  I'm trying to resize a flash video (F4V) and in the media encoder, there is a green line along the left edge of the screen. This greenline is visisble in the Adobe Media Encoder, but not in the source video. This greenline is then visible on the output video. How do i remove it

  When I installed Windows 8 Professional Edition I noticed that Internet Explorer 10 was missing. I tried to find some source to acquire the installer but none of the sites are providing it. One of my colleagues upgraded recently and he got the new Internet Explorer after his installation was completed. So is there a way to acquire the installer?   We have a small project we are working on part-time that runs on Nginx/MongoDB on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server. We'd like to be able to see reports on things like server load, requests/sec, response time, DB load, DB response time, etc. Is there an open source or free (as in beer) tool that can parse such logs and provide a real-time report? I looked into Splunk briefly, but I wanted to see if there are any others that are highly recommended.

• How can I block a specific type of DDoS attack?

  My site is being attacked and is using up all the RAM. I looked at the Apache logs and every malicious hit seems to simply be a POST request on /, which is never required by a normal user. So I thought and wondered if there's any sort of solution or utility that will monitor my Apache logs and block every IP that performs a POST request on the site root. I'm not familiar with DDoS protection and searching didn't seem to give me an answer, so I came here. Thanks.   Server 2008/2008 R2 I'm trying to remotely monitor these servers to watch the progress of hotfixes being installed. I was able to find this in Server 2003/2003 R2: -Log: System -Source: NtServicePack It seems the above event is written when every hotfix is installed. I can't seem to find a comparable entry in Server 2008/2008 R2 though. Is there anything similar that I can easily monitor for remotely?

• How can I automatically cycle a new image in an AWS Auto Scaling Group?

  I have a web application setup with a load balancer and auto scaling group to manage scaling. The source code is in a git repository so I don't have to update the images when the code changes, but occasionally the environment changes so we create a new image. Then that image needs to be cycled into the auto scaling group. Is there a way to cycle the images automatically? Right now I schedule a scale up and scale down action which gets rid of the old instances.

• certain thumbdrives keep a system from going out of the boot screen

  I have an old r51 which i boot off usb. Apparently, if i have a toshiba 2gb thumbdrive similar to this plugged in, or an old imation 1gb drive plugged in, it won't boot at all- it freezes in the bios loading screen until its unplugged. I need to try it on another system but i'm wondering what could be causing it- since i suppose this is at a lower level than filesystem, and the drives work fine otherwise - even being readable if inserted after the system is booted from another source, with neither drive plugged in

It tells you that Tomcat's standard data source factory is org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory, but I've searched every single jar file on my system after installing Tomcat on Fedora 17 and I cannot find one that contains this class. Where is it?
