  • How can I get Snow Leopard to recognize my third partition?

    I installed Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro. I then installed Windows 7 in a Boot Camp partition. Then using Windows 7's disk management console, I resized my Windows 7partition and created a 3rd NTFS partition for data, intending for both Windows 7 and Snow Leopard to read/write this partition. I installed MacFuse and NTFS-3G in Snow Leopard, but Snow Leopard still shows I have a single Windows 7 partition. How can I get Snow Leopard to recognize my third partition?

  • JBOD with PERC H810

    I'm wondering if anybody has ever used Dell storage products like the MD3220 array in a JBOD configuration. From what I can tell only perc h810 will work for external JBOD but that is not terribly specific, and for some reason I couldn't find many examples on the web of people configuring dell storage products as JBOD. My question is: Is it possible to connect to am MD3220 array, or other Dell arrays using a PERC h810 controller and use it as JBOD, and if so do I have to configure every disk in the array as a RAID 0 volume?

  • Windows7 hardlink over two different drives

    I am trying to create a hardlink on my C drive that points to a file on my D drive. I open up a terminal with Administrator privileges and try the following: C:\Users\sandro>mklink /H _vimrc D:\sandro-desktop\.vimrc The error that I get is: The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive. When I try a softlink I get the issue that for some reason changes to the link contents aren't reflected on the targeted file. Thank you!

  • Failure connecting to Dell MD3200i from XenServer 6.2 pool

    This question also asked at Citrix Forums http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=332289 I have a MD3200i that is currently working fine with my Xen5.6 pool, but I cannot get a connection to the new 6.2 pool to work. I previously had a problem with a 6.0 upgrade (which is why the old pool is still on 5.6), but rolled back rather than fix it as it wasn't urgent at the time. This install is on new machines - I tried 6.1 first (which had the same problems) then 6.2 was released the second day after installation so I switched to that. I've not installed anything from the Dell resource DVD at this point - I can't find anything saying I should, and everything I have read suggests it shouldn't be necessary. I can ping all 8 ip addresses from both servers in the pool, iscsiadm -m discovery works fine, I can login to the nodes and iscsiadm reports the sessions active correctly. I've added the required sections to multipath.conf, but multipath -ll reports DM multipath kernel driver not loaded immediately after boot.   • Perfmon: which counter identifies that threads are waiting?

    While load testing an ASP.NET app, we find that the pages are taking 20-30 sec under heavy load. We suspect this is because the pages are waiting for database calls or web services. Is there a particular perfmon counter that can identify this sort of bottleneck on the web servers? CPU, Memory, and Disk are normal. Or must we use a tool other than perfmon to track down this bottleneck?

    I have used Disk2VHD to create a VHD of my old XP Laptop's boot drive. I would like to use it as an XP virtual machine on my new Win7 machine. I have tried doingit on a second XP machine and the VPC boots properly using that VHD but under Win7 I can't get it to act as the boot disk for the VPC. Any ideas? TIA J

    Hello! I have a web server based on Ubuntu Server 9.10 with this software: apache 2 PHP 5.3 MySQL 5 Python 2.5 Few of my websites are PHP based, few use python/django through mod_wsgi. For month or so, every day my apache server stops responding until I manually restart it.     Hi, We've spent the last two days trying to get squid 2.7 to work with ubuntu 9.10. The computer running ubuntu has two network interfaces: eth0 and eth1 with dhcp running on eth1. Both interfaces have static ip's, eth0 is connected to the Internet and eth1 is connected to our LAN. We have followed literally dozens of different tutorials with no success. After booting into the install wizard and next-ed a few times, On the disk step, it only shows physical harddrive but not the RAID (RAID-10) volume that I set up on the Dell RAID. Is there a special option that I have to set on the boot? or do I need a special driver for this? Please Advise Thanks

    I tried to view the superblock by command "dd" in ext3 file system. dd if=/dev/sda3 bs=4096 skip=1 count=1 of=superblock But the result in superblock file is not correct(I compare the value of Inodes count I got from dumpe2fs). The device file /dev/sda3 is started at the boot block and then the superblock of the group0? And another question is the boot block and superblock's size are both BLOCKSIZE(here is 4096)? The disk format of ext2/ext3(I think they are the same) are shown below:

To be honest, I'm not even sure where to start on this one - never guessed it would be so much trouble to add a component right from the disk.   • Using Diskpart in a PowerShell script won't allow script to reuse drive letter

    I built a script that mounts (attach) a VHD using Diskpart, cleans out some system files and then unmounts (detach) it. It uses a foreach loop and is suppose to clean multiple VHD using the same drive letter. However, after the 1st VHD it fails. I also noticed that when I try to manually attach a VHD with diskpart, diskpart succeeds, the Disk Manager shows the disk with the correct drive letter, but within the same PoSH instance I can not connect (set-location) to that drive. If I do a manual diskpart when I 1st open PoSH I can attach and detach all I want and I get the drive letter every time. Is there something I need to do to reset diskpart in the script? However, after shutting down and removing the USB hard disk, whey I to start my laptop (with only Windows 7 installed), but it doesn't boot and trying to repair it doesn't work.     I'm trying to make a custom Ubuntu Server iso file. Kickstart file (ks.cfg) runs smooth when there is no %post in the file and Ubuntu installs correctly with ks configuration. Installation finishes installing base, apt, grub and It echos: Kickseed Running... and it freezes @ 0% I thought may be apt-get update doesnt work in ks file, I tried to install other apps like apache2 but no luck I have created dozen iso images and installed them in Virtual Box.I have been googling for 3 days and checked out ubuntu forums but haven't figured out the issue.   • Apache Reverse Proxy not working inside a VirtualHost running a Mono Web Application

    I have a mono web application running with this virtual host below. It is running on Apache 2.2.20 / Ubuntu 11.10. I tried to add a reverse proxy inside this virtualhost so I can make asynchronous or AJAX type calls back to this same domain. My asynchronous requests would have problems in many browsers calling services that are on another domain (cross domain requests problem). I am wanting to do reverse proxy calls to this other service using http://www.whatever.com/monkey/. So, I added the directive and top directive to try to make this work. It is weird though...nothing I do seems to have any effect. I can put the exact same markup in my default website virtualhost file and it works great. What is the deal?
