  • Jquery.form plugin and jquery.validation and it's submitHandler not working correctly... please help

    Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. I am using jquery.validation and placing that dynamic function within the submitHandler like so: submitHandler: function(form) { $(form).ajaxSubmit({ target: '.response', // target element(s) to be updated with server response resetForm: true, success: function() { $('#commentform').hide(); $('.response').show(); } }); So what I am getting is a div that is not being populated with the echo from my php file in FF and in IE I am getting the message of thank you but the page is taking me to the update.php script in which I have the form action pointing to. I am not sure what I am missing... Thanks, Matt

This means that a lot of what made Rails, Rails will now be moved to plug-ins so that it can be more lightweight. HOwever, what are those plug-ins going to be and as a new Rails developer, what are THE must have - and also more mature - plug-ins that a Rails developer should install? Some good examples I can think of might be will_paginate, ruby_prof or sqlite3-ruby.

  • Plugin Framework - can there be too many addin assemblies?

    Hi, The product I'm working on needs to be built in such a way that we have a quote engine driven by a pluggable framework. We are currently thinking of using MAF, so we can leverage separation of the host and addin interfaces for versioning. However, I'm concerned that we'd have lots of assemblies, it's likely that we'd have one for each quote engine addin - of which there could be 100 going forward, we also need to support multiple versions, so there could be lots of assemblies in total. The quote engine also uses WF to drive it, which means each AppDomain for each addin will need a workflow runtime associated with it. This seems quite heavyweight, however we can unload unfrequently used addins. Does this seem like a good design? We've also looked at a single AppDomain solution using an IOC container to load addin types, but I'm concerned that we won't be able to unload any of the assemblies, given their quantity.

    I can't find XamlPad anywhere after I installed .NET 4.0 / Visual Studio 2010 and Windows 7 SDK - v7.1. I tried searching C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\bin and did a dir /s xamlpad.exe to see if the Windows Index service didn't get to that folder yet. And it's not under Start Menu - All Programs - Windows SDK v7.1 -- Tools. Where has it gone? Did MS deprecate it? Thanks

  • A good way in Visual Studio to have user entered time frame?

    Hi, Does anyone know of a good way to have a user enter an amount of time (hours and minutes) using visual studio controls? At the moment i have two numeric up downs, one for time and one for minutes that i then parse to create a timespan. The only other idea i have is a text box that a user can enter a "00:00" time in, and validate the input. Both of these ways seem a bit bad (in UI terms) though. Any ideas? Thanks

Current settings are: project/cruise_config.rb: project.email_notifier.emails = ['[email protected]'] project.email_notifier.from = '[email protected]' site_config.rb: ActionMailer::Base.smtp_settings = { :address => "localhost", :domain => "myemail.com", } I've even tried ActionMailer::Base.delivery_method = :sendmail Configuration.email_from = '[email protected]' Any thoughts as to why my cruisecontrol can't send an e-mail?     Twitter will pop down a message bar at the top of the screen say "Wrong password" and after 10 seconds, it will slide up and disappear. Chrome also shows "Do you want to save the password" message box using such a way. Does jQuery have a plug in to do that already? Does it also work in IE 6? Because usually, the display of relative to the viewport (using position: fixed) will not work on IE 6. thanks.

I haven't been able to make something like this work: Assuming this is my widget code: <script src="http://mysite/nomnoms.js"> </script> And my nomnoms controller looks like (assume that the list partial exists and simply lists down a link to the show page of each nomnom in the @nomnoms variable): class NomnomsController < ApplicationController def index @nomnoms = Nomnom.find(:all) @content = render_to_string(:partial => 'list') end end And in the index.js of my nomnoms_controller I have: page << "document.write('<div>'" page << "document.write('#{@content.to_json}')" page << "</div>" The above setup doesn't render anything :(. But when I change the second line of index.js to: page << "document.write('nomnoms should be here') ...the widget renders the text. I clean the project all the time and I don't want to spend 5 min to rebuild the whole site every time I want to look at the test report in my browser. If I type mvn surefire-report:report-only, the generated report is too ugly and barely readable. What I'm looking for is something like ant's JUnitReport task. Is there one available out there already?

    I have some projects in a solution that are running on .net 3.5 SP1 (and can never ever be updated to 4.0 as they are SharePoint projects). When I try to create a new Visual C# Test Project in VS2010 Premium, I have to choose .net 4.0 which is apparently intended. Now I don't care about what my Unit Test project is (don't have to care about VS2008 users), but I do care if I can safely test 3.5 Projects in it due to the different CLRs and slight C# language differences?
