  • Relative Path To Absolute Path in VB .NET

    - by Mehdi Anis
Hi, I am writing a VB .NET console app where it spits takes relative path and spits out all file name, or error for invalid input. I am havinf trouble getting PhysicalPath from RelativePath Example: ` 1. I am in folder: C:\Documents and Settings\MehdiAnis.ULTIMATEBANGLA\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\SP_Sol\SP_Proj\bin\Debug My App SP.exe is also in the same folder I run: "SP.exe ..\" OutPut will be a list of all files in the folder of "C:\Documents and Settings\MehdiAnis.ULTIMATEBANGLA\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\SP_Sol\SP_Proj\bin" I run: "SP.exe ..\..\" OutPut will be a list of all files in the folder of "C:\Documents and Settings\MehdiAnis.ULTIMATEBANGLA\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\SP_Sol\SP_Proj" I run: "SP.exe ..\..\..\" OutPut will be a list of all files in the folder of "C:\Documents and Settings\MehdiAnis.ULTIMATEBANGLA\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\SP_Sol" ` Currently I am Handling 1 relative path, but not more than one: If Source.IndexOf("..\") = 0 Then Dim Sibling As String = Directory.GetParent(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory()).ToString()()) Source = Source.Replace("..\", Sibling) End If How can I easily handle multiple ..\ easily ? Thanks.

  • NVelocity ASP.NET Examples

    - by Ben
I'm looking to use NVelocity in my ASP.NET MVC application, not as a view engine, just for rendering some email templates. However, I cannot for the life of me get it to work. I have downloaded it from the castle project and followed the example at http://www.castleproject.org/others/nvelocity/usingit.html#step1 No matter what I try I don't seem to be able to load a template located in my site. The example suggests using the absolute path, which I have tried to no avail: Template t = engine.GetTemplate("/Templates/TestEmail.vm"); So please can someone give me two examples. One of loading a template located in the web site directory and secondly one parsing a string variable (as it is likely that my templates will be stored in a database). Many thanks Ben

  • Collection of MVC CSS files available?

    - by Jaxidian
Just curious - are there various customized Site.css files (and accompanying images) that work with the default ASP.NET MVC 2 templates? I'm a stereotypical developer who "doesn't do pretty" so I'd like to find a design that is good enough for me to use until I later have a designer come back and fix my design. Are there collections/libraries of various designs out there that work with the default templates? I did find this but the 2 popular ones I tried seem like they're for MVC 1, plus they in no way used the default tags with the MVC 2 templates.

  • Creating array with constant

    - by wrongusername
I was working on a program in Netbeans on Linux using a gcc compiler when, upon switching to Visual C++ on Windows 7, the code failed to compile as Visual C++ says it expected constant expression on several lines. On Netbeans, I simply did something similar to char name[fullName.size()];, while on Visual C++, I tried, among other things, const int position = fullName.size(); char Name[position]; How can I create a constant to use for the array?

  • Lucene.Net PrefixQuery

    - by Sole
Hi, i´m development a suggest box for my site search service. I has to search fields like these: Visual Basic Enterprise Edition Visual C++ Visual J++ My code is: Directory dir = Lucene.Net.Store.FSDirectory.GetDirectory("Index", false); IndexSearcher searcher = new Lucene.Net.Search.IndexSearcher( dir, true); Term term = new Term("nombreAnalizado", _que); PrefixQuery query = new PrefixQuery(term); TopDocs topDocs = searcher.Search(query, 10000); This code works well in this case: "Enterprise" will match "Visual Basic Enterprise Edition" But "Enterprise E" doesn´t match anything. I removed white spaces at indexing time and when the user is searching. Thanks.

  • free css ui template

    - by Dels
Hi, Could someone show me some css ui framework/template for consistent web application, something like: http://www.webguitemplates.com/templates/futurism/futurism-blue http://www.webguitemplates.com/templates/simplus/simplus-silver http://www.adminizio.com/ http://gooeytemplates.myshopify.com/products/blue-atom http://gooeytemplates.myshopify.com/products/blue-carbon http://themeforest.net/category/site-templates/admin-skins http://demo.sproutcore.com/sample%5Fcontrols/ http://ukijs.org/functional/wave.html The framework/template is "pure" css and not javascript/ajax framework (ExtJS, JQuery UI, YUI, etc) and can work without JQuery or other JS/Ajax framework (mainly it just the UI). Maybe be a bit too much, but consider the template included: Form styling (input, button, select, fieldset, radio, checkbox, etc) Table styling (header, row-highlight, row-focus, etc) Navigation styling (tab based, list based, etc) Text typography (h1...h3, b, i, u, em, strong, a, etc) I found some here: http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/free-admin-template-for-web-applications/ http://blogfreakz.com/web-design/excellent-free-admin-template-for-web-applications/ I hope i could find any, especially the one that looks like google product (gmail, wave, analytics), just for speeding up web design process while maintaining consistency on UI design.

  • Windows Media Encoder object not created in ASP.NET on MS Server 2003 64 bit

    - by Ron
    Hello, I created (and used) a Windows Media Encoder object in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on MS Server 2003 64 bit. This worked fine. However, when I attempted to create the equivalent Windows Media Encoder object using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 on MS Server 2003 64 bit, the following exception was thrown: "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {632B606A-BBC6-11D2-A329-006097C4E476} failed due to the following error: 80040154." It cannot be that the component isn’t registered, because both have a reference to the same WMEncEng.dll file. The Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 code also worked fine on XP 32 bit. Could it be a problem with permissions? Regardless, anyone have any ideas why this problem is occurring and, more importantly, how to resolve it? Thank you. Here are the two code snippets from MS Server 2003 64 bit: Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 (did not work): using System; using WMEncoderLib; namespace TestWMEnc { public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { WMEncoder encoder = new WMEncoder(); //exception thrown // ... } catch (Exception err) { string exception = err.Message; } } } } Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition (worked fine): using System; using System.Windows.Forms; using WMEncoderLib; namespace testWMEncoder { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { WMEncoder encoder = new WMEncoder(); // ... } catch (Exception err) { string exception = err.Message; } } } }

  • What software do you use for letter templating and printing?

    - by Pratik
In our LOB application there is a very important use case of printing letters, which are then printed and posted out from a mail house (thousands per day). The current situation is that the letter templates are created in Word 97 and fields are mail merged from values in database using a VB.Net application that basically uses word automation. But depending on Word 97 is not a good idea today. We only have a couple of PCs that have Word 97 installed as rest of the company has moved to Office 2007. What software or technology (compatible with .Net) is available today that best suits this scenario. Is it better to do the same thing but move to Word 2007 or PDF or something else. Price may not be a factor. The important thing is that the letter templates must be designed by business users and data to fill placeholders come from DB. A bonus would be to import the hundreds of existing Word 97 letter templates without rewriting them from scratch.

  • Attribute to mark code

    - by happyclicker
In c# there are attributes such as [obsolete] that create compiler warnings that will be shown in visual studio. Is there an attribute that I can use to mark a method or a class with a comment that should be shown as a warning in visual studio when I compile? Something like: [TBD(Msg="Please change me after 2010 07 20")] public void Foo(){ } or is there a possibility that I can derive from System.Attribute and make my own attribute, configuring visual studio so that it behaves as I described.

To call the functions I'm doing XenoPhysics * d = new XenoPhysics(); d->LoadLib(); d->xStart(); It then throws the following error at me(Note that it passes the LoadLib() without any errors) Unhandled exception at 0x50261bc9 in Xeno Test.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000064. And yes; I've checked that the "curFunc" gets the address, not just a NULL pointer(atleast I think I've checked that).. Anyone who can help out? Edit: Forgot the C#.Net code, how stupid of me :3 Here is the C++ CLR DLL "wrapper" I tried to make: #include <windows.h> // The following ifdef block is the standard way of creating macros which make exporting // from a DLL simpler. • Can't Add LINQ to SQL classes to projects in VS2010

    - by MisterJames
I just ran into something in Visual Studio 2010 RC that wasn't previously happening (like, yesterday). No software changes here, but I did run into some muck yesterday when compiling that required a reboot. I am unable to add LINQ to SQL classes to any project through the add dialog. I have created ASP.NET web sites, ASP.NET MVC projects - both of these as 'templated' and as 'empty' - and there appear to be no templates installed or available. I have made sure that the project targets the 4.0 Framework. I can easily add a new database and the ADO.NET entity framework templates are there. As a workaround I can copy a DBML file to my project, delete all tables and sprocs, update the connection string and use the leftover shell (the designer works fine like this), but it's a pain. Has anyone else had their templates drop? Figured out how to reinstall them?

  • service not defined when precompiling a web app with AJAX-enabled WCF Service

    - by Omar Mefire
I created a web application in which one .aspx page calls an AJAX-enabled WCF service (created with Visual Studio 2008 Add New Item - AJAX-enabled WCF Service). when I test the application in Visual Studio, it works and the page can call the service from Javascript but when I "publish" (code precompilation using Visual Studio) it to the local IIS Server, I get an error : "service ThunServ is undefined" in my .html page. I've been spending quite a time to solve this problem but to no avail. Attarea.

  • Help with Django localization--doesn't seem to be working. Nothing happens

Then, I set LANGUAGES={} in my settings.py along with "gettext lambda": gettext = lambda s: s LANGUAGES = ( ('de', gettext('German')), ('en', gettext('English')), ('ja', gettext('Japanese')), ) Of course, I installed the LocaleMiddleware. I also set the request.session['django_language'] = "ja" How do I test that this is working? How do I see japanese on my site!?

  • Can I allow a write access to a particular registry key without elevation?

    - by 280Z28
I develop an extension for Visual Studio 2005, 2008, and 2010. The Visual Studio 2005 SDK requires write access to the following registry key during builds. The normal way to handle this run Visual Studio with elevated privileges. The entire issue can be avoided if there's some way I can set permissions to allow access to this particular registry key without elevation: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0Exp Side note: This key is only used for testing Visual Studio 2005 extensions. The issue does not occur on client machines so this is just a workaround for my own development machine.

  • Which jsPerf-test should I consider as standard for checking the performance of javascript template-engines

    - by bhargav
I am on a search for a javascript template engine that has good performance when used in large js applications and is also very suitable for mobile applications. So I have gone through the various jsPerf-tests for these. There seems to be a lot which show different results and it is confusing to find out which is the standard test. Can some one guide me a standard jsPerf that I can refer to and that should also include following templates dust, underscore, hogan, mustache, handlebars. From what I have observed dot.js is a constant performer with good rendering speed, but is it mature enough for larger applications ? What is this "with" and "no with" that is shown in the jspref tests? Can some one explain. In all the tests I have seen popular templates like mustache, handlebars, dust, hogan, etc seems to be behind performance than other templates, so why people are using them leaving out the top performers,is it because of maturity of these template engines? Thanks in advance
