  • Javascript & jquery : Unable to increment within a form

    - by Daniyal
    I got a simple increment function like this: $(function(){ $("#inc").click(function(){ var value = parseInt($(":text[name='ice_id']").val()) + 1; $(":text[name='ice_id']").val(value); }); $("#dec").click(function(){ var value = parseInt($(":text[name='ice_id']").val()) - 1; $(":text[name='ice_id']").val(value); }); }); the ice_id text field is embedded within a form <form id="masterSubmit" name="masterSubmit" action="" method="post"> <td><input id="ice_id" type="text" name="ice_id" size="16" maxlength="15"></td> </form> When I try now to increment , it successfully increments a number, but shows the following weird behavior: It 'refreshes' the site, so that the content of the text field is gone. This behavior disappears, if I comment out the form tags ...unfortunately the form tags are required for an AJAX-submit. Are there any ways to avoid this problem? Thanks in advance for any hints and best regards Daniyal

  • [JS] How to manipulate a PHP Array in javascript?

    - by rasouza
    I have an Array in PHP which contains data from database. And it prints out also as a table in the same page which has an AJAX delete function. Trying to explain better The array contains debt sums related to many people, it is the application's main function. In the same page, there is a table containing every debt record related to the array, which can be deleted or edited using AJAX. I have coded the part of deleting the record and removing the TR entry, but it's not enough: I'd like to change also the debt sum using AJAX which is an PHP Array. What I have I have the JS function which removes the TR when the delete button is clicked // TR Fading when deleted $('.delete') .click(function() { $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: 'history/delete/id/'+$(this).attr('id') }); $(this).parent().parent().fadeOut(); return false; }); and I have the PHP array (image)

  • Highlight row of form when input is focussed

    - by Jeepstone
    I have the following piece of Mootools 1.11 code (not upgradable as this is within Joomla), which I want to highlight the form row, when an item within it is focussed. However, this doesn't work. I need to know how to access the parent div of the form item. window.addEvent('domready', function() { var list = $$('#ChronoContact_lensorder div.formrow'); list.each(function(element) { var fx = new Fx.Styles(element, {duration:200, wait:false}); element.addEvent('focus', function(){ fx.start({ 'background-color': '#e6f0f2', color: '#FFF' }); }); element.addEvent('focus', function(){ fx.start({ 'background-color': '#FFF', 'color': '#2F9AD0' }); }); }); }); HTML is: <div class="formrow"> <label for="ud">Uncut Diameter:</label> <input type="text" id="ud" name="ud" /> </div> Thanks

  • Using deprecated binders and C++0x lambdas

    - by Sumant
    C++0x has deprecated the use of old binders such as bind1st and bind2nd in favor of generic std::bind. C++0x lambdas bind nicely with std::bind but they don't bind with classic bind1st and bind2nd because by default lambdas don't have nested typedefs such as argument_type, first_argument_type, second_argument_type, and result_type. So I thought std::function can serve as a standard way to bind lambdas to the old binders because it exposes the necessary typedefs. However, using std::function is hard to use in this context because it forces you to spell out the function-type while instantiating it. auto bound = std::bind1st(std::function<int (int, int)>([](int i, int j){ return i < j; }), 10); // hard to use auto bound = std::bind1st(std::make_function([](int i, int j){ return i < j; }), 10); // nice to have but does not compile. I could not find a convenient object generator for std::function. Something like std::make_fuction would be nice to have. Does such a thing exist? If not, is there any other better way of binding lamdas to the classic binders?

  • php extending but with a new constructor...possible?

    - by Patrick
    I have a class: class test { function __construct() { print 'hello'; } function func_one() { print 'world'; } } what I would like to do is a have a class that sort of extends the test class. I say 'sort of', because the class needs to be able to run whatever function the test class is able to run, but NOT run the construct unless I ask it to. I do not want to override the construct. Anyone has any idea how to achieve this?

  • Need of optimized code for hide and show div in jQuery

    - by novellino

  • Flex Tree Properties, Null Reference?

    - by mvrak
    I am pulling down a large XML file and I have no control over it's structure. I used a custom function to use the tag name to view the tree structure as a flex tree, but then it breaks. I am guessing it has something to do with my other function, one that calls attribute values from the selected node. See code. <mx:Tree x="254" y="21" width="498" height="579" id="xmllisttree" labelFunction="namer" dataProvider="{treeData}" showRoot="false" change="treeChanged(event)" /> //and the Cdata import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; [Bindable] private var fullXML:XMLList; private function contentHandler(evt:ResultEvent):void{ fullXML = evt.result.page; } [Bindable] public var selectedNode:Object; public function treeChanged(event:Event):void { selectedNode=Tree(event.target).selectedItem; } public function namer(item:Object):String { var node:XML = XML(item); var nodeName:QName = node.name(); var stringtest:String ="bunny"; return nodeName.localName; } The error is TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. Where is the null reference?

  • How to wait for ajax validation to complete before submitting a form?

    - by Jung
    Having a problem where the form submits before the validateUsername function has a chance to complete the username check on the server-side. How do I submit the form only after the validateUsername function completes? Hope this is clear... form.submit(function(){ if (validateUsername() & validateEmail() & validatePassword()) { return true; } else { return false; } }); function validateUsername(){ usernameInfo.addClass("sign_up_drill"); usernameInfo.text("checking..."); var b = username.val(); var filter = /^[a-zA-Z0-9_]+$/; $.post("../username_check.php",{su_username:username.val()},function(data) { if (data=='yes') { username.addClass("error"); usernameInfo.text("sorry, that one's taken"); usernameInfo.addClass("error"); return false; } else if (!filter.test(b)) { username.addClass("error"); usernameInfo.text("no funny characters please"); usernameInfo.addClass("error"); return false; } else { username.removeClass("error"); usernameInfo.text("ok"); usernameInfo.removeClass("error"); return true; } }); }

  • element height after content change

    - by Neph
    I have a snippet of code that alters the contents of a DIV to match the contents of a textarea and then applies the height change in the DIV to the textarea element. function growTextArea(parameter) { $('div').find("[data-fieldid='1_description']").text($(parameter).val()); // No Works height = $('.hiddenDiv').find("[data-fieldid='1_description']").outerHeight(); alert(height); // Works heightDiv = $('.hiddenDiv').outerHeight(); alert(heightDiv); $(parameter).css('height', $('div').find("[data-fieldid='1_description']").outerHeight()); } The DIV contents change properly, so the search function is working properly, however the search function always returns the original height of the DIV. The function is called by onKeyUp in the textarea. If the .find is swapped out for a .hiddenDiv the height change is reflected properly.

  • Can I get a reference to an object created in a jQuery plugin?

    - by gargantaun
    Perhaps my brain is fried, but I'm writing a plugin that created an tweaks an element, but also creates an object that i'd like access to. So the plugin looks like this (function ($) { $.fn.myPlugin = function () { return this.each(function () { // do some stuff to the element... this.objectInstance = new usefulObject(); }); }; })(jQuery); function usefulObject(){ // useful object properties and methods.... this.doSomething = function(){ alert("Don't google Google. You'll break the internet."); } } so when I call the plugin, I also want to be able to get access to that usefulObject that I created. I thought something like this might work.... tweakedElement = $("#someDiv").myPlugin(); tweakedElement.objectInstance.doSomething(); ... but that's not working. How can I achieve this? Can I achieve this? Answers on a postcard, or down below, whichever suits you.

  • Canvas scalable arc position

    - by Amay
    http://jsfiddle.net/cs5Sg/11/ I want to do the scalable canvas. I created two circles (arcs) and one line, when you click on circle and move it, the line will follow and change position. The problem is when I added code for resize: var canvas = document.getElementById('myCanvas'), context = canvas.getContext('2d'), radius = 12, p = null, point = { p1: { x:100, y:250 }, p2: { x:400, y:100 } }, moving = false; window.addEventListener("resize", OnResizeCalled, false); function OnResizeCalled() { var gameWidth = window.innerWidth; var gameHeight = window.innerHeight; var scaleToFitX = gameWidth / 800; var scaleToFitY = gameHeight / 480; var currentScreenRatio = gameWidth / gameHeight; var optimalRatio = Math.min(scaleToFitX, scaleToFitY); if (currentScreenRatio >= 1.77 && currentScreenRatio <= 1.79) { canvas.style.width = gameWidth + "px"; canvas.style.height = gameHeight + "px"; } else { canvas.style.width = 800 * optimalRatio + "px"; canvas.style.height = 480 * optimalRatio + "px"; } } function init() { return setInterval(draw, 10); } canvas.addEventListener('mousedown', function(e) { for (p in point) { var mouseX = e.clientX - 1, mouseY = e.clientY - 1, distance = Math.sqrt(Math.pow(mouseX - point[p].x, 2) + Math.pow(mouseY - point[p].y, 2)); if (distance <= radius) { moving = p; break; } } }); canvas.addEventListener('mouseup', function(e) { moving = false; }); canvas.addEventListener('mousemove', function(e) { if(moving) { point[moving].x = e.clientX - 1; point[moving].y = e.clientY - 1; } }); function draw() { context.clearRect(0, 0, canvas.width, canvas.height); context.beginPath(); context.moveTo(point.p1.x,point.p1.y); context.lineTo(point.p2.x,point.p2.y); context.closePath(); context.fillStyle = '#8ED6FF'; context.fill(); context.stroke(); for (p in point) { context.beginPath(); context.arc(point[p].x,point[p].y,radius,0,2*Math.PI); context.fillStyle = 'red'; context.fill(); context.stroke(); } context.closePath(); } init(); The canvas is scalable, but the problem is with the points (circles). When you change the window size, they still have the same position on the canvas area, but the distance change (so the click option fails). How to fix that?

  • How to properly set path to media files in Django

    - by sasquatch90
    Hello. I've got a new project, and currently I'm trying to set it correctly. But somehow I can't make my media files work. Here's my current setting : MEDIA_ROOT = os.path.normpath( '/home/budzyk/rails/fandrive/site_media/' ) templates setting work on the other hand : TEMPLATE_DIRS = ( "/home/budzyk/rails/fandrive/templates", ) Catalog with media files is ../fandrive/site-media/ so why it's not working ? • Jquery animate negative top and back to 0 - starts messing up after 3rd click

    - by Daniel Takyi
    The site in question is this one: http://www.pickmixmagazine.com/wordpress/ When you click on one of the posts (any of the boxes) an iframe will slide down from the top with the content in it. Once the "Home" button in the top left hand corner of the iframe is clicked, the iframe slides back up. This works perfectly the first 2 times, on the 3rd click on of a post, the content will slide down, but when the home button is clicked, the content slides back up normally but once it has slid all the way up to the position it should be in, the iframe drops straight back down to where it was before the home button was clicked, I click it again and then it works. Here is the code I've used for both sliding up and sliding down functions: /* slide down function */ var $div = $('iframe.primary'); var height = $div.height(); var width = parseInt($div.width()); $div.css({ height : height }); $div.css('top', -($div.width())); $('.post').click(function () { $('iframe.primary').load(function(){ $div.animate({ top: 0 }, { duration: 1000 }); }) return false; }); /* slide Up function */ var elm = parent.document.getElementsByTagName('iframe')[0]; var jelm = $(elm);//convert to jQuery Element var htmlElm = jelm[0];//convert to HTML Element $('.homebtn').click(function(){ $(elm).animate({ top: -height }, { duration: 1000 }); return false; })

  • How to end a thread in perl

    - by user1672190
    I am new to perl and i have a question about perl thread. I am trying to create a new thread to check if the running function is timed out, and my way of doing it is as below. Logic is 1.create a new thread 2.run the main function and see if it is timed out, if ture, kill it Sample code: $exit_tread = false; # a flag to make sure timeout thread will run my $thr_timeout = threads->new( \&timeout ); execute main function here; $exit_thread = true # set the flag to true to force thread ends $thr_timeout->join(); #wait for the timeout thread ends Code of timeout function sub timeout { $timeout = false; my $start_time = time(); while (!$exit_thread) { sleep(1); last if (main function is executed); if (time() - $start_time >= configured time ) { logmsg "process is killed as request timed out"; _kill_remote_process(); $timeout = true; last; } } } now the code is running as i expected, but i am just not very clear if the code $exit_thread = true works because there is a "last" at the end of while loop. Can anybody give me a answer? Thanks

  • scripting subtlties [closed]

    - by jpmyob
    Possible Duplicates: When to use anonymous JavaScript functions? Is there any difference between var name = function() {} & function name() {} in Javascript? in javascript (and other scripting languages) what is the 'real' difference between these two syntax: a) function myFun(x) { yadda yadda } b) myFun(x) = function { yadda yadda } to a casual observer - no 'real' difference - you still call either as myFun()...and they still return the same thing, so if reference and return are identical - is it a preference or is there some difference in the code parsing engine that treats these two differently - and if so - when would you use one over the other???
