfo each time to get student information to update..? how to call GetStudentInfo method here to get studentinformation? student informatin may be multiple that is more than one student informaton... can anybody help me out.. thanks

  hi. I have a multiple file upload form(html5) and want to update my view as soon one of the images is transfered to my image server. Currently I upload the files with ajax and use response_to_parent to update my upload view when all images are transfered to the image server.
