• Getting document.xml from a docx file using ZipInputStream

  Hello, I have a inputStream of a docx file and I need to get hold of the document.xml which lies inside the docx. I am using ZipInputStream to read my stream and my code is something like ZipInputStream docXFile = new ZipInputStream(fileName); ZipEntry zipEntry; while ((zipEntry = docXFile.getNextEntry()) != null) { if(zipEntry.getName().equals("word/document.xml")) { System.out.println(" --> zip Entry is "+zipEntry.getName()); } } As you can see The output for zipEntry.getName comes as "word/document.xml" at some point. I need to pass this document.xml as a stream and unlike the ZipFile method where you can easily pass this on calling .getInputStream, I am wondering how can I do this docXFile? • Can I use a class as an object in C# to create instances of that class?

  I'm writing a fairly uncomplicated program which can "connect" to several different types of data sources including text files and various databases. I've decided to implement each of these connection types as a class inherited from an interface I called iConnection. So, for example, I have TextConnection, MySQLConnection, &c... as classes. In another static class I've got a dictionary with human-readable names for these connections as keys. For the value of each dictionary entry, I want the class itself. That way, I can do things like: newConnection = new dict[connectionTypeString](); Is there a way to do something like this? I'm fairly new to C# so I'd appreciate any help.

  Hi All, Is is mandatory to have classpath inside a Manifest file inside the java jar file? can we do work without having the classpath inside it? The reason why I am asking this is because I have a jar file for a server application. • Getting Phing's dbdeploy task to automatically rollback on delta error

  I am using Phing's dbdeploy task to manage my database schema. This is working fine, as long as there is no errors in the queries of my delta files. However, if there is an error, dbdeploy will just run the delta files up to the query with the error and then abort. This causes me some frustration, because I have to manually rollback the entry in the changelog table then. If I don't, dbdeploy will assume the migration was successful on a subsequent try. So the question is, is there any way to get dbdeploy use transactions or can you suggest any other way to have phing rollback automatically when an error occurs? Note: I'm not that proficient with Phing, so if this involves writing a custom task, any example code or a url with further information is highly appreciated. Thanks

  I am trying to build Marble on Windows (XP) and have been extremely unsuccessful. Following the instructions written here. I am wanting to build it as QT only. Configuration of the build tree fails. I am using the cmake-gui since I have never tried to compile using cmake it's possible it could be something in there. I found a similar issue; however, they compiled QT using Visual Studio and I am using QT Creator which compiles with MinGW so I need to compile in a different manner. • Map a column to be IDENTITY in db with EF4 Code-Only

  Although I have marked my ID column with .Identity(), the generated database schema doesn't have IDENTITY set to true, which gives me problems when I'm adding records. If I manually edit the database schema (in SQL Management Studio) to have the Id column marked IDENTITY, everything works as I want it - I just can't make EF do that by itself.   Hi I'm trying to create a "gadget" like application using WPF. The goal is to get the same behavior as a normal Windows 7 gadget: No task-bar entry Doesn't show up when you alt+tab windows NOT always on top, applications can be on top Visible while performing 'Aero Peek' Visible while using 'Show desktop' / Windows+D I've been able to accomplish the first four goals, but have been unable to find a solution to the fifth problem. The closest I've come is by using the utility class from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/75785/how-do-you-do-appbar-docking-to-screen-edge-like-winamp-in-wpf, but this turns the app into a "toolbar", thereby banishing applications from the part of the screen where my gadget GUI is placed. I can see that similar questions has been asked previously on Stackoverflow, but those have died out before a solution was found. Posting anyway in the hope that there is now someone out there with the knowledge to solve this =)

• Reading custom values in Ebay RSS feed (XML::RSS module)

  I've spent entirely way too long trying to figure this out. I'm using XML:RSS and Perl to read / parse an Ebay RSS feed. Within the area, I see these entries: 1395 1255 However, I can't figure out how to grab the details during the loop. I wrote a regex to grab them: @current_price = $item =~ m/\(\d+)\<\/rx\:CurrentPrice/g; which works if you place the above 'CurrentPrice' entry into a standalone string, but not while the script is reading through the RSS feed. I can grab most of the information I want out of the item-description area (# bids, auction end time, BIN price, thumbnail image, etc), but it would be nicer if I could grab the info from the feed without me having to deal with grabbing all that information manually. If anybody knows how to grab custom fields from an RSS feed (short of writing regexes to parse the entire feed w/o a module), any help / insight would be appreciated.

• Using wix3 SqlScript to run generated temporary sql-script files.

  I am starting to write an installer which will use the SqlScript-element. That takes a reference to the Binary-table what script to run. I would like to dynamically generate the script during the installation. I can see three possibilities: Somehow to get SqlScript to read it data from a file rather then a Binary entry. Inject my generated script into the Binary table Using SqlString Which will cause the need to place some rather long strings into Properties, but I guess that shouldn't really be a prolem. Any advice? Regards Leif (My reason, should anyone be interested is that the database should have a job set up, that calls on an installed exe-file. I prefer to create the job using sqlscript. And the path of that file is not known until InstallDir has been choosen.)

One is running in commit and other in uninstall. Purpose is to add a registry key at install time and remove it at uninstall. It works perfectly on Windows XP but when I change to Windows 7 and run the setup, only the key-adding part works. The key doesn't get deleted at uninstall. But when I take the uninstall exe file out from the setup and run it separately on Windows 7, (not through the setup, by just double-clicking on the exe) it removes the registry entry perfectly. Any idea what the problem is?

Otherwise, this method obtains the specified element." Let's say we have following example: ICollection<int> col = new List<int>() { /* fill with items */ }; IList<int> list = new List<int>() { /* fill with items */ }; col.ElementAt(10000000); list.ElementAt(10000000); Is there any difference in execution? or does ElementAt recognize that col also implements IList< although it's only declared as ICollection<?   I am using WebBrowserControl in winforms to automate a data entry form. This website opens a new dialog window using ShowModalDialog and puts all the form fields in that new dialog window. How can I access that modal dialog window's contents from my winforms code and want to populate fields. When I access the webbrowser's document it shows the main document not the opened dialog window. Is there any way to access the opened dialog's document? I tried to inject javascript to access contents but the javascript is blocked till the modal dialog is open.

• Calling Web Page from Windows Service

  I have a Windows 2008 server. This has an instance of IIS7 installed and a website, accessible only via an internal hostname defined in the the servers hosts file. e.g. the server IP is 10.0.6.11 and the hosts file contains an entry 10.0.6.11 hl7.ourname.org I would like to call a URL on the website, e.g "http://hl7.ourname.org/updatestatus" from a Windows service. I can call the web site from an instance of IE7 running on the server. However, if try to call it from a Windows service I get a "Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused." This looks like a permission issue. The service is running as "Network Service" ,but maybe I should be running as a different user. Thanks

  Hi, I have to make a log server in java, and one task is to send the data compressed. Now I am sending it line by line in plain text, but I must compress it. The server handle "HTTP like" request. For example, I can get a log sending "GET xxx.log". This will entablish a TCP connection to the server, the server response with a header and the log, and close the connection. The client, reads line by line and analyzes each LOG entry. I tried some ways without success. My main problem is that I don't know where each line ends(in the client size). Any idea?

• How do I get the intellisense in FoxPro 8 to work with .net COM objects?

  Hi, I'm at my wit's end with this. What I'm doing is making a C# dll file that needs to have some methods exposed to FoxPro 8. This guy here http://www.west-wind.com/presentations/VfpDotNetInterop/DotNetFromVFP.asp says that you can put [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.AutoDual)] in front of the (C# in my case) class, and then intellisense in Foxpro magically works. I'm accessing the COM object fine in FoxPro, but unfortunately the intellisense doesn't work, and it's annoying me. Is there some other step I'm missing to this? Is there some registry entry to look for to confirm that the methods are exposed properly (for intellisense to work)? Are there other steps in Foxpro that I'm supposed to follow (I don't know a thing about FoxPro!) It might be a pretty obscure question these days, but someone on here must know the answer! Thanks

Question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/390150/authenticating-against-active-directory-with-java-on-linux provides me the authentication for given name+pass but I'd like to authenticate based on the Windows logon? For the Active Directory access, the LDAP would probably be the choise? I'm not totally sure if I'm asking the right questions but hopefully somebody has some ideas to forward me on.

What I can't determine is how to define multiple privileges for a single page. Use case: A page that is for managing users. I want to display that page (in navigation) if the current signed in user's role has add, edit, or delete privileges on the Users resource. Example entry in the navigation XML: <admin_users> <label>Users</label> <route>default</route> <controller>admin</controller> <action>users</action> <resource>Users</resource> <privilege>add,edit,delete</privilege> </admin_users> Using a comma-separated list as above doesn't lend the desired behavior.

• To store images in SQL or not?

  Generally, I had thought it was always better to store images in the filesystem and link to it via the database entry. However, I am trying to optimize my db design and am having a few questions. My images are all really small thumbmails in black and white (not greyscale, but true B&W) and are 70x70 in size. If we take the images (which is basically a 2D array of 1 and 0), it can be stored as binary data that would be approximately 600 bytes each. So my question is whether querying the 600 bytes stored in a db would be faster than querying a link followed by accessing the filesystem; assuming there are a lot of "image" queries being made. Does anyone have any experience with this area? If it matters, I am using MySQL, and MonetDB (separately, but have the same question for both). Many thanks, Brett

• Testing sample code in python modules

  I'm in the process of writing a python module that includes some samples. These samples aren't unit-tests, and they are too long and complex to be doctests. I'm interested in best practices for automatically checking that these samples run. My current project layout is pretty standard, except that there is an extra top level makefile that has build, install, unittest, coverage and profile targets, that delegate responsibility to setup.py and nose as required. projectname/ Makefile README setup.py samples/ foo-sample foobar-sample projectname/ __init__.py foo.py bar.py tests/ test-foo.py test-bar.py I've considered adding a sampletest module, or adding nose.tools.istest decorators to the entry-point functions of the samples, but for a small number of samples, these solutions sound a bit ugly.
