  • Why won't anyone accept public fields in C#?

    Seems like every C# static analyzer wants to complain when it sees a public field. But why? Surely there are cases where a public (or internal) field is enough, and there is no point in having a property with its get_ and set_ methods? What if I know for sure that I won't be redefining the field or adding to it (side effects are bad, right?) - shouldn't a simple field suffice?

  • Finding inline style with lxml.cssselector

    New to this library (no more familiar with BeautifulSoup either, sadly), trying to do something very simple (search by inline style): <td style="padding: 20px">blah blah </td> I just want to select all tds where style="padding: 20px", but I can't seem to figure it out. All the examples show how to select td, such as: for col in page.cssselect('td'): but that doesn't help me much.

    Hi all, just wondering if there is a simple way in java to display the contents of say 16x16 array of doubles [0..1] as a greyscale image (ala matlab)? using an unfamiliar matrix library, so I'd like to check that I'm on the right track. don't really care if it is slow or ugly, or if it requires external library - it's just there for a quick look, so as long as it works, I'm fine.

  • Problem with y-axis in Matlab Diagram

    Hi, I am drawing a simple bar diagram in Matlab. The problem is, that the value at x = 0 lets the y-axis disappear partially. Is there a way to bring the y-axis to the front instead of hiding between the y-value for x=0? Is there any option I can make sure the y-axis is always in the front? Many thanks, Claus

    Hi, I can't seem to find my problem with this really simple .htaccess file: Options -Indexes Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /d/ #drupal style url rewriting RewriteRule ^([^.]*)$ index.php?path=$1 [L] It works as intended for everything except the root url with no slash. So it rewrites and passes the hidden get querystring to my pages for localhost/d/x/y/z as ?path=x/y/z and localhost/d/ as ?path= (blank) but... localhost/d works, but now appears in the address bar as this ugly monster: http://localhost/d/?path=/Users/audiozoom/Documents/webroot/d What could be the problem?

  • Silverlight project fails to compile

    I have a Silverlight 3 project in VS2008. Today, for whatever reason, I get an error when compiling. Configuration system failed to initialize It reports the error on Line 1, Column 1 for every .xaml file in the project. I did a repair on VS2008, reinstalled all the Silverlight 3 bits (e.g. SDK, VS2008 tools and the Controls Toolkit), but the problem still persists. Am I missing something simple?

  • Switching between landscape views

    What is the best way to switch between views that are both in Landscape mode? I've tried with a simple "Push and Pop" methods that work fine when I try them with Portrait views but when I do it with Landscape for some reason it does the switching like the method was supposed to work just for Portrait views and a the end of the switch it autorotates back to Landscape.... if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.     I have a problem with NHibernate, I can't seem to find any solution for. In my project I have a simple entity (Batch), but whenever I try and run the following test, I get an exception. I've triede a couple of different ways to perform a similar query, but almost identical exception for all (it differs in which LINQ method being executed). The first test: [Test] public void QueryLatestBatch() { using (var session = SessionManager.OpenSession()) { var batch = session.Query<Batch>() .FirstOrDefault(); Assert.That(batch, Is.Not.Null); } } The exception: System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at NHibernate.Linq.NhQueryProvider.PrepareQuery(Expression expression, ref IQuery query, ref NhLinqExpression nhQuery) at NHibernate.Linq.NhQueryProvider.Execute(Expression expression) at System.Linq.Queryable.FirstOrDefault(IQueryable`1 source) The second test: [Test] public void QueryLatestBatch2() { using (var session = SessionManager.OpenSession()) { var batch = session.Query<Batch>() .OrderBy(x => x.Executed) .Take(1) .SingleOrDefault(); Assert.That(batch, Is.Not.Null); } } The exception: System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at NHibernate.Linq.NhQueryProvider.PrepareQuery(Expression expression, ref IQuery query, ref NhLinqExpression nhQuery) at NHibernate.Linq.NhQueryProvider.Execute(Expression expression) at System.Linq.Queryable.SingleOrDefault(IQueryable`1 source) However, this one is passing (using QueryOver<): [Test] public void QueryOverLatestBatch() { using (var session = SessionManager.OpenSession()) { var batch = session.QueryOver<Batch>() .OrderBy(x => x.Executed).Asc .Take(1) .SingleOrDefault(); Assert.That(batch, Is.Not.Null); Assert.That(batch.Executed, Is.LessThan(DateTime.Now)); } } Using the QueryOver< API is not bad at all, but I'm just kind of baffled that the Query< API isn't working, which is kind of sad, since the First() operation is very concise, and our developers really enjoy LINQ. I really hope there is a solution to this, as it seems strange if these methods are failing such a simple test. EDIT I'm using Oracle 11g, my mappings are done with FluentNHibernate registered through Castle Windsor with the NHibernate Facility. As I wrote, the odd thing is that the query works perfectly with the QueryOver< API, but not through LINQ.

  • Quartz Cron Trigger with Spring - triggering new cron before last ended

    Simple question, I think. I have org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.CronTriggerBean triggering one job once a day. Because this method can last a long time (over 24 hours), will the next day at the same time a new job be executed if the last one is not ended yet? If yes - is it possible to turn off executing new jobs until the last one is finished? My method is trans-coding videos and some days there a lot of videos and could last long.

    I'm trying to call a webservice (implemented with a .NET/ASP system) from groovy/grails using WSClient. I have no trouble accessing this service using the SOAPClient debugger (Todd Ditchendorf's program for OSX), but when i try it via groovy/grails, I get the error undefined simple or complex type 'soapenc:Array' Is there any solution? Looking at it with wireshark: It seems to have thrown this error even before it gets a chance to perform the transaction. The error is thrown right after WSClient has downloaded the second of two schemas referenced in he WSDL.
