    Hi, I am having a trouble. I am trying to run asp.net mvc 1.0 on mono 2.2.I have copied the system.web.mvc.dll to bin directory. I have done HttpContext.Current.RewritePath("/Home/Index");.     Google Analytics use some query parameters to identify campaigns and to do cookie control. This is all handled by javascript code. Take a look at the following example: http://www.example.com/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_ter m=October%2B2008&utm_campaign=promotion This will set cookies via JavaScript with the right campaign origin. This query parameters can have multiple and sometimes random values. Since they are used as cache hash keys the cache performance is heavily degraded in some scenarios. I suppose there's a not so hard configuration on cache servers to just ignore all query parameters or specific query parameters. Am I right? Does anyone know how hard is it in popular web cache solutions, to create ? I'm not interested in a specific web cache solution. It would be great to hear about the one you use.

    Hello, We have a series of products with built in web servers each of which has a login page, a customer wants to create a web portal in which they log into once, from there they can simply click on any of the devices (external websites) and it will automatically login to that site and redirect them to the page after the login screen. The portal is using ASP.NET MVC, the external devices are Windows CE based units running embedded web servers. Can find a lot on scraping, but not much on redirection after the event. Is there a way I could get the name of the config file for both Win and Web apps without checking if the application is Web or WinForms?

    How do I detect what color is under the InfoButton... so I can change the button from DARK to LIGHT? I set my view's color... but how do I tell if it's "kind of light" or "kind of dark"? Besides... I can't change the info-button from light to dark anyway. (read only) Ugh. Shouldn't Apple have some kind of a simple "cmdButton.doThisExtremelyCommonThingForMe = TRUE" statement? InfoButtons are useless if you can't even see them. (Or how would I put an image behind the button to make it stand-out more?)

  • Yahoo Pipes: filter items in a feed based on words in a text file

    I have a pipe that filters an RSS feed and removes any item that contains "stopwords" that I've chosen. Currently I've manually created a filter for each stopword in the pipe editor, but the more logical way is to read these from a file. I've figured out how to read the stopwords out of the text file, but how do I apply the filter operator to the feed, once for every stopword? The documentation states explicitly that operators can't be applied within the loop construct, but hopefully I'm missing something here.

    I am using Silverlight 4 to access the web cam. Everything works ok when I start the web cam on a button click event, I get the prompt for permission. I would like the web cam to start when User Control loads, but for some reason when I run the same code on the Loaded event, I don't get a prompt when executing the following code:' CaptureDeviceConfiguration.RequestDeviceAccess() Does anyone have a work around for this?

    I am trying to make a very simple web-service which does the following: The client hits the web service requesting a file. The web service's service class queries a hashtable which has the key (search query) and the value as the base64encoded value of a file (say a pdf) Now,I need to use MTOM to return the base64encoded value stored in the hashtable to the client. It's upto the client to decode it and convert it to pdf. So, here are my questions: I understand we encode files to base64 for transmission via web service, but where and how does MTOM come into the picture there? Can some one provide me a simple method which uses MTOM and sends the data back. Do we need to specify something in the WSDL too? or a simple String return type would suffice? Why/Why not? Thanks I have seen this code. It uses a lot of annotations, I just need a simple java code using MTOM. New to J2EE HERE :)

    Hi, I'm creating a web-browser type app (using a web view object) that needs to be able to connect to the internet via a proxy. Server, port, username and password can all be hardcoded into the app but unfortunately I have no idea how to customise the proxy settings of a web view without changing the system wide proxy settings. If you know how to do this please provide some example code, thanks a lot! (Also, if it changes anything - I'm developing for mac, not iPhone)

    I'm trying a new approach to int 0x13 (just to learn more about the way the system works): using stack to create a DAP.. Assuming that DL contains the disk number, AX contains the address of the bootable entry in PT, DS is updated to the right segment and the stack is correctly set, this is the code: push DWORD 0x00000000 add ax, 0x0008 mov si, ax push DWORD [ds:(si)] push DWORD 0x00007c00 push WORD 0x0001 push WORD 0x0010 push ss pop ds mov si, sp mov sp, bp mov ah, 0x42 int 0x13 As you can see: I push the dap structure onto the stack, update DS:SI in order to point to it, DL is already set, then set AX to 0x42 and call int 0x13 the result is error 0x01 in AH and obviously CF set. No sectors are transferred. I checked the stack trace endlessly and it is ok, the partition table is ok too.. I cannot figure out what I'm missing...     I'd like to migrate my svn repository from my local computer running windows and VisualSVN 2.1.2 to an svn app on webfaction (my Linux hosting solution). Initially I tried dumping the svn: svnadmin dump *path_to_repository* *dumpfile_name* and loading it on the Linux machine svnadmin load *dumpfile_name* I received the following error: svnadmin: Can't open file '*dumpfile_path_and_name*/format': Not a directory I found that on my Windows machine I do have a format folder under the repository. So I copied the entire repository to the Linux machine and tried: svnadmin load *path_to_repository_copy* I received the following error: svnadmin: Expected FS format between '1' and '3'; found format '4' what should I do?

    I have a Win 2003 server and I'm using Ionics Isapi Rewrite Filter to redirect requests made to a Web Site configured in IIS to another Apache2 Server in a server not exposed to the Internet. The Web Site has its host headers configured to catch requests for the specific site, and the redirection is being done with the ProxyPass directive. This is working OK. So far the scenario, my question is: I'd like to add a server certificate to the Apache server, but I don´t know if I need to add the certificate to both Apache and IIS sites. I think I still don´t get the theory behind this and would like to know from someone with expertise in the field the right way to implement this. Thank you in advance.

    When the mouse hovers over each column I'd like the tooltip to indicate whether that column is sortable. "Not Sortable" : "Click header to sort."); }); I'd like to replace the demo expression 'i % 2' with a check of the colMode's sortable property, but I can't figure out how to get the value of the colModel's sortable property. colModel: [ { name: 'Name', index: 'Name', width: 100, sortable: true }, { name: 'Note', index: 'Note', width: 200, sortable: false } ] I've tried .getGridParam and .getColProp but I don't think the syntax I'm using is correct.

  • update variable based upon results from .NET backgroundworker

    I've got a C# program that talks to an instrument (spectrum analyzer) over a network. I need to be able to change a large number of parameters in the instrument and read them back into my program. I want to use backgroundworker to do the actual talking to the instrument so that UI performance doesn't suffer. The way this works is - 1) send command to the instrument with new parameter value, 2) read parameter back from the instrument so I can see what actually happened (for example, I try to set the center frequency above the max that the instrument will handle and it tells me what it will actually handle), and 3) update a program variable with the actual value received from the instrument. Because there are quite a few parameters to be updated I'd like to use a generic routine. The part I can't seem to get my brain around is updating the variable in my code with what comes back from the instrument via backgroundworker. If I used a separate RunWorkerCompleted event for each parameter I could hardwire the update directly to the variable. I'd like to come up with a way of using a single routine that's capable of updating any of the variables. All I can come up with is passing a reference number (different for each parameter) and using a switch statement in the RunWorkerCompleted handler to direct the result. There has to be a better way.

    Hi there. Looking at using a template system for a new project, it's only a small site and don't want to use the overhead and 'complexity' of smarty. I don't really like template systems that force you to make use of another language just to make it easier for designers (apparently).     I have a View that renders something like this: "Item 1" and "Item 2" are <tr> elements from a table. After the user change "Value 1" or "Value 2" I would like to call a Controller and put the result (some HTML snippet) in the div marked as "Result of...". I have some vague notions of JQuery. I know how to bind to the onchange event of the Select element, and call the $.ajax() function, for example. But I wonder if this can be achieved in a more efficient way in ASP.NET MVC2.
